Report: Former “Lost” star Terry O’ Quinn to return to island adventure in “Hawaii Five-O”…

John Locke and Jin from “Lost” will reunite in the new “Hawaii Five-O” show for Season 2. Well sort of. Former “Lost” star Terry O’ Quinn will return to island adventure in the new version of “Hawaii Five-O”. This makes it so that Terry and Daniel Dae Kim (who played Jin from “Lost”) will reunite with the new show.

Terry hasn’t done any acting at all since he finished “Lost”, in 2010.

Read more on the story, here.

It’s nice to see “Lost” actors getting work again. Terry O’ Quinn for “Hawaii Five-O”, Mattew Fox for “World War Z”, Josh Holloway (Sawyer) is in “Mission Impossible IV”, and now I’ve heard that Evangeline Liily (Kate from “Lost”) has been casted for “The Hobbit” remake.

Speaking of “Lost”, I’ve started season 5 this week. Watched the first 5 episodes of “Lost – Season 5” already.

TV Review: “Game of Thrones – Season 1”

So the 1st season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” just ended. There were only 10 episodes this season. I must say I was very impressed. There wasn’t one episodes that I hated, I loved them all. Yes, this is my no. 1 favorite TV show currently. It’s such an intense show that will keep you watching. After this season, I want more, but we’re going to have to wait next year for Season 2 which next season will be based on George R.R. Martin’s book, “Clash of Kings”, the second book of the series which I am currently reading now.

Back to the show, the characters are so like-able and entertaining to watch. Each character has different emotions and feelings. Some of the characters can be good, and friendly. Some characters can be hateful, evil and violent. Some characters can be funny & comical (like Tyrion Lannister, the midget character for example). All the characters are enjoyable: Lord Eddard Stark, Robb, Arya, Sansa, Tyrion, Catelyn, Princess Daenerys, Khal Drogo, King Robert Baratheon, Joffrey, etc.

I think my favorite three characters would have to be Eddard Stark, Princess Daenerys, and Tyrion. As I said before, the TV show stayed pretty faithful to George R.R. Martin’s works. The show didn’t leave anything out from the book at all. I was very surprised of that. The show has a mix of emotions. It can be very dark, graphic, and sometimes some of the show can be enjoyable in a more positive way.

I’m just so impressed with the storytelling, it’s just so amazing and intelligently written. Once you get into these stories, you’ll get immediately hooked. You’ll be at the edge of your seat most of the time. I think this is the best show on TV in years. The best show on TV used to be “Friday Night Lights” but FNL dropped down to No. 2, now “Game of Thrones” is no. 1 on my list. I’m already looking forward to Season 2 next year. Yes, you betcha, I will collect these series on DVD for sure.

I’m glad these series landed on the TV screen instead of the big screen in theaters. I don’t want to talk about any of the plot points in this show ’cause there are a lot of twists and turns that will shock you. The thing is, you don’t have to be a fan of medieval stories to get into this show. It can be for anyone.

If you didn’t catch the show, I’m sure HBO will be re-running the first season throughout the summer and I’m sure it will come out on DVD/Blu Ray in the Fall. So if you haven’t caught this show, I’d suggest you check it out in the future. You would think it’s the best show on TV for sure. This show will be winning a lot of awards, so expect this show to get a lot of nominations for the Golden Globes this year.

Why I didn’t post an obit for Ryan Dunn…

Ryan Dunn doesn’t deserve an obit here, why? It’s not because I hate him. I do like “Jackass”, it was a funny show and I enjoy the films, but drinking & driving is never cool. When people get killed drinking & driving, it is pretty much their own fault that this happened. They should have known better. I have a pure dislike at people who drink & drive.

Roger Ebert posted this controversial tweet on the guy:

Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive.

Like him or hate Ebert, he is exactly right and had every right to say it. Not only that Ryan Dunn killed himself, he could’ve killed other people. That’s why this death gets no respect from me.

This post might be a bit controversial for wordpress, I am willing to take the heat from it, but I don’t care. I am not afraid of truth. Ryan’s death should be a wake up call for all people like us who like to party. Drink responsibly and don’t drive. Take a cab, walk, spend the night in the street, etc. Do anything but don’t drive.

A lot of people drink and drive. It happens around here too. It happens everywhere. Don’t do it. While my heart goes out to Ryan’s friends, family & fans, you can’t deny that he is a douche to do what he just did.

Kev

Edit to add: If this happened to Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi or Lindsay Lohan, I’m sure everyone will be saying “Good riddance, glad she’s gone”. It’s very hypocritical that people hate those two women for their drinking habits yet they have no problem with Ryan Dunn’s. Doesn’t matter who you are, it’s the same thing with everyone.

The Top Ten Best TV Dads

In celebration for Father’s Day, here are the top 10 Best TV Dads. These are my favorites at the top of my head. Enjoy the list.

