Congressman Trey Gowdy who is the head of the Benghazi Select Committee just did the ice bucket challenge.
Trey had a pretty rough and overwhelming year in Congress so he deserves to have fun and do something positive for a change!
Go Trey!

How are local bands these days getting more successful and becoming more established??? In my opinion, it isn’t because of the songwriting. It isn’t because of how they promote themselves. It isn’t because of how hard they work. I think it’s none of that stuff.
I think that how some bands are getting big and huge these days is that they just write music that fits the mainstream. Ya know, pop music. All these bands have to do is become a party dance band whether you do originals or covers or both. Just be a party band. Just make music that people can dance to. A lot of local bands these days want to be a party dance band. Not naming names. All they want to do is play fast and upbeat dance music that people can dance to.
Why are bands obsessed with wanting to become a party band these days? It’s because this stuff draw crowds. When people go out for the night… they just want to go out to a bar or a venue to have a good time and dance all night. So people have chosen to support local bands so they can have live music to dance to whether it will be a cover band or an original band.
My question is, whatever happened to the real music around here? The art. Bands don’t always have to be obsessed with writing party music just to draw out large crowds. Bands shouldn’t be shy of writing ballads. You don’t always have to write fast and dancy music that people can get their dance on.
If you notice with my music… I never cared to write party music. I never cared to write music that people can sing along and clap their hands to. Never really been my thing. I never cared to write radio friendly songs for radio airplay either.
Don’t get me wrong… I would write fun songs that people can dance to but I wouldn’t obsess with it too much. You want to write songs with different tempos and a different feeling. You don’t always have to write upbeat music all the time.
When I get a band going, we’re not gonna be a party band. We’re gonna focus strictly on the art and write songs whatever comes out of us. Doesn’t matter whether it’s a slow song, moderately upbeat or a fast song. Like I said before, tempos of songs needs to vary. Don’t be afraid to go different directions.
I think bands wanting to become party bands and pop bands are a bunch of posers and they are just desperate for popularity and fame. I like bands that focus on the art and the songwriting. You don’t need to write music that fits the mainstream. Do you really want to be looked at as a pop band? I certainly don’t.

Charlie Sheen just did the best ice bucket of them all, in my opinion. When most celebrities and famous people do their ice buckets, they usually challenge their friends, family members and colleagues.
Charlie decides to do something a little different and challenge his enemies.
I think Charlie’s clear message here is that instead of dumping ice water over your head, just donate money. That’s why he dumped money on his head instead of ice water.
Charlie rules!!! \m/

One of our important generals… Gen. Harold Greene has been shot and killed by an Afghan soldier. The pic above was his funeral. Was Obama there? No. Where was he? Yep, you betcha, he was out golfing at Martha’s Vineyard.
Just today, Obama took a tiny break from vacation to come over to the White House to respond to the riots in Ferguson and the things going on with Isis. I think Obama did a press conference today and sure enough, went off back to Martha’s Vineyard right after.
Everybody’s so hurt and offended at racism against blacks… but what about racism against whites? How is it not racist that Obama keeps ignoring Harold Greene? Obama didn’t even acknowledge his death at all. No response from Obama. That’s what Obama did to sniper Chris Kyle. Obama completely ignored him too.
Unless a US soldier is black or Muslim, Obama would show support but when a white soldier dies, Obama doesn’t care. When an important general like Harold Greene dies, the president needs to be there to show compassion and condolences but Obama didn’t do any of that. Instead of cancelling the rest of Obama’s vacation to show support for Harold Greene, Obama continues to golf while the funeral was going on. That is not what a real president would do. If Bill Clinton or George W. Bush was still president, they would have been at the Gen. Greene’s funeral.
If you think what I explained above isn’t worthy of hatred against Obama, then I don’t wanna talk to you anymore. I would completely ignore you and I’m pretty serious about this too. He really is a piece of garbage, self centered, egomaniac. Obama is the real racist here. He hates white people and him ignoring Gen. Greene is proof of that. If you can’t see that, then you need to get your head out of your ass and wake up.
Usually when Obama stays silent on a US soldiers death, I absolutely think he had something to do with it.

Check out Hugh Jackman’s unique ice bucket challenge. The entire cast and crew of the new Peter Pan movie simply titled, “Pan”, in which Hugh plays Black Beard all do the ice bucket together and guess who they just challenged?
Tom Cruise and the entire crew of MI: 5 and JJ Abrams “Star Wars 7”.
I would like to see JJ and the Star Wars crew do it. Maybe they would get the droids R2 and C3PO to join them.

Mike Brown supporters were making claims that he surrendered to cops but that’s not what it’s looking like to me… check out this link…
As you’ve seen in the video in the link above… the witness was saying that Mike Brown ran toward the cop after Mike attacked him. Who ever this witness is should testify in trial.
Everybody wants to look at the officer who shot and killed Mike Brown out of cold blood but the officer should be looked at as a hero… not a monster. Like I said before, the officer was just doing his job. Protecting himself and others in the neighborhood.
If a black person threatened my life, I’d do the same thing. I’d do the same thing to anybody who threatens my life… doesn’t matter the skin color.
All those people in Ferguson protesting and rioting are just wasting their time and solving nothing.

