Thought: Wikileaks should be taken off line and the site creator should be arrested!

Yesterday, I decided to check out the controversial Wikileaks, website, that’s been all over politics news. I looked through it all, and yes, there are some pretty heavy duty stuff on that site that is pretty disturbing. Lots of private and confidential war logs have been made public for the world to see and there’s even shocking and sad videos of innocent Baghdad civilians being shot and killed by the US army on helicopter. It’s obvious this Julian Assange guy, just wants some attention for himself. I agree that the site should be shut down and Julian Assange should be arrested. This guy is giving America a bad name. I hope they catch him.

Brock stands up for WWE…

People shouldn’t treat the WWE in a negative direction. I have stood up for WWE countless times in these blogs. Trying my best to defend the company from the ongoing negative critics that points directly at the company. I have been an obsessive fan of wrestling ever since I was a child. I just LOVE professional wrestling. I don’t know why. I just became very addicted to it. I just love how these guys perform. Even if the wrestling is fake and scripted, I still find it entertaining. The promos and the speeches the wrestlers do are amazing. Wrestling is almost like theatre in a way. That’s pretty much what it is. I respect what these guys do and respect how hard they work to perform for fans.

I may not like certain storylines and certain wrestlers, but I will always respect what they do. I have been a fan of WWE my entire life and still am to this day. For those that attack this PG rating, WWE started off as PG in the 80’s when Hulk Hogan, Andre, Ultimate Warrior, Roddy Piper, Macho Man, etc. were around back in those days. That’s all PG. Think about it. WWE wants to re-live that 80’s moment and doing a pretty good job of it. They created many superstars and wrestlers that I enjoyed, and loved. WWE is the reason that I became a huge fan of the hardcore wrestling genius, Mick Foley.

It’s no secret that WWE has always been a huge target in media and by people all over the world. If people are hating on the company, it just proves that the WWE is good at what they do. The company is not really about the money. Not at all. Yes, they are a billion dollar company, but WWE and their superstars really care for people. That’s what they put on these shows for is to entertain us and put smiles on our faces. The WWE are great entertainers. Probably the best in the world. Sure, you may go see, the “Ringling and Barnum & Bailey Circus” or the Big Monster trucks shows, but nobody cares about that stuff anymore. Professional wrestling has pretty much taken over the world of live entertainment for sure.

People accuse wrestlers of using steroids and drugs. People blame the WWE on all of these young wrestler deaths that’s been happening for a long while now. None of this is the WWE’s fault. Wrestlers may have used steroids in the past, but not anymore because WWE has a very strict Wellness policy that performers must follow. The wrestler deaths are not the fault of WWE. Most of the wrestlers that died no longer worked for the WWE. So they did drugs on their own terms when not working for wrestling at all. I can understand why people would blame the WWE on this stuff with drugs since the Chris Benoit controversy, but don’t blame this on the WWE. All they want to do is perform for us, the fans.

The WWE also gets attacked for their women that perform in the WWE, aka the Divas. People accused WWE of using women like sex slaves. How most of them are perfect looking women with breast implants and all that. Treating the women like sex slaves in storylines of WWE has happened in the past. They don’t do that stuff anymore, it all happened back in the TV-14 era. The women that perform on WWE now are no longer sexual. They don’t show cleavages anymore and they cover up a lot of skin now. Plus, beautiful women in WWE is needed so they can help sell tickets and more ppv buyrates.

Without the WWE, there would be no Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, Jake the Snake, Undertaker, Stone Cold, the Rock, John Cena, Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, Bret the Hitman Hart, etc. All these legendary superstars that mean a lot to so many people were all because of the WWE. People attack WWE out of jealousy, I’m sure. I can’t blame the company for defending themselves. The WWE is a very powerful company. Nothing can take them down although people try. I’ve been watching WWE for over 20 years ever since I was a child, and will watch ’til the day I die. I’ll never outgrow the WWE. I even dreamed of becoming a professional wrestler myself, but that dream is over ’cause I’m too late and too old for that. Most wrestlers start when they are very young.

