Do you like the Doors? If so… you’re gonna LOVE this app!!!

To all you Ipad and Iphone users, if you like the Doors, then this app is definitely worth a look:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-doors/id609344635?mt=8

The preview maybe free but to get the full app would cost like $2.99, I think. Not too bad.

The Warner Bros. label did a great job with that app. I was actually pretty impressed with it. Lots of detailed history on the band. Band photos. Lyrics. All kinds of goodies!

You can even listen to all of their albums on there but of course, you have to buy the albums from Itunes if you wanna listen to the full albums on there.

This app makes me wanna buy the Doors music for my Ipod.

I’ve always been a huge fan of the Doors myself.

The app is not just for die-hards… it can be for newbies too. If you’re not into the Doors that much or never listen to them… that app is a great opportunity to learn more about the band.

I know this app came out last year but Warner Music is promoting this app again now ’cause they made some updates with it.

Definitely check this app out!

I hope they start making apps like this for other legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Allman Brothers, Black Sabbath, etc.

The Foo Fighters steal the show with the Ice Bucket…

This is the best one yet. The Foo Fighters parody the Stephen King movie, “Carrie”, the Brian Depalma version. Check it out. It’s hilarious. This will give you the LOL’s.

Dave Grohl is no stranger to wearing drag… remember back in his Nirvana days now.

Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam does the ice bucket and challenges Bruce Springsteen…

Here’s another pretty good ice bucket… Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam. Eddie’s speech is pretty funny if you can understand what he’s saying, lol. He seems like a cool dude, though!

Eddie challenges Bruce Springsteen, the Boss. I hope Springsteen does it. Will Bruce do it? We’ll have to wait and see on that one too.

Weird Al does the ice bucket challenge and challenges Obama…

Here is Weird Al’s ice bucket…

Yeah, I know the Kennedy’s already challenged Obama but Obama chickened out and sent in a donation instead. Everybody wants to see Obama do it. As much I hate Obama… I’d have to say admittedly that I would like to see Obama’s ice bucket challenge. I’m curious to see Obama’s reaction when he gets a bucket of ice water dumped on him.

Why won’t Obama do it? Is he afraid of ice cold water? No. I don’t think he is. I think the reason he wouldn’t do it ’cause he’s too important for that. He already humiliated himself with Michelle’s running video and he humiliated himself again with that exercise video that got leaked to the web. I think he just doesn’t want to humiliate himself again over the ice bucket thing.

I can see the left and right’s reaction if they see Obama do the ice bucket challenge. The left will give him the kudos for it, the right will just make fun of him.

Who knows… maybe Obama will change his mind and might do it? We’ll have to wait and see.

Why does Motley Crue have to over hype their break-up so much??? Who cares, ya know???

Don’t get me wrong… I love Motley Crue. I think they are one of the baddest metal bands on the planet. They’re a great band but I don’t get their over hype of their so called retirement or break-up or whatever. I’ve never seen legendary bands do this before. When bands call it quit, they would either go out quietly or just announce their break up and not doing anything else after that. Why does Motley Crue have to shove their retirement in our faces?

Usually when artists do that… like farewell tours or whatever… they usually make huge comebacks in the future like Garth Brooks just did. Remember Garth’s last big farewell tour? KISS have done it too. Phish have also done it.

If a band is gonna quit. Then just fuckin’ quit. It’s an easy thing to do. You don’t have to go on lengthy farewell tours and promote it to death. When famous bands do farewell tours and they promote it heavily… all it is it’s just ego-stroking… ya know, jerking themselves off. That’s what it is, in my opinion. They are desperate for attention and desperate to get respected more. A lot of ass-kissing.

I like Motley Crue but I’m not gonna lie, they are a bunch of egomaniacs for sure. That can’t be denied.

How much do you wanna bet that the Crue will come back in a few years or so? They take a few years break and then they promote their next BIG comeback. With that being said, I don’t buy it at all that this band is done. They’ll be back… they’ll always come back.

Simon Cowell planning a live-action Betty Boop musical movie…

I don’t know if I like Simon’s idea of this or not. I used to watch the Betty Boop cartoons when I was a kid. Simon Cowell brought us “The Lego Movie” which starred Will Ferrell and the film was a major hit. Admittedly, I did see “The Lego Movie” and I honestly, wasn’t all that crazy about it.

Simon is planning a live action Betty Boop movie but it will be a musical. He says that the music is gonna be current which is probably gonna end up being pop, r&b and rap kind of stuff.

http://www.theguardian.com/film/2014/aug/14/simon-cowell-betty-boop-movie

Now, you can predict what actress he’s gonna get for Betty. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s going for a former American Idol winner like maybe Kelly Clarkson or Fantasia. Maybe somebody from X-Factor.

Of course, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets somebody like Beyonce or Rihanna. Will they get a black actress/singer for Betty? They did that with the “Annie” remake.

Either way, though, Simon Cowell is pretty honest with talent so he’s obviously gonna try and get somebody good. He’s gonna look for somebody who can fit Betty’s look and he’s gonna look for somebody who can sing.

I’m skeptical of this one but if he picks a good actress for Betty, maybe I’ll give it a chance.

