RIP: Bobby “The Brain Heenan 1944 – 2017

BobbyHeenan

If you’re a fan of old-school wrestling like myself then chances are, you’ve probably heard the name, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. He was a wrestling manager and color commentator in the WWE back in the 80’s and early 90’s. He also worked for WCW for a little while.

Bobby Heenan was mostly known as a “heel” aka a bad guy in wrestling. I can’t remember him being, “babyface”? Maybe he was a babyface for a little bit but he mostly played a bad guy performer for most of his career. In the WWE, he mostly managed heel wrestlers such as Andre, Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect most notably. When Heenan was color commentators during matches, he always sided with heel wrestlers and talk trashed to babyface wrestlers.

“The Brain” was a genius performer. He was one of those heel performers who was really good at getting people to boo him, and that’s a heel’s job. Fans hated, “The Brain”, back in those days. It was crazy. “The Brain”, had it all. He had the great mic work, the good looks and the man knew how to dress too.

Without “The Brain”, the wrestling industry wouldn’t have gotten to where it is today. He is a crucial performer in wrestling. The wrestling business and the fans looked up to him over the years. We’ve never forgotten how great of a performer he really was. “The Brain”, really knew how to put on a show, and he knew how to get people excited for matches which was a part of his job.

He was the best in the business. Without “The Brain”, there would have been no Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Macho Man, Mr. Perfect, Ric Flair, etc. “The Brain” got them all over and they got famous ’cause of him.

“The Brain” was a genius, and I loved watching him. Thank you, Bobby.

I’m sure Monday Night RAW tonight will do a little tribute for him.

Ric Flair is back!!! Stylin’ and profilin’, WOOO!!!!

LMAO! Ric Flair, wrestling legend, just had a major health scare and a major surgery — here he is letting us fans know that he is fine and good. He thanks his fans for the support and all that stuff.

I just love Flair’s sense of humor. Proves he is a strong guy and he’s already moving forward as you can see here; he’s acting like his health scare is nothing. People usually feel a little down after a health scare but not Ric. As you can see here, he’s in a very good mood. Announcing his comeback in style!

Glad Ric is still here with us. Rock on, Ric! This video makes me respect him even more.

Is Asuka finally on her way to main roster in WWE????

WWE NXT superstar, Asuka has been performing in NXT for a few years now. I think she made her NXT debut in 2016 and ever since then, she’s been sparking a lot of buzz and getting so much popularity this soon. Why? Simply because she’s an amazing performer and wrestler. She’s been an undefeated NXT Women’s champion for a long while and now she’s given up the belt.

http://www.wwe.com/shows/wwenxt/article/asuka-relinquishes-nxt-womens-title

Why? This is a huge sign that WWE is finally moving her to the main roster. Very soon, I think we’re gonna see her either on RAW or Smackdown Live. Asuka is gonna be a big star in WWE, she’s also Wrestlemania bound for sure.

I’m trying to watch more NXT just for her. If they put her on Smackdown Live, I’ll watch SD Live just for her but I hope they put her on Monday Night RAW, though. I want to see her have matches against Sasha Banks, Nia Jax and Bayley.

When WWE do move Asuka to the main roster, I hope they don’t change her theme song as heard above ’cause the theme song suits her perfectly.

This is how WWE decides their superstars for the main roster; that’s what they use NXT for. Any stars on NXT that sparks a lot of popularity, they get moved to the main roster… this is how WWE is finding all the new stars. NXT is where guys like Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, etc. all came from.

To all you wrestling fans reading this blog, you’re gonna love Asuka trust me. Most WWE Divas can’t wrestle… most women wrestlers pull hair and slap each other but Asuka can actually wrestle. She’s impressive in the ring. She reminds me of the Ultimate Warrior a little bit.

Can’t wait to see Asuka on the main roster… she’s gonna get popularity real fast.

10 reasons why you should enjoy watching professional wrestling…

In celebration of Vince McMahon’s birthday, I said I would make a post like this so here we go.

Yeah, I know the wrestling business gets all kinds of negative criticism by people over the years. The professional wrestling business is a thing that you either love or hate. Many still don’t like the wrestling industry for a few reasons… first of all, they don’t like it ’cause it’s fake and all. Yeah I know wrestling is fake; I just watch it ’cause it’s fun. Secondly, many thinks it’s kind of gay to watch half naked dudes all over each other. Thirdly, many don’t watch it ’cause wrestling can get dark & controversial at times and lastly, many don’t watch it ’cause of the scantly clad women in professional wrestling (like women showing too much skin and too much cleavage, WWE doesn’t show that stuff with women anymore but they did in the past).

