Leg injury update, still got it a little bit but I can feel it going away though…

Thought I would give you a little injury update on my left leg… since I took three weeks off of lower body lifting, I can feel the left leg getting better. Still not 100% yet but getting there. I don’t want to get back into lower body lifting again ’cause if I did, I would re-injure it and it would come back and that’s what I don’t want. I can’t go back to lower body lifting at all until it heals 100%. I predict that it could take a couple of more weeks to heal fully… maybe like 2 or 3 weeks, we’ll see how it goes. If it takes a whole month off to heal the injury all the way, I’ll take it.

My left shoulder is bothering me again a little bit so I guess no upper body lifting for a while as well, lmao. That means I gotta stay away from weightlifting altogether if I want my minor injuries to heal completely.

I know these injuries are going away ’cause I can feel them. Even though I can’t get back into weightlifting at all, I won’t stop going to the gym, though. I can go to the gym and just walk the treadmill for an hour but that’s about all I can do. I did end up taking a full week off of the gym last week so that helped a lot.

Like I said, it’s completely okay to take time off from the gym if you’re hurting ’cause that’s what you gotta do. I don’t think anything is torn ’cause if something was torn you would see some nasty discoloring and I don’t have any of that. I think these minor injuries are just a strain or a pull or something, nothing that bad. I want them gone forever so no lifting until they are gone. I’ll take a full month off or more than a month, whatever it takes.

Getting injuries suck as I have had them before and they do take forever to heal. Yeah, you may lose a little muscle and a little strength during recovery but like I said, don’t worry… you’ll get it all back pretty quick. I do miss the deadlifting already and I want to get back into it pretty badly but not until I’m 100%.

I don’t regret taking time off from the gym for these injuries, though ’cause it’s almost at the end of the year and it’s a good time to heal anyways ’cause once I do heal fully… I’m gonna get back into kicking ass in the gym in 2020.

When I look in the mirror, though… I couldn’t believe how big my arms and my shoulders are getting, though. Hate to brag about myself but my arms are getting impressive.

I’m getting better… just gotta stop lifting for a while longer. I know it sucks but that’s what I gotta do. I want to get back into strength training for powerlifting real soon but not right now. Hopefully I’ll be 100% in the month of Dec.

Kev

The only time you should be taking time off from the gym is when you’re either injured or sick… but taking time off from the gym ’cause you don’t want to workout is not good…

If you want to get real strong and get real muscular in bodybuilding & powerlifting, you gotta stay consistent. You can’t give it up. That means you gotta keep going all year round. You’re not gonna get strong and muscular by slacking from the gym. Too many lifters slack from the gym from time to time. Slacking, their way of saying that they stopped going to the gym and taking time off from the gym just because they don’t want to workout or don’t feel like it which is bad. A lot of lifters do that from time to time, take a long break and then they come back to the gym admitting they’ve been slacking.

There are people who only work out at certain times of the year. It’s mostly during Spring/Summer where public gyms get real busy but during the Fall/Winter that’s when a lot of people would stop.

You see, I don’t do that. I like to workout in the gym all year-round. Stay in shape all-year round. I keep going to the gym all year round even throughout the Fall-Winter. This is what you must do if you want to have the body of your dreams and get real strong for powerlifting. The more you take time off, the more your body starts to atrophy… meaning that you’ll lose muscle. You won’t get strong and you won’t build muscle by not working out and not lifting weights. You won’t keep the muscle when you take a lot of time off from the gym. Sorry but that’s just the sad truth. That’s why you gotta stay consistent and not give it up.

This is why I feel I’ve gotten bigger in size. It’s why my arms are getting bigger and it’s why I’ve gotten some pretty serious chest gains ’cause I’ve been hitting the gym non-stop throughout the 4 seasons all year round. I’m committed and dedicated to this.

I rarely take time off from the gym except for one or two times a year. The only time you should take time off from the gym is when you’re either very sick or injured.

