McCain vote officially in!!!

I did it! Voted this morning before I went to work. Only had to work half a day today.

I forgot what party I was registered under, but when they showed me the paper where I had to sign my name, I saw that I was registered as a “republican”. Eh? No wonder I support McCain. I’m a registered republican. 🙂

Checking the votes Obama so far has 318 and he’s been staying like that for the past fews days, but McCain is catching up quick with a 196 votes.

We’ll see how they do later tonight, I’ll be keeping an eye on this election tonight.

Report: Fantasia sings for Jennifer Hudson at Funeral…

Over a 100 people showed up at the Hudson funeral in Chicago today. Jennifer kissed her mother goodbye before the funeral even started. Idol Season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino was there and sang “Your Grace and Mercy” directily to Jennifer Hudson as she sat and watched Fantasia sing (Jennifer was in Idol Season 3 along with Fantasia). Rev. Jesse Jackson and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley were both there at the funeral in person. The Hudson family will be buried at Oak Woods Cemetery on the South Side.

Man, I hope they find the killers fast. Jennifer’s life has been destroyed, this could put her careers to an end too. God bless the poor young woman. I wish the best for her and really hope they find the killers quick. Please Chicago police, DO this for Jennifer! DO THIS FOR HER!!!!

Thought: If Myles Kennedy is the singer of Led Zep, will Scott Stapp reunite with Creed?

If Myles Kennedy of Altered Bridge leaves the band for Led Zep… will Scott Stapp former frontman of Creed rejoin Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips?

Do you want to see a Creed reunion?

I’m not afraid to say that I would like to see Scott Stapp back with the original members of Creed. They maybe popular and mainstream for you, but you can’t deny that they wrote some great songs though. I liked the band Creed. Own all three of their albums and I have seen the band in concert twice. It’s a fact that Creed were one of the biggest selling rock bands in the 90’s and 00’s years but the band was shortlived with only three albums. The band had something good, but they blew it when the band broke up years ago.

I would like to see Creed back with a fourth studio album and a tour. The band’s first record “My Own Prison” is an amazing disc, I love it all the way through. “Human Clay” is also not a bad album. I’m game for Creed coming back, I’d love to see it happen.

They are not the best band in the world but I like their sound and their style of songwriting. Tremonti’s a good guitarist. I know there are not a lot of Creed fans out there but I think a Creed reunion would be successful. They could come back and become a best selling rock band again. Yes, they were kind of poppy and mainstream, I can agree with that, you also got to give them respect that they played their own instruments, wrote their own tunes and did everything themselves.

They were one of the very few hard rock bands that were successful back in their days. A Creed reunion would be cool. I’m all for it.

Film Review: Changeling

Starring: Angelina Jolie, John Malkovich

Directed by: Clint Eastwood

Just got back from a long day in Saratoga on my day off of work, went to the mall to see a movie and other things. Today I saw the movie “Changeling” the new film by Clint Eastwood. He didn’t star in it at all, he just directed the film.

Plot/synopsis: Story centers around a single mother named Christine Collins (Jolie) living in Los Angeles, it is the year 1928. She lives with her 9 year old son named Walter Collins. One day coming home from work, she is a supervisor for the phone operators, she discovers her son Walter is missing when she left him home alone. After looking for her son Walter all day long, she gives up and calls the police to report a missing child. Several months later, the LA PD tells Christine that they find her son alive and well. They set up a reunion at the Union Station (a train station) when Christine and her son reunites, she immediately realized that it wasn’t really him, it was a fake Walter impersonating her son. She tried to explain that the boy they found wasn’t really Walter Collins but no one would listen to her and thinks it’s really him, so the LA PD forced her to take the boy home.

When Christine took the fake Walter Collins home, she begins to investigate him trying to figure out why the boy is pretending to be Walter Collins. She was unsuccessful. When she tries to report this matter to the police once again to complain to LA PD that her son is still missing, the LA PD doesn’t buy what she says. They still believe what they found was her son and she still says it isn’t him. The LA PD immediately throws Christine Collins in the mental hospital. While her time in the mental hospital for women, she befriended another insane patient named Carol who also had experience being thrown in the hospital for the insane by starting trouble with the law.

While, Christine is stuck in the mental hospital, the LA PD arrested a boy at a home for illegal immigration. Det. Ybarra arrested the boy and took him to the police station for custody. The boy explains to Det. Ybarra for the immigration that he was forced to help kill 20  children with his cousin who is a child serial killer. The boy explains to the Det. that the killer named Gordon Northcott (his cousin). The boy confirms that Walter Collins, Christine’s son was one of those victims.

Does Christine ever find her son alive? Is he dead? You’ll have to watch the movie yourself to find out. That’s as far as I will go with the story ’cause there are some surprising twists and turns.

My thoughts on the film? As usual Clint Eastwood never dissapoints with his films. Angelina Jolie’s acting is amazing as usual. This movie is taking place in the 1920’s, so she isn’t supposed to be hot and sexy looking, that’s the way women used to look like back in those days.

I really enjoyed the story, the acting of the cast were good all around. Not too many big name stars in the film either. Only two big names in the film are Angelina and John Malkovich. Eastwood did a fine job keeping this film unpredictable, I sure didn’t know what was going to happen next. You never knew if Christine’s son is ever going to be found dead or alive.

Great job once again, Clint. I LOVED THE FILM! It’s not one of his best films ever made but “Changeling” was an excellent film though. Usually these kind of movies taken place in the 1920’s can be kind of boring but Clint didn’t make this movie boring. He kept you glued to the story and will get the viewers of this film talking. It is reccomended. Check it out if you like a good mystery type of film.