One more reason, I forgot to name that people don’t like wrestling is ’cause of all the wrestler deaths over the drugs and stuff and especially the Chris Benoit tragedy.

10 reasons to enjoy professional wrestling is here:

  • Pro wrestling is like theatre almost: Wrestling really is like theatre almost. A lot of wrestling shows are pretty theatrical. The ring-entrances and the storylines. All that is acting kind of like a theatre play. That’s exactly what pro wrestling is.
  • Wrestling matches can be entertaining and fun to watch: People think it’s gay to watch half naked dudes get all over each other? Please! It took many years of training to get where they are today. They don’t become pros over night. If you actually watch a wrestling match, they can be a blast to watch. Don’t knock it until you see it for yourself.
  • Wrestling is like a TV soap opera or a movie: I know a lot of you like to watch TV shows and movies well professional wrestling is kind of like the same thing technically. You can enjoy watching wrestling just like you do with TV shows and movies.
  • Wrestlers can deliver fun promos (or speeches in the ring): In wrestling, you not only have to have the good wrestling skills, you also gotta have good speaking skills. Gotta have the good speaking skills to entertain a crowd and many wrestlers do deliver great promos over the years.
  • Wrestlers work hard to entertain people around the world: People should respect the wrestling business for this reason ’cause companies like the WWE and TNA really do work hard to entertain people. They took a lot of sacrifices to do what they do. They do it ’cause they love it. How can you not be proud of them for that? Instead they get criticized for trying to put smiles on people’s faces which is what they do it for. These guys are always on the road year-round, travelling and performing shows all over. Pretty ballsy what they do.
  • Wrestling are perfect to take your kids to watch live shows: I remember getting into wrestling when I was kid in the 80’s and 90’s. Still am loyal to pro wrestling today. I never grew out of it. You should respect the wrestling business ’cause they provide entertainment for young children and that’s another reason they’re here for. You never watched pro wrestling in your life? Take your kids to a wrestling show and you would be surprised to see how much fun they’re having.
  • Being a part of the wrestling community and fanbase is a cool thing: Another cool thing about enjoying wrestling is ’cause well, the fanbase and wrestling community on the internet and in the real world. There are wrestling fanatics all over the place and I enjoy talking about “wrestling” with other fans. The wrestling community is the best part about it; however, though… I enjoy talking wrestling with the “smart fans” more. Talking with the “marks” is annoying ’cause they believe wrestling is real. Finding “smart fans” is tough but they’re out there.
  • The wrestling characters & gimmicks: This is the best part of the wrestling business is all the characters & gimmicks the business created over the years most notably… stars like Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, The Rock, Stone Cold, The Undertaker, etc. There are a lot of new recognizable stars today like Bray Wyatt, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, etc. It’s the characters and gimmicks that keep wrestling fun.
  • Wrestlers are likeable people in real life: In the ring, wrestlers maybe playing good guys & bad guys but out of the ring, they’re just regular people like us. A lot of wrestlers are very nice, down to earth and good with the fans ’cause why? The answer is simple really… wrestlers are very good with people and fans ’cause that’s why they do what they do. They perform for us. They perform to make us happy. That alone is worthy enough to support the wrestling business ’cause they love people.

Well, that’s about all I could think. Hope you enjoy the read.

Summerslam last night was surprisingly a pretty damn good ppv, it had one of the best main events I’ve seen in a long time…

So I was pretty skeptical of Summerslam this year. I was watching it all evening last night and I was extremely surprised by the ppv. It turned out really good after all! I enjoyed pretty much every match but the best matches I’ve seen last night were: Finn Balor aka The Demon King vs. Bray Wyatt, Natalya vs. Naomi and the main event which was the Fatal 4 Way for the Universal Champ. All three of those matches  actually had some pretty exciting wrestling. You see, Vince? That’s what we all want to see!!! Good wrestling! All three of those matches had that pretty much.

Finn Balor is becoming one of my favorite new performers right now and so is Braun Strowman. That Strowman guy is a fuckin’ bad ass for sure. While I do think it’s annoying as fuck that Vince McMahon has a huge big man fetish, I think Braun Strowman is one of the best big man performers we’ve had in a while. I think that Strowman guy is gonna be something special. Most big man wrestlers are pretty boring as hell in the ring but that Strowman guy, wow…. he keeps things entertaining as hell in the ring. Braun Strowman, we’re looking at a future icon here… this guy could be bigger than the Rock, Stone Cold and Hogan.

