I don’t understand why some don’t like the bench press. It’s a great workout and it’s helping me get more gains!

Well, I’m so glad that I’ve gotten into bench pressing full time. I’m noticing that the bench press workout is helping me get more gains and I’ve been noticing that my chest is beefing up ’cause of it. So many lifters like to trash the bench press and I don’t know why. In the past, I used to be a critic of the “bench press” exercise but it grew on me and now I love it. I think the barbell flat bench is better than dumbbell press but that’s my opinion. My upper body is starting to look like a bodybuilder ’cause the bench is helping.

Some say that the bench is hard on the shoulders and you could get shoulder injuries ’cause of it. Well, the bench don’t have to be hard on the shoulders. You just got to know where to hold the bar in the air and know where to bring it down. Keeping your elbows tucked in while benching is key to saving your shoulders. There are ways to save your shoulders benching, you just gotta know how to do it.

I’m finding benching pretty addicting. A lot of people say it’s the most dangerous workout but it don’t have to be as long as you know what you’re doing and doing it responsibly. To me, I think it’s a pretty safe  and easy workout. Of course, when you go for the heavy weights on the bench get a spotter whenever you think you’re in need of one.

I’m liking the bench press a lot as it’s helping my chest grow and like I said, I’m starting to look like a bodybuilder finally which I’m very proud about. I’m going to keep benching full time and just ignore the critics. Bench press overrated? Not really.

I think bench press is the best compound workout. The reason I’m getting into bench press, squats and deadlift full time is ’cause I need to do more compound stuff than just isolation stuff. In the past, I’ll admit that I’ve been focusing more on isolation stuff but I need to do more compound exercises which I’ve been doing.

I think the bench press is one workout that deserves more respect. I think some don’t like it out of fear of an accident or an injury or something, that’s probably what it is. I used to avoid the bench press like the plague but now I’m all over it and feel great about it.

Saw the “Green Book” movie and I freakin’ loved it… pretty amazing and well-done film!

Yesterday afternoon, I saw the “Green Book” movie. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about this movie and it looked interesting to me so I went to see it for myself. I thought it was a very good movie. It was pretty amazing really and I was really impressed with it. It’s definitely one of the best movies of this year for sure.

This is a drama/comedy film about friendship and it’s also a road movie as you can see. There’s a lot of road movies out there but this one of the best road movies I’ve seen in a long time. This is a film about a nightclub bouncer who’s looking for work while the club he worked at closed down for a while due to renovations. This nightclub bouncer whose name is Tony Lip (played by Viggo Mortesen) just didn’t want to stay home and do nothing and he just wanted to keep working. Tony gets hired to be a driver for a black man who is a virtuoso pianist by the name of Dr. Don Shirley (played by Mahershala Ali). Don Shirley is about to go on tour for his piano playing and he wants Tony to be his driver. They go down South for the tour. At first they had a hard time getting along for the first half of the movie and the second half, they became really close friends. Since these two are on the road, they will of course experience quite an adventure and they will experience a lot of ups and downs while on tour. There will be a lot of funny moments and a lot of emotional moments. This movie is taking place during the early 60’s so it will be taken place during the times of the segregation, back in the times when blacks weren’t accepted in this country.

I thought this movie was well done overall. Great writing, great acting, great directing and great cinematography as well. Of course, I was impressed with the film’s leading stars, Viggo and Mahershala. I think those two are going to get Oscar nominated for sure. Will this film get “Best Picture” nomination as well? Hopefully and I think it will. There are plenty of buddy movies out there but if you want to watch a real buddy movie, see this one. This movie had a lot of heart and it really showed you what friendship between two men is all about. A lot of times, two men who are best friends with each other first met by not getting along at first. I think this film can relate to every man in this country for this reason. I certainly made friends with other guys by not getting along with them at first. Happens with everybody. That’s how friendships grow.

