Taylor Swift, only into the music business for the money alone? Seems like it…

Each time a new music streaming service comes out, chances are it’s not gonna make a few artists happy. They’re always gonna complain and whine about it. They’ll always make claims that they should get paid for the hard work that they do. All music artists are different. Some are in the music business to get heard and some are in it just for the money alone.

While Taylor Swift is a very talented music artist, I’m not ashamed to say that she’s one of the very few pop artists that I like… I’m gonna say that I disagree with her views on “streaming” services.

http://money.cnn.com/2015/06/21/media/taylor-swift-1989-apple-music/

She should see it as an opportunity to get herself heard and to get herself promoted/marketed… while I’m sure she does, she just wants to get paid for it. She’s one of the few artists who are in it for the money alone.

She should listen to Dave Grohl’s advice when it comes to music on the internet. Dave Grohl is all about people listening to his music for free. He doesn’t care. Dave is clearly not about the money at all. He’s even all for piracy and allows fans to steal Foo Fighters music. He knows that music is waiting to get heard so he’s not dumb at all. So it’s safe to say that Dave is not into the music business for the money at all and he made that statement many times.

Most artists today really are greedy when it comes to music. They should feel proud that people wanna listen to their music for free. They should be flattered that a fan listened to it and enjoying it but nope. When certain artists like Taylor Swift finds out that fans listen to their music for free or has been pirated… they get all butt hurt about it.

I’d be flattered if people pirated my songs or even stole them. I don’t care. I don’t mind giving out my music for free at all. I don’t like forcing people to pay for my music. When I make it, I get it out. Make it all downloadable. I will continue to do that.

The Grateful Dead, Phish and the Allman Brothers are three of the greatest jam bands…

On Spotify, I’ve been listening to quite a lot of Grateful Dead. So far, I’ve listened to 5 albums by them. They are: The Grateful Dead (Self titled), Aoxomoxoa, Workingman’s Dead, Blues For Allah and Go To Heaven.

I’m trying to listen to all of the Dead’s studio albums. I’ve always been a Dead fan for years. In the past though, I wasn’t much of a Deadhead. I didn’t buy much of their albums. I just listened to the dead when friends & family members listened to them. I think I wanna start buying some Grateful Dead music myself and soon I’ll start collecting all of their studio albums from Itunes.

I wanna start listening to Phish a lot more too ’cause I’ve been listening to Phish for a long time and even saw them in concert a couple of times. I really like PHish a lot.

As for the Allman Brothers, I’m a huge fan of that band and have most of their albums.

I like jam band and hippie music, sure. It’s just that I would listen to the Dead, Phish and the Allman Bros. ’cause those three bands are my favorite. I don’t have to be a stoner or a drug addict to listen to that music. I listen to it ’cause I enjoy it. I just think that kind of music is fun to listen to. I don’t have to be a hippie to enjoy it which I’m not a hippie at all. I listen to these bands ’cause I just love the improvisational jams which is what I listen to them for. I know jam band music isn’t for everybody but I happen to enjoy this stuff.

I don’t know why the jam band industry gets so much hatred and disrespect. I understand that the drugs is part of the problem but I just love ’em for the music, ya know? That’s what it should have been about. It’s just fun music to listen to. I just love to listen to that kind of guitar playing. Plus the songwriting can get really good and some of these bands can come up with very good vocal melodies.

All three of these bands are inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame except for Phish, though. Phish absolutely deserves an induction in the Hall of Fame. Love Phish or hate ’em, they accomplished a lot in the industry and that band continues to be very successful. Phish should be respected. I like improv jams and I listen to this stuff for my own inspiration of guitar playing.

Sammy Hagar calls out Eddie Van Halen on “Showing Michael Anthony what to play” comments…

What’s with Eddie Van Halen trash talking his former and current band members of Van Halen? Is Eddie back on the booze again? Eddie did an interview with Billboard magazine and in it he said some pretty hateful things about David Lee Roth, Gary Cherone and Michael Anthony. In this interview… Eddie claims that he and DLR aren’t friends and sounds like he was criticizing David’s hairstyle and his taste in music.