People showing more compassion to the Robin Williams suicide than Kurt Cobain’s???

This the public’s response to the Kurt Cobain suicide: “What he did was a stupid selfish act. A drug addict who got what he deserved. Fuck him.”

This is the public’s response to the Robin Williams suicide: “RIP, Robin. Lets remember him as the talented and wonderful man he was.”

Something is wrong with this picture hey? My simple point being is that people showed more compassion to Robin’s suicide than Kurt’s. All Kurt got was a lot of hateful and negative responses while people mourned for Robin.

Isn’t this messed up or what??? Sometimes I don’t get people. Kurt Cobain sparked a lot of controversy with his suicide. Sparked a lot of anger and outrage. While people today felt sorry for Robin Williams. Back in the day when Kurt killed himself, you never saw people help bring awareness to suicide. You never saw people bring up suicide prevention hotlines back then while a lot of people are doing that right now with Robin.

There are some people saying hateful and disrespectful things about Robin’s suicide but not a lot of them. Kurt got it worse.

Why didn’t people show a lot of compassion for Kurt? Don’t bring up the drugs ’cause Robin Williams was a drug addict too at some point. Robin used to be a big time cokehead in the 80’s. I believe people treated Kurt like crap ’cause he was young and he was a rock star. People thought Nirvana was a horrible band so that made it easier to attack him. People didn’t bash Robin for his suicide ’cause he was more of a lovable guy and a talented actor/comedian.

Sorry y’all but all people who committed suicide deserves compassion. It doesn’t matter whether or not you like the person. It doesn’t matter how talented you think he/she is. They all deserve compassion and respect. Why? It’s because saying negative stuff like “suicide is a selfish act” and saying all kinds of hateful things about it is not gonna help put suicide to an end. Talking trash like that is just going to keep making suicide a lot worse in America. You gotta show compassion for all suicide victims. If you have a loved one or a friend who is suffering depression and is suicidal, you can’t ignore it. You gotta give them psychiatric help. Yeah, a lot of psychiatrists are garbage and some don’t even help but makes things worse but you can help suicidal people yourself. You gotta put ’em on suicide watch and things like that. Do your best to try and talk to them and stuff.

Maybe Robin’s suicide will get more people to feel compassion for Kurt now.

I just find it strange and hypocritical that when celebrities in the past commit suicide, they get treated negatively but when Robin killed himself, everybody showed compassion.

Just wait until the next celebrity kills him/herself. If a reality star or a rock musician commits suicide, nobody would care but if it’s a celebrity that everyone likes, they would be like, “Oh wow, RIP”.

See where I’m getting at?

Wanna hear some sweet playing by Al Di Meola??? Check this out…

I know Al Di Meola has been a part of the music business since the 70’s and I know I’m real late getting into this guy. He is becoming one of my favorite guitarists. I think I’m gonna keep collecting his studio albums ’cause his music is so much fun to listen to.

I wanna listen to jazz guitar more and Al Di Meola is great to start off with. I wanna spice up my own guitar playing by listening to more jazz and I think listening to a lot of Al Di Meola would help. This guy is a jazz guitar master for sure.

This guy has been around for years so he has a pretty long discography of studio albums. I only have 4 albums of his for now and will collect more of his music as I can.

I’ve honestly been interested in Al Di Meola for a long while, I just haven’t started buying his studio albums until now. You wanna hear some face melting guitar playing, ya gotta listen to this guy.

The Foo Fighters to release “Sonic Highways” Nov. 10th!!!

Home

I’ve been a huge Foo Fighters fan for years. Been listening to the band ever since their first album came out in 1995. Originally, the Foo Fighters weren’t supposed to be a band. The Foo Fighters was originally gonna be an anonymous name for Dave Grohl. He wrote several songs for a demo so he can pass around to friends and supporters but record labels ended up getting hold of the first album and they asked Grohl to sign with them which he obviously did. Due to the success of the first album is what made Grohl turn the Foo Fighters into an official band. They kept getting even more successful ever since.

I’ve listened to every album and loved them all. I’m sure this one will be a great one too. Grohl never disappoints. I’m definitely getting this album and looking forward to hearing it!

Bob Weir and Ratdog cancels all remaining concert dates including the Peach Festival…

With no reasons given, the jam band Bob Weir and Ratdog just all of a sudden cancelled all of their remaining concert dates which includes the Peach Festival (the festival owned by the Allman Brothers). A lot of people are already speculating health problems for Bob Weir who is also the former frontman/guitarist of the Grateful Dead.

http://www.ratdoglive.com/

Do you notice that musicians from jam bands having health problems as of late? That’s what past drug use and alcoholism will do to you. These musicians may not be on drugs & alcohol anymore but past addiction will have an affect on your health later in years.

Look at what happened to Ozzy Osbourne, the guy can hardly walk or talk because of it.

Jam bands and their drugs & alcohol. *sigh*

I know that stuff has been a huge problem in the jam band world ’cause of the hippie thing but I think it’s time that something needs to be done about drugs & alcohol. You don’t need to be drunk, high or stoned to enjoy the music. When will people ever learn that?

I was never a fan of Weir’s band, Ratdog but I did respected him when he was in the Grateful Dead, though.