I thought it was a beautifully made movie. It was perfect. Hollywood certainly doesn’t make movies like this anymore. After all the popcorn movies and action flicks full of CGI, it was refreshing to finally watch a serious movie like this. I love serious drama films and we need more of them.

Go see “Green Book” before it stops playing. You won’t be disappointed at all.

Rant about bringing backpacks, bookbags, gym bags into movie theaters… why do theaters target men with large bags and not women who bring in large pocketbooks? Double standard?

Earlier today, I went to Criterion Cinemas in downtown Saratoga Springs to go see the movie, “Green Book” (which was a very good movie btw and I plan on posting a brief review of that movie in a little bit). In the morning I went to the gym at the Saratoga Springs branch YMCA and brought my gym bag with me. After I got done with the gym, I walked to downtown Saratoga Springs to spend the rest of the day there. Later in the afternoon, I went to Criterion Cinemas to see the “Green Book” movie.

When I walked into the theaters, I had my gym bag on my back as I walked in. I walked to the ticket taker guy, gave him my ticket and then he looked at me like if I was an evil person for a few minutes. Then he demands that I should let him check my bag. I’m like… wtf? This happened before when I went to the same theater with my gym bag but it was a different guy at the ticket taker stand. Instead of asking to check my bag, this guy was a real asshole about it. At first, I tried to refuse and told him, “It’s nothing but gym stuff in it. Like clothes and things like that” but nope… he demanded once again to let him check it. So I said to myself, “fuck it, just do what he says and get it over with”. I thought about sticking up for myself and calling out this guy on his bullshit but all that is gonna do is that this guy will get the manager after me and I’ll probably get kicked out of the theater. So I gave up and let him check my bag.

I know this is nothing new with movie theaters as they are all like this… the ticket takers targeting men who bring in large bags into the theaters but there are plenty of women who walk into the theaters with large pocketbooks and other bags. The ticket taker never targets them to search their bags. Double standard? Yes.

From what I’m understanding, it is not the company’s policy for the ticket taker to search guy’s bags. They don’t have a right to check what’s in them ’cause it’s none of their business of what’s in their bags. Guys of all ages deserve their privacy. I’m almost pretty sure the managers don’t give orders to the ticket taker to search men’s bags. Why do the ticket taker target men of all ages who bring in back packs, gym bags, book bags and whatever? Maybe it’s because they hate their jobs and they just want something to do. They want to look tough ’cause they are the one who is taking your ticket and they would do anything get a raise from their managers.

I understand it’s a safety issue and understand they are worried about you sneaking snacks in but I think it’s ridiculous that they look at you like if you’re an evil person for walking in with a big bag. I go to the movie theaters with my gym bag ’cause I have no place to put it after a gym day. After gym day, I just go straight to the movie theaters instead of home ’cause I’m walking and stuff, ya know? I got dropped off in Saratoga Springs so I was walking.

The movie theaters aren’t the fucking TSA. Us men should have the right to go in theaters with bags just like women have the right to go in with their pocketbooks. Earlier today, I saw a bunch of women walking in the theaters with pocketbooks that were much bigger than my gym bag and the ticket guy didn’t search them. Freakin’ bullshit really.

I should have the right to not let him check my bag. I have my rights too. None of your fucking business of what’s in my bag, buddy. Here’s a big fuck you on this one. Haha…

Cool pic of Sly Stallone and Arnold having dinner together in Vegas… why have they been hanging out lately? Planning a movie or something?

Sly’s official clothing line on instagram posted a cool pic of Sly Stallone himself and Arnold having a Sushi dinner together at some restaurant in Las Vegas. Sly is just getting done filming Rambo and now he has some free time to do whatever he wants for himself so it looks like him and Arnold took a trip to Vegas this week. I notice Sly and Arnold has been hanging out again. Why? Are they planning a movie together or they just plain hanging out as buddies and that’s it?

