Superman news slowed down, I wonder why???

There haven’t been any new “Superman” castings for the past several weeks. The last thing we heard was that German actress, Antje Traue has been signed to play some un-named female villain for Zack Snyder’s “Superman” and that news was announced a couple of months ago.

Superman still need to cast the following characters: Lex Luthor, Jor-El, Lara (Superman’s mother on planet Krypton), Lana Lang, Jimmy Olsen, and Perry White.

We also still need to see what the story is going to be about and what the Superman costume is going to look like. In the beginning, they were picking up on things quickly, but now Superman news suddenly died.

I’m sure Superman news will start picking back up again soon. Hopefully not too long. What will the Superman costume look like? It will obviously be red, yellow and blue like always but the suit will definitely have a new design and different style. Hopefully the costume will be different than the Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh costumes.

The movie still needs to open with the John Williams theme. It’s not a Superman movie without it. I think Chris and Zack will use the theme song, I’m sure they know it’s important for the character.

The Top 10 Best War Films of all time…

In celebration of Memorial Day in the world of Hollywood, what are my favorite war films of all times? I’ll name ten of them at the top of my head…

  • The Last of the Mohicans – An excellent war film taken place during the French and Indian War. An amazing film directed by Michael Mann, starring Daniel Day Lewis. I’ll never get tired of watching this film ever.
  • Apocalypse Now – Another one of my favorite films of all times. Martin Sheen in his younger years, plus, a great performance by Marlon Brando.
  • Inglourious Basterds – Quentin Tarantino’s whacky version of WWII and Hitler. Love it!
  • Schindler’s List – I like this movie more than “Saving Private Ryan”. I loved Ralph Fiennes in this role too.
  • Black Hawk Down – This Ridley Scott directed war film is so great for a lot of reasons. Love this movie.
  • The Hurt Locker – Great film by Kathryn Bigelow that scored her an Oscar award which is well deserved.
  • M*A*S*H – The movie directed by Robert Altman and stars Donald Sutherland. This is the movie that started the legendary sitcom. I’ve always loved the movie more than the TV show.
  • Rambo: First Blood Part II – The only Rambo film that can actually be considered a war film. This is the best Rambo movie, in my opinion.
  • Glory – Starring Matthew Broderick and Morgan Freeman, another one of my favorite war films.
  • Platoon – Back when Charlie Sheen was great.

I know there’s a bunch more, but these are my favorites.

Cool Video: Lisbeth Salander is coming to the USA, bitches!

David Fincher’s redband teaser for “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” leaks on the internet a week early. The film looks amazing and I’m already very excited for the film. David Fincher is a phenomenal film maker, I love the guy’s work. I’m sure this film will be great. The Lisbeth Salander character deserves to get known in the US.

Trent Reznor covered Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” with Karen O (singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) on the lead vocals.

This is a well made trailer. A perfect way to get everyone pumped up for the film. Can’t wait! The HD version of this trailer should hit online next week.

Netflix Pick (DVD): Faster

Last night, I finally saw the movie “Faster”, a Netflix DVD rental starring Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton. The story tells of a man who was a former con-man who is out to avenge the murder of his brother, after he was double-crossed by other men he worked with during a bank robbery years back and now he plans on killing them all. Dwayne Johnson plays an un-named Driver, in which he drives a classic car that is pretty powerful and drives fast.

I thought this was Dwayne Johnson’s best action flick. I know Dwayne tries to do other genres like family films, comedy and drama flicks, but to be honest, I think action movies is where Dwayne belongs in. He’s more successful in the action genre, I think we all know that. The writing and the plot was actually pretty good. It’s a good revenge story. Good casting too. I like Billy Bob Thornton in the movie. Maggie Grace the former “Lost” star played the killer’s girlfriend in the film. Mike Epps just ruled.

The violence in this movie is brutal and can get graphic too. Dwayne played a lot of tough guys in his action flicks over the years, but I think this is his best tough guy role. Dwayne doesn’t talk much in this movie, “Faster”. He just goes around and does his job, killing the people responsible for the murder of his brother. There are some twist and turns in the writing, so the movie was unpredictable. It did a good job trying to make you think whether or not Dwayne’s character, the Driver, was good or evil.

