Happy birthday Kurt Cobain who would have been 49 today…

I love Nirvana. Always did ever since I was a kid in high school. I’m glad I was around back when the grunge era started. Back in those days there was no such thing as youtube so in order for us to watch our favorite music videos we would have to wait for them to come on MTV. When I was a kid, each time a Nirvana video came on MTV, I would crank up the volume on the TV and play air guitar during it. Then I bought the “Nevermind” album on CD and I could never stop listening to it. I still love that album to death now. To me, listening to Nirvana will never get old.

If Kurt was still alive today would he still be with Nirvana? No… I don’t believe Nirvana would still be together today if Kurt was still alive. Before Kurt’s passing, he was on the verge of breaking up Nirvana. They were gonna do one last studio album and that was it, I think. If Kurt was still alive, I’m sure he would still be playing music. I would think he would have started a solo career and do side projects with other bands. I can still see him being involved in music though. I won’t believe that fake suicide note where he said he was gonna give up the industry ’cause it’s a load of bull.

Hopefully soon his death will be re-investigated ’cause we deserve answers for sure and we deserve to know the real truth of what really happened to Kurt. Courtney can’t cover her tracks forever… the truth will always come out. I predict that Kurt’s murder will no longer be conspiracy theory and will turn out to be real after all. Give it time. Courtney’s on her way to prison soon.

John Mayer jamming with “Dead & Company” is great! WOW!!!!

This performance is fucking amazing. I was never a big John Mayer fan. I actually liked John Mayer playing with the Dead. Good stuff. I’m not a big fan of John’s solo career but he can find a good side project when he wants to. Even though I’m not a fan of John Mayer, I do agree that he is a great guitar player. I’ve always respected his guitar playing, I just never liked his songwriting. He’s great with the Grateful Dead and I think John should stick with this type of music instead of the pop/mainstream stuff John is known for. Kudos John.

Makes me wanna see “Dead & Company” live myself. As a matter of fact, “Dead & Company” with John Mayer already played here in Albany not too long ago… I wanted to go to that show but couldn’t afford it. Yeah, I love the Grateful Dead!

Is Dave Mustaine really a dick? I don’t think he is…

A lot of people like to label Dave Mustaine as a dick, a douche or an egomaniac but is he really any of those things? The way I see him, no. To me, he always seemed like a cool, humble and down to earth guy. When you want to become a musician, of course you’re gonna get haters. That’s just the way it is.

Dave himself explains his theory on why people hate him but the truth haters are gonna hate. Period.

I don’t think Dave is a dick at all. If you want proof of that look at his new album with Megadeth, “Dystopia”… that was a crowd funded album and as one of the prizes for donating the album, he invited fans in the studio to witness the recording of the album which was cool of him really. Plus, Dave is great with his fans. Dave replies to his fans on twitter and he’s willing to take photos/sign autographs with them. He buried the hatchet with Metallica so that makes him a good guy enough and people still want to hate Dave.

I understand where Dave is coming from ’cause I get a lot of haters myself. It used to bother me why people get so obsessed of treating me in a negative direction but it don’t bother me anymore. I got so used to it that I don’t care what people think of me anymore. Yeah, there are a lot of haters and bullies who do nothing but follow everything I do on the internet and attack me all day but fuck ’em, ya know? There are just losers with no lives anyways. They just sit there and watch me 24/7 on my blog and social networking. They enjoy messing with me ’cause they have nothing better to do and that includes a few blog commenters which shall be nameless at this time.

Why do musicians get so many haters? I think it’s jealousy for the most part, absolutely ’cause if you are a musician there are gonna be too many people who want to be like you. They realize that you have what they don’t have and it’s pissing them off, really. You’ve got a lot of talent and unfortunately, it’s going to anger some for sure. Instead of them being proud and happy for you, they have to be all negative. All bands and music artists are gonna get their share of haters & critics. It doesn’t matter how good of a person they are, they are gonna get haters & critics. Haters & critics has become quite a problem in music but you have to learn to stay above ’em. Learn to take all the hate as a “compliment” ’cause like they all say bad publicity is good publicity. Haters can help make you even more popular.

Megadeth’s new album “Dystopia” is really amazing though. Listened to it a couple of times and it’s their best since “Rust In Peace”.

In defense to Lady Gaga tributing Bowie at the Grammy’s…

I know everyone may not be pleased about Lady Gaga performing a tribute to Bowie at the Grammy’s. There’s always gonna be those haters ’cause you can’t please everyone right? Anyway, I can see why Lady Gaga was the right performer to tribute Bowie ’cause think about it, right? I’ve been following Gaga’s career for a pretty long time. Her music and her image is all Bowie-like. David Bowie was one of her biggest influences and you can tell. She’s a visual artist like him and she is a fashion artist like him. That’s why she always dresses so strangely and outrageously ’cause she’s like him, ya know? Bowie was a pretty important part of her life. Gaga is a like modern version of David Bowie. I can’t see anybody else tributing David Bowie other than her. She’s the only one that could do it. Some may not have been pleased with it but no matter what you think of it, Bowie himself would have been proud.

