“50 Shades of Grey” trailer is finally here…

Welp. The “50 Shades of Grey” trailer is finally here. While I admittedly did read the first book out of curiosity… I thought it was an okay book but it could have been better. The women claimed the book was hot and steamy but it wasn’t for me, though. I didn’t think it was hot and steamy enough. If you wanna read hot and steamy erotica stories, there is better out there… just forget “50 Shades”.

The “50 Shades” movie is not getting a lot of positive feedback from the ladies. They all love the book but so far, they aren’t liking the way the film looks. They seem to be disappointed with the Christian Grey character with the film. They were expecting an actor to be better looking than that.

I’ll still check out the “50 Shades” movie just not in theater. I’ll wait for rental on it. If Anastasia Steele is not gonna be naked and if the film won’t show her boobies, then the film is gonna be worthless.

I think a better choice of a director to make this movie would have been Lars Von Trier… he would have been perfect, in my opinion. If you see his, “Nymphomaniac” movies… you would see why.

Anyway, when “50 Shades” hits theater, you can very well believe that a lot of women are gonna flock to see it. Not sure how well it’s gonna do in the box office, though. Since the film is getting a lot of negative feedback so far, looks like it’s gonna be a flop.

Happy 75 years, Batman!!!

In celebration of Batman day today, I thought it would be cool to make this post. Like most, I am a pretty huge fan of Batman myself. I love the character. The stories. All the creative villains.

I’m not a very big comic book reader but I did read Batman comics as a kid and sometimes I still read Batman graphic novels.

I’m still a lifelong Batman fan. Obsessively watched the old TV series with Adam West and Burt Ward. Watched all the Batman big screen movies over the years. Out of all the Batman actors over the years: Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney and Christian Bale. You’d have to ask which one who I think was the best Batman??? Some may find this pretty crazy but I always thought Adam West made the best Batman. He felt more realistic and he had personality than all the others. Keaton was great. Bale was pretty good, not amazing but pretty good. Kilmer and Clooney were terrible.

Even though I didn’t think Bale was the greatest Batman, I did love the Nolan movies though. I just liked them for the stories. “Batman: Begins”, “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight: Rises” were all pretty amazing flicks. It really is too bad that Nolan couldn’t do one more Batman flick when he could have if he wanted. He spent many years on the Batman flicks so I can’t blame him for finally wanting to move on. I really wanted to see Nolan’s take on the Riddler and the Penguin.

I think Ben Affleck could do a good job on Batman, though.

Batman is the coolest superhero ever ’cause he’s one of the very few superheroes who doesn’t have any powers. He’s an actual human being who have to fight crime with good fighting skills and gadgets. All of his villains are mostly crazy and insane people with different costumes and makeup.

He’s definitely one of my favorite characters.

I am also looking forward to that new Batman TV show called, “Gotham” which will air on FOX later this Fall… looks like a pretty cool show and I’m gonna check it out to see if it’s any good.

Happy 75 years, Batman and I’m sure there will be 75 years more.

Congratulations Weird Al, he’s gonna get his first no. 1 album this week!!!

After a thirty year long career, Weird Al Yankovic never had a no. 1 album. It’s true. He may have came close to it a couple of times, though. In the Billboard charts, Al is battling Jason Mraz for the no. 1 spot and I think Al Yankovic is definitely gonna get it.

I’m very proud and happy for Al Yankovic. I really am. Al should soon be bigger than Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber in youtube.

I love Al’s idea of no longer releasing albums and rely on youtube to release his music. “Mandatory Fun” is indeed Al’s final album. It doesn’t look like he’s gonna sign with a different label any time soon. He’s just gonna release music exclusively for youtube from this point on. Al have become very successful on the internet last week. I’m proud of him.

“Mandatory Fun” seems to be his best album of his career and I’m gonna buy my own copy soon.

Al Yankovic have been in the music business for many years… even before the days when there was no internet. Because of the internet, a lot of people in this generation are just discovering Weird Al. Many still don’t understand his parody thing so they criticize him for it. That’s understandable ’cause people like that just discovered Weird Al and they don’t know much about him.

I have been a lifelong fan of Weird Al. Been listening to him ever since I was a child. In “Mandatory Fun” he still has that old-school 80’s humor in him, absolutely.

I really respect him for his honesty. Listen to him in interviews. He’s not afraid to say what’s good and what’s bad. He’s also not afraid to agree and disagree with things. For example, in his recent interviews he called out MTV saying how that network is no longer a music station. It’s all reality shows. Man, he’s right. I remember the days when MTV used to be cool. MTV used to be pretty important to Weird Al. I remember when I was a teenager, I would go home from school turn on the TV and switch it to MTV hoping a new Weird Al video would come on ’cause MTV was always playing his videos over the years. He’s so right that youtube is the new MTV.

