Aussie actor Mel Gibson shows off his buff arms while in Los Angeles

 

This photo was shot by TMZ, I believe. Mel Gibson spotted in public in the streets of Los Angeles. Here he is on his way to a gym. Look like Mel took advice from Sly that he should get buffed up for EXP3. Look like Mel has been working out for a long while now. It also looks he is committed to this role and he is taking it pretty seriously.

Looking good, Mr. Mel Gibson! Pretty impressive for a middle aged guy! Look like Mel wants to get into the action and have major fight scenes. Can’t wait to see Sly vs. Mel now!

Ben Affleck is your new Batman and here are my thoughts…

Like most, I am pretty surprised they picked Ben Affleck as the new Batman for the “Man of Steel” sequel. Warner Bros. announced the surprising news last night. Wow. They were pretty quick on hiring the new Batman so it looks like they’re in a rush. You see? Zack Snyder works fast, I wasn’t joking around.

To be honest, I think Ben is the perfect choice to play the role. Ben seems to be a fan of comics and superheroes himself as he has already played Daredevil, once for Marvel. The team behind the “Batman and Superman” film were looking for a slightly older Batman. I guess that’s the reason why Ben was picked ’cause he fit that perfectly. All the Batman’s from the past: Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, and Christian Bale were all pretty young at the time when they were first hired for their roles. Ben in his 40’s. This would make Ben the 5th Batman actor.

A lot of people online are trashing their choice of Ben playing the new Batman/Bruce Wayne but give him a chance. I think Ben is gonna be great. He’s gonna look great in the suit, I’m sure. The Batman suit is probably gonna be a black and rubber suit again but hopefully they give it a new style. New look and new color. They changed the Superman suit around, some, they’re probably gonna do the same with the Batman suit. I’m looking forward to seeing what Ben is gonna look like in the Batman suit so I’m sure Warner Bros. will release a photo of it soon to show us.

In Ben’s defense, I think he’s a very talented actor. He always has been. He can play any role that throws at him, no matter the genre. Sounds like Warner Bros. want to give Batman a different feeling and Ben would be great for that. Give Ben a chance and don’t be so quick to judge. He’s gonna be awesome! I think Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck will be a great team-up!

Why movie reviews have slowed on this site this summer…

There are so many movies I wanted to see that came out this summer but can’t go and watch them because why? Simply because, there is no movie theater around my area. At the Wilton Mall they closed down Regal Cinemas so this left my area no movie theater at all. It closed down earlier this year. It’s a shame. There’s too many movies this summer I’ve been wanting to see and will probably have to wait for DVD rental for all of them. I’ve wanted to see: “The Wolverine”, “The Conjuring”, “Pacific Rim”, “Kick-Ass 2”,  and “Elysium”. Those were the only movies I was interested in seeing this summer. I would have went and saw them all if there was a movie theater open in my area. There is going to be a new movie theater opening around here pretty soon. Bow Tie Cinemas will be taken its place at the Wilton Mall. I hear that the new place won’t open sometime around the Fall so it’s gonna be a while longer for me to go out and start seeing new movies again. I do miss going to the movies ’cause as you all know, going to the movies is one of my favorite things to do.

At least I got to see, “Man of Steel”, and “Fast and Furious 6”, earlier this summer though. Both of them were great films too.

Report: Mel Gibson is official for “Expendables 3” and his character revealed!!!

The official “Expendables” site announced the official casting for the next installment to the Expendables franchise.

Apparently, Mel Gibson is definitely on board. Look like Mel is gonna be the main villain for EXP3. The name of his character is Conrad Stonebanks, and he was one of the Expendables founding members who turned into a ruthless arms dealer.

The original cast: Dolph, Randy, Terry, Jason, and Jet will be coming back.

Additional cast will include Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford, and Antonio Banderas. Look like Sly will be re-teaming with two of the cast members. Sly played in, “Demolition Man” with Wesley and Sly played in “Assassins” with Antonio Banderas.

As you can see, Sly always had Mel’s support. The photo above looks like an older pic of Mel and Sly together at some event. Even though Mel may seem like a weird and crazy guy, Sly tells Access Hollywood last year in this video that people shouldn’t be so quick to judge him.

I think Sly just wants to help his friend, Mel Gibson. He wants to try to inspire people to be more forgiven of Mel. After all the Mel Gibson controversy in the news the last several years, I think Mel deserves a second chance in Hollywood. He deserves to be forgiven. Whether you like Mel Gibson or not, he’s still a very talented man. Great director, writer, and actor. Mel is still doing violent action films to this day so I think he would be a perfect choice for the Expendables.

I gotta wonder how difficult Mel was when Sly tried to ask him for this film? I bet Mel was a real hard ass but Sly never gave up to get him in this movie. Sly wanted Mel in this movie pretty badly and he got him. Congrats Sly! Looking forward to it!

After Ashton Kutcher revealing his real name publicly, I thought it would be fun to go around looking for other actors & actresses in Hollywood who has done the same thing. Change their birth names for film and TV work.

Here we go, I’ll name ten of them:

  • Sylvester Stallone – Yes, believe it or not. Sylvester is not his real first name. His real first name was Michael. The name Sylvester is part of his middle name too. Sly’s real birth name is Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone.
  • Nicolas Cage – Cage was born under Nicolas Kim Coppola. I guess he had to change his last name to help avoid confusion with his film maker uncle, Francis Ford Coppola.
  • Marilyn Monroe – Everyone should know that her real name was Norma Jean Mortenson.
  • Michael Caine – Caine was born Maurice Micklewhite.
  • Michael Keaton – Keaton was born Michael John Douglas, yes, this is the guy who is most famous for Batman and Beetlejuice.
  • Charlie Sheen – Charlie was born as Carlos Estevez. He stars in “Machete Kills” under that birthname.
  • Bruce Willis – The same with Ashton, Bruce was actually his middle name. Real birth name, Walter Bruce Willis.
  • Whoopi Goldberg – She was born Caryn Elaine Johnson.
  • Natalie Portman – She was born Natalie Hershlag.
  • Dolph Lundgren – The Rocky IV and Expendables star was born Hans Lundgren.

I didn’t list Arnold Schwarzenegger ’cause that is his real birth name. I’m sure you can find many more if you do google.

The best Star Trek movies ranked in order…

The Star Trek official page posted this interesting image… ranking the best Star Trek movies in order that was chosen by fans at a Star Trek convention. Here is the entire Star Trek filmography ranked in order from best to worst.

Some of you may scratch your head at this list and ask yourself, “Why is Galaxy Quest listed there?”. “Galaxy Quest” is a comedy film starring Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver. The film is also a homage to Star Trek, a tribute kind of thing. That’s why the movie made the list. It’s a parody of Trek.

I agree with this list. It’s pretty well done.

I agree that the first four listed on here are the best ones of them all. “The Wrath of Khan” was the best Trek movie of the original series and “First Contact” was the best of the TNG series. I did like the “Undiscovered Country” and “The Voyage Home”.

All the other Star Trek films needed a little work. To be honest with you, I never really cared for the JJ Abrams reboot. I never saw, “Star Trek Into Darkness” in theater. I was gonna wait for rental on that one. What’s wrong with Star Trek? Is this franchise dying? The reason for the reboot with younger cast is ’cause the TNG cast retired and moved on… Paramount Pictures can’t think of new ideas so they decided to reboot the series. I’m a huge Star Trek fan and would like this franchise to improve. When you come to think of it, I’m glad JJ is leaving “Star Trek” for “Star Wars” ’cause it’s a good opportunity to improve the franchise. I didn’t like JJ behind Star Trek, anyway. Way too much lens flare and the CGI gave me a headache.

Star Trek needs to be saved, big time. I don’t like where it’s going. It’ll be nice if we get one last Next Generation movie, though. That’ll be great if Picard and the rest of the gang will reunite for one last film but I don’t see that happening anytime soon sadly. Seems like the entire TNG cast is done. They spent most of their lives working on the franchise so I guess a retirement for all of them is well-deserved.

I love Star Trek. I grew up on the franchise. Have been a Trekkie ever since I was a child.

Cool Video: “Captain Phillips” starring Tom Hanks actually looks very impressive!!!

When Captain Phillips was held captive by pirates, it all seemed like an action movie happening in real life. Sure enough, Hollywood had to make a movie about it and here it is. The first teaser trailer of the film starring Tom Hanks as Captain Phillips. The film is directed by Paul Greengrass. Tom Hanks haven’t been in a great movie in the last 10 years or so and I hope he’ll redeem himself with this one. Tom Hanks in another adventure movie kind of like, “Cast Away”.

Bruce Willis wanted a bigger payday for “EXP3” but I’m still siding with him…

The reason Harrison Ford replaced Bruce Willis is ’cause Bruce wanted a bigger payday. Sly and the film crew offered him $3 million for four days; however, Bruce ended up wanting $4 million so that’s $1 million a day. That’s a high payment that Sly and the film crew couldn’t afford.

To be honest, I can totally respect Bruce’s decision. I don’t see how he’s “greedy” and “lazy” for wanting to be paid more, ya know? Bruce is the world’s most famous actor. Well-known for the “Die Hard” movies which is what he is most famous for. He also had many other major roles such as “Pulp Fiction”, “12 Monkeys”, “The Fifth Element”, “The Sixth Sense”, “Armageddon”, “Red”, etc. Bruce is more iconic and famous than Stallone/Arnold and all the other actors in the Expendables cast. So I think he deserves to get paid more ’cause of his legendary status. I think that’s a huge part of why he wants to get paid more. If other film makers can afford to get Bruce, then Sly and the crew could probably afford him. So I think Sly is the one being “greedy” and “lazy”. Sly’s a rich man. He can absolutely afford the $4 million payment Bruce asked for.

Don’t blame this all on Bruce. All actors have different views and feelings on how they want to get paid. Bruce is a big name so I can blame him.

Sly and Bruce Willis not getting along? That’s why Harrison Ford was brought in for “EXP3”???

Sylvester Stallone, revealed some shocking news that Bruce Willis is out of the Expendables 3 and Harrison Ford is taking his place. Then Sly publicly slammed Bruce on twitter by calling him, “Greedy” and “Lazy”. So something must be going on between the two.

Sly and Bruce have been friends for many years. They run Planet Hollywood chains together. It’s looking like they aren’t getting along anymore. Well, that’s what you get when you make movies that are full of iconic stars. Ego’s will get in the way and that’s what it’s all about, in my opinion. I do love Sly and all but sometimes I feel he can be a bit of a dick to his stars. I’ll never forget how he treated Van Damme before they reconciled. Sly has a bit of an ego problem himself sometimes.

It is good news that Harrison is on board for the next EXP’s film, though. I always wanted to see him and Sly star in a movie together.

I wonder what Bruce will have to say about this. I’m sure he’ll respond soon when the media bugs him about it.

Report: Tom Hiddleston confirms Loki will NOT be in “Avengers 2” but WILL be in “Thor 2″…

Rumors been going strong for a long while now that Loki is not going to be in the sequel for “The Avengers” but Tom Hiddleston the man who plays Loki just confirmed he’s not going to be in it. Why is Loki not going to be in the “Avengers 2”? Well, Tom says they can’t think of anything else they can do with the character and they want to give other villains a chance which makes a lot of sense.

Tom Hiddleston has grown a large fanbase since the first “Avengers” movie but his fanbase is mostly women. Apparently, young women have the hots for this character and they were dying for their Loki to be in the “Avengers 2”. I find it pretty odd that people would go crazy over Loki for “The Avengers” when he was already in the first “Thor” movie. Loki is a pretty cool villain and Mr. Hiddleston is a good actor. While it may be disappointing that he won’t be in the “Avengers 2”, Tom says Loki won’t be going away anytime soon ’cause he’s still going to be in “Thor 2”. So if you ladies out there need your Loki fix, “Thor 2” is the way to go.

You gotta love Tom’s response about Loki not being in the Avengers movie. He sounded so down to earth and humble about it, too! In his response, you can tell he was very careful not to upset fans and tries to get people excited for “Thor 2” instead. Most actors are very rude when they respond about not reprising their roles but Tom was pretty cool about it. He seems like a pretty cool dude!

Maybe Loki can even get his own spin-off movie someday? I wouldn’t be surprised if he does get one! Tom is extremely popular because of the Avengers movie. In fact, I never even heard of this actor myself until he landed the role for the first “Thor” film. Loki is a pretty likeable villain.
