Report: Alec Baldwin finally explains why he did no more Jack Ryan movies after, “The Hunt For the Red October”…

“30 Rock” star, Alec Baldwin took to his blog over at the, Huffington Post, to rant about why he did no more Jack Ryan movies after Tom Clancy’s submarine thriller, “The Hunt For the Red October”. He was going to do more but things got really heated. Reports claimed that scheduling conflicts is what caused this, but Alec explains the real reason he left the series. Basically, it all has something to do with the film director’s John McTierman negotiating with another famous actor who’s about to star in the sequel.

While Alec didn’t name who this “famous actor” is, I assume it’s Harrison Ford who took over the role for “Patriot Games”.

That article was quite the interesting read. I would have liked to see Alec continue the Jack Ryan character. “Hunt for the Red October” is a great film.

Memento Blu Ray giveaway contest coming this week…

I once talked about in a blog post that I will host my very first contest giveaway for this blog. Something I’ve never done before, and I hope to do more giveaways like this, when other companies ask me to help promote something here.

I will be giving away only 1 copy, of the “Memento” Blu Ray, and a poster came along with it too. It’s the “Memento – 10th Anniversary Edition”.

The contest will be a trivia game. Yes, the trivia question will have something to do with the movie and I’ll try to make the question easy. It’s a bad idea to make the question too difficult ’cause people won’t participate in the contest like that.

The contest will be exclusive in a videoblog for youtube later this week. I will post the video soon.

Thanks to Cinedigm for this opportunity.

I watched my own copy of the “Memento” Blu Ray a couple of nights ago. It plays great and sounds great. It’s a great film. It’s my favorite Christopher Nolan movie.

“Super 8” the mysteries of the trailer…

One thing for sure that JJ Abrams and Spielberg did a great job on keeping the new trailer mysterious. The plot haven’t been revealed quite yet. The trailer showed a few kids filming their own zombie movie with a video camera at a railroad track. A train comes by and crashes through a truck. Then they discover a US Airforce cargo that was on the train, not sure where it came from and they try to investigate it. Something was trapped inside the cargo and trying to get out. Keeping that “thing” a mystery. They wouldn’t show you if it was an animal, a monster or an alien, whatever that thing is.

At about 1:37 in the trailer, you can briefly see that “thing” in the trailer, if you look closely. So it’s obviously some kind of creature or an alien. The trailer makes it look like that the town is in danger of this “thing”. If you notice in the trailer, the kids try to find the “thing” themselves by filming a documentary of it. Look like Kyle plays the town’s Sheriff and look like his job is to protect the town from danger.

The trailer wants to make it look like the film is violent and dark, with this mysterious “thing” in the film. Is this “thing” evil or actually friendly? There are too many questions that need to be answered. Once we actually see the film, I’m sure the film will be much different than the trailers we’ve seen.

Knowing that Spielberg is part of this film, I just hope this film won’t end like “Close Encounters” or “E.T.”. We’ve had enough of those endings where the aliens go back out in space. I hope the ending for “Super 8” will be different.

Most movie trailers make films so predictable, but this one is mysterious. They did a great job with the trailer, leaving us having no idea of what the movie is going to be like. Spielberg have done so many movies about aliens over the years, I’m hoping this one will be something different. I’m hoping the “thing” in this film will be evil and scary looking. Spielberg had enough family friendly aliens, hope this one will be a mean one.

It might not be an alien or a monster at all and the thing won’t even exist in the film. We’ll just have to wait and find out what it is when the film comes out in June.

Cool Video: New “Super 8” trailer with more footage from the film hits the web!

The JJ Abrams directed, Steven Spielberg produced sci-fi movie, “Super 8” have just hit the web this morning. It surfaced on twitter. The trailer is still keeping the monster or alien mysterious as you can see here.

The movie looks very cool. I’m happy for Kyle Chandler that he’ll get the recognition he deserves. I’m there in theaters when it comes out, June 10th. Hope it’s a good movie.

Report: Stallone will NOT write or direct the sequel to “The Expendables” but he will star…

Sylvester Stallone, have decided to pass the torch the writing and directing job to someone else for the sequel to, “The Expendables”, movie. The script have already been written and handed in. The script was written by, David Agosto and Ken Kaufman.

A director haven’t been hired yet, however, Stallone himself have been meeting with a list of directors and found one that could get the job, but was not authorized to speak about that director’s name publicly.

More on the story, here.

This is actually a good idea. The first, “Expendables” movie was pretty good, but it wasn’t Stallone’s best action movie. The story and the acting wasn’t that great, but the action scenes were of course, a blast to watch. The first “Expendables” movie needed a lot of improvements. Maybe Sly wants the next movie as an opportunity for it to be a much better film than the first.

Hopefully, the next film will give Bruce and Arnold a longer role. Probably will. Hopefully, Jean Claude Van Damme and Kurt Russell will star in the next one as well.

Who will take over Sly’s directing job? I would like Christopher Nolan to, but he’ll be too busy with the next “Superman” and “Batman” flicks for the next several years.

Other good choices would be: Kathryn Bigelow, Clint Eastwood, Robert Rodriguez, or he could re-team with Renny Harlin.