Then he goes on to say some harsh things about their former bassist, Michael Anthony… claiming that he had to teach him how to play all the bass parts for the Van Halen songs. Eddie also went on to claim that all the back up vocals in Van Halen around the time Anthony was in the band weren’t his vocals, they were actually Eddie’s. Is Eddie trying to make Michael Anthony look like an amatuer and trying to take credit for the backup vocals? That’s what it’s looking like to me.

https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/6605492/eddie-van-halen-michael-anthony-david-lee-roth-feud-gary-cherone

Anyway, Sammy Hagar here read the Billboard interview and he isn’t happy about it. Sammy made a video here, calling Eddie out. Sammy says Eddie is a liar and tries to explain that Michael Anthony is actually a pro! Sammy knows from experience ’cause he used to be a member of Van Halen!

Wow! So Eddie is willing to trash talk all of his members of Van Halen except for Alex and Wolfgang. Why won’t he talk shit about Alex and Wolfgang? Well, obviously because they are Eddie’s family. Alex is Eddie’s brother and Wolfgang is Eddie’s son.

After reading Eddie’s comments about his past and current bandmates, I am now starting to see why Van Halen had too many problems over the years. Maybe it’s because Eddie is an asshole?

Courtney Love fails to shut down release of “Soaked in Bleach”, movie theaters continues release as planned…

It’s a good thing that movie theaters across the country just gave Courtney Love the middle finger and said, “We’re releasing ‘Soaked In Bleach’ anyways”. Courtney’s attorneys sent cease & desist letters to movie theaters across the country hoping to stop the release of “Soaked In Bleach” but they failed. Movie theaters just ignored her and released the movie as planned. How did this happen? Well, the Supreme Court had a ruling that gave them free speech rights to release the film…

CRACKED DOLL: Courtney Love Fails to Stop Doc ‘Soaked In Bleach’ with Cease and Desist Letter

I don’t know about you but I think the Kurt Cobain death case should be reopened. We gotta somehow convince Frances Bean to make that happen. I mean… doesn’t she want the real truth of what really happened to her father? Even she still believes that her father committed suicide. Hopefully Frances Bean herself sees this film and maybe it’ll help open her eyes more.

I’ve had a feeling that Kurt was actually murdered for a pretty long time. I still stand by that today.

Why would Courtney kill her own husband? Well for one to take his fame and his money. Remember now, her album with Hole “Live Through This” was released shortly after his death. She did it to boost her career and to own the rights to Nirvana’s music so she can get profits from it.

Iron Maiden announces new studio album titled, “The Book of Souls” to be released Sept. 4th…

Metal legends, Iron Maiden, just announced today that their new studio album, “The Book of Souls” will be released this year on Sept. 4th. Which is good news ’cause I’m a pretty big Iron Maiden fan. I don’t have all of their albums though, just a few of them. I just have a greatest hits album of theirs and I have their previous album, “The Final Frontier”. Will be looking forward to this one too. Look above for the track listing for “Book of Souls”.

This year looks like a decent year for rock music… Dream Theater, Joe Satriani, Lamb of God, etc. They all have new albums coming out this year.

Now if Metallica will ever get their album confirmed?

Welp, here we go… Courtney Love trying to stop release of “Soaked in Bleach” film…

I toldjaso! I knew Courtney Love was gonna be pissed about the “Soaked In Bleach” film which is about to expose her cover-up of murdering Kurt Cobain.

Of course she’s in favor of the “Montage of Heck” documentary ’cause that film makes her look too good. She’s trying to stop the release of “Soaked In Bleach” ’cause she knows that film is about ready to expose the truth about her.

She’s getting scared to death that she’s about ready to get in trouble.

http://pitchfork.com/news/60004-courtney-love-sends-cease-and-desist-to-kurt-cobain-documentary-soaked-in-bleach/

She tried to do the same with the Nick Broomfield documentary, “Kurt & Courtney” by not allowing to have any of Nirvana’s music played during that film.

If Courtney Love is not talking and won’t take responsibility for anything, then she’s definitely hiding something and looking more guilty.

Courtney is a cunt and always has been.

I really wanna see “Soaked in Bleach”. I’ll wait to see it when it comes on BluRay or maybe when Itunes Movies make it available for rent and maybe Netflix will stream it?

Siouxsie and the Banshees, I’ve been really digging this band a lot! WOW!!!

Final post for the night so I thought I would get this post out of the way.

I’ve been digging this band called, Siouxsie and The Banshees. I’ve heard of them. Just never listened to them before. I got interested in wanting to check them out after reading about them in Billy Idol’s book.

Siouxsie and the Banshees is really good stuff. I was listening to them on Spotify on my Ipod while running on the treadmill at the gym earlier this afternoon. I was listening to their BEST OF compilation.  I really enjoyed what I heard so I’ll probably buy my own copy of their Best Of album.