Score for “Changeling” = **** (4 stars as in excellent)

Report: “Two Lovers” is to be Joaquin Phoenix’s final film before he’s done with movies for good…

Oh my, 34 year old actor Joaquin Phoenix is really serious about quitting movies, he’s really doing it!!!!

His publicist confirmed that his final film will be “Two Lovers”. “Two Lovers” is a romantic drama film which Joaquin stars with Gwyneth Paltrow. After Joaquin’s finished promoting and marketing that movie, he’s done with acting for good and forever, just like that, he’s finished.

Joaquin became a musician while filming the Johnny Cash biopic “Walk the Line”. Before then, he never played guitar or sang, but he was given guitar lessons and learned to sing through a vocal coach for the film. Joaquin Phoenix is committed to starting a full time music career, making albums and going on world tours, all of it. Joaquin for those who don’t know is the younger brother of child star of the late River Phoenix.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117995132.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

I wonder what type of music Joaquin plans on getting into the music business.

Rock or country or a little bit of both? Who knows.

I’m sure we’ll hear more from Joaquin about his future music career of what he wants to do.

This totally sucks though, I don’t like how he’s turning his back on Hollywood. He’s a talented actor, I like him a lot. I think he’s probably getting sick of acting and music would give him more free time for himself.

Report: Jennifer Hudson did not yet go inside house where her family members were murdered…

Jennifer Hudson who just lost her mother, brother and nephew over a brutal murder has not yet went inside the house, the crime scene. She once visited the property by standing behind the gate looking out at the house but she was too emotional to go inside. Jennifer’s friends say that she is heartbroken and emotional of the deaths of course, but she is doing fine.

The funeral for Darnell Donnerson, Jason Hudson and Julian King is today in Chicago.

More on it here:

http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2008/11/03/2008-11-03_crime_scene_too_much_for_jennifer_hudson.html

I don’t think Jennifer would ever be able to make her way into the house at all. She’ll be heartbroken and sad for the rest of her life. She’ll be thinking about this for the rest of her life. I don’t see Jennifer going back to her music and acting career for a long while. She’s going to need some private space for herself. God bless her.

I wonder where Jennifer’s father is and if she’ll ever go to him. Hope they find the killers soon because they are still out there and on the run if the killer isn’t William Balfour ’cause he had help in the murders, never know the killers might plan on going after Jennifer or even Julia too so hopefully Chicago PD hunts the killers down fast before something does happen to Jennifer and Julia.

Almost done with “Metal Gear Solid 4″…

I’m almost done with Metal Gear Solid 4, I’ve been playing it most of the day yesterday on Sunday and now I’m just starting the last act, I’m on Act 5 “Old Sun” which is the final level of the game. I’ve just got to beat through that level and then I have to fight the final boss, the Big Boss. Then I am done.

The game is hands down amazing though. Incredible graphics, good acting by the voices of the characters and incredible story. The game is very long though and it has more cut scene storylines more than the action. The game is so much fun, it is challenging and difficult.

My favorite thing about the game is toward the end of Act 4, Solid Snake sleeps on a plane and goes into a dream sequence where you get to play the original “Metal Gear” game made in 1987 for MSX2 computer that was made back into those days. In the original “Metal Gear” 1987 game, the graphics aren’t so high tech of course but still fun.

After playing this game Metal Gear Solid 4, this really makes me want to buy a Playstation 2 so I can play the rest of the Metal Gear Solid games. A Playstation 2 would only cost $100 so I can get one easily. You can’t play Playstation 2 games on a 40 GB PS3, but you can play PS1 games on it though.

I hear there is a Metal Gear Solid live action movie in the works which is good. All I heard is that Kurt Wimmer is confirmed to direct the Metal Gear Solid live action film, that’s all. No casting has been made, but rumour has it, I’ve heard that Christian Bale will play Solid Snake doing google research. I can easily see Ian McKellen playing the main villain Liquid Ocelot. The Metal Gear Solid movies would be great if made right.

The Metal Gear video games has intense storytelling, lots of cool characters, and monsters, cool action and good fighting, they would make great live action movies.

What game will I play next after I beat this one? I’ll probably move on to “The Bourne Cospiracy” ’cause I’ve never played that one yet. I could move on to “Dead Space” next, but I want to try beating some of these other games I haven’t played yet first.

Report: Metallica wants Jason Newsted to share Rock Hall of Fame honor if band is inducted…

If the band Metallica is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, James Hetfield reveals that he wants to share the induction with Jason Newsted. Jason Newsted is a former bass player for the band who has played bass on the Metallica albums “And Justic For All”, “The Black Album” and “Load/Reload”. Jason Newsted joined the band after Cliff Burton’s death and Newsted became a prominent member of the band.

As the band were making plans to go back into the studio to record “St. Anger”, Newsted announced he quit the band due to private and personal reasons. Later in the movie “Some Kind of Monster”, Jason admits the real reason he left the band was for creative differences, Jason complained that he wanted to write his own material in Metallica but James and Lars were doing most of the writing, leaving Jason out of the songwriting process. So Jason left Metallica and formed his own band called Echobrain.

James Hetfield speaks out to Rollingstone saying that he will not have Dave Mustaine share the Metallica Hall of Fame induction because Dave didn’t play on any Metallica records but Jason Newsted did.

What a load of crock. The band Metallica should share the honor with Dave. Metallica and Dave Mustaine have been feuding for over 20 years to this very day.

They should just act like adults, bury the hatchet and get along, but of course, I don’t see that happening any time soon.
