Report: Erykah Badu, fined for $500, gets 6 months probation for going nude in public for video…

Erykah Badu was fined for $500 and got slapped with 6 months probation for going naked in public in Dallas, Texas for filming a music video for her song, “Window Seat”. Guess, the naked woman in the video really was her after all.

She probably knew she would get in trouble for it, but whatever it takes to give what the video needs, she’s willing to risk the law for it. $500 and 6 month probation would be no big deal for her. I’m sure she’s a rich woman, she would think $500 is cheap and she could get the 6 month probation behind her easily. In reality, she doesn’t care about getting busted for this. I’m sure she’ll do it again, if the video calls for it.

Thought: Don’t be so quick to assume Fantasia tried to kill herself over a married man, wow!!!

So former “American Idol” star, Fantasia Barrino, attempted to kill herself with Aspirin and Sleep Aid. Reports claim that it could be because she was overwhelmed and depressed that she had an affair with a married man. Really? Do you have to be this quick to jump to conclusions? Maybe it was more than just that. Read her past, do research on what her life was like before her fame.

She dropped out of high school because she was raped by a class mate. She got pregnant at the young age of 16, and lots of other bad things happened to her life over the years growing up. Maybe she felt depressed because the rape back in school, came back to her. Maybe she was real stressed out in life. Don’t assume it’s because of this silly sex tape that got all over the internet. I’m sure it was something more personal than that.

The world of gossip news just suck.

Thought: What’s next for Soundgarden???

So, Soundgarden, played Lollapalooza 2010 over the weekend. They just played their usual greatest hits on that gig. Most band reunion’s are silly but Soundgarden is the only band reunion that is worth happening. Why? Because, the world felt Soundgarden ended their career so quick, they ended their career so early. Soundgarden fans felt like the band could have gone on longer which is the sudden breakup for the band. It was too early for the band to call it quits in the early 90’s after their ’96 album “Down on the Upside” their last studio record.

All we can do is hope and pray for a new Soundgarden album in the future and a full time World tour. That’s the point with these few new Soundgarden gigs. They were a test to see if they still had their popularity and to see if they still have that “energy”. Well, we all know that Soundgarden still HAS IT! While the band didn’t yet announce a new album and new tour, it could be a possibility that it might happen. Their Lollapalooza gig was a hit. So I don’t see why it wouldn’t happen.

The last few Soundgarden gigs, it definitely looked like they were very happy to be back and having fun again. So I think they WILL stay around longer. The band soon to be releasing, “Telephantasm” is a little hint of that. I’m sure the band is discussing a full time return so we’ll have to wait and see. I don’t care about other band reunions, but Soundgarden deserves to stick around for a lot of reasons.

Report: Reese Witherspoon to play music legend, Peggy Lee!!!!

Oscar winner, Reese Witherspoon is set to play jazz legend Peggy Lee, for a biopic film. Reese played June Carter for the “Walk the Line” Johnny Cash biopic, and now Reese gets her chance to star the leading role in a biopic film.

I don’t know much about Peggy Lee, but this is an interesting role for Reese. This also sounds like another Oscar nomination for Reese. Reese is the perfect choice to play Peggy ’cause they both look almost exactly alike!

Report: Beach Boys vs. Katy Perry over “California Gurls” song???

Rumors have hit the internets that the Beach Boys could be suing Katy Perry over the “California Gurls” song. She’s not being accused of stealing the song from the Beach Boys, she’s being accused of what Snoop Dogg said in the song. Snoop Dogg said, “I really wish you all could be California Girls” which I believe is a lyric taken from the Beach Boys hit.

The Beach Boys camp replied back, saying they are not suing Katy Perry, the band says they love Katy’s song and they are flattered that she used the Beach Boys as an inspiration. Katy also claims no one is suing anyone.

More on it here:

http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music/2010/08/05/2010-08-05_beach_boys_not_suing_katy_perry_over_california_gurls_but_company_owning_song_ri.html

Listen to both songs and hear what the Beach Boys and Snoop Dogg says.

Snoop says, “I really wish you all could be California Girls”, but the Beach Boys version says, “I wish they all could be California Girls”. In order for something to be considered copyright infrigement, both needs to be exactly the same. Katy is innocent.

And by the way, Katy’s “California Gurls” is actually not a bad song, I actually kind of dig it myself.