Yeah, I know Siouxsie and the Banshees have been around for years and I’m real late getting into them,  I know.

I really dig Siouxsie’s singing voice and the songs are fun.

Here are a few of my favorites tunes…

Donald Trump and Neil Young are still friends, despite Neil not letting him use his song…

Since the news broke out today that Neil Young said that the Donald was not authorized to use his song “Rockin’ In the Free World” at his president announcement at Trump Tower, this news got libtards all excited. I’ve seen a lot of dumb posts and comments in Facebook, begging Neil Young to sue. Look like that’s not gonna happen ’cause despite Neil not letting Trump use his song, they’re still friends so it looks like a lawsuit isn’t gonna happen. Sorry to disappoint you libtards.

Trump defended himself and claims he did get the rights for the song but he will respect the musician’s wish if he doesn’t want him to use it.

Neil himself wrote a statement on his facebook page as you can see above… clarifying that he makes music for people and not for Presidential candidates.

Even though it may look like that they’re enemies over the use of the song, they’re not enemies at all. Neil is just trying to protect his music which he has the right to do.

http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-06-17/donald-trump-i-love-neil-young-and-he-loves-me-

Just more proof how dumb and childish libtards really are.

Anyway, while I am a huge Neil Young fan and have a lot of his albums… I skipped his previous album “Storytone” and I’m gonna skip his next one too ’cause I don’t believe in this save the world and get rid of GMO stuff. I’m not interested in that stuff but I still think Neil makes amazing music even though he is a liberal guy.

Just got Spotify back…

In the past, I didn’t agree with Spotify. I used to have Spotify on my PC but I had to get rid of it to help free up some space on my computer. Now that you can finally listen to Spotify for free on the Ipad, I decided to install the Spotify app for my Ipad. Spotify could be pretty useful ’cause I could listen to an album I wanna hear in Spotify and if I like the album enough, I could buy it from Itunes.

Will I become a Spotify premium subscriber? Well, I just went for their free 7 day trial. Not sure if I’ll pay for the $10 a month subscription.

I’m planning on listening to Al Di Meola’s new album “Elysium” on there today… I didn’t get that album from Itunes yet. I’m also planning on listening to the new Faith No More record, “Sol Invictus”, the new Mumford & Sons album “Wilder Mind” and the new album by the Heartless Bastards.

I love listening to music. It’s something I’ve always done ever since I was a little kid. When I was a little kid, I used to listen to albums on vinyl and cassette tapes when they used to be around but then Compact Discs took over. Now here comes the world of digital music with Itunes & Spotify. I heard that Itunes is planning on jumping the streaming music bandwagon to rival against Spotify but I’ll stick with Spotify, I think.

Why people shouldn’t knock shred guitar music…

If you look through guitar forums, facebook and blogs… you would sometimes see guitarists knocking shred guitar. Some would make claims that shred guitar is boring. They don’t like hearing fast notes all the time and they think that it all sounds the same. They make claims that you can’t make anything sound musical when you’re playing like 100 notes or over. You see, I disagree. It’s unfair that people bash shred music.

In shred guitar, you can make fast notes sound musical. Go listen to Al Di Meola and Joe Satriani then you would see what I mean. Those guys can make fast notes as if someone is singing a song. Both of these guys are my heroes and I love their music so much. It is possible that you can make fast notes sound musical, don’t listen to the nay sayers. I think people knock shred music ’cause they’re a little jealous that they can’t play like that and they want to.

I’ve always been into shred guitar. I’m not much of a fan of Steve Vai although I do respect the hell out of him too, I just never bought his albums that much. The only album I own by Steve Vai is “Passion and Warfare”. I should get into more Steve Vai though. I just started getting into Eric Johnson. I also listen to Animals as Leaders and that is shred music. I don’t listen to Yngwie Malmsteen at all but I should get into him too.

Shred music can be a lot of fun to listen to and I admit, I would like to get into that style of guitar playing myself. I wanna play like that and that’s what I’m aiming for. In fact, that’s the whole reason I picked up the guitar to begin with ’cause I was hoping to play like that someday and become great.

Shred music takes a lot of skill and talent to get there so that’s another reason you shouldn’t knock shred guitar. I listen to this kind of music a lot ’cause I just love good guitar playing. This kind of music says something to you. I’ve been getting into more instrumental music lately than music with vocals, ya know? I’ve always thought about making instrumental music on my own. Shredders don’t noodle around at all even though they’ve been accused of that. They take what they do seriously.

I love shred guitar music and I’ve getting into it more and more.
