Report: India bans release of “Dragon Tattoo” because Fincher refused to cut scenes…

India has banned the release of, “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” because David Fincher refused to cut three scenes that they wanted out of the film. There was a love making scene between Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, a lesbian scene, and the rape scene. The film was originally scheduled to premiere in India on Feb. 10th.

The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Another example of censorship! This is Fincher’s work, and he shouldn’t have to be told how to make his movies. Fincher did the right thing telling India to fuck off. Imagine what the film would be like without those three scenes? If those three scenes weren’t in the film, then the film would bomb in India.

Those three scenes they wanted out were the big part of the “Dragon Tattoo” story. All the sex and the rape were the huge part of Lisbeth Salander’s character. If those things weren’t a part of this film at all, then the film wouldn’t have mattered.

I’m siding with Fincher on this one.

Report: Jack White will finally release solo album, April 24th…

Now that Jack White, former front man of the White Stripes has nothing to do, he finally got around to record his debut solo album. Jack will release, “Blunderbluss”, under his own record label, Third Man Records, and it will hit stores, April 24th. You can also hear a new song off the album and it sounds like it’s more of an acoustic album.

This Day In Music: 1/30/12

I know I haven’t been doing these the past couple of days, because the “This Day In Music” website has been down a lot. I think I’m going to get my “This Day In Music” stuff else where, I’ll look around google and find something. Here’s todays:

Musician Birthdays: Phil Collins (drummer, singer/songwriter…famous as the frontman for Genesis and solo career. Also famous for hits such as Genesis “I Can’t Dance” and “Susudio” solo, born in 1951)

My choice for GOP nomination and President of the United States???

I haven’t been following the GOP debates, so I’ve been watching the older videos of the debates in youtube. In the past, I haven’t decided on who I would want to win for a GOP nomination and to win the Election 2012 for President of the United States.

I think I’ve made my choice on who I would want for President of the United States. There is this one candidate who I have been impressed with as of late. Who is it?

I’ll announce him tomorrow. My choice may become quite a surprise for everyone, and no it isn’t Ron Paul. I can clue you in, it is somebody that everyone hates, and he is younger than most of the candidates running.

EDIT TO ADD: I’ll reveal my choice in a videoblog tomorrow. I think it’ll be more fun to do it on video.

The Royal Rumble tonight, I’m watching it!!!

Even though I haven’t been following the WWE in the past couple of months or more, I’ll still watch the big PPV’s like the “Royal Rumble” and “Wrestlemania” every year. Seriously, I gave up on WWE for a while at least, ’cause I don’t like their PG rating thing. I’ll be watching the “Royal Rumble” tonight, ’cause I love the Rumble ppvs. They’re exciting to watch every year.

Who do I predict is going to win the 30 Man Rumble matchup tonight? I’m thinking either Chris Jericho or Mick Foley, who both just returned to WWE not too long ago. It’s probably going to be Jericho.

As always there are three other matches before the Rumble, Cena vs. Kane, and the other matches are championship matches.

I have no idea what kind of storylines and feuds going on right now since I haven’t been watching RAW lately, but tonight will be interesting. I haven’t watched a WWE PPV in a long time.

Even if I somewhat lost interest in WWE, I’m still a fan and always will be. Maybe tonight’s PPV will get me back into watching RAW again, who knows.

Why I have a blog…

Some of you may wonder why I have a blog site. Is it for attention or for my own ego? I’m sure I’ve been accused of that stuff but not really. I post on a blog on a regular basis for a few reasons…