This is good that he’s doing this ’cause he no longer have to wait for 4 or 5 years to parody a song.

How can you not like Weird Al? His music has always been accused of being for children which is why a lot of adults don’t like him but it’s not true. His music is really for all ages.

Al Yankovic is a genius. How come he isn’t in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet when he totally deserves to be? He’s so worthy!

The “UHF” movie has always been my favorite thing that he did. Now that Weird Al has gotten bigger and more successful, maybe more people would discover that movie which he played the leading role in. The only film that he played the leading role in. I really wish Al Yankovic would do a sequel to “UHF” ’cause that would be awesome if he did one. “UHF” is one of my favorite films of all time. It’s one of those movies you can watch over and over and laugh so hard every time you watch it. I’d like to get that movie on BluRay sometime. If you haven’t seen “UHF”, I’d suggest you check it out yourself.

“Oldboy”… both the American and Korean versions…

Over the weekend, I just watched, “Oldboy” the films based on the Japanese manga which tells the story about a man who gets held captive for 15 – 20 years and when he escapes, he tries to find the people responsible for his kidnapping and tries to get revenge. I watched the Korean version first and then the American version which was directed by Spike Lee.

Both version were honestly pretty good. The story for both of them were pretty intense. Both versions were pretty similar but a little different. While the American version was pretty good, I like the Korean version way more. The Korean version was more powerful and deep. The violence in the Korean version was more graphic than the American version plus the Korean version has more nudity. Wanna see naked Korean women??? That’ll be the version to see.

I’m glad I finally got around to checking the Oldboy films out. I’m not a big Spike Lee fan but I wanted to see his version of “Oldboy” so I can see the difference with the Korean version. Spike Lee did an okay job with his version, though, just could have been better. I didn’t think Josh Brolin fit as the main character, although he is a great actor.

This makes me wanna read the manga series of “Oldboy”. Next time I go to Barnes and Noble, I’ll see if they have them ’cause they do have a manga section. I don’t read manga too much.

Both the American version and Korean version are streamable for Netflix if you subscribe to it. I’d suggest you check out the Korean version, though. That’s the one I’d recommend. If you’re looking for something to watch on Netflix, here you go.

Twin Peaks reunion just happened last night in Los Angeles…

To celebrate the Blu Ray release of “Twin Peaks – The Entire Mystery”, David Lynch himself and the cast of “Twin Peaks” did a huge event in Los Angeles last night to have a premiere to show deleted scenes from the show and the feature film, “Fire Walk With Me”. Guess who showed up? Most everyone from the TV show showed up. Take a look through these photos in the links below and you’ll see a lot of familiar faces from the show… all of these guys showed up: Dr. Jacoby, Leland Palmer, James, Albert, the Log Lady, Lucy, Josie Packard, Shelley, etc.

There are people from the cast missing who didn’t show up though… there’s no Kyle Maclachlan who played Dale Cooper and no Dana Ashbrook who played Bobby… look like they couldn’t make it.

I’m thinking about buying the Twin Peaks Blu Ray set. Probably will.

Good to see the cast again. If David Lynch was successful at reuniting the cast… then he could reunite them for a continuation of the series of some sort. Maybe a third season or another big screen film with the same cast??? Is that where this is all headed to? Will there be a sequel of this show?

Happy 72nd birthday, Harrison Ford!!!

Here is an actor who I’ve always respected. I grew up my entire life watching his movies over the years and I’m sure you’ve had too. Everything from “Star Wars” to “Indiana Jones” to “American Grafitti” to “The Conversation” to his cameo in “Apacolypse Now” to “Patriot Games” to “Regarding Henry” to “Witness” to “Frantic” to “The Fugitive” to “The Devil’s Own” to “Random Hearts” to “Firewall” to “42” to “Ender’s Game” to “Expendables 3” and now “Star Wars Episode VII”.

I’m sure he’s in London somewhere celebrating his birthday today with wife Calista even with an injured leg. I’m almost 100% positive he’d rather be filming Star Wars Episode VII right now instead of nursing an injured leg.

I’ve always respected Harrison, he’s one of my favorite actors.

I’m sure JJ, the film crew and the cast will throw some kind of surprise birthday party for Harrison. Maybe he’ll celebrate with Mark and Carrie too. I’m sure they will.

