Mel Gibson set to direct and co-write “The Wild Bunch” remake… will Mel star in the film as well???

Well this is interesting. Warner Bros. has got “The Wild Bunch” remake in the works and they just signed Mel Gibson to direct and co-write the film. The question is will Mel star in the film as well? That is not yet known but I’m sure we’ll know pretty soon. Who’s gonna play the leading character of the film, Pike Bishop? I think none other than Mel Gibson himself should play that character ’cause Pike does remind me of Mel. The Pike role would fit Mel perfectly so don’t be surprised if Mel does decide to take on the role. Mel did direct and star in two films in the past which were “The Man Without a Face” and “Braveheart” (both excellent movies, by the way). Mel directed “Passion of the Christ”, “Apocalypto” and “Hacksaw Ridge” but didn’t star in those movies.

Currently Mel is at work on “The Passion” sequel and he’s going to get right to work on “The Wild Bunch” after that.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/mel-gibson-direct-write-wild-bunch-remake-1146622?utm_source=twitter&utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral

If Mel decides not to star in “The Wild Bunch” remake at all then I’m sure he’ll get someone else to play Pike and it will be interesting to see who he’s going to choose.

I’ve seen “The Wild Bunch” movie like once and it’s definitely one of the greatest Western films in the history of cinema. It was probably the most violent Western movie I’ve ever seen and Mel’s version would probably be even more violent. You know how violent and dark Mel Gibson directed movies can be.

Since “The Wild Bunch” remake is by Warner Bros., I am predicting we have a huge hit in our hands here. People will pack up the theaters for this one for sure, I bet. I’m sure Mel will choose a great cast for the other Wild Bunch gang members too.

I don’t like Hollywood remaking classics but I’m actually all for this one and I’m sure Mel can pull it off nicely. Mel seems to be a huge fan of Western stories so I’m sure he’ll do a good job. Remember, Mel starred in a Western movie once… remember the movie, “Maverick” released in 1994?

I didn’t get into powerlifting to win trophies or medals, honestly, I got into it hoping to get more strength…

Leaving a powerlifting contest meet with trophies or medals maybe cool but that’s not exactly what I got into powerlifting for. I got into powerlifting ’cause I wanted to build more strength quicker and I figure powerlifting would be good for that. My plan in life is to do a combination of both powerlifting and bodybuilding. Build more muscle and get more strength.

On the bench press, while I’m able to bench 90 lbs. for one rep… I can’t bench 90 lbs. for 10 – 12 reps yet. I need more strength in order to do that. Doing powerlifting will give me more strength to bench the heavy reps more which is the goal. For now I can bench 70 lbs. for 10 reps and 4 sets each.

I really want to get more strength and hopefully to get bigger in size too. To get bigger in size, I need to eat more. I’m gonna do more research on powerlifting nutrition ’cause I’ll probably have to eat more calories in order to get bigger, though. I’ll still need to eat clean and healthy, eat a lot of protein… just need to eat a lot more probably. There’s a misconception out there that powerlifting doesn’t make you bigger and just gives you more strength and that’s it which I find a bunch of bullshit, really. Weightlifting is weightlifting. No matter how you do it, you always build more muscle and strength.

I’m already am kind of big in size but could be a lot bigger, though. It just takes time to get there and I’m not gonna rush.

Powerlifting comes with a lot of great benefits. Not only does it gives you a lot more strength and makes you feel stronger, it’s also the best fat burner and it gives you more bone strength too.

Thing is a lot of people in my life get worried about all this heavy lifting that I do and some say I shouldn’t over do it and calm down on the weight lifting. They want me to go easy on the lifting, I’m so sick of it! No freakin’ way! I do things my own way in the gym and do whatever the hell I wanna do. Lifting heavy is the name of the game in bodybuilding and powerlifting, ya know? Train like a fuckin’ real lifter. I want to prove the doubters wrong that I can lift heavy and it’s working pretty much… posting all those videos on instagram. People are always telling me to be careful and go easy on the weights but again, no fucking way. I’ve been lifting for like a decade or a little over and there are always people acting like that I don’t know what I’m doing. It’s annoying really, lmao. I just do my own thing and just ignore everybody.

I also got into powerlifting so I can tell how exactly strong I am ’cause I can’t tell my own strength. I’m already am pretty strong really but could get a lot stronger but working on it. I can bench a 100 lbs. and I can deadlift 210 lbs. so I would say that is pretty strong. I even surprise myself.

