Thought: How Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” is inspiring for adult men…

Yes, the “Twilight” series were mainly aimed toward the younger audiences, but notice that more and more adult men are starting to read the books, and seeing the movies. I am noticing that most men are slamming these series because of its teen content and soap opera like romance. Not giving anymore detail than that on why they think the series suck so bad. I am also noticing that most of these men haven’t even read the books or seen the movies. I think it’s because they want to fit in with the other haters to bash everything that goes mainstream.

What would make men get interested in reading the books or see the movies in the first place? I think simply because they are curious. They want to get into “Twilight”, to get an idea of why teens love ’em so much. Just like me, they are fans of vampire stories and they want to see Stephenie Meyer’s take on them. I’m pretty sure men get a little embarrassed at first, that they feel like a fool getting into teen “Twilight”, but once they read the books or see the movies, they’ll find them not so bad after all and actually enjoying it.

I have also read plenty of reviews of “Twilight: New Moon”, mostly men slamming the movie and giving the film negative reviews. Most of them say that the new film is a teen’s dream, something that kids would want, but some men still hate it.

You see, fellas, it doesn’t matter if you like or hate the series, either way. As long as Stephenie Meyer got all the men talking about these series, she is successful for that reason.

It might feel a little weird to go in a movie to see a bunch of shirtless muscle men in one movie, but you gotta admit it, that these guys have great bodybuilding physiques. It’s not gonna make you feel gay for getting into “Twilight”. It will make you feel like a “man”.

Stephenie is a great, unique storyteller. She knows how to grab people’s attention, either good or bad. As long as people are talking about these series, Hollywood will bring us more.

Men enjoy soap operas and campy romance, that’s why they enjoy these “Twilight” stories. They simply want to know what it will be like to be in the teen world. Men are also hypocrites when it comes to bashing “Twilight”, because of its teen content and romance.

They really shouldn’t be bashing these series, when most men are into silly comic book superhero flicks that are aimed at kids, a lot of men are into Pixar films that are aimed for children, and a lot of ’em are into Disney flicks as well. So if you’re going to bash “Twilight” you gotta stop and think about some of the other kiddie things that you enjoy. Men are even into Spongebob and Pokemon. Not to mention, Star Wars as well.

“Twilight” is the Star Wars for teens. Give the teens respect for this ’cause they deserve this entertainment. I’m looking forward to seeing “New Moon”, will hopefully see it soon, hopefully this weekend.

Report: Dustin Hoffman WILL NOT appear in “Little Fockers”, he is a bit greedy and egostitical…

Dustin Hoffman will NOT appear in “Little Fockers”, the third installment to the “Meet the Parents” series. The reason? He wants to be in the movie longer, but the studio only scripted him as a small cameo at the end of the movie, Dustin wasn’t happy about that. He also wasn’t happy with the scheduling and wanted to be payed more.

Barbara Streisand is still appearing and she’s still on for her role.

Entertainment Weekly reports:

http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2009/11/19/dustin-hoffman-little-fockers/

Come on, Dustin, stop being a whiner!!! Where’s your professionalism? Of course, legendary actors like Dustin Hoffman’s ego will get in the way, that they think they are worth millions for films. He probably think he is bigger than Barbara Streisand.

At least, she’s still being a professional and accepting her cameo without whining. Dustin is just being a whiner, that is all. Gotta love greedy rich people!

Report: Stephen King and Steven Spielberg to work together again, they will bring us, “Under the Dome” to the small screen!!!

Steven Spielberg and Stephen King, once worked together to bring us, “The Talisman” into a TV min-series, but the project was dropped due to budget costs. King and Dreamworks just greenlighted the rights for, “Under the Dome” to be made into a TV mini-series. “Under the Dome” is a brand new novel by Stephen King that was just released.

Variety Reports:

Now that JJ Abrams is no longer doing, “The Dark Tower” series into a movie, somehow I get this feeling, that Spielberg might take over.

It’s great to see King and Spielberg working together after all these years. Hopefully they’ll get something on the big screen too, and it should be, “The Dark Tower”. I think Spielberg would make a great, “Dark Tower” movie too.

