Thoughts on the Motley Crue movie, “The Dirt” on Netflix, I thought it was surprisingly great! Very realistic too!!!

I’ve watched the Motley Crue biopic film on Netflix called “The Dirt” last Sunday night and I thought it was surprisingly good! I wasn’t much of a Motley Crue fan much over the years but after seeing this movie, makes me want to get into their music more. I’ve heard all of their hit songs on MTV, of course so I’m definitely familiar with their music. I only own one Motley Crue album which is “The Saints of Los Angeles” their latest album but I’m planning on getting their older albums soon.

As far the Dirt goes, I was surprised of how realistic and accurate the film was. Metal bands like that can be really crazy in real life with the all the sex, drugs and alcohol and all that stuff. Some of you may ask, is everything seen in the movie accurate? According to the band, Motley Crue themselves, they said yes everything in the movie is pretty much true. I’m gonna have to read the book now which was written by Tommy Lee.

The movie had some pretty mixed emotions, though. A lot of times the movie can be funny and entertaining as hell but at the same time it can also be scary and sad. Why is the film a bit scary? Probably ’cause of all the drug use in the movie and what drugs can really do to you, that’s one thing that film showed you. The film wanted to educate you about the dangers of drugs which they did a good job of, I think. The film also can be pretty sad and gotten serious like with the death of Vince’s daughter, Skylar which was the most serious part of the whole film.

I thought it was a great movie. It’s a great movie for die hard fans of Motley Crue and a good film for new fans too. I don’t know much about Motley Crue but I’m gonna have to learn more about them after seeing this movie. I definitely plan on watching this movie again on Netflix this week. Probably this weekend actually. The film was well-written and well-acted by the cast too. It’s recommended seeing for any music fan. You don’t even need to be a Motley Crue fan at all to watch this film. You can watch it to educate yourself on what the rock n’ roll lifestyle is really like. The rock n’ roll lifestyle may seem like a lot of fun but this film wants to show you that it isn’t always enjoyable.

Definitely check it out if you’re a Netflix subscriber.

What a week we’re having… Trump finally exonerated from Russian collusion, Michael Avenatti arrested for extortion, Pentagon authorizes $1 billion to build more of the wall, etc. etc. etc.

Some of you probably wanna know my thoughts on what’s going on in American politics this week and there’s a lot of good things going on.

Trump finally exonerated from Russian Collusion hoax. It was obvious from the get-go that the thought of Trump colluding with Russia to win the 2016 election was a conspiracy theory started by the left. I always knew it was bullshit ’cause Trump won the election fair and square. I know ’cause I’m one of the Trump voters. Trump is extremely popular with American voters. The American people proudly voted for him. 2 years of wasted investigations and lots of money being wasted, the Democrats still can’t find anything and they never will. Why? It’s because Trump isn’t a bad man. He’s no criminal of any kind even though the Democrats want him to be. They want to find a crime out of Trump but they will never find anything. Simply because Trump is no criminal like I said.

Obama and Hillary are the real criminals, when are they going to be investigated? When will Obama be investigated for Spygate against Trump and when will Hillary be investigated for the e-mail server? Lets investigate them now… fair is fair right?

I see an easy re-election coming for Trump in 2020. It’s going to be a crowded primary election ’cause there will be many Democrats and Republicans that are going to be running for president soon but Trump will beat them all easily. The Trump base is getting bigger and more powerful each year.

Trump finally cleared of the Russian scandal, soaring economy, we are getting the wall, Trump destroyed Isis for good, etc. If you think Trump is gonna lose in 2020, you’re delusional. Not happening, sorry y’all. Trump has been delivering every promise since 2016 and he’s still committed to the wall. The wall is happening and we are getting it. Very slowly but we are getting it.

Trump is the greatest president we’ve ever had since Ronald Reagan and Trump will indeed get my vote again in 2020. He’s doing a great job.

The media lying to you about the Russian collusion should be good enough for you to see that the mainstream media isn’t to be trusted: NBC, CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, the Washpost, etc. They all fucking suck. The Russian collusion is the biggest failure by the mainstream media in American history. It’s amazing to see really. We really need to move on from this Russia crap ’cause it’s getting old and tiresome. The Democrats never will but the rest of us really need to move on from it and focus on making America great again. It’s a pretty incredible week. I’m enjoying what I’m seeing.

