RIP Alex Trebek: 1940 – 2020…

I usually don’t get into game shows on TV much over the years… used to watch game shows when I was young. Some of the game shows I used to watch were “Family Feud”, “The Price is Right” w/ Bob Barker as host, “Wheel of Fortune” and of course, there’s “Jeopardy”. Alex Trebek was one game show host that I had the most respect for, though. The guy is legend… one game show host who is iconic.

Alex been hosting “Jeopardy” for over 30 years, started in 1984, I think. Ever since then he remained “Jeopardy” host until he couldn’t do it anymore. He definitely did stayed as host until he died. Last year when he went on national TV and told the whole world he was sick with cancer, that was ballsy and it made me respect him even more. Usually famous people keep these things private but Alex was never afraid to be publicly open about this stuff. Even though he was sick with pancreatic cancer, he continued to host “Jeopardy” for a little while but they were tapings due to the pandemic.

He definitely loved hosting the show “Jeopardy”… it was his passion and you can clearly tell that it wasn’t just for the money for him. He definitely loved the supporters and viewers of “Jeopardy”, that was why he went on the show to talk about his cancer publicly ’cause he didn’t want to leave his viewers wondering.

I definitely watched “Jeopardy” a lot over the years. I’m sure we all did. Now that Alex is gone, I don’t see how the show is gonna survive without him, though. Show is probably gonna go on but I predict the ratings will go down and no one will watch… simply because Alex is irreplaceable, ya know? I think they should just cancel the show but they probably won’t.

2020 took another good one. RIP Alex and thanks.

Ac/dc… admittedly the Bon Scott Era is definitely 10 x’s way better than Brian johnson… that Era was definitely incredible stuff!!!

When it comes to the band Ac/Dc, I’ll have to admit it and agree with most everyone that the Bon Scott era of that band is definitely 10 x’s way better than Brian Johnson. On my Ipod Touch, I now own all 5 Bon Scott Ac/Dc albums… “High Voltage”, “Dirty Deeds”, “Let There Be Rock”, “Powerage” and “Highway To Hell”. All 5 are pretty amazing albums, they are all fucking mind blowing.

Back then, Ac/Dc had that energy and they were tight as hell back then. Bon was a great rock vocalist too. A lot lately I find myself listening to the Bon Ac/Dc albums more than the Brian Johnson era. Not sure why, maybe it’s cause Bon’s voice makes Ac/Dc songs sound better.

I can understand why people aren’t so crazy about the Brian Johnson stuff ’cause his era of Ac/Dc is a bit on the pop/rock side and most people aren’t into Brian’s scratchy singing much. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Brian Johnson era but I think the best Ac/Dc album with Brian on the lead vocals is believe it or not, “The Razor’s Edge”. That was the one Brian album that actually had the Bon Scott feeling if that makes sense. I can easily hear Bon singing the lead vocals to “Thunderstruck” and still would have sounded amazing either way.

I’ve been listening to the Bon Scott era albums on my Ipod at the gym a lot lately ’cause listening to Bon era Ac/Dc helps get me fired up on the weightlifting.

What is my favorite Bon era Ac/Dc album??? I love all 5 of them like I said but I would think “Powerage” is probably the best one, in my opinion. I listen to “Powerage” the most, honestly. It’s just a great and fucking badass album. Has some of Brian and Angus’s best guitar playing too. I can rock out to songs like “Rock n’ roll Damnation”, “Riff Raff” and “Sin City” all day.

I’ve always listened to Ac/Dc over the years, just mostly the Brian Johnson stuff. Now I’m getting into the Bon stuff finally which is way more addicting to listen to.

Powerlifting training is going well… feeling strong again…

So you’ve been away from the gym for several months due to the pandemic and once coming back, you may feel a little weak going in at first but after a while, you’ll get your strength back and I’m feeling that right now lately.

Powerlifting training is going well on the bench, squat and deadlift.

For bench, I’m trying to stick with 140 lbs. – 150 lbs. for low rep ranges in strength training. Build my numbers up that way.

For squat, I tried to lift a 135 lb. heavy single the last time but a missed lift… still stuck at 130 lb. as a single but I’ll get there soon.