I was skeptical of the main event which was the “Fatal 4 Way” for the Universal Champ: Brock Lesnar (current champ) vs. Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe. I was expecting that match to be boring as hell but it turned out to be pretty thrilling and exciting. Lesnar won that match, of course and he retained the champ.  There’s already a lot of calls from wrestling fans that they all want Strowman the chance to get the title and I agree. I do agree Strowman deserves a chance… right now it’s not the time ’cause I feel it’s too early. They still need to build Strowman up some more. He’s already becoming a popular baby face but he needs more. I was real surprised of that match, though and I want to watch it again. Is hardcore wrestling back? It seems so!

Good job. WWE! Yeah, I’m a pretty big fan of wrestling. Have been for my whole life and don’t feel ashamed for it. It was a good ppv last night. I did watch NXT Takeover ppv as well the night before “Summerslam” and that was real good too. I just love to watch wrestling. Yeah, I know it’s fake… I’m not stupid but I just watch it ’cause I respect what those guys do. They work hard to entertain people. Give their blood, sweat and tears so that’s why I pretty much support the wrestling business. I’m about to make another post on why the wrestling business should be respected ’cause I know they get a lot of criticism over the years.

Thoughts and prayers goes out to Ric Flair and his family… hope he pulls through…

Sad news that wrestling legend, Ric Flair has been hospitalized due to major heart problems. He’s just out of surgery and now he’s in an induced coma.

http://www.tmz.com/2017/08/14/ric-flair-hospitalized/

http://www.tmz.com/2017/08/14/ric-flair-surgery-medically-induced-coma/

This sucks ’cause Ric Flair is one of my favorite wrestlers of all-time.

Even though Ric had his final wrestling match with Shawn Michaels at WM-24 which was in 2008, Ric kept performing in the business over the years. Why did he keep perform despite the retirement? Well simply because he loves the wrestling business. Wrestling has always been in his blood. He took wrestling as a huge passion and he shows that he loves it so I believe he didn’t do it for the money at all.

Ric worked for all wrestling companies over the years… he worked for: WWF/WWE, WCW and TNA-Impact. Ric has always been an amazing performer. He was definitely one of the best wrestlers in the business and most importantly of all, he delivered the best mic promos too. Whether Ric played a heel or a babyface, he did both really well. When he played a heel, he was really good at getting people to boo him and when he played a babyface, he was really good at getting people to cheer him.

Everybody respected the hell out of Ric Flair ’cause no doubt, he’s an icon in the business. He’s one of my top 5 favorite wrestlers other than the Ultimate Warrior, Owen Hart, Macho Man Randy Savage and Mick Foley.

Ric was the one who helped his daughter, Charlotte Flair (real name: Ashley) into the WWE.

This sucks.I hope Ric pulls through. Prayers go out to him and his family.

Dana Warrior aka the widow of the Ultimate Warrior gives a tour of the Warrior home before she moves away…

These are very cool videos that I thought I would share them here. Many of you know that I’m a big wrestling fan and the Ultimate Warrior is one of my favorite wrestlers. Some of you may think that some legendary wrestlers live in huge mansions with lots of rooms and a huge swimming pool and all that crap but did the Warrior have all that? Apparently, no. Ultimate Warrior who’s real name was Jim Hellwig lived a pretty normal lifestyle as you can see here.

The Warrior family lives in a pretty regular sized home. The home is very cool, though and pretty unique looking. This is the home where Warrior made all of his past videoblogs in… he also made his videoblogs in his home gym. Dana Warrior also gives a tour of his gym in the video above.

Check ’em out. Cool stuff.

Dana Warrior and the girls are moving away ’cause she got a job in WWE, I think. It’s a shame they gotta leave this legendary home behind and unfortunately, they got to put the home up for sale which I’m sure will cost a fortune.

In my opinion, a different family shouldn’t live in the home after Dana and the girls move out — I think the home should be turned into a museum of some sorts as a way to keep Warrior’s legacy alive. That’s a legendary home where a big wrestling legend lived in so it’s gonna be worth a lot. I’m sure the home would cost a fortune.

I do miss the Ultimate Warrior like most ’cause he was a hero to me too. I used to watch his video blogs on his youtube channel. He did his best to help everybody believe that life really mattered and he did his best to get people to do something with yourself instead of wasting it. That’s what he mostly focused on through his youtube videos. Of course, can’t forget his videos where he publicly railed against Hulk Hogan.

I feel bad for Dana and the girls, though, they must miss him everyday.

No matter what your thoughts are on the Trump beating up CNN wrestling gif, it’s good publicity for WWE and I’m sure Vince is happy.

Yesterday, Trump posted a WWE gif that got the internet going crazy. As the title of this topic says, no matter what your thoughts on the WWE gif that Trump posted on twitter, it’s good publicity for WWE on both sides of the spectrum. Trump got the right and the left talking about WWE. In other words, Trump  just gave WWE a pretty big shout out yesterday.