Making videos on the Ipad sucks, I like making videos on the PC better…

While I love making videos for the internet, I don’t enjoy making videos on the Ipad, though. It’s kind of annoying ’cause making big videos takes up so much space and stuff. I prefer making videos on the PC more so sometime this year, I’m probably gonna buy some video making software for my PC. What software will I get?

I’ll probably end up getting the PC version of “Pinnacle Studio” ’cause it’s really nice. I have Pinnacle Pro studio for the Ipad 2 which costed me $12.99 but sometime this year probably in the Spring/Summer, I’m planning to buy the PC version. I’m going to plan on buying the newest Pinnacle Studio 22 but which version will I get?

I’ll probably get Pinnacle Studio the Ultimate Version:

This software is a little pricey but it’ll be worth it, I think. If I get that, I’ll be able to make even cooler videos and they’ll be more professional and Hollywood-like. I’ll get that software in a couple of months. Maybe in the month of May I’ll get it.

I definitely need to get new movie making software for sure ’cause the Ipad version of Pinnacle Pro is pretty small and basic but you can still make cool videos, though. I just want something bigger and better.

For now I’ll continue to make videos on the Ipad until I get new software for the PC.

Just got my JVC Everio handheld digital camera all ready to go… time to get back into videoblogging…

Well today, I got my JVC Everio handheld digital camera out and ready to go. Since that handheld video camera was purchased online like 10 years ago, I was worried that an old digital handheld camera wouldn’t work well on this computer. When I playback videos on this computer from the camera, it wasn’t working well at first ’cause all I was hearing was just audio and no picture. It then tells me in order to get picture on the videos, I needed to install an Mpeg 2 plugin which I did and it worked that time. Yep, my HD handheld Everio camera surprisingly works good still so I don’t need to bother buying a new video camera at all.

So for video equipment, I’ll be using a combination of the handheld Everio, an Ipad and an Ipod. The Ipad and the Ipod has decent picture quality but the Everio camera has even better picture quality.

I’m definitely ready to get back into making videobogs again. It seems that people are enjoying “My Story – Part 1” and I’m going to begin work on “My Story – Part 2” this week. I’m going to start writing the script down for “My Story – Part 2” tonight and will start filming tomorrow leading up to Saturday’s powerlifting meet.

I’m excited to get back into video blogging. As you can see on “My Story – Part 1”, I wasn’t kidding when I said I was going to make these videos into like my own TV series/reality show kind of thing but they will be internet exclusive only. I’ll be filming all of my lifts at the Powerlifting Meet with the handheld camera but I will get someone else to videotape me lifting, of course.

On the Everio camera, I was trying to figure out how to get videos off of there and import them to my Ipad but I can’t do that. I can only get the videos off the Everio and import them into my PC but there is a way I can get them onto my Ipad by uploading the videos in my dropbox account.

Glad to get my digital video camera working again. Now lets make some videos!

It is now 1 week out of powerlifting meet at Albany Strength… the meet is this coming Saturday…

Well, today I’m planning to hit the gym for back day but it’s gonna be another light, easy and quick day of lifting. I am done heavy lifting until meet day this coming Sat. March 30th at Albany Strength. Starting tomorrow, I’m gonna take 5 days off of gym ’cause I need plenty of resting and healing before meet day. Want to keep my strength so I can do well and kick ass on meet day March 30th.

That’s how you want to do powerlifting. Spend months and months with strength training but when it comes getting close to meet time, you gotta start calming down on the lifting by doing light weights and then take some days off before meet day.

So this week, I’m not gonna do much of anything. Don’t want to do too many physical things at all. I got to do stuff this week to get my mind off the competition. Gotta do stuff like play my guitar, play video games, watch movies, do some reading, etc. I’m also gonna start filming for “My Story – Part 2” this week as well.

I’m getting pretty stoked for my third powerlifting meet at Albany Strength gym this coming Saturday. I’m not nervous at all as I’m very confident that I’m gonna kick ass and bring it like I’ve been promising. I know I’m gonna do well. Of course, I’m gonna film all kinds of video footage of the meet for “My Story – Part 2”.

Can’t wait for March 30th, it’s gonna be a great day.

Plans for my power lifting meet at Albany Strength next Saturday…

So now it’s one-week out of the Power Lifting meet at Albany Strength next Saturday, I gotta start planning all my attempts for the big three lifts for that day. I’m gonna go for the numbers that I can do with good form, but I think I’m gonna challenge myself on a few things to get new PR’s that day.

