Stephen King says he’s “center left” in politics, meaning that he’s not all the way liberal… which is actually good!

Here’s a nice little interview with iconic writer, Stephen King and he was actually cool enough to go into details of his political views. On King’s twitter, he seems to be supportive of gun control, criticized taxation and bashed Republicans which he seems to be more and more liberal. Turns out that Stephen admits he is “center left” which I think means somewhere in the middle. It means that he probably has some “conservative” views as well.

When King writes his novels, he likes to write characters that have both liberal and “conservative” views depending on the characters.

Well, at least King isn’t a “die-hard” liberal which still makes him “cool”, in my book so I’ll still support him.

Video: Obama awards a bunch of artistic people including Stephen King, Sally Field and more…

I think this is good enough proof that Obama is nothing but a narcissistic jackass. A man who is obsessed with his own self. Living in his own little world that he thinks he’s god or something.

These are the kind of things he does to get America to treat him positively while at the same time he’s destroying our country. Obama is intentionally destroying our country but delusional people continue to blindly support him. Obama doesn’t care about ruining Americans lives so he does something like this to get their minds off of it. Right now the liberal community is going, “OMG, congrats to Stephen King and the rest of the recipients”.

Even though Stephen King is turning out to be a die-hard liberal, I still love his stories and his writing. It doesn’t mean I’ll burn all of his books ’cause he supports Obama. Stephen King meets the antichrist and tyrant, now that’s a horror story he can write! Ha! Anyway, I’ll still support and love King’s work ’cause he is my favorite writer regardless of his liberal politics.

I just came up with a video idea about “People treating Obama positively and why they shouldn’t”. That’s a nice idea, really. I’ll start writing the script today and might have it up this weekend or next week.

Obama trying to look like a hero before his presidency goes out. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.

Ron Howard’s “The Dark Tower” film finally sets a release date for January 13th, 2017…

After being rejected by a few major film studios, “The Dark Tower” which the first movie will be directed by Ron Howard finally finds a new home… Sony. It’s good that Sony hasn’t bailed out on them and committed to making the movie with Ron. The first Dark Tower film which is untitled as of this moment will be released on January 13th, 2017.

Javier Bardem used to be signed to the leading role of Roland Deschain the Gunslinger but he changed his mind about the role and dropped out.

Sony Slates 16 Films Including ‘The Dark Tower’, ‘Jumanji’ Reboot & Two ‘Bad Boys’

Who’s gonna be playing Roland? I’d still say Hugh Jackman ’cause he would be perfect for the character, in my opinion. Kurt Russell won’t be a bad choice as well. The books doesn’t get specific about Roland’s age but the way he is through the books, he looks to be around 40’s – 50’s. Middle aged. So the actor for Roland needs to be older.

They should start casting pretty soon I would think. I hope Ron makes the first Dark Tower movie really good and I predict a huge box office smash. This film series could be bigger than Harry Potter, The Hungers Games, LOTR, etc. Be on the lookout for another big franchise, y’all!

Ron Howard’s “Dark Tower” adaptation gets green lighted by Sony Studios…

Universal Studios said no. Warner Bros. says no. Sony Studios says, “Yes” to Ron Howard’s “Dark Tower” adaptation by Stephen King. These guys are struggling to get these films made. I would think the reason is, they’re too expensive and so much work. The other studios didn’t want to deal with all that.

I hope Sony won’t bail out as well and hope they do a good job with the first, “Dark Tower” film. I’m a huge fan of the books myself as I’ve read them all. I’ve always wanted to see these books be made into big screen movies. I wish them good luck ’cause these movies would be difficult to get made.

I love how Ron Howard is committed to these films and admire how he hasn’t given up. He has a lot of passion for the “Dark Tower”. I have a feeling that when these movies come out, the “Dark Tower” could become the next big franchise. I predict the “Dark Tower” could become just as big as the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Star Wars.

The Dark Tower books are already very popular but these books will become best sellers again when the movies come out. A lot more people will be buying the books for sure. So I hope Sony does a good job. This is still gonna be a combination of movies and TV series like originally planned.

I hope they pick a good cast for Roland, Eddie Dean, Susan and Jake.

Stephen King’s “A Good Marriage”… a movie worth checking out!!!

Over the weekend, I’ve watched Stephen King’s, “A Good Marriage” on Netflix streaming. I actually liked it a lot! I had to watch it twice over the weekend. The movie is based upon the short novella written by King himself and he also wrote the screenplay for the film version.

This story is about a woman who is married to a man for over 20 years and then she finds out his dark secret. He’s a serial killer!!! Yep, she married a guy and raised a family and after all this time never knew about his serial killer past.

I loved the story because this is something that could happen for real. It already did happen for real because Stephen admits he inspired this story from the real life Dennis Rader BTK case.

Some of you know that I enjoy serial killer fiction which inspired my, “Evil Fred” song.

“A Good Marriage” by Stephen King didn’t get a lot of positive reviews but I actually loved it. Surprisingly, the book and the movie were pretty much the same except the ending from both is slightly different.

“A Good Marriage” was surprisingly enjoyable. It seemed pretty realistic and this could happen to anybody. This story makes me never wanna get married ’cause you never know if your lover will have a dark past. HA, just kidding.

This movie is worth a look! Check it out!

The big screen version of Stephen King’s “The Stand” will be 4 parts and Matt McConaughey set to play Randall Flagg!!!

Even more good movie news, the big screen version of “The Stand” based upon the book by Stephen King will be split into 4 parts. “The Fault In Our Stars” director, Josh Boone will helm the big screen version of “The Stand”. Matt McConaughey have also been signed to play the film’s main villain, Randall Flagg which is gonna be awesome!!!

http://www.theguardian.com/film/2014/nov/24/matthew-mcconaughey-the-stand-stephen-king-adaptation

I remember seeing the mini-series version of “The Stand” on TV w/ Gary Sinise in the leading role and I remember it being pretty good.

I’m excited for Matt McConaughey playing Randall Flagg. Randall Flagg is a very popular Stephen King villain. Matt have been my favorite actor for a long while now. I’ve been impressed with him as of late. I loved Matt’s acting in movies like “Interstellar”, “The Wolf Of Wall Street” and “Killer Joe”. “The Lincoln Lawyer” was a pretty good movie too.

I think Matt’s gonna make a great, Randall Flagg. He’s gonna kill that role. Some of you out there may have not seen Matt play a villain before but he did play a villain in a movie before. Check out his movie, “Killer Joe” and you would see that he can play a great villain that makes you want to hate him.

Why is the big screen movie gonna be 4 parts? It’s because the novel is pretty thick. If they made it one movie, it would be a long movie so they would have to split in parts so they can fit the whole story as much as possible.

I’m gonna have to re-read “The Stand” novel. Haven’t read it in a long time.

New “Carrie” film thoughts…

Earlier this week, I finally gotten around to watching the new “Carrie” film w/Chloe Moretz. The film based on Stephen King’s first novel and the remake from the 1976 film by Brian Depalma.

I thought the new “Carrie” film was pretty good actually. This film was pretty faithful to the book for the most part. It followed the original story pretty well except for the ending. The ending was a little different. I thought Chloe made a good Carrie White but I was most impressed with Julianne Moore playing Margaret, Carrie’s mother. Julianne did a great job playing that character as expected.

I have a few complaints about the film; however, that the film had a bit too much GGI. There is a bit too much slo-mo as well. I also think they should have kept Stephen King’s ending in this movie. I don’t want to talk about the ending ’cause I don’t wanna spoil things. It’s obvious that the ending to the new “Carrie” left open for a sequel.

Other than that, this film wasn’t bad. The prom scene was actually BETTER than the Depalma version. I kind of was at the edge of my seat during Chloe’s prom scene. It was pretty intense.

This film wasn’t too bad. Pretty good but could have been better. Nothing I could watch over and over.

Book Review: Stephen King “Doctor Sleep”

DoctorSleep

This morning, I just finished reading Stephen King’s new book, “Doctor Sleep”, which is the sequel to “The Shining”.

Here’s the plot/synopsis of the story:

The story takes place years after the horrible events at the Overlook hotel… Dan Torrance, the son of Jack and Wendy, is now a middle-aged man and is also a recovering alcoholic. Dan still has this power called, the Shining — which has the ability to read peoples minds telepathically — a power that he had ever since he was a young child. There is a tribe of people called, The True Knot… they look like ordinary people but they are not — they are evil and dangerous who kidnap young children who also have, the Shining. They don’t kidnap random people… they only kidnap young children with the Shining. Dan must save this young girl named, Abra (who he befriended with) from the True Knot because they planned on taking her. Abra also has this power called the Shining in which her and Dan communicate with.

In this story, King returns to his roots… the horror genre as you can clearly see. That’s the genre that started his writing career. With books like: “Carrie”, “It”, “Salem’s Lot”, “Pet Sematary”, “Christine”, “Firestarter”, etc. Those were some of the scariest novels in his career. Horror is what he is most famous for. In this book, King tries his best to bring the “scare” back. King hasn’t written a horror novel in way over a decade and he decides to try to come back to it… see if he still has it. He wanted to try and give this book the same scare as he did with the first book, “The Shining”. I think he did just that. “Doctor Sleep” was still kind of scary in a way… King still got it!

“Doctor Sleep” was a nice throwback to “The Shining”. Of course, there was plenty of flashbacks from the first novel… it was pretty much a revisit.

I really liked the villains in this story… The True Knot. Making them look like normal people but they were psychotic much like Jack Torrance was in the first novel. There were a lot of similarities in the story from the first novel.

The pacing was good. King keeps you hooked through the story like he usually does. He has this way of keeping you reading and you can’t stop. It took me like 4 or 5 days to read this book. King has a lot of humor in this book as he always has funny stuff and jokes going through them. Most importantly, King tries his best to go back to his old writing style. When he was younger, his writing style was different than it is today. His writing style definitely changed over the years but he did a good job writing old-school with this one. This book felt like classic King — all the way.

Even though he tried his best to return to the genre he is known for… he should keep at it. He should keep writing horror. He shouldn’t leave horror behind ’cause that’s why his readers supported him to begin with. I’m sure his fans were wondering if he’s ever going back to horror; he finally listened to his “constant readers” (that’s what he calls his fans), and gave them what they wanted.

This was his best book in a long time. He never disappoints. Before you decide to read this book; however, you should read “The Shining” first ’cause if you don’t… you’ll be confused of the story. I think there’s going to be a third book ’cause this will end up being a trilogy. After I finished reading this book, I totally felt the story isn’t over yet. “Doctor Sleep” will probably get made into a movie too.