  1. To clear up all the bullshit that is said about me online – People seem to enjoy talking about me online over the years and make up a lot of bullshit about me that is not even true. So this is one reason I started a blog, as a way to defend myself from all the negative bullshit that is being said about me.
  2. It’s my own place for freedom of speech – I’ve been kicked off and banned off of other forums over the years, when all I wanted to do was speak my mind like everyone else. So I figure I start a blog, as a place to have my own freedom of speech, where I can talk about anything I wanted.
  3. I needed a place to promote my music – Over the years, I’ve used my blogs to promote my music. I use it to post my songs on, promote my projects, and gigs.
  4. I needed a place to rant about stuff – A blog is a great tool to bring out your honest rants. Sometimes my rants still angers people to this day, but that’s okay. I actually like it when people get pissed at what I have to say. It lets me know that they’re paying attention.
  5. A blog is just a hobby, something fun to do – Instead of posting in other forums and blogs, I needed a place where I can discuss my passions in life like movies, music, wrestling, fitness, etc. or whatever, so I used a blog to write about all that stuff.

This may sound crazy but a blog can help you in life. It helps make you feel like a better person expressing yourself publicly, that it shows that you’re not afraid to speak your mind on anything you wanted.

I don’t blog for nothing.

What I’m trying to focus on in guitar playing…

In guitar playing, I’m really trying my best to become a better player and learn to play more professionally. Trying to learn the 7 modes of the major scale to see how they work, studying improvisation, learning how to count rhythm with a metronome, would like to learn arpeggios & sweep picking, music theory, etc. I’m trying to learn all the stuff a lead guitar player needs to learn.

I’m even thinking about giving up the singing and just have someone else sing for me, but not sure yet. It would give me an opportunity to concentrate on guitar playing only.

I want to take guitar playing instruction more seriously and become a better player, so I can start jamming with other musicians. Hoping to either join a band or form a band of my own someday.

I want to become a better electric guitar player. Just play good rock guitar.

Another local music rant…about the way fans support music…

Another thing that bothers me about the local music scene around here, is the way fans support local music. It seems that most people only support the music they like and they completely ignore the local bands they don’t like. Which is understandable. It also seemed like that the only time I got to play in front of a huge crowd at a gig, is when I open for a band with a large following. When I play a gig by myself, I don’t get much of a crowd. Some people just support your gig, just to be nice and friendly, when in reality they don’t actually like your music.

Yes, I did have actual fans that came out to see my set, so that was better than nothing. I will admit that sometimes it is hurting and disappointing being a struggling musician. Other people supporting other bands more than my music, is a little weird and strange.

I just wish fans would support all local music, ya know? Not just supporting the bands and musicians that they like. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried my very best to promote my past gigs and too many people ignored my show invites. Yet, they accept other invites from other bands that they like. Only very few people actually accepted my show invite and they actually came to the gig.

Yeah, I do have loyal fans of my music, and would like a lot more, but if people don’t like my stuff, like I said before, I’m fine with it.

So this is why I thought I would step up and try and become a better songwriter and musician. Become a better guitar player and singer. I’m working hard at both trying to improve.

I guess writing good songs is the only way to be accepted as a musician. It is tough being a struggling musician trying to get recognized, I’ll admit it, but I’ll take it for what it is. All songwriters deserve to get supported and get heard. It doesn’t matter if they suck or not. In my opinion, it’s just rude and disrespectful to be opinionated at local musicians.

A UK man’s custom Star Trek home gets destroyed after a heated divorce…

A man named, Tony Alleyne, who is from the UK, is a big time, Star Trek, geek. Yes, he’s a die hard fan. Tony is so obsessed with Star Trek, that he even turned his home into a Starship Enterprise. It took years and lots of money to build. His wife couldn’t stand it, so she divorced him and now she wants to sell the home since she owns it. Since she’s selling the home, Tony has no choice but to destroy all the Star Trek stuff he built in it.

Tony admits he was upset and he plans to rebuild, when he gets his own home.

Read the full story and see photos of the home, here.

In my opinion, his ex-wife is a pretty selfish bitch that couldn’t appreciate his love for, Star Trek. Lessons learned, Tony, never marry a woman who is not a die hard, Trekkie. That would be a pretty cool house to live in, I would go crazy over it, since I’m a Trekkie myself.

If he wants to get married again, then he should find a woman who loves Star Trek as much as he does, that way he would not have to go through this again.