The WWE is great at what they do, no matter if you like them or not. All these attacks and threats by the politicians at the WWE, is just proof that Linda McMahon will win and she will get elected Senate of Connecticut. Mark my words. Jesse Ventura went through this same trouble during his election for governor of Minnesota, because of his WWE background, but he got the win anyway. I respect the WWE. I respect the McMahon’s and the staff that work so hard at what they do. The WWE has my back, 100%. I will stand behind them, no matter what anybody says or thinks.

Thought: Why do people want Brandon Routh back so bad?

I look through entertainment movie blogs and message board forums talking about the actor choices for the upcoming new, Superman movie. The most popular picks are Brandon Routh and Jon Hamm. Brandon Routh is the most popular choice, of course. Ya know, I thought, “Superman: Returns” was a pretty good movie, but the only thing is, I never cared for Routh as Superman that much.

The reason people want Routh back is because he’s so similar to Christopher Reeve. Plus everyone wants to see Routh in another Superman movie. Honestly, I would prefer Jon Hamm more than Routh. I said before, I don’t want Routh back. I like Jon Hamm, he’s the better choice, I think.

I know I said this quite a bit, but don’t be surprised that it could be neither Brandon Routh or Jon Hamm as Superman. They could go with Leo Dicaprio due to the success of “Inception” like I said before.

So who would I want to play Superman? Honestly, and here is my 2cents. The Superman role should go to an actor who is not a big name star. In other words, the role should really go to an unknown. Christopher Reeve was an unknown when he came in, so was Brandon Routh. All that stuff with Brandon Routh possibly being considered to come back, all that news is from a UK newspaper, “News of the World”, which are tabloids. So I’m not believing that. The role should go to an unknown. I’m sure Chris and Zack would get a guy for Superman, that we’ve never even heard before. So don’t get all excited that they could get a big name superstar for Superman.

Report: Jessica Alba to star in “Spy Kids 4″…

Yes, there is a Spy Kids 4 in the works. Robert Rodriguez is planning to re-boot the series, since he is the one that directed the first three. Jessica Alba will play a retired spy who is a mother of a baby and two preteen step children.

The Spy Kids two leading stars, Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega aren’t kids anymore. That’s the reason they had no choice but to re-boot the franchise but Daryl, Alexa, and Antonio Banderas are expected to return for smaller roles.

Don’t be surprised that they could get Justin Bieber to star as one of the new Spy Kids.

Report: The Riddler confirmed for “Dark Knight 3” after all????

With Comic Con starting tomorrow, rumours hit the net that the Riddler is confirmed for the Joker, but denied reports that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing the character. The question is, will Christopher Nolan go to San Diego Comic Con to confirm the Riddler news himself? I would think he would probably be there.

More on it here:

http://www.firstshowing.net/2010/07/20/excl-studio-casting-names-the-riddler-as-batman-3-villain/

I’m hoping Chris would deny this rumour ’cause I honestly don’t want the Riddler as villain. I would like someobody different and new. A villain like Hugo Strange, Bane, Killer Croc, Black Mask, etc. A villain that hasn’t been used before in the earlier films.

If the Riddler is confirmed, Leo Dicaprio will probably end up getting the role anyways. Leo will want to star in a Batman film. Leo may not top Heath, but I’m pretty positive Leo would nail the Riddler role perfectly. Robin Williams would do good, but he’s too old. The Riddler should go to a younger guy and Leo is perfect, in my opinion. Leo might be able to pull off that crazy laugh, Riddler does.

I’m sure we’ll hear more Batman 3 news over the weekend when Comic Con starts. Who knows, maybe Chris Nolan will surprise us and he might be there. Maybe he will even bring us news for the new “Superman” flick at Comic Con as well.

BREAKING NEWS: Dave Matthews Band to take a year off of touring/recording in 2011!!!

After over 20 long years of touring and making albums, The Dave Matthews Band announced they will take a break from it all in 2011. No touring and no new studio albums that year. Although, I’m pretty sure DMB will release plenty of live albums during that year.

I’m not such a big DMB fan anymore as I used to be. Used to love ’em but now I find ’em overrated and un-interesting. I like Phish way more than DMB.

Film Review: Nightmare on Elm Street…

Starring: Jackie Earle Haley, Kellan Lutz, Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Connie Britton

Directed by: Samuel Bayer

Today I just saw the “Nightmare on Elm Street” remake and here is my review:

Plot/synopsis: The story to the remake is pretty much the same as the original. Freddy Kreuger, a child killer, who was burned to death years ago. Appears in people’s dreams. Freddy murders people in their dreams which causes them to die in real life.

Again, this movie is getting mixed reviews and opinions by fans and the critics. Some hate it and some LOVED it! Me? Well, I fucking LOVED IT! Seriously, I did!!! I have always been a fan of Freddy movies. The Robert Englund ones. I probably liked the first couple of “Elm St.” films with Englund, the rest of them I didn’t care for and were kind of stupid. The “Elm St.” series went downhill after “The Dream Master”. I know the 1st “Elm St.” movie was directed by horror legend Wes Craven. Notice how Hollywood seems to be remaking every Wes Craven film these days (“The Hills Have Eyes”, “The Last House on the Left”, etc.)?

Some people claim that the Freddy Kreuger role, belongs to Robert Englund and him only. Well, that’s where I disagree. The Freddy Kreuger character is just make up. You can’t recognize the actor anyways and you can always copy that speaking voice easily. Plus, I’m sure the film makers at Platinum Dunes, got Englund’s blessing for going on without him, so I’m sure Englund is all cool with the remake.

The reason I loved this version, was that this is much darker and more evil. The new Freddy’s make up maybe bad and horrible looking but hello, it’s supposed to be like that. The new Freddy look is supposed to be disgusting. They wanted it more disturbing looking than the Englund version. The Jackie Earle Haley version looks exactly like a burnt victim. In the earlier, “Elm St.” movies, the Englund films, they made it look like he was a child killer…but in this one, they wanted Freddy to be more human like. They wanted to have the new Freddy to have some character than the Englund version. This version showed more of Freddy’s past of how he appeared to be today. The remake, made it turned out to be that Freddy Kreuger is a child molester, not just a child killer. So it makes a lot of sense of why Freddy only appears in teens dreams when they go to sleep. I think Jackie Earle Haley’s version is more creepier and darker than the Englund versions. Yes, Haley’s version still have that comical sense of humor like Englund but not much. This film wanted to keep Freddy scary, not humorous.

The plot and storyline maybe similar but the whole movie is pretty different than the original. I was surprised to see “Friday Night Light’s” star, Connie Britton, have a role in this. It’s not just a cameo with Connie, she’s one of the leading roles. Her acting is great as always. They wanted to keep this a serious horror film. Make it scary and creepy. It was kind of scary and creepy in my opinion. They tried not to make it a popcorn flick and made it an actual horror film. The film was extremely dark and it actually made me a little uncomfortable in certain scenes. I think this is one of the best horror remakes in a long while. In fact, I wouldn’t even call it a remake. I would call it a stand alone film. It’s the way the original “Elm St.” movie should have been. No offense to Mr. Craven and Mr. Englund. Looking forward to the sequel now!!!

Score for “Nightmare on Elm. St” = **** (4 stars as in = “excellent”)

Not a Cool Video: What is going on with Lunic?

Check this out. Lunic’s recent performance a few days ago, performing “Oh No Yoko” with a new lineup (again). A band that I once had so much respect for and kind of starting to lose it. Their recent performances in youtube haven’t been that great and they still haven’t been good lately. I see they have a full band with a new bass player now. This performance is not as energetic as it used be. If I was at the Harrisburg, PA gig, I’d be sitting at the table falling asleep and yawning. Why? The performance was simply not tight. I can barely hear that cello. The cello in my opinion, is what’s killing the band’s energy they once had. Katiee’s vocals sounds like a 5 year old girl lately.

I will post Lunic’s older performance at Jillian’s of “Oh No Yoko” with their former lineup. Notice how their former lineup with Randy in the band, they were much tighter and more energetic? Notice the difference? Katiee’s vocals were much better at the Jillian’s performance.

I know Lunic wants to go far and go to the next level with their music. Maybe get signed to a label but they’re never gonna get to the next level if they don’t start performing with more emotion. I want to see a knockout in your face performance. Not the kind of performance that will bore me to death.

Lunic’s performance at Valentine’s…a little off???

The Albany based local band, Lunic, posted their recent performance at Valentine’s. I must be a little honest that I think their performance here was a little off. I’ve been enjoying their last several performances when they had Randy McKinley as their bass player but noticing that he’s not in this gig and Lunic is playing without a bass player. Maybe that’s why this performance is not as energetic as they used to be? In my opinion, the cello doesn’t work and they need to get rid of the cello. I thought Randy was a perfect fit for the band and he gave the band what they exactly needed so my advice to the band, get Randy back. That band is missing out a great bassist that could help them get to the next level that they want. I’m kind of dissapointed in this performance. An electric guitar based band, sounds like shit without a bass player. Electric guitar and cello doesn’t work.

I still respect the band but this is just a bit of honest criticism. Katiee’s vocals aren’t that great in this performance as it sounded like she was losing it in certain places here and there. If they’re gonna have a cello in an electric guitar based band, I don’t know how I’m going to be able to hear that annoying thing live. The cello IS cool, I love the instrument but it only works with acoustic instruments. No offense to Lunic or their fans, I’m just being real with music and I’m not afraid to do that.

“Batman: Arkham Asylum” full review…

So earlier this evening I finished, “Batman: Arkham Asylum”. As I said before, I was very impressed with the game and still am. I love how the action and the gameplay is kind of difficult and challenging. The game is very challenging ’cause you have to have skills and practice to fight. There’s a few levels where you have to fight against over 20 – 30 thugs (or badguys) all at the same time. You have to use counter to block, evade to jump out if you’re surrounded and do all kinds of fighting moves.

There is also a few levels where you have to hide from armed thugs with machine guns and then slowly plan your attack on them. If you get spotted, the armed thugs will kill you immediately. It’s difficult ’cause you have to pay attention to what you’re doing.

The game is also not really for kids. This game is really aimed for the adults that are Batman fans. Reasons, the game has a lot of dark content. The game is too dark and scary for younger kids to be playing. It has swearing in the game. The characters of Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn both look sexy, they show a lot of cleavage and they have big boobs.

The animated series on TV of Batman are aimed for kids, but the game should have had a “M-17” rating which doesn’t.

Scarecrow is probably the creepiest character in the game, that evil laugh he does, is crazy.

Mark Hamill’s Joker is much scarier than Heath Ledger’s, seriously. Mark does a better job than Heath, in my opinion. If Christopher Nolan did a The Dark Knight 3 film and if he decides to bring Joker back with a different actor to play the character, it should be Mark Hamill.

This is probably one of the best games I’ve played in a long time. Is this game the best of the year? Hmmmm, haven’t decided yet. At the end of December, I will announce what my choice of the game of the year is.

There are still other games coming out this year that I want to get, like “God of War III”, “Bioshock 2”, etc. So many great video games that came out this year. It’s hard to decide.

There’s probably going to be a sequel for this “Batman” video game. When they make one, they should make the next one take place in Gotham city. They should make it so that we can drive Batman in the batmobile. In the next Batman video game, they should have these villains here: The Riddler, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, and Catwoman.

This game “Batman: Arkham Asylum” is amazing and it’s a must buy for all Batman fanatics!