Report: Jerry Garcia estate says they will not include Grateful Dead or solo music for Garcia biopic film…

The Jerry Garcia Estate sadly announced the news that they will not be involved with the Amir Bar-Lev “Jerry Garcia” biopic that the film director is planning to direct. The Garcia estate refuses to license Grateful Dead or Jerry Garcia solo music for the film.

Read the Garcia Estate’s statement here:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118022604.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

While it is sad news, the film can still go on without Grateful Dead or Garcia’s music. Maybe Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Phil Lesh can somehow be involved with the music but make new original music for the film instead? That will probably end up happening.

Thought: If Steven Tyler joins American Idol, then Aerosmith is officially dead to me…

So Steven Tyler is in negotiations with FOX to join as an American Idol to judge to take over for Simon Cowell or Ellen Degeneres. It seems that Steven wants it badly. Why did I put the title in the blog post that if Steven Tyler joins, Aerosmith is dead to me? Well it’s true. Aerosmith will destroy their career just like how Ozzy destroyed his by doing “The Osbournes” TV show. If Steven joins American Idol, no one will ever see Aerosmith as a rock n’ roll band anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Aerosmith, always had, but if Steven joins American Idol, the band will no longer get my support. They might upset their longtime die hard fans as well. American Idol is a huge mistake for Aerosmith. I wish Joe Perry would talk him out of it, but it’s pretty clear Steven craves for publicity.

If Steven joins, Aerosmith will become the American Idol band instead of a rock n’ roll band. That’s what happened to Chris Cornell when he started doing this American Idol thing.

The mainstream of music is a disaster. There hasn’t been much good music in the mainstream except Slash put out one of the best solo records in a long time. Slash’s new record is fucking great. I hope Slash will never be part of American Idol ’cause that would destroy his image and career as well.

Report: Justin Bieber biopic on it’s way to the big screen, might be directed by Davis Guggenheim?

When the Twilight series is all over and done with, Hollywood is still doing whatever it takes to keep all the tweens entertained. Paramount Pictures has greenlighted a deal to make a Justin Bieber biopic for the big screen. The film will be in 3D and Davis Guggenheim is in negiations to direct. The film already has an official release date for February 11, 2011, Valentine’s Day weekend. Justin Bieber is a tween pop star that is also an internet phenomenon.

Deadline Reports:

http://www.deadline.com/2010/08/paramount-pictures-makes-justin-bieber-movie-deal/

You ask yourself, why does Justin Bieber deserve a biopic film this early, when many other musicians deserve it more than him? Well, that’s because Justin Bieber’s story is worth telling. Do you think Hollywood would do biopic films on Richie Valens, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Doors, etc. for no reason? No. There is a reason Hollywood makes movies on these legendary music stars. It’s not only to bring in money for the box office, but, it’s because that when Hollywood does biopics on bands, they have good enough stories that is worth telling to the whole world.

Justin Bieber’s story is worth telling for a lot of reasons. Everyone wants to know how this kid got into music early and everyone deserves to know how he got his popularity early.

I’m definitely not going to see this movie in theater but if the trailer looks interesting enough, I might wait for DVD on it.

I still stand by it, that his music is not that bad and it’s kind of a guilty pleasure.

Report: Jerry Garcia biopic coming to the big screen, and it will be directed by Amir Bar-Lev

“Truckin’, got my chips cashed in. Keep truckin’, like the doo dah man, Together, more or less in line, just keep truckin’ on”…

Yes, that’s right. Jerry Garcia is on his way to the big screen with his own biopic film, and it will be directed by Amir Bar-Lev. The film will focus on Jerry Garcia’s earlier days, before joining the Grateful Dead that made him a huge star.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118022032.html?categoryid=13&cs=1&ref=ssp

Since the film will focus on Jerry’s earlier days, I assume they will focus on his childhood, and how he got into music. I’m sure they will focus on his history of drug use as well. Garcia had a pretty rough childhood and he was already playing in bands way before the Grateful Dead even started. Him and Phil Lesh go way back.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Garcia

I think a Jerry Garcia biopic would be interesting and it’s well deserved.

So the question is? Who should play Jerry? I was thinking Jeff Bridges, but the article said they would focus on Garcia’s younger days, so they are probably gonna go for a younger actor.

They would obviously need an actor that is also a guitar player. This is a hard one to decide. Maybe the role should go to an unknown actor instead of a big name?

I’m a HUGE Grateful Dead fan by the way. Yeah, I’m a Dead Head like the rest of ’em. Except I don’t drink and don’t do drugs to the music. I don’t need to do that shit to enjoy the music, do I?