I haven’t been doing lower body lifting for the past two weeks ’cause I’m trying to make my left leg injury go away for good. I may have to give it another week this weekend ’cause I still got it just a little tiny bit. It’s feeling a lot better now but I still got it just a little. I should take the whole month of Nov. off of the gym ’cause my body feels beatup. It’s a good idea for me to take Nov. off of lifting so I can heal and recharge. My left shoulder still feels a little weak admittedly so I guess no upper body lifting for a few weeks as well.

I want to heal all the way so I can get back into strength training for powerlifting hopefully in Dec. I just want these injuries gone for good. It’s okay to take time off from the gym if you’re hurting, though ’cause that’s what you gotta do. You won’t get rid of injuries faster if you keep training that hurt body part. When you don’t put weight on it, the injury will go away faster but if you train that hurt body part again, it’ll come back or will get worse. That’s why you gotta stop training as soon as possible.

This sucks ’cause I want to get back into heavy lifting again so I can prepare for my first USAPL meet whenever that will be. I don’t think I’ll do a USAPL meet this year but I think 2020 will be my year for sure.

During injury recovery, I might lose a little bit of muscle and strength but I’ll get it back. Injuries are frustrating and annoying but once I heal completely, I’ll be more careful so I won’t get ’em ever again.

Nov. is a great time for me to settle down on the lifting in the gym, though. Sometimes you need that so you can heal and recharge. I do know that when I get back into heavy lifting, my body will be sore after but that’s good.

I want to get back into big deadlifting again ’cause I’m missing that already. I could if I wanted but if I did then my left leg injury would come back and don’t want it to come back. It’s just about getting better right now so I think I’ll give it two more weeks. No doctor needed. I can heal it all on my own.

The Black Crowes officially returns once again and they are still killing it after all these years!!!

The Black Crowes first album. “Shake Your Money Maker” which had this song may have came out in 1990 but the Black Crowes are still killing it even to this day. I love watching live band performances on the Howard Stern show ’cause the sound quality is so damn good in that studio. When you hear bands perform on Howard Stern, you can hear every instrument pretty clearly which is amazing. Whoever does the sound on the Stern show definitely knows what he’s doing when it come to sound quality.

Anyway, this performance was fucking awesome and they still kill it as you can see.

Yeah, I know the Robinson brothers always had a hard time getting along over the years and the Black Crowes play on and off ’cause they keep breaking up all the time it seems. Well it seems that Chris and Rich has buried the hatchet once again but it’ll be interesting to see how long this one will last, though. It’ll be interesting to see how long their 2020 tour will last. We’ll see, though.

Hopefully the Black Crowes will stick together for a while longer and hopefully their 2020 tour will be a success without them breaking up again. We’ll see. Hopefully they put out a new record as well.

I only have one album by the Black Crowes which is “Shake Your Money Maker” and it’s a great album. I’ve always liked the Black Crowes and glad they’re back for now anyways. They’re just another one of those bands where they have members that don’t get along so well.

I loved watching that performance above… Chris is still killing it on the vocals and his voice is sounding better than ever too.

The Jaliek Rainwalker missing child case is about to go national finally, the case will be featured for an A&E cable TV show called “Vanished In Paradise: The Untold Story”…

Over the past 12 years since Jaliek Rainwalker has been missing and the case still not being solved, this case has caught a lot of attention in the local news. It’s also gone viral in the podcast industry as there has been many podcasts and youtube videos about this case.

In the beginning, the local news media were all over this case but it seems the local news media stopped reporting about the case except for the Post-Star who seems to be on it still… thanks to writer Don Lehman who seems to be the only local journalist trying to keep the Jaliek story in the news.

Well, it looks like the case is about to finally go national. The case never got national media attention until now. The A&E true crime TV show titled, “Vanished in Paradise: The Untold Story” was in my hometown of Greenwich last week filming for the show. They will feature an episode on the Jaliek Rainwalker case. The episode will air on A&E Cable TV for the “Vanished In Paradise: The Untold Story” which is aired on Thursday nights. The episode will also be uploaded to Facebook on the A&E FB page.