  1. Lord Eddard Stark (played by Sean Bean for the “Game of Thrones” series on HBO) – The best Dad on TV ever, in my opinion. Ned Stark easily tops the list.
  2. Coach Eric Taylor (played by Kyle Chandler for “Friday Night Lights” series on NBC) – This character almost makes you feel like he’s your Dad in real life. That’s how great this character is.
  3. Dexter Morgan (played by Michael C. Hall for “Dexter” on Showtime) – Can’t leave him off this list. Love this show.
  4. Tony Soprano (played by James Gandolfini for “The Sopranos”) – It is not a Best TV Dad list, if you leave him off. I love this show, wish I could watch more of it and I only saw the first season. Will catch up with the rest of it, soon I hope.
  5. Cliff Huxtable (played by Bill Cosby for “The Cosby Show”) – Used to watch “The Cosby Show” all the time when I was younger. The Huxtable family were great.
  6. Al Bundy (played by Ed’ O Neill for “Married With Children”) – One of my favorite sitcoms, used to watch this all the time.
  7. Howard Cunningham (played by Tom Bosley for “Happy Days”) – Everyone’s favorite TV Dad and mine too!
  8. Tim Taylor (played by Tim Allen for the “Home Improvement” series) – Yes, I was a pretty big “Home Improvement” fan, another sitcom that I watched pretty obsessively
  9. Homer Simpson (voiced by Dan Castellaneta for “The Simpsons”)- I just can’t leave Homer off the list. Even though I don’t watch the Simpsons too much, I always thought Homer was a cool character. So I had to put him in.
  10. Vince McMahon (known for playing Mr. McMahon, the evil boss for Monday Night WWE RAW) – Vince McMahon never gets listed for best TV Dads anywhere on the internet and I think it’s about time for him to get on one. The father of Stephanie and Shane McMahon. Also, the founding father of WWE, so he deserves to be part of the TV Dad list.

Enjoy!

Netflix Pick: Lost – Season 4

So earlier this week, I have just finished watching “Lost – Season 4” on Netflix. So far, I think this is the best season of them all. Just like the last season the survivors expected to get rescued by a freighter that they just learned about. Turns out, that those people on the freighter aren’t there at the island to rescue them, they turned out to be evil people. Benjamin Linus, the guy who was looking like to be a villain from the last season is turning out to be good by helping the survivors of Oceanic 815 survive from the people on the freighter boat.

The freighter has a group of evil mercernaries and Benjamin Linus announced that one of the survivors is a spy on the freighter. I won’t reveal who the spy is, you’ll figure it out for yourself. A man named, Frank Lapidus (played by Jeff Fahey) is a helicopter pilot of the freighter and he was the only one that was willing to help get the survivors off the island so they can go back home to the United States.

The leader of the mercernaries group, Martin Keamy, in which Keamy has a dead man’s switch device under his arm. If he dies and when his heart stops beating, there is a bomb on the freighter that the bomb will explode. This season focuses on Benjamin Linus trying to help the survivors fight off the people on the freighter that is trying to kill them.

That’s enough with the plot. On with my thoughts of this season. I think this is the best season so far. I think the action scenes in this season is very good and fun. I think this season is also more dramatic and more deep than the earlier seasons. I liked the flash forward scenes. This season would show what each character is like when they’re back home from the island. Back home after the island, Jack appears to be a drug addict on pills. Michael appears to be suicidal. Hurley is back in the mental hospital, and Sayid turned out to be a dangerous killer.

My only complaint that they should have left what happened to Jin, a little more unpredictable. They made it to easy to figure out what was going to happen to Jin, the Korean guy later in the show. This show brings in a mix of genres into one: science fiction, fantasy, romance, action, mystery, suspense, comedy, drama, etc.

I’m almost done with the show, two more seasons left. I will start “Season 5” this weekend sometime. I’m taking a day off watching “Lost” today.

Netflix Pick: Lost – Season 3

Today, on a rainy day, I decided to finish watching the last few episodes of “Lost – Season 3”. The last season, focused on teasing this group of mysterious people called, “The Others” which is what the survivors on the island called them. The last Season wouldn’t reveal “The Others”.

In Season 3, they revealed who “The Others” were. Ben Lupin, who is the leader/boss of “The Others” was the guy that they held captive from the last season. The Others have taken Jack, Sawyer and Kate prisoner, but they sent Hurley home because he wasn’t needed. They wanted Kate and Sawyer to work on “The Others” campsite, while Jack was being used to operate Ben Lupin who was sick. Remember, Jack is a doctor and surgeon of the series.

This season concentrates on the survivors trying to escape “The Others” hideout. Kate and Sawyer got away but Jack stayed because he made a deal with Ben Lupin that if he’ll operate him and makes him stay alive, then Ben would send Jack home to the USA.

There are new characters introduced in this season like Desmond who has psychic visions and knows what happens to the characters in the future. This season is also much darker and more violent than the last two seasons. The show has a big love triangle between Kate, Sawyer, and Jack.