Who knew that Brad Pitt is into video games? It seems that he is a big time video gamer, if he knows about “Dark Void”. I’m sure he plays video games with his kids, at least. Sounds like an interesting flick.

Report: Tim Burton to direct “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn”? I’d say bring him on!

It seems that Tim Burton loves the idea of directing the final Twilight movie, “Breaking Dawn”, the fourth of the series. Burton didn’t say if he will or not, but he seemed to love the idea and he is flattered by it.

See more at MTV News:

I always thought Burton would be a more appropriate choice of a director for these movies. He should have directed the first one. In fact, he should be directing all of them!!! Why didn’t Summitt Entertainment think of him in the first place? I hope Burton gets the opportunity.

I look forward to seeing, “New Moon” and will see it, this weekend.

Thought: 82nd Annual Oscars 2010, will that be James Cameron’s year???

For the 82nd Annual Oscar Awards in 2010, we all know there will be 10 films nominated instead of the usual 5 this year. I know it’s too early to predict what the nominations will be for the 10 films. I don’t know what films will get nominated but we all know that Jimmy Cameron’s “Avatar” and Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” will make it in.

Who knows, maybe even Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” will get a nomination for “Best Picture” as well.

I have this feeling that this will be another year for Jimmy Cameron at the Oscars, again. “Avatar” will sweep everything at the Oscars.

I know a lot of people are hoping Tarantino will get his first shot at winning an Oscar but don’t get too excited yet. Jimmy Cameron is back on the big screen, so he’ll overshadow everything at the Oscars.

Don’t get me wrong, I think “Avatar” looks like a wonderful film, I’m dying to see it myself and can’t wait for it, but I don’t want Jimmy Cameron to win big again.

It is time to pass the torch to Tarantino, he deserves his chance, he’ll get nominated for sure, but it’s unlikely he’ll win. 😦

If you’re wondering, I will not be seeing “2012” in theater…

If you’re wondering if I’m going to see the new “2012” movie that stars John Cusack, in theaters now, NO… I’m not going to see it. Simply because the movie looks lame and stupid. I am also not a fan of John Cusack. Do not care for his acting. “2012” looks like a silly popcorn flick full of CGI, the film will give me a headache.

I do plan to go to the movies again soon but it won’t be “2012”.

I’ll probably go check out, “The Men Who Stare At Goats” ’cause that movie looks funny. I’m also looking forward to seeing, “New Moon” as well.

“2012” and “Paranormal Activity” are two big movies I refuse to see this year.

Report: Steven Tyler showed up at Joe Perry solo gig uninvited…

On that video where Steven Tyler showed up at the end of Joe Perry’s solo gig, do you think that was planned? Did Joe Perry himself invite Steven to the stage? Nope. Think again.

Perry never invited him to the show. He just came. Steven definitely was drunk or something ’cause he was acting weird in that video. I think his ego got in the way that he wanted to take over Joe Perry’s set….but, Joe Perry didn’t seem to mind. In this article, Joe said he let Steven sing, just to be nice.

Even though Steven says he’s not leaving Aerosmith, things haven’t changed with Joe Perry’s feelings on him. Joe is still upset with him.

Report: Dolph Lundgren in talks to have some type of role in “Conan”, whether it’ll be a cameo, supporting role or the lead…

Like I said, Dolph being in Stallone’s, “The Expendables” will give him a lot of opportunities, and it’s already happening for Dolph. Dolph announced that he is in talks with the producers of Conan, saying that he may get some type of role. He refuses to say which role he will be getting. Whether it will be a tiny cameo, or a supporting role, or even the lead. Dolph can even get signed on as Conan, the main character himself. It’s too early to say.

Dolph wouldn’t be a bad Conan, but I think this movie is aimed for a younger Conan. I’d say make Dolph as the main villain in the new “Conan”.

I’m happy for Dolph that his career is already getting good. After “The Expendables” is released, his straight to DVD nightmare will finally be over for him. It’s going to be great to see Dolph back on the big screen and not on the small screen. 🙂