Another reason I got into powerlifting is ’cause I wanted to get into a sport on a professional level, ya know? Over the years, I couldn’t play sports like baseball, basketball and football ’cause of my scoliosis but weightlifting I can do.

The question is, would I try out other powerlifting competitions around the NY State? Yes, I’m definitely going to try other powerlifting federations but I’ll stick with Albany Strength aka ASPF for now. Would I one day do one of the bigger competitions like some of the ones you see on TV? Who knows. Anything is possible. I only did one powerlifting meet and gonna do more of them hopefully in the future.

I do hope one day to make it on the USA Powerlifting meets at Arnold’s Sports Festival where the big pros do their thing: https://www.arnoldsportsfestival.com/sports-and-events/strength-sports/usa-powerlifting/. That would be pretty cool.

On top of all this, another reason I got into powerlifting is to do something fun, challenging and different. I want to feel like a sportsman and become an athletic person. Powerlifting is amazing. It’s an easy and safe sport too. Doing powerlifting is not dangerous as it looks.

Kevin Smith weighs in on DC/Warner Bros. no longer making Superman movies to concentrate on other superhero films… he says it’s a mistake and I agree…

Kevin Smith weighs in on his thoughts about DC/Warner Bros. no longer making Superman films to concentrate on other superhero flicks which sparked the rumor that Henry Cavill maybe hanging up the cape for good.

Kevin says what DC Films are doing is a huge mistake. Why? It’s because Superman is the king of all superheroes. Superman was the first superhero ever created… he paved the way for many other superheroes to be created. He also says we’re in an era of comic book movies and he feels Superman shouldn’t be ignored.

Kevin Smith Thinks DC Films Not Making Superman Movies Are A Mistake

I agree with everything he said. Without Superman, we wouldn’t have gotten other DC Superheroes such as Supergirl, Batman, The Flash, Wonderwoman, The Green Lantern, Aquaman, Thor, etc. Marvel comics happened ’cause of Superman too, admit it right? The Superman character popularized comics… that’s a fact.

The Superman character is so famous and legendary, the character shouldn’t be ignored at all. The character’s legacy needs to be kept alive forever so for DC Films/Warner Bros. to neglect Superman for other superhero films is a freakin’ joke.

Superman was a character that was loved by people of all ages. I loved the character ever since I was a child and still love the character now. I was a Superman fanatic all my life. When I was a child, I was obsessed with the Christopher Reeve Superman flicks and still love those movies. When I was a child, I used to watch the George Reeves Superman TV show and used to watch all the Superman cartoons. Of course, I used to read Superman comics when I was a kid too and I just gotten back into reading Superman comics. I just love the character.

Whether or not Henry Cavill is still on for Superman, DC Films still needs to make Superman films either way. Just have a different Superman actor for all I care, just keep making Superman movies. Sure the Henry Cavill Superman films got mixed reviews but they were all still huge money makers. If Henry is out as Superman then just do another reboot… anything. Just don’t ignore Superman, period.

Superman is an important character for all of us and always will be.

When your friends and even family aren’t supportive enough of your music, here’s what you do…

I was googling about music and songwriting and things like that and I came across this interesting blog. An older blog post that was posted a few years ago but this one part in the blog really hit me.

Yeah, I’m a musician and singer/songwriter myself. Even though it seems like I’m a cover song guy, I write a lot of original music too. I haven’t written new songs in a long time but planning on getting back into songwriting.

I remember when I did write a bunch of original songs in the past and putting them all out on the internet for all to hear, I had a difficult time trying to get people to support my music. I tried my best to get some of my friends and people I know… even my own family members to be more supportive of my music but not many of them cared. This could be why:

Why Most of Your Friends Don’t Support Your Music

1.More in likely, They Don’t Like Your music, And Just Don’t Want To Tell You

I stopped inboxing and telling most of my friends about my music and my band.

If they are not interested or not apart of the fan base, me trying to force my music on them is not going to do any good.

Unfortunately, most of them only support you when you make it. Or even worst, doubt you, then act like they supported you when you get it.

Do I hate them? Of course not. It might not be their cup of tea.

I’m just explaining one of the brutal truths.

https://medium.com/royaltivirtue/why-most-of-your-friends-dont-support-your-music-8c4f6595b444

So there you have it, that is exactly why your own friends, acquaintances and even your own family members are not that supportive of your music when you would like them to be. You try your best to get them to listen to your stuff and even get them out to your live gigs but they just don’t seem to care. Well, the truth is maybe they just think you suck and they’re just afraid to tell you so they won’t upset you, ya know?