Report: “Tomb Raider” re-boot, officially green lighted!!!

GK Films, have announced that they have green lighted, the “Tomb Raider” series.

Read the full story here at, Deadline.

I loved the first, “Tomb Raider” flick, it was actually a great film. I hated the second one though, “Cradle of Life” that was a shit movie. I can see why they’re re-booting since the second one wasn’t that great.

I hope they do a good job with the re-boot. Now that Angelina Jolie is officially out, who do I think will replace?

I’d like to see these 5 actresses replace Angie:

-Michelle Rodriguez

-Minka Kelly

-Noomi Rapace

-Mila Kunis

-Rhona Mitra

Rhona Mitra would probably be the best choice of them all. Why? Because she played the voice overs for Lara Croft for a few Tomb Raider video games, plus, she starred in “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” movie. Rhona would be more fitting. It would be great if Rhona plays Lara in a live action film. She did voice over for Lara in a video game but not for a film. She deserves this opportunity. Rhona have done lots of action movies, so she can handle her own stunts.

Report: Arnold to star in a superhero movie????

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former Governor of California, spent all weekend at the Arnold Classic Bodybuilding Competitions, he does every year. Well Arnold held a fan Q & A session there and the Arnold fan website, The Arnold fans, reported that they asked Arnold himself on what scripts he’s looking at for his big return to the movies.

Arnold reveals he is looking at 15 different scripts. Of course, the next Terminator movie is one of them. He also announced that remakes of “Predator” and “The Running Man” are in there too. Most surprisingly, Arnold said something about that he is getting together a film on which he will play a comic book character which he didn’t name. He will announce the comic book movie he will be in, sometime later this month or in April.

Arnold is no stranger to starring in comic book movies. The Conan franchise was based from the comics and so was the, Red Sonja movie. Also, Arnie was Mr. Freeze in, “Batman & Robin”.

What could his next comic book movie be? I’m thinking it could be Sgt. Rock or Doc Savage. Those movies were attached for him to star but those projects were scrapped since he got elected, Governor. Now that he’s done, maybe both films will actually happen?

I too am looking forward to seeing what his first movie back in Hollywood would be. I hope it’s an action movie.

Film Review: The Adjustment Bureau

Starring: Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Terence Stamp

Directed by: George Nolfi

So today I decided to go to the mall for something to do. For shopping, I didn’t get too much this time. I just picked up “127 Hours” on DVD and picked up “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” book. That was it.On with the review:

Plot/Synopsis: Matt Damon plays a New York City politician named, David Morris who is running for New York State Senate. While doing his politics stuff, David meets a woman named Elise who is a ballet dancer and they immediately fall in love. It was love at first sight. While David is concentrating on the election, strange men come after him to hold him captive in a warehouse where the men told him about the Adjustment Bureau. The Adjustment Bureau have control of everything and their goal was to keep David and his girlfriend, Elise apart.

I saw this film because it was getting a lot of positive reviews from critics and movie fans online. When I went and saw this, I thought it was pretty good, but not the best film ever. Why? For a few reasons. First of all, I don’t really care for Matt Damon too much. Even though I’ve seen plenty of his movies and he has been in some good ones, I just don’t like his acting style. Matt Damon is a little overrated for my taste.

Secondly, I think this film kind of ripped off the plot from the 1998 sci-fi film, “Dark City”. Both films have very similar plot points. Where a guy finds himself having a group of men and having control of things. Dark City is about a guy who wakes up and loses his memory and is wanted for murders, and he is being controlled by a group of people called, The Strangers. See how “Dark City” is similar to this movie? That is another thing that turned me off about, “The Adjustment Bureau”.

Other than that, I did like the film, it’s just that I feel it’s a wait for DVD thing. It’s a rental, in my opinion. Terence Stamp gave a great performance, I think that’s what I liked most about it. Most people loved, “The Adjustment Bureau” but that’s probably because most people haven’t seen “Dark City”. I suggest you to watch “Dark City”. It’s a way better film.

Score for “The Adjustment Bureau” = (** = “2 stars” as in okay)

BREAKING NEWS: Diane Lane confirmed to play Martha Kent for Zack Snyder’s “Superman”!!!

First Henry Cavill have been hired to play Superman. Here is the next confirmed casting for Zack Snyder’s “Superman”. Diane Lane have been officially hired to play Martha Kent, Clark Kent’s adopted mother from Smallville.

Just a while back it was reported that WB’s was interested in Kevin Costner playing an unannounced role. Kevin wasn’t confirmed, Warner Bros’s was just interested in him. Everyone assumed that Kevin would be playing Clark’s father’s, Jonathan Kent.

Read the full story here, at Deadline.

Diane Lane is an amazing actress, so she’ll nail this role with no problem. If she’s lucky enough, she could get Oscar nominated for Best Supporting Actress in this “Superman” flick. Her acting for this film would be the one to pay the most attention to.

I remembered her in “The Perfect Storm” movie.

From the sounds of things, sounds like they are doing another version of, “Superman: The Movie”.

Lets hope they’ll get John Williams to do the score for the new Superman flick. That opening Superman theme is important and they need to keep it.