I’m gonna write these planned attempts on a piece of paper and bring it with me to the meet.

Here are my 3 planned attempts for all three lifts for March 30th meet:

Squat: Attempt 1 – 115 lbs. Attempt 2 – 135 lbs. Attempt 3 – 150 lbs.

Bench: Attempt 1 – 135 lbs. Attempt 2 – 150 lbs. Attempt 3 – 160 lbs.

Deadlift: Attempt 1 – 285 Attempt 2 – 300 lbs. Attempt 3 – 315 lbs.

For bench, I wasn’t able to get 160 lbs. at all lately. I’ve got it once before and hoping to get it again next Saturday. Maybe it’s because I’m so used to unracking the bar myself instead of having someone give me a lift-off? That could be the reason I wasn’t able to hit 160 ’cause I was unracking the bar myself and making me weaker. If I have a spotter give me a lift-off, then maybe I’ll definitely smash a 160 lb. bench easily? I’m gonna give it a shot.

As for deadlift, I’m planning to challenge myself with a 315 lb. Last time I maxed out on deadlift at the gym a few weeks ago, I smashed an easy 310 and felt like I could do a little more. I think I’ll be able to smash a 315 with no problem. 315 lbs. is gonna be tough and I’m probably gonna be a little shaky but I think I can do it. We’ll see.

When you do a powerlifting meet, you have to make your opening attempts an easy lift. When I watch live powerlifting online, a lot of lifters open too heavy which is why they miss too many lifts. I’m not gonna do that. It’s a smart thing to do is to open your attempt pretty easy. Your second attempt should be easy too, semi-heavy but something manageable, ya know? When you want to challenge yourself with the big ones, that should ALWAYS be your final attempt. Make the first two pretty easy and then challenge yourself last.

If I happen to miss the 160 bench and the 315 deadlift then who cares? Not the end of the world. Just move on and keep working for it.

I’m getting excited for the next Power Lifting meet, though. The meets at Albany Strength are such a blast. I love showing off what I can do and love watching other lifters as well.

Btw, it seems like people are already enjoying the “My Story” video. 30 views on youtube and almost 80 views on FB. Not too bad.

The next “My Story” video will be the Albany Strength powerlifting meet so I think that video will definitely get a lot more views then. I’m already thinking about and plotting what “My Story – Part 2” is gonna be. “My Story” is gonna be an ongoing series, I think.

Greta Van Fleet being hated on for being a Led Zeppelin rip off is unfair but at the same time, it’s a good thing…

Oh my god. Greta Van Fleet is being hated on left and right in the music industry. They are even being hated on by other famous musicians and bands. It’s crazy, ya know? A lot of famous musicians voiced their opinions on Greta Van Fleet and they aren’t good. In the music industry, there are mixed opinions about Greta Van Fleet… some are positive and some negative. Well, it’s expected when the band is about ready to blow up in the industry big time which they already did.

Yeah, the band sounds very much like Led Zep but who cares, ya know? Greta Van Fleet is still a rockin’ band. They are all talented musicians and they are all on point. Bands ripping off other bands is nothing new so why does Greta Van Fleet get targeted for ripping off other bands? I mean look at all the Nirvanas out there who ripped off Nirvana. Look at all the Metallicas out there who ripped off Metallica. Look at all the Alice In Chains’s who ripped off Alice In Chains. Look at all the Pearl Jams out there who ripped off Pearl Jam. Okay, I think you get my point. Bands rip each other off all the freakin’ time.

On top of that, there were too many other bands who ripped off Led Zeppelin long before Greta Van Fleet came around! What’s funny about all of this is that Led Zeppelin even ripped off their sound from other bands ’cause I’ll admit it Led Zep stole a lot of stuff.

Why is Greta Van Fleet getting targeted for ripping off other bands when bands ripping off each other is a pretty common thing in the industry? Like I said, who cares! It’s just music, ya know?

Anyway, while all of this is unfair for Greta Van Fleet, at the same time, it’s a good thing that they’re getting accused of ripping off Led Zeppelin. It means they’re doing something right. I think people are getting mad at Greta Van Fleet is because they know that they came this close to sounding exactly like Led Zeppelin and no other bands could come close to matching their sound. I think people hate for that reason. They know that Greta Van Fleet and Led Zep almost sound exactly the same. Other bands try to sound like Led Zeppelin but they all fail. The only band that could do it is Greta Van Fleet. I think they just hate out of jealousy nothing more ’cause they wish they could sound like Led Zeppelin.

