Showing off my 14 inch arm!!!

I recently picked up a cheap body tape measure because when you’re into fitness/bodybuilding, it is very important to measure your muscles on your body once in a while. I’m going to start doing this. Will keep a record of this stuff to keep track of my progress. Can you read how much that arm is? Yes, that’s right, 14 inches. There’s the pic for proof.

My final picks for “Expendables 2” casting…

Sly already reported that the idea for “Expendables 2” there is going to be a whole new different cast of action guys. I know I made a few picks before, but this is my final and last pick. My idea of casting for “Expendables 2”.

My picks are here…

Cast for “Expendables” group…(other than Sylvester Stallone)

  • Kurt Russell
  • Carl Weathers
  • Dwayne Johnson
  • Quinton Rampage Jackson
  • Vin Diesel
  • Mark Wahlberg
  • Chow Yun Fat

I didn’t list Van Damme ’cause everyone knows that Sly and JCVD don’t get along too well, they aren’t on the same page so don’t ever expect Sly and JCVD to work together any time soon. I picked Carl Weathers ’cause it would be amazing to see him and Sly team up again. Chow Yun Fat for a martial arts guy. I don’t want Jackie Chan in this ’cause that guy is overrated.

Expendables babes:

  • Michelle Rodriguez
  • Scarlett Johansonn
  • Zoe Saldana
  • Catherine Zeta Jones or Nicole Kidman (for women that are aging)

For Expendables villains:

  • Liam Neeson
  • Tyler Mane
  • John Travolta

I think John Travolta would be the good main villain for Expendables 2. Sly and John worked together before, it’ll be great to see them re-team as well.

For special cameo appearances as they did with Willis and Schwarzenegger, I would pick any of these guys here:

  • Clint Eastwood
  • Al Pacino
  • Ed Harris
  • Robert Deniro

Enjoy!

Film Review: The Expendables

Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Eric Roberts, and more.

Directed by: Sylvester Stallone

Yes, so I finally got my chance to see, “The Expendables” today. I didn’t do much shopping for myself at the mall today. All I bought was Dave Mustaine’s new book, that was about it. Anyway, on with my review…

Plot/Synopsis: A group of Mercernaries has been deployed to Somalia to stop pirates from killing hostages. After that brief incident, Barney Ross (Sly’s character) meets with Church (Willis) and Trench (Schwarzenegger) to give Barney a mission that he needs to take the Expendables group to Vilena (a fictional South American country), to take down a dictator.  However, the dictator has henchmen to protect him and the Expendables must fight there way to take down the dictator.

My thoughts on the film? It was nothing mind blowing and nothing amazing. Just your typical popcorn action movie. The plot was simple and kind of silly. The dialogue spoken in the movie was short and simple like most Sly movies are. The writing wasn’t the best, but I loved the action. The action scenes were a fun ride. While I did enjoy the movie a lot, I had a few disappointments.

Lets get the disappointments out of the way before I start talking about what I liked about the movie:

  • No sex scenes and no female nudity – Ok, I know Sly’s goal with the movie was that he wanted this film to be for strictly men. There were hot babes in the movie, yes, there was Giselle Itie, Charisma Charpenter and Mickey Rourke had a hot blonde chick in the flick, but there were no make out scenes at all. No naked tits & ass, no nothing. Time out Sly, if you’re going to make a movie for men, consider a few sex scenes and naked boobies! It’s not a complete man film without that stuff! Sorry Sly, consider this for the sequel please?
  • Jet Li had very little screen time – Jet Li’s character, Yin Yang was the ultimate bad ass out of all the characters! It’s a shame he wasn’t used much. Jet Li was used for the shooting scene on a truck and he had a fight scene with Dolph Lundgren, that was it.
  • Jason Statham had too much screen time more than any other character. It seemed that this film was more about Jason’s character, Lee Christmas, he was the leading character and not Barney Ross?
  • Blood was CGI. The blood in the movie was so fake and cartoonish looking.
  • Eric Roberts wasn’t a good villain for this movie. I was kind of bored of that role.

What I liked about the film?

