Will Metallica attend Morgan’s funeral?

The Harrington family might invite the boys in Metallica to attend her funeral but will they attend? I don’t know. They might. They are too busy touring in Brazil right now. The band is not going to be back in the states until later this year in the Summer. If they’re invited, who knows, Metallica might be committed in attending, take a few days off of touring overseas to fly back to Charlotesville to support the family. It be nice if the boys would come back to the states to support her family but the shows must go on. They’re a very busy band.

Report: Perez Hilton wants to take over Simon Cowell…and I agree with it!!!!

I usually hate this guy, Perez Hilton, the gossip blogger, but he wants to take over Simon Cowell. Simon announced early he’s leaving American Idol for good after this season is over with. I’ve actually been thinking about Perez taking over. He’s the king of controversy in the media. His blog site is very popular and with Perez being on A.I. would indeed, help raise the ratings. I can definitely see him being meaner than Simon. Perez is a good pick. I’d say they should get him, I’m serious about this. I doubt FOX would get him, they’re probably gonna go with Piers Morgan instead. Either choice would make me happy. Either Perez or Piers Morgan would work.

BREAKING NEWS: Morgan Harrington, missing Metallica fan found but….dead…

I am very sad for this news. The news broke today that Morgan Harrington, the young Virginia Tech Student who is a die hard Metallica fan was found dead on a farm. Police are pretty sure the skeletal remains are hers. This is sad, heartbreakin’. I hope her killers are found and put away for life.

I’m sure the boys in Metallica are pretty heartbroken and upset by this news as well.

Look like she got a ride with the wrong people after the Metallica concert. See, not everyone is going to be your friend in this world. To anyone that goes out alone like this, have to think it’s never safe to go anywhere anymore.

Metallica tried their best to help find her too. More importantly, I feel more sorry for her family.

Cool Video: Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” hits DVD this week…here’s a clip of “Earth Song” from the film…

Well, Michael Jackson’s concert movie, “This is It” just hit the DVD stores today. I plan to go to the mall this Thursday for something to do since I have this week off of work. While I’m doing fun shopping for myself later this week, I will also pick up “This is It” movie. I suggest all to see it. Even the haters should see it as well. To those that don’t like MJ, once you see this film, maybe you would gain more respect for the guy after. I still stand by it by my review of this movie that MJ wasn’t a fake. He didn’t lip synch this rehearsal, you would know when you see this film, he directed the whole concert himself and had complete control of everything himself. He certainly had a vision indeed. Michael Jackson was a perfectionist and he certainly will not give up until he gets what he wants.

I also forgot to predict that “This Is It” could get a nomination for Best Picture at the Oscars as well.

Report: Radiohead’s guitarist Ed O’ Brien defends piracy on music….

One of Radiohead’s guitarists, Ed O’ Brien, spoke out on internet piracy on music and says it doesn’t hurt the music industry at all. I agree with him. He makes a point that pirates don’t spend their money on albums, that they rather get their music for free online, while pirates would rather spend their money on concert tickets, t-shirts, etc.

More on it here:

Honestly, I always knew that piracy didn’t hurt the music industry. Around the Napster free days, I was downloading songs from Napster for free all the time back then before Lars Ulrich came around and started this war against Napster.

I always saw people downloading songs for free as a way to promote a music artist. It helps gets the artist recognized.

I don’t pirate music at all now ’cause I don’t want to get sued by the RIAA.

CD Review: Lisa Hannigan’s “Sea Sew”…

So at the gym, I listened to Lisa Hannigan’s 2008 released album, “Sea Sew” on my Ipod. Those who don’t know her, she’s an Irish musician from Dublin. She’s only 28 years old and the chick has a lot of talent. Her voice is amazingly haunting and sends chills down your spine. Her music maybe folk and Irish, but if you listen to her songs, you would feel the intensity get you in, immediately. There’s something about her haunting voice that draws you to her music. This is the way music is supposed to be played. With feeling, with heart, and with emotion. She does all of that. Her songs can actually get tight. Her backing band, sounds wonderful too. No complaints about this album at all as I loved it all the way through. She has become my new favorite female artist and she is beautiful as well. This is the way I want to hear music. Music with great songwriting. You don’t have to be a virtuoso musician to make great music. All you need is some chords, some lyrics, and some talent, there you have it. Lisa Hannigan is amazing and I find her the best singer/songwriter, I ever listened to in a long time. Listen to a few of her audio tracks here. Be amazed.

Report: Charlie Daniels, suffered stroke while snowmobiling…

Charlie Daniels, the legendary violinist coutry man, suffered a stroke while snowmobiling in Colorado. The legend was released from the hospital and seems to be recovering well. He has no plans to cancel his upcoming tour dates.

More on it here:

Good on Charlie for not cancelling the gigs even though he just had a stroke. If you’re not well, play the shows anyways! That’s being profesional!

Charlie Daniels is one of the talented country musicians. He is great!

Report: Jay-Z set to headline Coachella this year and many other bands…

The reunited Soundgarden was rumoured to be headlining this year’s, Coachella festival, but looks like they didn’t get the gig. Jay-Z will be headlining the entire festival. Other acts include Them Crooked Vultures, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Muse, Faith No More, MGMT, Devo, Les Claypool, and many more.

This year’s lineup is kind of dissapointing. Jay-Z? Why are all these rock festivals are all over this guy? I’m no Jay-Z fan and not a fan of rap that much.

I wonder if Soundgarden is going to play any festivals this year since they are coming back. Will Soundgarden headline the UK festival, Glastonbury? Who knows.

See the entire Coachella lineup here:

The only bands that would be worth watching there, in my opinion would be Them Crooked Vultures, Phoenix, Les Claypool, Faith No More and that is probably all. Seeing Faith No More would be incredible. I’ve been a Faith No More and Mike Patton fan for a long time.

I don’t like Vampire Weekend and don’t like MGMT. Devo is alright, but they were good back in the 80’s, don’t know how them has beens would sound like now.