Yeah, I know it’s really hard to get people to like your music as I have been there. When I was putting out original music, playing live shows in the past… I’ve even had some nasty critics who weren’t afraid to tell me that I suck musically.

Ya know what? All that is fine and good. When you’re a music artist and songwriter, the last thing you want to do is force your music on to people like this blog said.

What you want to do is keep making music and keep putting it out there. The fans will come to you on their own if they dig your music. Let the fans come to you, don’t force your music on others. It may seem like not many people like my music but I’ve had actual fans out there which meant a lot. When I used to gig live in the past, I’ve had complete strangers aka people who I didn’t even know come to my gigs and they ask for a photo with me and all that stuff. I’ll never forget it. It’s a wonderful feeling that you get actual fans that support your music and I’ve got some out there.

When you’re a music artist and songwriter, you’re definitely gonna get haters, critics and doubters. Best thing to do is ignore them and keep making music. In time, people will start to realize that you are talented after-all and you’ll have a huge following before you know it.

Truthfully, you don’t want to have an audience of friends and family as your fanbase ’cause that’s not how it’s done. You want people who don’t know you to support your music. If people don’t like your music, who cares. Fuck ’em, it ain’t the end of the world. Truthfully, I don’t care whether or not people like my music. If they hate it, fine. If they love it, that’s great. I do music for myself for the most part and that’s a great attitude to have.

The key is let the music speak on its own. So many musicians out there don’t know how to do that nowadays. When musicians out there are told that they suck, they get so defensive and that’s the last thing you want to do. A lot of musicians out there get so offended easily over negative criticism. Me? I don’t give a shit. I used to get upset having so many haters but I don’t care anymore really. Just gotta learn to stay above the negative criticism.

Just keep playing and keep making your music. You want to grow your own audience and fanbase. There are millions of people in this country. If some assholes out there aren’t cool enough to support your music and they want to be nothing but jerks, who cares. There WILL be some who will be kind enough to support your music.

Speaking of songwriting, I gotta get back into it ’cause I really miss it.

My latest personal record for deadlift is 210 lbs… see video here…

Here is my latest deadlifting lift. This is me attempting to lift a big 210 lbs. which was a successful lift.

Admittedly I’ve been still trying to get the form down perfectly. Somebody once said I needed to bend my knees more which I did here and somebody once said I needed to line my shoulders up with my shoes so my arms can be perfectly straight on the bar which I also did here. Next time I do deadlifts, I’ll film myself sideways to see if I got the form down.

I’m still trying to get the form down by watching deadlift tutorials through youtube. Perfect form in weightlifting is vital. It must be taking very seriously and I’m trying.

Enjoy the video. I love deadlifting. It’s the best barbell workout for sure, in my opinion. Benching would be my second favorite barbell workout, squats would be my last. I’m trying to like barbell squats more, it’s hard to get into but I’ll get used to it.

Warner Bros. teases “Joker” spin-off with Joaquin Phoenix starring as the Joker and it’s looking freaking awesome already!

First look of Warner Bros./DC’s of the Joker’s first solo movie is here. It shows Joaquin Phoenix without the Joker make-up and with the full make-up on. I’m already very impressed with it and now find this very intriguing!

They don’t show you what Joker’s laugh sounds like yet but I’m sure they will show us pretty soon. Will Joaquin’s Joker laugh be better than Mark Hamill’s? We’ll have to wait and see. I’m sure we’ll hear the new Joker laugh when the teaser trailer comes out.

So Joaquin Phoenix gets officially added to the list of other actors playing the Joker in live action films/TV: Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, Cameron Monaghan and now Joaquin Phoenix is the latest Joker actor.

Who do I think played the best Joker? Well to me it’s a tie between Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson, of course. They were the best. Can Phoenix top ’em? We’ll have to wait and see the movie and see for ourselves.

Sly Stallone announced he is leaving to start filming the next Rambo in 5 days…

Looks like Sly is leaving to start filming the next Rambo film as soon as possible. Looks like Sly is not gonna let his hair grow out for Rambo this time. Are we going to get a short haired Rambo? Looks like it.