A&E was in Greenwich last week filming for the show like I said and they interviewed quite a lot of people. Who did they interview for the show? I’m not sure yet but I’m sure they interviewed Barb Reeley who is Jaliek’s adopted grandmother who is the only one in the family trying to find out what happened to Jaliek. I’m also sure they interviewed the new Greenwich/Cambridge chief police and I’m not sure who else they interviewed.

https://poststar.com/blogs/don_lehman/blog-online-show-exploring-jaliek-case/article_dc5ee926-2ab0-53f9-ad98-c181d0e6285f.html?fbclid=IwAR1D-5NNBqYb9R48fsjKObK5qCwkW6IyAd-XvvFeKJdrNd0IJdwItMm5kp0#utm_campaign=blox&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social

Some of you may ask, did A&E interview Jaliek’s adoptive parents Stephen & Jocelyn? I’m sure they wanted to interview them for the show but I’m pretty sure they didn’t go for it. In the beginning, the adoptive parents were cooperative with the local news media but they stopped after Stephen refused to take a polygraph test. The adoptive Mom & Dad did only one interview for the press… they did one interview for WNYT News Channel 13 and that was it. Since then, they refused to speak with the media ever again and they avoid talking with people looking for Jaliek like the plague so I don’t think Stephen & Jocelyn will be on this show. I can see their lawyer being interviewed on the show maybe but that’s about it.

Once this story goes national on A&E, Stephen & Jocelyn are in trouble… their days are numbered once this story goes viral nationally. They think they can kill a child and continue to live their lives as if it didn’t happen but we will get them in handcuffs somehow.

Once this episode gets on facebook, I’ll post it on the blog asap. I’ve been following this case ever since it happened and it never left my mind so I’m looking forward to watching this episode myself. Glad that national TV has finally picked up on this case, though. True crime TV shows on cable TV are pretty good at solving mysterious cases, they are no joke. I hope this episode haunts the adoptive parents once it gets on facebook… those murderers. We’ll get them somehow. They think they can get away with it and play this sick game of “catch us if you can” but we’ll get ’em. We’ll find Jaliek somehow ’cause that’s all we want.

“AEW: Full Gear” ppv, I watched it and it was very good. It showed what wrestling fans really want!

Well, so I watched the latest AEW wrestling ppv titled, “Full Gear” last night. The card was pretty impressive so I couldn’t miss it. I wanted to watch the two big main events Chris Jericho vs. Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley ’cause I knew those two matches were gonna end up being the best matches of the night and they were. I was very impressed with last night’s AEW ppv. I enjoyed every match. They were all very good but like I said Jericho vs. Rhodes and Omega vs. Moxley were the best.

I’ve been watching AEW ever since they started with their very first ppv “Double or Nothing” and this company is getting better and better. Last night’s ppv “Full Gear”, AEW showed what WWE has been missing all these years: “wrestling”. That’s what fans watch these shows for… fans want to see good wrestling and WWE doesn’t give us that anymore.

AEW knows what kind of wrestling matches we want to see. We want to see matches that tell a story. We want to see thrills and chills and excitement. AEW definitely gave us all that last night which is what WWE has been missing for years. We want to see good wrestling back. WWE matches over the last decade or so has been boring as fuck… they used to be really good in the 80’s and 90’s but WWE has been crap lately and they aren’t getting any better even though they try.

I want to talk about the thrilling Omega vs. Jon Moxley match from last night, though. Their match was called “Lights Out” and it was an unsanctioned match so this match means anything goes. It was a hardcore match. It was a very violent and dark match all the way through and it went on for almost an hour or a little more. They were using all kinds of weapons, barbed wire, chains, etc. There was also a lot of blood too. That “violent” match was nothing new. We had “extreme” hardcore wrestling in the WWE back in the 90’s and there was ECW wrestling but “extreme” wrestling took a long hiatus until now. Hardcore wrestling is officially back and AEW brought back hardcore wrestling.

Watching that match last night Omega vs. Moxley, made me realize how much I miss hardcore and extreme wrestling ’cause I’m a big fan of that style of wrestling. You don’t see that style of wrestling in WWE anymore ’cause WWE banned it since they went PG. After that match last night, I hope WWE is waking up and realizing we want that style of wrestling back. During the Hardcore and extreme era in the 90’s, that’s where Mick Foley as Cactus Jack, Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer, RVD, The Sandman, the two Holly Brothers – Hardcore and Crash and the Sandman were all a part of in the old WWE and ECW days.