Well Sly still has “Expendables 4” in development and maybe Sly’s been talking with Arnold in starring in the next Expendables movie. That could be what’s going on.

You see, Sly and Arnold may not have starred in many movies over the years together but they have been great friends for many years even though both of them are action movie icons. For many years they’ve avoided starring in films together until now. Now the two of them have starred in 4 films together: the first three Expendables and the first “Escape Plan” movie. Will they star in more movies together? “Expendables 4” yes, absolutely but as for other films, I don’t know.

I’m not a big fan of Arnold’s politics but I still respect him the Hollywood icon that he is, you can’t deny that. I love Arnold in the movies. Always had for a pretty long time. I grew up watching Arnold in the movies and I grew up watching Sly’s movies too. I grew up watching both of them.

I’m glad to see Sly and Arnold have become best friends. Maybe one day Sly will direct a movie with Arnold in the leading role and Sly won’t be in it. That’ll be cool too and I can see that happening one day. I hope they will do “Expendables 4” and they probably will.

Top 15 Movies I’m looking forward to in 2019…

It’s almost at the end of the year and I wanted to list all the movies I’m looking forward to seeing in the year 2019. There are some good ones coming out. This isn’t a best of list or anything, just movies I look most forward to seeing next year.

Here is the list in no particular order:

  • Star Wars Episode IX: The final film of the new Star Wars trilogy is of course on my list. I’ve seen all the new Star Wars films Disney has been putting out lately and I think they’re doing a good job with them. Yes, I did love “The Last Jedi”… I thought it was brilliant.
  • Avengers: Endgame: No new Batman and Superman movie that year but I’ll take a new Avengers film anytime. I love the first three Avengers films and looking forward to the fourth one. From what I’m seeing, this is the final Avengers film and it looks great.
  • Rambo: Last Blood: The fifth Rambo film is still slated for a 2019 release date so hopefully it sticks and the release doesn’t get any push backs. I’m definitely looking forward to the new Rambo and will be seeing it no matter what.
  • Terminator 6: Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamiliton reuniting for the next Terminator? Fuck yeah. Any Terminator fan would be crazy to skip this one.
  • Toy Story 4: I’m a huge Toy Story fan. Loved the first three movies and definitely looking forward to 4.
  • Captain Marvel: One superhero movie I’m actually looking forward to see. So far from what I’m seeing of this movie, I’m liking it.
  • Godzilla: King of the Monsters: Just saw the trailer for this flick and I’m a huge Godzilla fan so I’ll probably end up seeing this one.
  • It: Chapter Two: The sequel to Stephen King movie is coming out soon and I’ll probably go see this one too. In this film, the Losers Club will be full grown adults this time. Should be an interesting movie.
  • Once Upon A Time In  Hollywood: A new Quentin Tarantino movie based on the Charles Manson murders is coming out and I’m definitely going to see this one. I love Tarantino movies so I can’t miss this one.
  • Scary Stories To Tell In the Dark: I used to be a huge fan of these books when I was a kid so I’m looking forward to the movie adaptation. Looking forward to seeing what they’re going to do with it.
  • Joker: The Todd Phillips directed “Joker” movie which stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. Definitely not gonna miss this one ’cause it’s looking good so far from what I’ve seen.
  • Hellboy: I’m a pretty big Hellboy fan. Loved the original movie so I’m hoping the remake will be good and probably will be.
  • Ad Astra: An outer space science fiction movie that stars Brad Pitt. Haven’t seen any trailers for it yet or anything but from what I’m hearing about it looks pretty interesting. Science fiction is slowly making a comeback anyway.
  • Midsommar: The director of “Hereditary” horror film is coming out with another horror film next year and it’s going to be about the Pagan cult. Ari Aster did a great job with “Hereditary” so I’m sure this one is gonna be good too.
  • The Irishman: New Martin Scorsese film coming out that has an all-star cast… Robert Deniro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, etc. This film is based on a real life crime story. Yeah, Robert Deniro’s politics suck ass but he’s still a talented actor and I’m probably gonna go see this one anyways.