For deadlift, my last deadlift session I had at the gym, I tried to pull a 300 lb. heavy single but a missed lift. I could only get the bar halfway up to my knees and felt I couldn’t do anymore so I gave up that lift. It’s not a bad thing though ’cause it lets me know that I’m close to getting to 300 lbs. again. I’ll keep working for it.

I try not to miss lifts like I’ve been saying but I seem to miss only 1 or 2 which isn’t a bad thing. At least I know where my numbers are at now.

I really want to bring my numbers up before the end of the year ’cause I want to do another powerlifting meet in 2021 ’cause powerlifting competitions are coming back.

I want to hopefully do my first USAPL meet. The USAPL is awesome ’cause that’s a federation where you can win actual gold and “real trophies” so that’s what I hope for one day. I’m still a USAPL member it looks like and haven’t done my first USAPL meet yet. I was going to but then the stupid pandemic happened.

So glad I got the squat form all taken care of. The squat lift may seem like a difficult and challenging lift but it can be easy once you practice it. I’m starting to get used to the barbell squat and liking it more and more.

Ever since I’ve been back in the gym out of the pandemic, I’ve been back hitting the gym 4 days a week nonstop. Feeling good to be lifting again. It’s what I’m supposed to do.

Went to a pro Trump rally in my hometown today, it was fun…

Yeah, I know I’ve been quiet on the blog a lot lately but that’s probably because the election is making my head spin and going fucking crazy. Ya, Biden didn’t win the election. It’s not over. The media can’t just announce the election winner, that’s not how it goes and you know it. I’ll speak on more thoughts about the election craziness another time but for now, here’s me at a small Trump rally in my hometown of Greenwich earlier this afternoon.

It was fun. I had fun doing the flag waving and cheering on the Trump supporters that drive by honking their horns in return… but of course, there were plenty of haters driving by giving us the middle finger/thumbs down but that’s okay. I’m okay with that as long as the haters don’t get out of their cars to start fights with us. This was meant to be a peaceful thing and it is.

In this little event, I met a few new friendly people today. Other Trump supporters are very friendly. I was talking to this one guy and this one lady, they are a couple I think and they both seemed really nice. We were of course, talking Trump, the election fraud and other political stuff. They were easier to talk politics than liberals anyways. That is one thing I love about the Trump supporting community ’cause we treat each other like family unlike lefties who are all about hate and division.

I’m glad I went to this and hope to do more Trump rallies and events like this ’cause people are doing stuff like this all over the country even though Trump is not there. We just want to show our support for Trump, ya know? That’s what it’s all about and it’s why we do what we do put on our own rallies, parades, flag waving events, etc.

Joe Biden didn’t win the election, though… don’t fall for it. I’ll talk more about that in another post.

Happy election day, y’all… Yes I voted this Morning…

Today’s an exciting day for sure and you know an easy Trump re-election is gonna happen tonight and I can’t wait.

I went into town this morning on the bike to vote at the polls at around 8-ish this morning and then I went to the gym for arm day. Yeah, it was cold and windy but I went anyways ’cause I wanted to get the voting done and get arm day at the gym out of the way.

After dinner this evening, I’m going to watch election coverage for the rest of the night… so no watching anything on streaming services tonight.

Yeah, voter fraud will still be a problem with a lot of states but we’re still gonna win big so you lefties reading this better be ready for tonight. Trump voter turnout is pretty massive this time.

Biden has no chance. Why would you want to vote for a guy who wants to raise your taxes? A guy that touches children in a creepy way and sniffs their hair and all that? Biden can’t even speak well at all either… can you imagine him doing a State of the Union address?

Tonight’s going to be a wild ride. I’m excited and ready. I’m not worried at all tonight. Pretty confident Biden is gonna lose big. I voted straight Republican today ’cause I will never vote Democrat again.

Tonight is gonna be awesome.

RIP: Sean Connery 1930 – 2020…

Yes, Sean Connery was mostly known as the original Bond… he played in 6 Bond films in his career. Some of you probably know by now that Sean Connery passed away yesterday on Halloween day. Predictably, when the news came of Sean’s passing… all people are going to be talking about is mostly his famous role as James Bond. He was the first actor to play Bond, the 007 movies.

Just to remind you all that Sean Connery is way more than just James Bond and most people don’t even know he starred in many other great films over the years. His other well known roles which people probably forgotten were Henry Jones Sr. in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”. Sean only played Henry Jones Sr. once but it was one of his best roles for sure and he was also famous for the role of Captain Ramius in “The Hunt For the Red October” in which he starred alongside Alec Baldwin as Jack Ryan. Sean had many other great roles too, though such as “Highlander I and II”, “The Rock” (an action movie that he starred with Nicolas Cage), “Rising Sun”, “Just Cause”, “Entrapment”, “The Untouchables”, etc.

Sean has done movies in pretty much every genre and he wasn’t afraid to star in violent action movies either. I grew up watching Sean Connery movies and every role he has done was enjoyable and entertaining as hell. Not once did he disappoint us with his acting. He killed it in everything he did really. Sean was acting since the 1950’s and retired in early 2000’s with his final film being “The League of the Extraordinary Gentleman”. He never did a live action film ever again after that.

Sean was a genius and he has always been one of my favorites. Loved him in the Highlander movies too which were underrated movies, in my opinion.

2020 took another good one. RIP Sean and thanks for the great films.

Here’s me smashing a 290 lb. deadlift heavy single today… it was easy, felt like I could do more…

I had a great deadlift session earlier this afternoon. Feeling strong on deadlift again. Easily smashed a 290 lb. heavy single. Felt so easy, I felt I could do more. Like the IG post says, I could probably smash a 300 lb. single and will give it a shot next week.

I could probably get past 300 lbs. for more reps very soon.

Trying to take technique and form very seriously and I just had a veteran powerlifter tell me in FB this lift was perfect.

Covid 19 didn’t take away my strength at all to be honest. In fact, it actually made me slightly stronger, lol….

Enjoy.

Jimmy Page reveals that Led Zeppelin were going to make a way more heavier and riffier rock album after “In Through The OutDoor”…

Jimmy Page has a new book coming out and to help promote it, he just did an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

Jimmy just revealed that Led Zeppelin WAS on the verge of making their 9th studio album before John Bonham died. They were going to make their follow up to “In Through the Outdoor” but after Bonham died, the band split up. Anyhow, Jimmy and John Bonham were in discussions at the time making plans of their next album after “In Through The Outdoor”. Jimmy revealed that Led Zeppelin were going to make an even heavier and riffier Led Zeppelin album. They wanted to make their next album a lot harder than “Presence”. They wanted the riffs to be a lot trickier.

With an album like “In Through the Outdoor” being a totally different album than the albums they did in the past, I guess they wanted to rock out loud again. “In Through the Outdoor” was kind of a mellow and soft album with all the keyboards and pianos and stuff. It was different.

Just imagine if John Bonham didn’t die and they made that heavy album Jimmy was talking about. It would have been cool to hear ’cause Led Zep is best when they are loud and heavy. Jimmy says the next album would have been a lot heavier but too bad it didn’t happen.

https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/jimmy_page_speaks_on_direction_he_wanted_to_take_led_zeppelin_in_before_john_bonhams_death__type_of_drumming_he_was_into.html?fbclid=IwAR1aOd76y-lQrSAHy_-RoyqJOWXjpGDBjT48lcShGlYU4VUfYQ4xV4inLXg

I can picture in my head of what that album would have sounded like… Jimmy banging away heavy riffs with distorted guitars with John banging on the drums, Robert’s usual screaming vocals and John Paul Jones trying to stay in the pocket with his bass and also adding some organ/keyboards like usual.

If John didn’t pass on, I’m sure Led Zep would have continued.

Will I one day be able to lift the big ones in powerlifting? Ya know, be able to bench over 300 lbs. and squat/deadlift over 500? Someday…

Yup, that is definitely my goal in powerlifting is to be able to one day bench over 300 lbs. and squat/deadlift over 500 lbs. It’s funny that some people criticizing my powerlifting in a negative direction. I’ve only gotten into powerlifting for a few years now… started in 2018… yeah, I discovered powerlifting pretty late in life. Been doing this powerlifting/strength training thing for 2 years now so I’m still learning and got a lot to learn.

I’m doing powerlifting training all self-taught pretty much. I do work with a few other powerlifting friends but they live all the way out in the Albany area and I only get coached by them at the meets… other than that, I’ve been teaching myself powerlifting. Although, admittingly, I would like to hire a coach or get a powerlifting partner ’cause it would be pretty useful. I just need to find a powerlifting coach/partner more locally, ya know? I’ll try.