Last night’s AEW ppv was only the beginning, though. I think we’re about to see more and more of Extreme Wrestling in AEW in the future, absolutely. When is AEW going to put on their first steel cage match or a Hell in a Cell style kind of match? I’m sure they will. They are still a pretty new company and they will give us their first “cage/Cell” match very soon, I’m sure.

I am loving AEW more and more and I think Tony Khan is doing a very good job. Tony Khan who is the owner of AEW definitely knows his wrestling for sure and he definitely knows what fans want to see.

AEW is so refreshing, though. So nice to see them calling it “professional wrestling” and not “sports entertainment”. That’s how it should be. If you’re a wrestling fan yourself and if you’re not watching AEW then you should. You’re missing out on some good stuff. Start watching AEW Dynamite on TNT Wednesday nights.

Now I want to start getting some AEW t-shirts soon and I will. I want to get a t-shirt with the All Elite Wrestling logo on the front of it. I also want to get a Chris Jericho shirt, a Kenny Omega shirt and a Adam Hangman Page shirt ’cause they are my favorite now. Man, I hope AEW will start putting on shows in Albany, NY ’cause I would love my chance to see them live in person. What they’re doing is really good.

I’m sure the McMahon family and the WWE are getting really worried now after last night.

Still no deadlifting and lower body work until left leg heals 100%…

Another week of skipping deadlifting and leg day workouts. I hate it so much and it’s pissing me off but it’s the best thing I can do if I want this left leg injury to go away completely. It is getting better, though. Slowly but surely. I can tell whether or not I still got it by either standing for a long time or even sitting. I don’t need no doctor ’cause I know it’s a healable injury so I’ll recover it fine by myself.

I could get back to deadlifting and lower body work if I wanted but I’m not gonna ’cause if I did then the injury would come back and would take even longer to heal. It’ll probably take a few more weeks to get rid of it.

As I soon as I do heal 100% and when I’m completely injury free, I’m gonna get back to serious lower body lifting. Get right back to deadlifting and squatting so I can prepare for my first USAPL powerlifting meet whenever that will be. I don’t know if I’ll do a USAPL meet this year but definitely sometime in 2020. I just want to give myself more time and bring my numbers up on the bench, deadlift and squat.

I might lose a little bit of muscle and “strength” but I’ll be back on fire real soon. It’s crazy, ya know. I rarely get injuries in the gym and I haven’t gotten injured in a long time. How did I get this minor leg injury? I blame the leg press either that or doing so much for the legs. I’m gonna have to cut out some quad exercises so I won’t get it again.

My leg is getting better the more I don’t put weight on it so I’ll give it a lot more time.

I brought my gym days back down to 3 days a week but as soon as my leg fully heals, I’ll get right back to 4 days a week as soon as possible. When you have a leg injury you gotta stop deadlifting ’cause the deadlift takes a lot of leg work. The deadlift targets the whole lower body pretty much.

As soon as my leg heals completely, back to some serious lifting. I think I’ll take a whole month of Nov. off of lower body lifting so I can give it more time. Sounds like a good idea, I think.

I finally saw the first bad movie of 2019… Sorry “Terminator: Dark Fate”…

Well yesterday afternoon, I went to the mall so I can get a haircut and I decided to see a movie just to kill some time. Since I’m a pretty big Terminator fan and seen most Terminator films in theater, I decided to see the new “Terminator: Dark Fate” since there was nothing else interesting playing. The “Joker” movie stopped playing in theaters now so I’m gonna have to wait for BluRay release on that one.

So far, I loved all the Terminator movies… yes I even thought “Terminator: Salvation”, “Rise of the Machines” and “Genisys” were all great but finally they made a Terminator film that I absolutely hated so much. Yup, “Terminator: Dark Fate” was terrible. The first Terminator film that I thought was garbage and a piece of trash. Yes, it was that bad.

Why was “Dark Fate” terrible? Well for starters they overdid the CGI with this one and it felt like I was watching a cartoon. Yes, the previous Terminator films were loaded with CGI but the earlier films did a good job with CGI and made it realistic looking. The CGI was pretty bad in “Dark Fate”. I also thought the writing and the script was a complete mess and the acting was terrible.