This season gets more serious on the characters of John Locke and Sawyer, on how their lives were destroyed before their characters crashed on the island. The show treated Sawyer as if he was a badguy/villain of the show but they want to show him that he can be a good guy after all.

This season is about battling against “The Others”, fighting them off for survival. “The Others” are crazy and psychotic people who thinks they own their island. The season ends with the survivors thinking they’re going to get discovered and get rescued. I liked the twists and turns this season. They continue to kill off the good characters.

It was a pretty good season. The show is getting interesting now and looking forward to seeing how the show ends. I’m enjoying the show so far. I like the actor who plays Sawyer, he does the best job at acting than all the other cast members, in my opinion. Looking forward to season 4 which I will start tomorrow.

Netflix Pick: “Lost – Season 2”

So last night, I finished watching “Lost – Season 2” on Netflix. This season focuses on the characters finding a hatch in the jungle. They tried to figure out a way to open the hatch door so they can try to hide the characters from danger because, Danielle “The French Woman”, warned the characters, that these people called, “The Others” are out to get them. The characters were looking for a place to hide and protection from these people called, “The Others”. “The Others” are evil people who live on the other side of the island. In the season, the cast finally found a way to open the hatch in the jungle. What Jack and John Locke discovered, is a room which is something you see from, Star Trek. Computers and machines everywhere. It was almost like a living room too with a kitchen, food storage, record player, bedroom, gun storage, etc.

That room in the hatch turns out to be a science experiment. There’s an alarm that goes off every 108 minutes, and the cast must type in this special code before the time runs out. They must reset the time back to 108 minutes. If the time runs out, then the world would be destroyed. New characters are introduced this season such as Mr. Eko and Ana Lucia (played by Michelle Rodriguez). Michael, Walt, Jin, and Sawyer were out in the raft trying to get off the island. Yet they run into these people called, “The Others” who kidnapped Michael’s son, Walt. Michael, Walt, and Jin are back home on the island, and they do all they can to try and get Walt back. Ana Lucia and Mr. Eko were enemies with the main characters at first, but they become friends later on.

The main characters captured one of “The Others” and kept him locked up in the hatch. “The Others” prisoner name was Henry. They kept Henry captive to try and get Walt back for Michael. This season focuses on trying to get Walt back from “The Others”, Walt is a 10 year boy, Michael’s son. They also try to survive with this science experiment in the hatch.

That’s all I’ll go with the plot ’cause I don’t want to reveal spoilers, ’cause there are twist and turns this season. Honestly, some of the storylines this season can be pretty whacky, but it’s an entertaining show though. The writing keeps you guessing on what’s going to happen next. I like how the show tells you stories in different angles of the characters. This is turning out to be a science fiction show, big time, more than an adventure show. Which is no surprise, I know that JJ Abrams is a huge science fiction geek.

I like Mr. Eko, he’s my favorite character so far, and I fuckin’ love Michelle Rodriguez! I’m sure “Season 3” will focus on the main characters trying to escape “The Others” camp. I’m sure many of you already watched the entire show of “Lost” a long time ago, but bare with me, I’m late getting into it. So don’t give me any spoilers up ahead. Looking forward to starting Season 3 today. Glad I finally got into this show.

Cool Video: Crosby, Nash and Neil Young reunion??? Well, sort of…

On Jimmy Fallon last night there was some kind of CSNY reunion. Jimmy Fallon was playing as Neil Young again singing a song called, “Party In the USA”. Out comes surprise special guest singers: Graham Nash and David Crosby. Yes, the real Graham Nash and David Crosby, not played by actors. This was a killer performance. Nash and Crosby great singers like usual. The only one who didn’t come out was obviously, Stephen Stills.

What’s with all the Jimmy Fallon performing as Neil Young for? I think it’s an obvious hint that the real Neil Young himself will go on the show to sing with Jimmy Fallon. It’s gonna happen at some point, just give it time, folks.

Jimmy Fallon “Late Night” has been on NBC for a long while now. He’s been having so many legendary acts perform on the show everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Megadeth. The real Neil Young haven’t performed on Jimmy Fallon yet. It’s coming, I’m sure.

See the video, here.

BREAKING NEWS: Christopher Meloni leaving “Law & Order: SVU”!!!

First Steve Carell leaves, “The Office”, next here comes Christopher Meloni announcing the news that he is leaving the long running show, “Law & Order: SVU”. They tried to make him come back for next season but he wasn’t up for it.

Deadline, reports.

Guess, he really wants to move on then. Can’t blame him, considering he’s been playing the same show for over 10 years. He’s a good actor too. I remember him in HBO’s “OZ” as well.

I don’t think he’s done with acting for good. I think he wants to move on to better opportunities. Maybe do other TV shows or get some movie roles or something.

This was no surprise honestly.