Daniel Radcliffe says no to returning to Harry Potter and good for him…

J.K. Rowling released a new story of the Harry Potter franchise and sure enough, Daniel Raddcliffe is already asked if he’ll ever reprise his role if Warner Bros. have plans in keeping the franchise going. Daniel says no and he has no plans as of this point.

Read more on the story here:

http://bostonherald.com/entertainment/movies/movie_news/2014/07/daniel_radcliffe_no_plans_to_reprise_harry_potter_role

Daniel spent most of his life playing the Harry Potter role. He played the role since he was a little child obviously so let the guy move on already! He is probably sick of it and wants to move on to other projects.

Why did J.K. write that story (which I plan on reading soon)? Is she planning on continuing the books?

I would say that I am a Harry Potter fan. I’ve read all the books and seen all the movies. I know the stories are aimed for young children and women but I dig the stories and the characters. I think Dumbledore and Voldemort are great characters.

I also visited the Harry Potter theme park at Universal Studios in Orlando one year and it was amazing stuff. I didn’t buy anything there… just enjoyed the look-around.

Harrison Ford’s injury halts filming for “Star Wars Episode VII” for two weeks…

JJ Abrams and the cast & crew of “Star Wars: Episode VII” have decided to halt filming for two weeks so they can give Harrison Ford more time to heal. While announcing the film’s break, they just signed two new cast members to join the film. Don’t get too excited though ’cause the two new cast members are completely unknowns.

http://www.mercurynews.com/entertainment/ci_26102561/harrison-fords-injury-delay-star-wars-episode-vii

A lot of people want to blame Harrison’s old age like I mistakenly did. Maybe I was wrong to blame Harrison’s age. I mean, the accident might not be Harrison’s fault but maybe it was the film crew’s fault, they weren’t actually paying attention.

Man, that’s gotta really suck when an actor gets signed for a huge role and then he gets injured when starting to work.

Hopefully, they’ll be more careful next time when Harrison returns.

Film Review: Deliver Us From Evil

Starring: Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez

Directed by: Scott Derrickson

Today, I have just seen the newest horror film, “Deliver Us From Evil” which is based on a true events. I was gonna do this review on a videoblog but I don’t really feel like going through all that work so I’ll just do the review quickly on here.

Plot/synopsis: New York police officer Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Edgar Ramirez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city. Based upon the book, which details Sarchie’s bone-chilling real-life cases.

This story is based on upon the real life story of NYC police officer Ralph Sarchie as you just read above. This film mostly got negative reviews but why? I went to see this one ’cause I LOVE horror films for one and I also love movies about demonic possession. There have been many demonic possession movies over the years. They just keep coming and coming but most demonic possession films in the past were goofy and silly as hell with the exception of “The Exorcist” which is obviously the best movie about possession.

This movie here, “Deliver Us From Evil” makes demonic possession more realistic and more believable. However, this isn’t really a straight up horror film… it’s also a cop drama that involves demons. This film is not just about people being possessed it’s about a police officer becoming a demonogolist which is a systematic study of demons or beliefs in demons.

I thought, “Deliver Us From Evil” was a great horror film. I thought a lot of it was pretty scary and disturbing. This film seemed like a mix of “The Exorcist” and “Se7en” mixed into one. This film felt like David Fincher could have directed it. I thought the script was well-written and well-acted by cast. Eric kills it in this role.

This film will keep you guessing and will keep you at the edge of your seat all the way through. There are some disturbing and graphic moments throughout the film. It has a good exorcism scene at the end too. The film was entertaining as hell and I thought it was great. I wasn’t bored one bit.

Two thumbs up.

New photo of Superman released for “Superman vs. Batman: Dawn of Justice”…

Superman

GeorgeReeves

The first photo above is the new screen shot still from “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice” released by Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. As you can see there has been a slight change in Superman’s costume and look. Superman’s hair is different. As you can see they combed it back which is kind of like a homage to George Reeves, Superman. I see that Snyder is still avoiding the S curl in Superman’s hair which is good.

In Cavill’s new costume, the abs are slightly different and the cape looks kind of different too.

I’m liking it!

I’m sure we’ll see another pic of Ben as Batman soon and we’ll get to see what color the new suit is for Ben’s Batman. I’m sure they’ll give us a pic of the new Wonder Woman too. They’ll give us a pic of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor too.

Jason Momoa has been signed to play AquaMan but nobody has been casted for the Flash or the Green Lantern yet. It’ll be interesting on who they’ll cast for the Flash and the Green Lantern.