Here’s another pretty good ice bucket… Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam. Eddie’s speech is pretty funny if you can understand what he’s saying, lol. He seems like a cool dude, though!
Eddie challenges Bruce Springsteen, the Boss. I hope Springsteen does it. Will Bruce do it? We’ll have to wait and see on that one too.

Here is Weird Al’s ice bucket…
Yeah, I know the Kennedy’s already challenged Obama but Obama chickened out and sent in a donation instead. Everybody wants to see Obama do it. As much I hate Obama… I’d have to say admittedly that I would like to see Obama’s ice bucket challenge. I’m curious to see Obama’s reaction when he gets a bucket of ice water dumped on him.
Why won’t Obama do it? Is he afraid of ice cold water? No. I don’t think he is. I think the reason he wouldn’t do it ’cause he’s too important for that. He already humiliated himself with Michelle’s running video and he humiliated himself again with that exercise video that got leaked to the web. I think he just doesn’t want to humiliate himself again over the ice bucket thing.
I can see the left and right’s reaction if they see Obama do the ice bucket challenge. The left will give him the kudos for it, the right will just make fun of him.
Who knows… maybe Obama will change his mind and might do it? We’ll have to wait and see.

Don’t get me wrong… I love Motley Crue. I think they are one of the baddest metal bands on the planet. They’re a great band but I don’t get their over hype of their so called retirement or break-up or whatever. I’ve never seen legendary bands do this before. When bands call it quit, they would either go out quietly or just announce their break up and not doing anything else after that. Why does Motley Crue have to shove their retirement in our faces?
Usually when artists do that… like farewell tours or whatever… they usually make huge comebacks in the future like Garth Brooks just did. Remember Garth’s last big farewell tour? KISS have done it too. Phish have also done it.
If a band is gonna quit. Then just fuckin’ quit. It’s an easy thing to do. You don’t have to go on lengthy farewell tours and promote it to death. When famous bands do farewell tours and they promote it heavily… all it is it’s just ego-stroking… ya know, jerking themselves off. That’s what it is, in my opinion. They are desperate for attention and desperate to get respected more. A lot of ass-kissing.
I like Motley Crue but I’m not gonna lie, they are a bunch of egomaniacs for sure. That can’t be denied.
How much do you wanna bet that the Crue will come back in a few years or so? They take a few years break and then they promote their next BIG comeback. With that being said, I don’t buy it at all that this band is done. They’ll be back… they’ll always come back.

Sylvester himself appeared on Jimmy Fallon earlier this week to promote “Expendables 3” and Sly went into some details about his longtime feud with Arnold over the years. Sly blames his 90’s career slump on Arnold. Sly claims that if he didn’t sign on to movies like, “Stop or My Mom or Shoot” or “Rhinestone”, Arnold would get in on those movies.
http://www.torontosun.com/2014/08/17/sylvester-stallone-blames-arnold-schwarzenegger-for-movie-flops
Honestly, I think Sly is full of it. Those are just excuses.
I think Sly’s career was starting to fail in the 90’s ’cause Sly was horrible at choosing scripts. It’s not Sly’s fault, though. Sometimes when an actor chooses a script and he likes it, you can never tell whether the film is gonna be a hit or not.
Sly is a star again these days ’cause he’s obviously being more careful at choosing scripts and his projects. He’s learning from his past mistakes.
“Rocky 6” and “Rambo 4” weren’t Sly’s big comebacks. Sly’s big comeback film was “Spy Kids 3D”, lol… and that film was a box office smash obviously.
I thought it was unfair and wrong for him to blame Arnold.
I mean, Sly has turned down some of the biggest movies ever like The Terminator, Die Hard, Romancing The Stone, Pretty Woman, 48 Hours, Beverly Hills Cop, Face/Off, Star Wars, Superman: The Movie, etc. It’s true…. Sly was asked to star the lead in all of those movies and he even auditioned for some of them but he ended up saying no. Yes, he said no to starring in Superman and Star Wars when he auditioned for them.
On Jimmy Fallon earlier this week, Sly explained his audition for Star Wars when he was trying out for the Han Solo role and it was funny. It’s true that George Lucas considered Sly for the role. Look this stuff up.
Instead of going for all those movies I listed above Sly ends up going for movies like “Judge Dredd”, “The Specialist”, “Assassins”, “Driven”, “Get Carter”, “Daylight”, “Oscar”, etc. All box office failures.
Sly is just lousy at choosing movies… that is all. You can see that the man will never admit it so he goes out of his way and blames Arnold.
Arnold was obviously a way more successful actor than Sly. Most of Arnold’s movies were box office hits ’cause why? Arnold is better at choosing his scripts, he knows what he’s doing. Of course, Arnold had some box office failures too but not as much as Sly did.
I’m glad Arnold and Sly finally buried the hatchet. Hopefully it stays that way so they can star in more movies together. They did 4 films together so far. The three Expendables movies and “Escape Plan”. I think they’ll collaborate on more movies together outside of the Expendables films.