It may seemed exciting that Linda Hamilton came back to reprise her role as the original Sarah Connor but even Linda played the character so badly. Linda is almost 65 and she hasn’t done a movie for the big screen in many years from what I remember. I don’t think she has the acting talent anymore and I thought she was boring in the film.

And of course, we didn’t get much of Arnold either… he only did a few big action scenes and that was it.

Another big reason it sucked so much is that it’s another feminist movie. It screamed “feminism” all over it absolutely. This “Dark Fate” movie had women all over it and all it did was make men look bad. No wonder people has been turning away from Hollywood ’cause the movie industry is so obsessed with feminism and ramming it down our throats.

I know Terminator movies over the years keep getting negative to positive reviews but finally I gave in and thought the latest Terminator film sucked hard. It’s such a shame ’cause I’m a big Terminator fan and the franchise was a big part of my childhood.

The first two films: “The Terminator” with Linda and Michael Biehn and “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” will always be classic films. Those two films are masterpieces and essentials. No other Terminator film will top them. James Cameron definitely ruined Terminator and it’s sad. It’s hard to make a great Terminator film and I think they should hang up the series for good.

I don’t think I’ll buy this one once it comes out on BluRay.

Kev

Well, I finally joined the USAPL powerlifting federation… I decided to do it after all!!!!

Well y’all, I actually did it this week. I joined the USAPL. My powerlifting career officially begins. It was $65 for registration fee and if I ever did my first USAPL meet, I would be competing in the Masters Division since I’m an over 40 lifter.

Yeah, doing powerlifting meets is gonna be expensive… the admission fee to compete in USAPL meets could cost around $60 – $100 or more. Powerlifting might be “pricey” yes but hey, like they all say “You can only live once”… which is true. Since you can only live once, I wanna do “great” things in my life and powerlifting is my calling. Powerlifting gives me something to do and makes me feel like an athletic person.

When I start doing USAPL meets like the instagram post says I’m only gonna do like 1 or 2 powerlifting meets a year… maybe 3 if I get lucky. For now, I’m only going to do local and state meets for the USAPL.

Will I ever compete on the bigger national meets like the RAW Nationals like they have every year? Yes, I will absolutely compete on the RAW Nationals someday but I’m not gonna rush on that one and gonna take my time. I’m not gonna compete on the RAW Nationals until I start hitting the bigger weights. When I start hitting over 500 lbs. on the squats, bench and deadlift maybe I’ll start thinking about the RAW Nationals but I don’t want to get too ahead of myself. I also want to compete for the Arnold Festival too someday but I’m not gonna rush on that either.

I’m just gonna start small and build my way up. I’m hoping to be one of the greats in powerlifting someday so I joined the USAPL in hopes of making that dream come true.

So when will be my first USAPL powerlifting meet??? I don’t know. I’m thinking about doing the Northeast Ironbeast in Loudonville, NY in Jan. I’m nursing a left leg injury so I’m hoping it heels all the way before then. I’m sure it will. I’m still trying to recover from the left leg injury completely. I skipped leg day last week and will skip lower body workouts this week too so I can give it more time to heal ’cause I want the injury gone for good. My left leg has gotten better, though. I still feel it a little bit and still feeling a little leg weakness but I’m not gonna go back to lower body workouts until I don’t feel it at all.

Whenever I do heal completely and fully, I’m going to train real hard on deadlift and squats.

Now that I’m a USAPL member, I’m going to have to take some time to read their powerlifting rulebook ’cause it’s important.

Yeah, powerlifting is my new lifestyle and I’m glad to be a part of the community. My numbers for deadlift, squats and bench maybe kind of small right now but give it time, I’ll build them up real soon. Building strength will take some time.

Powerlifting really is a blast. Love it so much, I can see why the sport is getting so popular and exploding nowadays. It’s a blast to show off what you can do and it’s fun to watch other lifters as well. I want to win and kick ass in powerlifting. Win all kinds of trophies and medals, break state and world records. Get ready, y’all. This is only the beginning. So happy that I found a sport that I do.