I do my best to do good technique on the big three lifts: bench, squat and deadlift. Ever since I started powerlifting, I was never the best at squats but I’m getting better at squat form and technique now.

Yes, my goal someday is to lift the big ones like everyone else. Someday I would love to bench over 300 lbs. and squat/deadlift over 500 but it’ll take more time to get there. I was reading a book about powerlifting and it’s actually quicker to gain strength than building muscle and I’ve noticed that. Maybe in several more years or more I’ll get to those numbers that I want, maybe sooner than that…

…. anyway, I’m gonna take my time, stay humble and not rush. Not get ahead of myself. Train and smart and train good. Consistency really is key to getting the big numbers. No other way around it. Stay consistent, do every rep in good form and technique every time and you’ll get there before you know it.

It’s funny that some make fun of me at the low numbers but they feel heavy to me with my bodyweight being at 150 lbs. so that’s okay for someone just starting out in powerlifting.

People also tell me that I need to get big and fat, gain weight in order to get to the bigger weights. Um, no. I’m not gonna stuff my face with a lot of calories and not gonna get fat. I do wanna gain more weight but I want to do it right and safely. I want to gain muscle pounds, not “fat” pounds if you know what I mean. I just read a great book on Powerlifting by Dan Austin and Bryan Mann and even they say you don’t want to get fat. So with that being said, you still need to train and eat like a bodybuilder too. So I do both bodybuilding and powerlifting. I do bodybuilding to gain muscle growth and size, I do powerlifting to get strength.

A lot of people make the mistake that as a powerlifter, you can eat whatever you want and stuff your face with calories ’cause powerlifting responds to food. No. In my view, when you’re a powerlifter, you must be a clean eater and have proper nutrition like a bodybuilder. Continue to eat your proteins, complex carbs and healthy fats.

I want to one day be able to lift the big ones, lift a bar with all kinds of weight plates and load it up but I’m gonna take it slow, ya know? If you rush, it’ll lead to bad form and lots of injuries. Gotta train responsible and smart and that’s what I’m gonna try to do.

Things usually get crazy when it gets close to election day, everything will calm down sometime after…

Usually, when it starts to get close to every president election, things usually get real crazy… with the mainstream media and the left… conservatives get crazy too, no doubt… I’m not leaving them out. 7 days away ’til election day and things are getting crazy and whacky right now, it’s unreal.

Have you noticed that all talk of rioting/looting/protesting have quickly faded and now the news is all about Covid spikes? What happened to talk of George Floyd, BLM and Antifa? Seems that talk of race relations and all that have quickly disappeared… now the media is about covid-19 going sky high which is odd since the election day is 7 days away.

I’ve said from the beginning ever since the covid shit started back in March, it was all about the election and it was all political from the beginning. The lockdowns, social distancing, face masks and the slow reopening of the country… all power and control by the media and governors ’cause it gives them something to run on since they have nothing else.

On Nov. 4th when Trump wins the re-election, I’m predicting like most that you won’t hear about Covid ever again. Country will go back to normal. Facemasks, social distancing and small capacity crowds will all be gone. All businesses will fully reopen, live music will return, sports will return with crowds and everything will get back to normal sometime after the election. This covid thing was just an opportunity to help get Biden elected. The left and Dems are all blaming Trump for covid and the mess that it’s in so that’s a clue this whole thing was all political.

I’m getting stoked to vote on Nov. 3rd, though. I didn’t participate in early voting. I could have if I wanted to but I always vote on Nov. 3rd every four years on election day… always do and will do the same this year. Vote in person on Nov. 3rd. I’m going to vote straight Republican like always.

Getting stoked for Nov. 3rd and can’t wait to hit the voting booths to vote for Trump/Pence again.

Can the left and Dems ever pick a candidate who isn’t corrupt to the core? Like corrupt to the core from top to bottom. I know Hillary was corrupt to the core but Biden is way worse. Many on the left hate Biden too but you know they will vote for him anyway hoping to beat Trump. They will fail, though ’cause an easy re-election for Trump coming. It’s gonna be bigger than 2016.

This election is actually pretty exciting, really. Trump is definitely the best president we ever had. There is no reason to hate that man. If you hate that man so much then you’re brainwashed by the media and social media left-wing groups.