I love Dwayne, the action star, and he needs to keep doing action movies. I haven’t seen “Fast Five” yet, but I’ll wait on DVD on that one. I really hope Dwayne gets casted for the “Expendables” sequel because Dwayne and Sly Stallone would be a great team up. I can see Dwayne playing a good villain in “The Expendables” sequel where Sly and the Rock have a major fight scene. So come on Sly, get the Rock for the next “Expendables” movie.

I thought “Faster” was the best action movie that came out this year. Do yourself a favor and check it out soon.

With “American Reunion” coming out soon, this inspired me to do a list of my favorite comedy films of all times. I need to have a good laugh once in a while.

I’ll name 15 of my favorites at the top of my head, in no particular order. Enjoy the list, all.

  • Monty Python & The Holy Grail – The best Terry Gilliam flick ever! This film is a classic, especially the hilarious killer bunny scene.
  • U.H.F. – This “Weird” Al Yankovic comedy is one of my favorites of all time. It wasn’t very big & successful but I thought it was one of the great comedies in the 80’s. Slapstick done the right way. I love this movie.
  • Ernest Goes to Jail – This is the best Ernest P. Worrell movie. I love all Ernest films but this one is my favorite. I own it on DVD too.
  • Pee Wee’s Big Adventure – I know you are but what am I?
  • Analyze This/That – I love both the Analyze movies, with Robert Deniro and Billy Crystal.
  • The Money Pit – This is Tom Hanks best comedy in the 80’s. I’ve always loved this flick.
  • The Burb’s –  Another great Tom Hanks classic.
  • Anger Management – This is my favorite Adam Sandler movie, him and Jack Nicholson playing together is fantastic.
  • School of Rock – This film makes me smile every time I watch it. My favorite Jack Black movie.
  • Groundhog Day – My favorite Bill Murray comedy. Another movie I’ll never get tired of watching.
  • Superbad – This was the only Michael Cera movie that I liked. A very enjoyable film with lots of laughs.
  • The Police Academy – The Police Academy series are great but I’ve always loved the first one more.
  • Spies Like Us – An excellent classic starring Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase. I grew up on this film.

There are plenty of more comedies I enjoy, but the ones I listed above are my absolute favorites.

BREAKING NEWS: Shannon Elizabeth set to reprise role as Nadia for “American Reunion”…

Now you can call this an official, “American Pie” reunion because the whole gang is confirmed to return! Just announced today, Shannon Elizabeth is on board to reprising her role as Nadia for “American Reunion”.

The first movie made her famous because of her nude scene in the film. I’m pretty sure she’ll have another nude scene for the new, “American Reunion”, film too.

Deadline, reports.

I really loved the first, “American Pie” movie, but I didn’t like the sequels though. The first one was actually a great film.

While I mostly watch action, horror and drama films…I like to watch a comedy once in a blue moon. Watching a funny comedy can really brighten up your mood.

Maybe I’ll write up a list of some of my favorite comedy films of all times.

Report: David Fincher’s “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, first trailer will arrive online June 2nd, next week…

Deadline reveals today that the US version of the “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, first trailer will debut overseas first. Then the trailer will hit online June 2nd for all of us to see, then the trailer will be in movie theaters next weekend.

More on it, here.

I still stand by it that I didn’t like the Swedish version of “The Girl With Dragon Tattoo”. Noomi Rapace made a great Lisbeth Salander but the movie was pure shit.

I hope Fincher’s version is a better film and can’t wait to see the first trailer.

Thought: I really think Sly Stallone should star in Kathryn Bigelow’s “Osama Bin Laden” movie…

I doubt Sly would get the opportunity but I think it’s a nice thought. I think Sly would make a pretty good Seal Team 6 leader. That’s my choice of who I’d like to star in that Bin Laden movie. Outside of Rambo, I don’t think Sly has ever starred in other war films before. It’s been long rumored that the next Rambo movie could have been Rambo hunting down Bin Laden but it never happened. Sly shot that plot down long while back, now Rambo is never gonna happen because Sly retired the character. It’s still possible that Sly could star in a Bin Laden movie, just not as Rambo.

I’ve always wanted to see Sly in a serious war film and this would be perfect for him. So if Kathryn is reading this somehow, just my suggestion that Sly should star. I’m sure Kathryn’s Bin Laden movie is going to be extremely violent and gory, hopefully. This would be good for Sly.

Sony will probably have a big name star play the leading role for Seal Team 6, when they start casting. Arnold would be good for this movie too but he’s in trouble with his personal life so he won’t come back to movies anytime soon now.

Sly’s last movie “The Expendables” is kind of a war film actually.