That’s it. Enjoy the list, y’all!

It is possible to get big and huge naturally, don’t listen to those who thinks it’s impossible…

There’s a lot of people out there that believe that getting huge in bodybuilding is a really slow process and takes forever but it don’t have to be! A lot of people want to accuse bodybuilders with huge physiques of using steroids but never judge the book by it’s cover. If you want to get a big physique like Brock Lesnar, Dave Bautista, Jay Cutler, Dwayne Johnson, Hulk Hogan and guys such as those… it is definitely possible to look like those guys without steroids and other drugs that enhances your physique.

I really want to prove that you can get there. Get huge and jacked like those pro bodybuilders, movie stars and wrestlers. Yes, you can look like that naturally. Anybody that says you can’t is a stupid idiot.

You can’t always call every huge bodybuilder a juicehead ’cause it’s completely unfair and wrong, in my opinion. It’s definitely possible to get huge quicker. How? 3 things… 1) Lift hard with intensity and good form 2) Eat a clean nutrition most of the time 3) Get plenty of resting and lots of sleep. That’s pretty much it really. I used to believe that I don’t have good genetics but maybe my genetics are decent after all ’cause I’m getting some pretty good gains all over. I’m feeling bigger the more I hit the gym.

All the feedback I got from my latest progress pics were pretty amazing and I feel humbled with the positive feedback. All the hard work really is paying off. If getting huge in bodybuilding is your goal then don’t be afraid of it and go for it. Don’t listen to all the critics, haters and just do your thing. That’s what I did. If you want to get a big physique, you got to stay consistent and not give up. If you give up and slack off from the gym, you’re not going to reach your goals. That’s why I’ve been hitting the gym 4 times a week for the past year or so and it’s going real good.

My routine used to be 3 days a week but I boosted it up to 4. I go back and forth like that every now and then but now I’m going to keep it 4 days a week permanently. So far, it’s going really good and I haven’t skipped a workout day at all lately. If you keep doing that, stay consistent and don’t give up at all, you’ll get big in no time.

I talk about working out and bodybuilding, not just for myself, I do it also hoping to inspire and motivate others to hit the gym too. It’s not just about me at all.

Why my personal records on bench and squats are behind on the deadlift pr’s… I’ll figure out a way to catch up quickly, though…

So my personal records on deadlift, squats and bench are these:

Deadlift: 295 lbs.
Squats: 125 lbs.
Bench: 150 lbs.

Why is it that my bench and squats are lower than my deadlift pr’s? It’s simply because my squats and bench are weaker than deadlift obviously. I’ll get much stronger on bench and squats, I just gotta keep working on them and I have been working on them every week. I figured out why my pr’s haven’t been going up rapidly on squats and bench. I think it’s because for the first two sets on squats and bench, I’ve been doing hypertrophy training for muscle development really. I gotta stop that and gotta start doing a lot more heavy sets and low rep ranges.

For example, I got to do the progressive overload method meaning putting more weight on each set and going lower in reps for each set. I gotta start doing something like this:

Set 1 for 12 reps
Set 2 for 8 reps
Set 3 for 5 reps
Set 4 for 3 reps
Set 5 for 1 rep

I gotta start doing something like that and I will. If I keep doing squats and bench like that, my personal records will definitely go up pretty fast.

Usually for bodybuilding, I would only do 4 sets of each workout for strength training it’s different. In strength training, you gotta do more than 4 sets I hear.

I want to be able to squat and bench over 200 and hopefully catch up to my deadlift numbers too.

Powerlifting training is definitely slightly different than bodybuilding training. Both are not the same ’cause bodybuilding focuses on hypertrophy which is muscle development and powerlifting is all about strength training. I am loving strength training, though and glad I got into it finally.