If Jaliek Rainwalker is still alive like they say then they need to prove it… they can’t just say it…

73240675_10221184756034103_620882263311122432_n (1).jpg

This anonymous letter was sent to the local news media in 2008 after Jaliek Rainwalker disappeared from Greenwich in 2007. In this old article by Don Lehman, the adoptive parents and their lawyer were quick to defend it by claiming that this letter has information on it that only Jaliek knows which to me is a load of bull. They want us to believe that Jaliek is alive and well and they still maintain that claim even to this day.

Read this old article here:

https://poststar.com/news/local/anonymous-letter-jaliek-still-alive/article_cb916635-c996-55ba-8d28-ffcf66009b99.html

They want us to believe that he is alive but no one is buying it ’cause there is not a shred of evidence that he is alive. What information on here that only Jaliek would know? Well Jaliek had a cat named Diamond and about the macaronni family thing, I think it’s a misspelled word of “macaroni” so is there a family that Jaliek knew that he used to make “macaroni” with? That could be what the macaroni thing is about.

The “Franti Yell Fire” thing was a line from a song by Michael Franti and Spearhead “Yell Fire”. I listened to the song myself plenty of times and I can’t see a 12 year old kid with all kinds of special needs problems knowing who an artist by the name of Michael Franti is. I heard something about that Jaliek was a fan of music but I can’t see him knowing who Michael Franti is and that’s when I knew immediately that this letter has “bullshit” written all over it. Unless “the parents” are fans of Michael Franti, hmmm???

They want us to believe he’s still alive and well but there’s not a shred of evidence. That’s why Jaliek has been presumed dead for years and we will continue to believe that he’s still dead since there is no proof of him being alive. Like the title of this blog says, “You can’t just say it, you gotta prove it” which is true.

These adoptive parents have been asked repeatedly to prove that he’s still alive but they haven’t yet. How would they prove that he’s still alive? Well… how about release a video of Jaliek talking to us, how about send out a recent picture of him to the media and maybe even have Jaliek call the police department to tell them that he’s okay… but so far none of that stuff yet.

There’s no evidence of him being alive. There is NOTHING…. zilch.

If he really is alive, though then why would they hide him? Are people out there holding him captive if he is alive? Could be a possibility and admittedly that has crossed my mind a little bit that someone or some people might be holding him captive out there… ya know, holding him as a prisoner or something. The adoptive parents might of given him to another family who is holding him as a prisoner and at a pretty good hideout. Could be a likely scenario. If he’s still alive, there’s got to be a reason they won’t prove it ’cause whether Jaliek is alive or dead, there was a crime committed either way. They could have given him away to another family illegally when they weren’t supposed to.

For now, though, I’m going to believe he’s dead like everyone else.

If these adoptive parents are innocent like they say they are then why won’t they cooperate to help find their son like the rest of us trying to help find him? If he’s alive and well like they claim then they need to prove it. You can’t just say it ’cause “words” don’t prove anything and that’s why no one is believing everything this letter says.

Kev

So glad I skipped leg day last week, no regrets… will do the same this week…

Man, maybe stopping lower body workouts completely is a good thing after all ’cause the left leg injury is already feeling better. Starting to go away already. Still feel it a little bit but way better than before. It’ll probably only take a few weeks for it heel completely but I think I need a full month off of lower body workouts to give it plenty of more time.

I don’t think I’ll lose any strength but even if I did a little bit, I’m not so worried about it ’cause when I come back from the injury I’m gonna train harder than ever.

My goal for Deadlift is that I want to be able do 300 lbs. for more reps. I’m not quite there yet but hopefully I’ll get lucky enough to get there before the year ends. Just got to wait for this minor leg injury to go away and then I’ll start doing some serious deadlifting again.

I didn’t get the leg injury from deadlifting, I got it from the leg press I think. I blame it on that.

I’m signing up for the USAPL this week and want to start doing USAPL meets soon so I gotta be completely injury free for them. I’m hoping to do the Northeast Ironbeast USAPL meet in January and probably gonna. Just gotta get rid of this damn leg injury.