Anyway, I’m getting very excited for the next Rambo and I’m sure Sly still can play the character very well. I hope the next Rambo movie will be action packed, violent, gritty and gory. I’m sure we’ll get all those and Sly won’t disappoint us at all.

So far the only cast member confirmed for “Rambo 5” is none other than Sly himself, course… I’m sure the film crew will sign more cast members. I’m hoping we’ll see the return of Julie Benz who played Sarah in the 2008 movie… maybe she’ll make a cameo at least, who knows?

I know it’s gonna be hard to see a Rambo movie without Col. Trautman but I hope we see some flashback scenes of him this time ’cause in the 2008 movie, we did get Trautman flashbacks but very little.

I hope they do a good job with the next Rambo movie. They’ll be filming a lot of this movie in other countries overseas. Will they film in the United States? I’m sure they will but they’ll probably film near the Mexican border since this is a movie about Mexican sex traffickers.

This is probably gonna be the final Rambo film and how will they end the Rambo series? Will Rambo get killed off this time? I’m predicting yes that will probably happen. The title of the next movie is “Last Blood” and that’s a clue. They tried to kill Rambo off in the very first movie, “Rambo: First Blood” just like in the book but I think they might kill him off this time. It’s definitely a possibility so don’t be surprised if I turn out exactly right.

Kiss announces final tour titled, “End of the Road”… does this mean they’re breaking up and calling it quits too???

Of course, this wasn’t the first time Kiss had a farewell tour. I remember they had one back in the year 2000 and after the tour, the band split for a while. Of course, they came back later. Not sure how many times they’ve done this over the years but I’m sure they’ve had farewell tours a few times. Well here is another one.

The tour dates hasn’t been revealed yet but I’m sure they will be soon.

Some of you may ask, why is Kiss calling it quits again? Well it seems to me that the band is losing interest and they don’t care anymore. Ya know, think about it. Paul and Gene are getting older pretty much. When Paul and Gene first started Kiss, they were in their early 20’s, I think and now they’re in the late 60’s now. They’re getting old to be doing this and that’s why you see the guys in Kiss doing other things during the band’s hiatus. For example, Gene Simmons went on a solo tour with his solo band called the Gene Simmons band and Paul Stanley went on with his musical project called Soul Station. Gene also released his musical project called, “The Vault” which he has been promoting for a long while now. Paul and Gene are both entrepreneurs as they both own “Rock N’ Brews” restaurants all across the country. Paul is also an artist and he has been getting into painting more.

So yeah, the guys in Kiss has been keeping busy with other things lately so that’s a hint that they are hanging it up for good.

Yeah, a lot of legendary rock bands and artists have been having farewell tours to announce their retirement but you may ask yourself… why do they need to retire publicly and not quietly? Well for one, I think “farewell tours” are nothing but a huge cash grab obviously. They know “farewell tours” can be a huge money maker and also ego is another reason.

In my opinion, “farewell tours” are pretty silly and unnecessary. If you’re going to quit then just quit, simple?

Anyhow, I do hope Kiss plays a final show around the Capital Region. Hopefully they got a show booked at the Times Union Center in Albany ’cause that would be cool. Hopefully they do play Albany and if they do, I’m going. I’m not a fan of farewell tours but I’ll go to this one just for Kiss. I’m a huge Kiss fan and always wanted to see them live. I haven’t been to a national concert in a long time and this one would be awesome to go to.

Does the bench press give you a bigger chest??? Yes it does! Don’t listen to the nay sayers!!!

Ya know, one thing I’ve noticed about bodybuilding over the years of my life is that the bench is a pretty debatable workout. The bench press definitely does have a love and hate relationship with everybody. You either like it or you don’t. The bench press maybe the king of all workouts but it isn’t for everybody, I guess. For some reason there are a lot of people that like to bash the bench press and at the same time there are those out there that love it too.

There are lifters on bodybuilding forums, blogs and websites who loves to criticize the bench press. The most common arguments they make about the bench press is that they think it’s overrated and they also make claims that the bench doesn’t give you a strong chest development. I think the reason that I avoided the bench press is because admittedly, I was a bit naive and fell for the critics bullshit about the bench press. They also don’t like the bench press ’cause it gives them injuries a lot and shit.

So they claim that the bench doesn’t give them bigger pecs. Well one reason for that is bad genetics and they could be doing the bench wrong. If you do the bench correctly, you can hit the chest pretty hard. I’ve gotten back into bench pressing full time and been doing it for a few weeks now. I got back into benching ’cause of my first powerlifting meet that I did on Aug. 31st. So for that reason, I’ve gotten back into benching full time.