  • The Arnold, Bruce and Sly scene.
  • The action was pretty good. Plenty of explosions, gun shooting, and car chases.
  • Stone Cold’s villain character was better than Eric Roberts. Stone Cold was the real badass. It made you really want to hate the guy. It reminded me back when Stone Cold was heel back in his WWE days. Stone Cold didn’t talk much in the movie either, he just stared at the camera throughout most of the movie and when he did speak he seemed like he really was in his Stone Cold character. Awesome!
  • Sly goes shirtless in the tattoo scene with Mickey Rourke. Sly didn’t go shirtless in “Rambo”, but he did in this movie. Sly’ is in impressive shape for a guy his age.
  • Seeing Dolph Lundgren on the big screen again. It was so weird seeing Dolph on the big screen again but awesome at the same time. I’m very happy to see Dolph back where he belongs. Hopefully this film will help Dolph get more big screen movies and no more straight to DVD. I always liked Dolph. It was good to see him and Sly team again. Dolph’s acting in this film was pretty decent too.

Not a bad flick, but it could use some improvements. Hopefully Sly will make the sequel better!

Score for “The Expendables” = *** (3 stars as in “good”)

Brock’s thoughts about President Obama allowing a Mosque to be built near Ground Zero…

President Obama is under hot water and is in a bit of controversy in the news lately. Why? You all know why, it’s because he plans on building a Mosque near Ground Zero in NYC. He’s defended it by saying, “This is America, and Muslims deserve their freedom to do what they please”.

Sarah Palin doesn’t like the idea:

This is something John McCain wouldn’t be in favor for either. I also think George W. Bush wouldn’t allow this.

Obama is looking to be more of a terrorist supporter every time. Everybody says George W. Bush and John McCain are the worst? To be honest with you, I have no problem with those two guys. It’s Obama that is the worst politician ever. He’s ten times worse than Bush and McCain.

“The Expendables” is Sly’s biggest opening weekend film ever!!!

Check it out:

https://secure.boxofficemojo.com/people/chart/?view=Writer&id=sylvesterstallone.htm

Turns out that “The Expendables” ended up being Sly’s most successful film ever for the opening weekend in box office mojo. Well, look like we’re definitely getting a sequel on the way for sure.

I still haven’t seen the movie yet, I plan to see it tomorrow afternoon.

I’m very happy for Sly. He’s worked so hard for his entire film career to get a huge hit and he finally has one. I bet Sly is out of his mind and speechless right now. He’s probably celebrating his ass off with his wife and kids at home.

We’ll wait to see how this film does world wide when this film hits overseas internationally. This is really amazing for Sly. For years, muscle guys in action movies has always been an easy target by haters and media. This time muscle guys in action movies is a success. A lot of people didn’t think Sly could make a hit movie on his own with him writing and directing, but he certainly did prove everyone wrong! Take that Sly haters!

Thought: Bret “The Hitman” Hart also might turn heel and join Nexus tonight at Summerslam…

Other than John Cena might be the possible WWE superstar to turn on Team WWE and join Nexus tonight at Summerslam, there is also another possibility. Bret “The Hitman” Hart could also turn heel and join Nexus to become the group’s leader.

I know you’re thinking, “Would never happen, Bret is too much of a legend”. True, but think about why it would make sense if Bret becomes Nexus leader.

What is the reason? Simply because it would be Bret’s way of getting back at Vince McMahon and WWE. Bret could continue to feud with Vince with Bret being leader of Nexus. Vince and the WWE seems to always bring “The Hitman” down, so Bret joining Nexus would be his payback. Vince is always saying, “Bret screwed Bret”, Bret joining Nexus would give Bret more power over WWE. The Nexus needs that star power leader like I said before, Bret might be the perfect choice since Hulk Hogan was leader of NWO. See what I mean?

I think Bret turning heel would be interesting. Bret would grow tired of Vince trying to end his career, so Bret joins Nexus to try and end WWE. If Bret joins Nexus, that would make Vince return to TV to try and battle Nexus with Bret being leader. See how it would all makes sense? If Bret is leader, it would bring Triple H back to feud with him too.

I will be watching “Summerslam” tonight just for something to watch on TV. I’m sure it will be a good ppv. Maybe the RAW anonymous GM will be revealed tonight too? We’ll wait and see.

Report: All 6 Star Wars movies coming to Blu Ray in Fall of 2011…

Yes, that’s right Star Wars fans! In the fall of 2011, not this upcoming fall, but the fall after, all 6 Star Wars films will be hitting Blu Ray.

http://www.collider.com/2010/08/14/star-wars-trilogy-blu-ray-fall-2011-george-lucas-jon-stewart/

While I’m more of a Star Trek fan than Star Wars, I’ll probably end up getting this. Simply because, I am also curious on what the Star Wars films will look and sound like on Blu Ray. I’m wondering if there is a big improvement than regular DVD.