It’s not Greta Van Fleet’s fault that they sound like Led Zep. They just happen to be huge fans of the band and that’s what happens to musicians when they are influenced by someone. When you’re influenced by a musician you admire, you tend to sound like them by listening to them for a long time. That happens with all musicians, you sound like your heroes.

By the way, I think Greta Van Fleet is a kick ass band. I love them. I’ll buy every album they come out with and I hope I get my chance to see them live.

“The Brock’s Videoblog: My Story – Part 1″…. it’s online now!

Hope you guys enjoy. I had to re-upload this video a couple of times ’cause I noticed some issues with “volume” in some scenes so I had to get that taken care of. Now I think it’s perfect and ready to go online.

Enjoy, y’all. This is only the beginning of “My Story” and I’m only getting started.

Woodstock 50 lineup released today and people are bashing it like crazy…

The official Woodstock festival founded by Michael Lang released the lineup today. They are in a huge backlash ’cause of the lineup. People bashing it like crazy and saying all kinds of negative things about the lineup. From what I’m seeing, I’m seeing a lot of people complaining how this isn’t like the original ’69 lineup of how this lineup doesn’t have enough acts from the ’69 Woodstock.

Are they  on drugs or something? There are plenty of artists on this lineup that are from the original Woodstock festival in ’69. Let’s see: Santana, Canned Heat, Melanie, Country Joe McDonald (who was in Country Joe and the Fish), John Fogerty (Creedence was at Woodstock ’69), etc. etc.

As far as the different genres goes, that’s nothing new with Woodstock. They have always had different genres at all their Woodstocks over the years so it’s nothing new.

As far as my thoughts on the lineup goes, I think it’s pretty good. A lot of good talent here: Greta Van Fleet, Sturgill Simpson, Dead & Company, John Fogerty, Brandi Carlile, The Black Keys, Robert Plant and the Sensational Spaceshifters, The Raconteurs (this is Jack White’s band, btw) and I think the Killers are a pretty damn good band too.

I have no problem with the lineup except my only complaint is that it ignored metal for this one: no Metallica? No Megadeth? No Slayer? No Iron Maiden? No Ac/Dc? No Guns N’ Roses? Any of these bands would have been cool.

Anyway, we’re in a new generation of music lovers who won’t understand Woodstock and their history so it’s understandable why people of today are gonna get mad. There are gonna be a lot of people who aren’t with the times.

I do find it weird that Pussy Riot has been booked and I’m like WTF? It’s going to be interesting with that performance and no doubt some controversy will come out of that one. Will Pussy Riot get booed off the stage?

I told you this festival is going to have some rap artists ’cause previous Woodstocks had some rap artists. They had rap artists at Woodstock ’94 and ’99.

Other than that, it’s not a bad lineup. I’m glad Greta Van Fleet and Robert Plant are on the same bill together even though they are booked at different days. Will Greta Van Fleet and Robert Plant perform together? I think it’s a possibility they will do a duet together and it will be cool to see Josh and Robert sing together. Greta Van Fleet are huge Led Zeppelin fans and I’m sure it will be a dream come true for the band if they performed with Robert Plant. It’s a possibility that could happen so we’ll just wait.

“The Brock’s Videoblog: My Story – Part 1” will be released to the internet this Thursday…

I’ve watched “The Brock’s Videoblog: My Story – Part 1” several times over the weekend. Just finished editing it, the way I wanted it and it came out beautifully. Ya know, when making your own videoblogs, documentaries and even short films… you don’t need expensive and fancy equipment. All you need is an Ipad and Ipod/Iphone with a good camera on them and maybe an HD handheld digital videocamera and you’ll be all set. You also don’t need to spend a couple of hundred dollars on expensive video making software too. You can get decent video making software or apps that would cost around $15 – $50. You can make Hollywood-like movies through affordable video making software/apps nowadays.

I’m very proud of this videoblog and I will release it this coming Thursday. First thing I’ll do when I wake up Thursday morning, I’ll upload it for the internet. I’ll release it for both Facebook and youtube. Yeah, I finally decided that I would make a return to youtube after all. After a long hiatus from youtube, I think I’ll return full time.

I’m hoping it’ll get a lot of views and maybe it could go viral if lucky enough but we’ll see what happens. Looking forward for you all to see it. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time really.