People think that bench can give you a lot of injuries well, you can get a lot of injuries with all other workouts too. The bench can be easy and safe as long as you know what you’re doing. You can still do bench, you don’t have to lift heavy all the time. Just lift the weights that feel comfortable for you and you don’t have to lift to failure to ensure that you don’t get injured.

Yeah, I know that the bench got a lot of negative flack over the years but it can be a great workout. I’ve grown into loving it. I have felt my chest getting stronger and getting little development.

Ya know, that’s the thing with bodybuilding. Some workouts are gonna get some haters — mostly the bench and the smith machine. I have no problem with the bench and the smith machine. There’s always gonna be crybabies and haters in the bodybuilding industry so just ignore them and do whatever you want to do in the gym.

I think the bench is great now and I think it will help improve my chest greatly. I do want get a big giant chest and the bench could help get me there for sure. Those that trash the bench just don’t know what they’re talking about. Usually lifters who trash the bench don’t have a great chest themselves so just ignore them.

If you want to bench then do it. I’m guilty of talking negative about the bench in the past but no more. I love it now!

I believe I’m getting very close to getting a full six pack… I want to measure my bodyfat percentage pretty soon…

My bodyfat definitely’s gotta be pretty low by now. I’m seeing visible abs, visible chest pecs and my arms are getting pretty veiny. Feels real good. I haven’t measured my bodyfat percentage but I’m going to look into doing that soon. There’s a friend of mine who’s a personal trainer at the gym I go to and I’ll probably get her to do it for me ’cause I’m dying to see where my bodyfat percentage is right now. Last time I measured it was about 16% but that was a long time ago when I first started bodybuilding. I haven’t measured my bodyfat in a long long time and I want to get it done again just to see where it’s at. I’m predicting my bodyfat would be around 10% -14% around there. Maybe I’m even below 10% right now, you just never know. I think I pretty much have a good six pack going which was the goal.

I could get lower in bodyfat, though and I’m working on it. I just made my nutrition a lot more strict again. To lower bodyfat isn’t hard. All you gotta do is eliminate all sugary drinks, eliminate alcohol and just drink water only. I’m going to do just that from now on and avoid Gatorade drinks completely. I’ve also been eating high protein and low carb stuff; however, you don’t wan to avoid carbs completely. You still gotta have complex-carbs like fruits and vegetables. You gotta have your whole wheat too and I get the whole wheat mostly from oatmeal and 100% natural bread which is the only bread I eat (I avoid white bread like the plague, trust me). You gotta have good fats too like natural peanut butter, peanuts like almonds and things like that. I’ve been avoiding ice cream more at least I’m trying to but going to avoid it completely now I think. I love ice cream, I have it as a cheat meal once in a while now but I’m going to ditch it completely, I think.

I’ve also been doing a lot more exercising at the gym than weight training. I’ve been doing yoga, stretching exercises, cardio like the treadmill and elliptical machine. I do a lot of bike riding but I think I’m going to start walking everyday ’cause that would help. Even through the fall and winter, I’m going to start walking outside every day. If it’s too cold out then I’ll go to the gym to do treadmill or elliptical. I already do a lot of walking but I think I’m going to do it everyday, I think.

I’m working very hard to become the best shape of my life and just about there, I think. Got more work to do and I’m working on it. Building muscle and losing fat is my goal.

When it comes to nutrition, I’m not going vegan, I’m not doing keto diets, I’m not doing weightwatchers and all that garbage. You don’t need to pay a lot of money for food to get in shape. I keep my healthy nutrition very simple. I’m not a recipe kind of guy where people make silly things like protein cakes, protein pies and protein brownies and all that crap. You get my point?

I’m the kind of guy who wants to stay in shape all year round. I’m not the bulk and cutting guy like a lot of bodybuilders are nowadays. I don’t want to go through that method.

I love working out. It’s my 2nd passion other than music. It’s nice to get all of this positive feedback of what I do. When you get a built and jacked physique and successful at your goals then you need to stay humble about it. There’s no reason to go around acting like you’re a tough guy ’cause you’re jacked, ya know? There’s so many bodybuilders out there with a cocky attitude just because they’re jacked. That’s not me. Just be humble, stay cool and not take yourself so seriously.

I have more workout videos on my Instagram page if you’re interested in seeing them. Enjoy:
