BREAKING NEWS: Harrison Ford to star in “Cowboys & Aliens”, confirmed by Jon Favreau himself…

The movie industry has been wanting Harrison Ford, to star in Jon Favreau’s next movie, “Cowboys & Aliens”. Rumours been swirling for a long time ever since the film was announced. Why would people think Harrison would be good for this movie? I’ve never read the comic, but maybe the “Cowboys & Alien” comic had something to do with Indiana Jones.

Jon Favreau himself, broke the news on his twitter page, confirming Harrison Ford has a role in this movie, but they are keeping his role top secret for now:

Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is. Please don’t tell anybody.

Will Harrison play a cowboy? Or will Harrison actually play Indiana Jones in “Cowboys & Aliens”? Will Harrison play the leading role? Supporting role or just a small cameo? Lots of questions that needs to be answered, Mr. Favreau!

Glad that Harrison is finally in another action/adventure popcorn film which is what he needs in his career. Harrison’s last couple of films, “Extraordinary Measures” and “Crossing Over” went no where in his career. It’s time to get Harrison back in the mainstream again!

Report: “War of Gods” changes title to “Immortals”, John Hurt joins cast…

Universal Pictures announced the Greek mythology movie, “War of Gods”, has changed it’s title to “Immortals”. Henry Cavill is attached to star the leading role, Theseus. John Hurt and Isabel Lucas has joined the cast. Also starring in the film will be Stephen Dorff, Kellan Luntz, Freida Pinto, and Mickey Rourke.  The reason for the name change is that they don’t want any competition against the “Clash of the Titans” remake. Filming begins this week in Montreal, Canada.

More on it here:

Changing the name of the movie is a great move. Not only with “Clash of the Titans”, but it will also avoid a lot of confusion with the upcoming live action “God of War” video game adaptation. Maybe that’s another reason they changed it.

I’m really looking forward to “Immortals”. I’m sure they will do Greek Mythology right. Better than that piece of shit “Clash of the Titans” remake. “Immortals” will be a much better movie.

Film Review: Clash of the Titans

Starring: Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes

Directed by: Louis Letterier

So I’ve just seen the “Clash of the Titans” remake earlier tonight. I saw the 2D version, didn’t see it in 3D. I didn’t buy anything, didn’t do any shopping, just saw a movie today, that was it.

On with my review:

Plot/Synopsis: The story has a similar plot idea from the original but it is slightly different. In this version, Persues is raised as a fisherman who is about to go to war that killed his family. Hades is the one that killed his family and Persues wants to kill him for revenge. Persues tries to get an army together to try and destroy the Kraken monster.

I will never forget that post I made about “War of the Gods” vs. “Clash of the Titans”, saying that “Clash of the Titans” remake should never be touched and “War of the Gods” look better (not the video game adaptation). I was right. I knew right from the start, that “Clash of the Titans” remake was going to suck…and it did. It sucked hard. It possibly the worst remake ever made. I’ve seen many remakes over the years, but I like most of them. “Clash of the Titans” was just pure shit. It was that bad.

The reasons? For starters, Sam Worthington is a terrible choice for a leading actor for Persues. Sam Worthington is a bad actor. I don’t like him too much. I would prefer Paul Walker, Christian Bale or Vin Diesel to play Persues over Sam Worthington. The film was a whole mess all around. Yes it did have action like the original. It did have family humor like the original. It had a mix of scary and dark scenes like the original. It even had a bit of romance like the original.

The few main things that upset me the most in the film were Medusa and the film having no, Bubo the Owl. Why Medusa? If you’ve seen the 1981 original film with Harry Hamlin like I’ve had, the original Medusa is supposed to be very scary looking. As a kid, when I used to watch the original so many times, I used to get scared by the Medusa in the original. That’s it, she’s supposed to be scary as HELL. I didn’t find the new Medusa in the remake, scary one bit. She was almost like a cartoon character. They totally ruined the Medusa scene in the remake.

About Bubo the Owl, if you’ve seen the original, that character was the most important part of the story. Bubo helped Persues along with his adventure. Bubo is that metal owl character you seen in the original. You guess that right, Bubo wasn’t in the remake. Which is probably one of the main reasons I hated the remake. No Bubo, No Clash of the Titans. End of story.

The Kraken was actually kind of cool looking in the remake though, but the scene wasn’t that long. The only good thing about the movie though, is Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes playing in the same scenes together. They stoled the show. The last movie Neeson and Fiennes starred together was Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List”. It was good to see them together again. My question is, why is this movie such a hit? So many people are wasting their $10 on a crapfest remake and I which I can get my $10 back.

Score for “Clash of the Titans” = * (1 star as in “poor”)

Cool Video: “Salt” with Angelina Jolie trailer is here…

Finally the first official teaser trailer for Angelina Jolie’s “Salt”. Hits the web. At first I was a little worried about this film, thinking it was going to be no good. Finally, having to see the trailer, I’m very impressed. Looks to be a great action ride and I’m looking forward to see this. All you local Albany people may find some of the locations in the trailer familiar, ’cause some of the film was filmed in Albany. Mostly the car chases in the highway scenes were filmed in Albany, you can see Albany in the trailer pretty clear here and it’s very cool! Another huge movie filmed in our area! Consider me there at the theaters when it comes out!

Cool Video: “The Expendables” teaser hits the web…Sly, Bruce and Arnie on the same screen???

Well, it’s finally here. Sly finally finished the “Expendables” trailer and released it to the web, exclusively at yahoo. The film looks very good. Very well made trailer. The song playing in the trailer is Godsmack. Sly hired Godsmack himself to write an exclusive song for the movie only. The film looks awesome and can’t wait for it.

I’m very happy for Dolph Lundgren that he’s finally back on the big screen in a huge way. This film will indeed get him out of his straight to DVD career.

Why do we have to wait for August to see this movie? I want to see it NOW!!!!

Report: “Godzilla” coming back to the big screen again, brought to you by Legendary Pictures…

Legendary Pictures, announced they scored the rights to remake “Godzilla” from Japan’s Toho Co. Warner Bros. will release the film and plans to release it in 2012. A director for the film have already been hired, but they will announce who it is sometime in the future. I imagine it will probably be a Japanese director.

Variety Reports:

Lets hope this will be better than the shitty Roland Emmerich remake. None of the new Godzilla remakes were any good anyways. I loved the classic Godzilla Japanese films. I was obsessed with them as a kid.

Wonder if they’ll try and make this version more like JJ Abrams “Cloverfield”.

Legendary pictures claim they will stay true to the Godzilla characters as the Japanese films, but I don’t know. I just have a feeling it will be a 3D CGI full of action effects. It probably will be a computerized CGI Godzilla. Those days of a man wearing a Godzilla costume for film are over.

Cool Video: Dennis Hopper finally gets his Hollywood Star!!!

Congrats to Dennis Hopper. This was long overdue and should have happened a long time ago. Amazing actor. He was good in the movie, “Speed” but he had way better roles. I think his character in “Blue Velvet” was his best role, that movie is so moving and creepy.

It was nice of Jack Nicholson himself to show up to this, you can see old Jack at the end of the video while posing pics for photogs.

Enjoy this great moment here.

Thought: Robin Williams should be the one voicing Popeye for the 3D animated movie…

If Sony films studios wants the new “Popeye” CGI 3D animated to be a hit, then the only actor that they NEED to get to voice Popeye is no one other than, Robin Williams. While I know Robin is TOO OLD to be playing the live action Popeye in a movie, I don’t see why not he could do voice overs for an animated film? Robin has done voice overs for many animated films. Robin does the Popeye voice perfectly and I’m sure he can still do the Popeye voice very well. Do what’s right, Sony! Get Robin for Popeye again!!!! I’m sure he would love to play that character again but in animated form! That would be so sweet if they can get Robin and I’m sure they already have him in mind!!!