We’ve tried to warn Kanye that having Kim Kardashian in his life would be toxic for him but he didn’t listen to us. Kanye takes to his twitter to rant about how much he is almost broke and he’s $53 million in debt. Now he’s asking for Mark Zuckerberg for help. Some of you are probably wondering what my thoughts about this are well here you go. It was only a matter of time that Kanye would get destroyed ’cause of the Kardashians. He’s gonna go broke ’cause of them. Kim K. married him to take his money.

In the 90’s, I was a kid in high school then and I used to listen to Salt N’ Pepa a lot. Back in the day, wow. I used to love Salt N’ Pepa and still do! They were a great rap group. I love them a lot more than TLC.

The Salt N’ Pepa girls used to be my crushes! Really I used to listen to their albums all the time when I was a kid. Used to have their CD’s but got rid of them as I got older. The Deadpool movie makes me enjoy Salt N’ Pepa music again.

I wish Salt N’ Pepa would reunite for a new album. I know the three ladies are aging now but they already reunited a couple of times over the years. Would like to hear new music from them as I believe they can still do it!

Bruce Springsteen to join the rock memoir bandwagon, will release “Born To Run” autobiography Sept. 27th…

There’s been too many rock stars over the years that has written their own memoirs published and sold in bookstores everywhere. Bruce Springsteen is about to join the bandwagon. There has been too many biography books about Springsteen everywhere but those biographies weren’t written by the man himself. Finally, we’re gonna get a book written by the man himself. Bruce will finally tell his own story. Bruce started writing the book after the 2009 Superbowl in which he was the halftime performer.

Despite his liberal politics in his songs, I’m still a huge fan of the Boss. Always loved his music for years. I have a lot of albums of his in my collection. I’m planning to give the rest of his albums a listen in Apple Music streaming soon.

I’m a big fan of Springsteen and will be buying this when it comes out. In the book, I’m sure he will talk about the making of every studio album he did and I’m sure he will talk about the history of the E Street Band. It’ll be interesting stuff I’m sure. Can’t wait!

Joan Jett posts selfie with Justin Bieber on Instagram, her fans freak out and get angry…

While Justin Bieber is strictly a pop artist, it seems that the guy is very supportive of other artists so kudos to him. To me Bieber seems like a down to earth and humble kid but music fans still want to treat him like he’s the enemy of the music industry.

It’s no secret that I always had no problem with Justin Bieber. You probably should know by now that I always defended him and he had my back over the years on this blog. I don’t think I’ve ever really bashed him that much. I never really had a problem with him at all.

Each time Bieber shows his support for another artist like Metallica or Nirvana, music fans treat him like it’s a bad thing for him to do. So what? Bieber shows his support for other artists, that’s not a bad thing ain’t it? Bieber is trying to show that he is a pretty humble guy. He’s not all about himself when it comes to his music. He’s leaving his ego at the door and wants to show love for other talent. What’s wrong with that?

Nope… anything this kid does is a bad thing. Doesn’t matter if Bieber does something positive to people, haters will always bash him no matter what he does.

I’ve never bought Justin’s music over the years but I respect the hell out of him, though. I know he’s done some bad things in his life but hey, he’s trying to straighten himself out and become a better person. He did just that so give the kid a break for once. He doesn’t deserve all of this hate, in my opinion.

RIP Irish blues rock guitarist, Gary Moore, who passed away 5 years ago today…

It’s kind of strange ’cause I’ve been listening to Gary Moore albums on Apple Music streaming most of this week. I was just in the mood for listening to some blues rock. Before anyone accuses me of being a bandwagon fan just because he died five years ago, it’s not true. I’ve been a fan of Gary Moore’s guitar playing even before that. Before he passed, I’ve always been a huge fan of his “Monsters of Rock” performance ’cause I remember watching it all on youtube. Then I started listening to all of his studio albums this week.

Many people wouldn’t think this but I fucking love the blues, man. Always had. I’ve kind of wanted to be a blues rock guitarist which is part of why I picked up the guitar in the first place. I love blues rock players like Gary Moore, SRV, Clapton, Hendrix, Joe Bonamassa, etc.

Gary Moore was a genius guitar player and he was a killer singer too. Before his passing, I’ve watched a lot of his live performances on youtube, just never listened to his studio albums until now. I wanna start collecting his music as I’ve just bought my own copy of his live album, “Monsters of Rock” a few nights ago.

I really love the blues a lot. I’ve been listening to a lot of blues music lately.

Stone Temple Pilots is continuing as a band and looking for a new singer…

Stone Temple Pilots has announced that even though Scott Weiland passed away and Chester Bennington has moved on… the band wants to continue. To be fair to them, I think this is what Scott Weiland would want them to do was to carry on with their music.

Dean, Robert and Eric are looking for a new frontman. They’re not just looking for another famous frontman… they’re looking for any frontman. So if you’re a singer, you could audition for the band too.