To those of you that don’t know, Trump and Vince McMahon has a long history together. They go way back so they’ve been friends for a long time. Back in the 80’s, Trump had a few Wrestlemania events at Trump Plaza a long time ago in Atlantic City. Trump has always been supportive of WWE and the wrestling business. That’s why Donald Trump got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and it’s why Trump got the opportunity to perform at Wrestlemania 23 for the “Battle of the Billionaires” storylines and take part in the “Hair vs. Hair” match.

No matter what peoples thoughts of Trump’s WWE gif are, I’m sure Vince is happy that the political world is talking about WWE. So could the American people start tuning into WWE shows like RAW/SD/NXT/PPV’s? We’ll see how WWE ratings do now that Trump gave WWE a shoutout. It could get more people interested in wrestling.

I’m pretty positive Vince would have no problem of Trump posting that wrestling gif so don’t get your hopes up if Vince is planning on suing Trump ’cause it won’t happen. Vince and Trump has been friends for years. They’ve always been business partners too. Trump has always been pretty close to the McMahon family and the proof is in the pic above. Vince’s wife who is Linda McMahon is part of the Trump admin. as she works for the SBA.

Could ratings for RAW and Smackdown go up a little this week after Trump posting that gif? We’ll wait and find out what happens.

Kev

RAW ratings getting lower & lower? No surprise. Hey Vince, people want to see “wrestling”, not “family entertainment”…

Last Monday’s RAW which was May 29th was the second lowest rated in WWE HIstory. There was one WCW Monday Nitro episode that did a lot lower. RAW ratings has been getting lower and lower these days.

Check out this article:

http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2017/0602/626759/wwe-monday-night-raw-rating-second-lowest-in-history/

Since the RAW ratings has been getting so low, this made former WWE writer, Vince Russo reach out to Vince McMahon in hopes of maybe returning to WWE as a writer. There’s a lot of talk that Vince maybe all for Russo in coming back ’cause pro wrestling these days needs a lot of help.

Why are WWE shows tanking in the ratings these days? Hmmmmmm let me guess these reasons, shall we?

  • People don’t like the PG era of wrestling: The PG era of wrestling has been going on for too long now and we’re fed up with it. Watching WWE shows these days feels like watching Disney almost which is sad.
  • Vince McMahon ignores “wrestling” completely: Vince doesn’t want anything to do with wrestling in WWE anymore. He can ignore the wrestling part all he wants but WWE will always be wrestling no matter what you think of it. We just want Vince calling it “wrestling” again like he used to do in the 80’s and 90’s.
  • Bad storylines: Storylines in WWE are starting to get bad again. Sometimes they get real good and sometimes they go downhill. Well, they’re going downhill. I think this Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt feud is really dumb.
  • Bad booking of ppv shows: Enough said? The booking of matches is getting horrible these days as well.
  • Vince pushes the WWE superstars that he likes, not giving what the fans want: For example, Vince keeps ramming Roman Reigns down our throats. A lot of wrestling fans don’t like Roman Reigns and they feel that Vince should be pushing some of the other talent to the top that deserve it more… for example superstars like Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Luke Harper deserves to get pushed more.
  • We want to see Hardcore wrestling back and bring back the blood too: I really miss the hardcore days of wrestling back in the day. Wow. That was some great shit! Back in the days when WWE used to be real good. Lots of barbed wire, thumb tacks and all kinds of weapons were being used. I miss all the blood in wrestling too ’cause the blood is what makes wrestling matches exciting as hell. God, I miss the old days!

There, you get the idea. For the most part, people are getting fed up with wrestling being for children. How about something for everybody, ya know?

The problem is Vince just like to please himself when it comes to WWE shows. Everything you see on TV goes through Vince’s approval. If he likes it, he’ll use it. If he doesn’t he’ll trash it. Read Chris Jericho’s books for proof on that. He really needs to concentrate on giving what the fans want but he never does.

How about changing the WWE shows that are more aimed toward the “smart” fans instead of trying to reach an audience who are “marks”? The wrestling term “mark” is a fan who believes wrestling is real. A “smart” fan means the complete opposite.

Yeah, I’m a huge wrestling fanatic but would like to see the business improve myself. Sad ’cause there are so many talented new and young talent like Finn Balor, Aj Styles and Samoa Joe are a few of my favorites right now. Another favorite performer of mine is Asuka, who is a female wrestler on NXT but she’s not on RAW yet. She’s fucking awesome, though.

The WWE really need to step up their game. How about bringing back “wrestling”? That’s what people want to see!