I want to be really strong and want to be able to lift over 300 lbs. on all three deadlift, squats and bench. I’m already getting close to 300 on deadlift but still got ways to go on squats and bench.

I want to be great at upcoming powerlifting meets and want to be the best I can be so I’m preparing myself to be great. I’m hoping to do another powerlifting meet in the Spring and I think there’s a few of them I want to do in the Spring so during the off season through the Winter, I’m doing my best to prepare and practice. Powerlifting is an awesome sport and I’m glad I got into it.

Why I’m good at stirring controversial debates online… it’s because I tell the truth that’s why and people hate it…

Why is that every time there is a discussion happening online and when I decide to join in, everyone gets all mad and gets into a hissy fit? You see this is nothing new and this has been going on for years when it comes to the internet. This has been going no matter where I go on the internet. When I want to join in on a discuss or a debate, I give my opinion and view on something, people get all upset. For this reason, I spark a controversial debate. The debate gets heated and everyone is raging mad at me. They call me all kinds of names like an internet troll and treat me like I’m a bad guy simply ’cause I have different view than everyone else. All this is still going on even to this day.

No matter what topic I talk about with people, I always seem to be good at stirring controversy and getting people fired up. This problem is not just in politics either. It happens in every other topic I talk about like in music, wrestling, movies, weightlifting, health & fitness, etc. Whatever it is, I get people all fired up and get people going.

Some of you may ask, why do I do this? Why am I the way I am? Simply put, I just tell the truth. I just be honest and be as real as possible. If something is on my mind it’s gonna get said. When I join in on a debate or a discussion, I would seem to piss a lot of people off and the arguments would get heated. I think the reason people respond to my posts this way is not because they think I’m offensive and out of line ’cause I never believe I’m “offensive” and “out of line” even though some think I am. I’m allowed to have disagreements and have different views than everybody. I don’t have to fit in with the crowd. We live in a society where if you’re different than everyone, it makes you a bad person. If you’re different then you don’t belong in their clique ’cause this is how cliquey society has become lately.

Me being the way I am has gotten me banned from forums, people who I thought were once my friends walked out of my life because of it, fans and supporters have stopped supporting me and blah blah blah. You get the deal.

You see, people tried to change the way I behave online and in the past, I actually tried. No matter how positive I am and no matter how good of a person I am, people will always find a way to find me offensive of what I say. This is why I no longer give a shit about what people think of me anymore. The days of people pleasing are over. I’ve always had that “Be myself and don’t give a fuck” attitude for a long time now and it’s working. You should have that attitude too. Don’t change for anyone and be yourself. You don’t need anyone’s approval ’cause I certainly don’t.

The reason I stir things up and get people all fired up in debates is simply because they don’t like being wrong and they hate it. That’s why a lot of this happens when people get upset easily ’cause I just go in and tell them they’re wrong on certain topics. They don’t like being called out that they’re wrong… that’s why they respond angrily. I’m allowed to have different opinions and have disagreements with everybody but somehow society doesn’t allow me to.

People are really weird and whacked. That’s why you gotta ignore everyone and just be yourself, ya know? I prefer to be honest and real. I will continue to be honest and real no matter how many out there doesn’t like it.

I just believe that many out there don’t have what it takes to debate me. When you give up, you lose. End of story.

To get people going in discussion and get people fired up, you just have to be real and honest as much as possible. Never apologize for it either and never cave in. Stick to your guns always ’cause people hate that even more. That’s how you win debates ’cause people will say whatever they can to change your opinion to appease them. Never do that. Sticking to your guns and being honest is key to winning debates online.

Bench pressing with your butt off the bench… good idea? I say no, definitely not…

Today, I just started following USAPowerliftingNY instagram. I took a look at it and was a little curious about this one video you see above. A young lady doing bench press as you see in the video above. If you watch her doing bench, you can see that she’s doing it with her butt off the bench. There were instagram users in that post giving her compliments and positive feedback so then I decided to call her out on her awful bench press technique.

Her bench press technique is pretty bad. I said that in that post in the comments (which the comments in the post were deleted and thread is closed) and my comment sparked a huge debate. There were guys in there defending her and they were accusing me of trolling and stuff and I’m like WTF?

Isn’t the name of the game in powerlifting is critiquing a lifters form and technique? Yes, that’s the name of the game. That’s what powerlifting is all about is being realistic about your lift. I was in that thread in that video post saying that benching with your butt off the bench is bad and those guys in that post were acting like butt hurt crybabies. It’s just unreal.

I find it really strange that a powerlifting instagram would repost a benching video with the person’s butt coming off the bench and most powerlifting federations don’t accept that. Why do most and pretty much all powerlifting federations don’t accept the butt coming off the bench? Well, it’s cheating for the most part. The butt coming off the bench maybe able to let you lift more weight but it looks very risky also. You could end up injuring yourself or worse end up killing yourself if you keep benching like that. There could be an accident. If you keep benching like that, you could hurt your shoulders, have strained legs… even worse, you could end up having the fucking bar landing on your neck. I pointed all that out in that post and the next thing you know the sites administrator deleted all the posts and closed the comments.

Looks like I just won the argument and they couldn’t take it.

In the video above, here is that girl’s instagram. Watch her other benching videos on her instagram and you can see she has her butt off the bench on all of them. This is how she benches on a regular basis. This girl looks young too maybe between 15 – 20 years old or something like that.

https://www.instagram.com/q.ueen/

I was just concerned for her safety and that was all but unfortunately, that’s not okay in the powerlifting community.

People bench pressing with their butt off the bench is nothing new. I see it all the time in my local gym at the Battenkill Y. I see guys benching like that all the time. It’s ego lifting for sure and it makes you kinda douchey.

When you bench, your ass needs to be on the bench. Period. Any powerlifter that sees the butt coming off the bench as acceptable is not a real powerlifter. On top of that, benching with your butt coming off the bench doesn’t do anything to your pec muscles to begin with. That’s more of a decline bench and I believe you’re more working the shoulders and triceps and not the chest.

I thought it was pretty crazy that when I called this girl out on her form and those guys in that post defended her. That’s because she’s young and they tried to make it look like I was knocking her when I wasn’t. I was concerned for her safety is all and they thought I was trolling her. They were trying not to make a young girl feel bad and that’s what it was. If there was an older guy benching with his butt off the bench I’m pretty sure they would be ripping him to shreds. lol…

People with cell phones ruining the excitement of live concerts? I would say so yes…

This video blogger who goes by the name of Vic Dibitetto is an awesome guy and he’s entertaining as hell to watch too. I just love the way he rants. I know how a lot of vloggers love to rant on video but when you want to rant and be angry about something you have to act like it. This Vic Dibitetto does the best job at ranting on video and he’s not afraid to show how pissed off he is. Most vloggers who rant on video are always weak and not angry enough. I guess this is the reason this guy is going viral on the internet ’cause people find his angry ranting entertaining. I’ve only watched a few of his videos on facebook and he nails it every time, though. He’s right on everything he says and that’s another reason this guy is getting popular fast.

Anyhow, I agree with him that cell phones are a huge problem at live shows and music concerts. I haven’t been to a national concert in a long long time. Last time I went to a live concert was before cell phones became a problem. Nowadays, all you see at concerts are people sticking cell phones in the air instead of just enjoying the music.

In the past before the cell phone craze, people would stand at concerts, dancing and swaying their hands back and forth enjoying the music but now all you see are people with cell phones in the air. Really sad what the world is coming to. I don’t own a cell phone and I’m beginning to be glad I don’t even use a Smart phone or an Iphone. If I want to film something or take a picture of something for my Instagram/FB or whatever I use my Ipod or my Ipad.

This technology stuff is getting unreal for sure.
