I'm a musician, singer/songwriter, blogger, writer, poet, bodybuilder, movie lover, music lover, video gamer, history/political buff, conservative/republican, etc. I like to do a lot of things.
Everywhere on the internet, you see people talking about this new pop artist named, Ke$ha. I’m like, what? Scratching my head. So I went to youtube to listen to that “Tik Tok” song, out of curiosity. I listened to it at least a few times. I’m like, what the fuck, dude. How can people support this crap? This genre, female electronica/pop seems to be a new trend in the music industry today. Over the years of music, genres changes. Rock n’ roll tries to take over the mainstream of today’s music, but rock fails because the world is so hung up on female pop. I don’t like Lady Gaga, don’t like Rihanna anymore and here comes another one, Ke$ha. I think it’s lame they put a dollar sign in her name. This is another manufactured pop star made by the industry that is not even real.
I would have to say that “Tik Tok” is probably the worst song I ever heard. I hope Ke$ha’s music career fails fast. Her singing is not great and the music is not great overall. She sucks. It’s fact, not an opinion, FACT! People who buy her album is just wasting their money.
People should be paying attention to real music artists like Wilco or Neil Young, someone that has real talent but nope, these high school and college kids would rather listen to kiddie pop and rap instead. Why do people listen to this Ke$ha garbage? It’s more evidence that people don’t know what good music is anymore.
Former WWE superstar Ludvig Borga (real name: Tony Halme) has passed away. Many may not know him, but the wrestling community would know who he is. He wrestled in the WWE from 1993-1994. He was popular that year in WWE for his famous feud with Tatanka. Tony Halme is from Finland. Not sure of the cause of his death, but according to wikipedia, he had a lot of problems in his life. In 2006, he was in a mental hospital for the insane. He also had a problem with alcohol, drugs, and steroids. He also had a domestic dispute with his wife as he shot a gun in his apartment while she watched. He was also a contestant for American Gladiators. He is from Helsinski, Finland. He was 47 years old.
In that video, I posted several blog posts down where Jean Claude Van Damme explains at a press conference on why he turned town the “Expendables” movie, Jean Claude has been getting a lot of hate on the internet about that video. A lot of fans accuse Jean Claude of acting like an asshole by making fun of Sly’s speaking voice and disrespecting him. Many fans accuse Jean Claude of trying to make Sylvester Stallone look like a greedy rich guy. In this video, Jean Claude explains the reason he turned it down is because, Jean Claude was asking Sly what’s his character and more information about the role he was playing. Sly replied back, “I’m going to make you a star and you’ll get rich”, in this video. So that upset Van Damme which forced him to turn the project down.
Who’s in the right? Is it Sylvester Stallone? Or is it Jean Claude Van Damme? I think Van Damme is doing the right thing here…and here is why.
When you’re a famous Hollywood actor, most actors take their careers so seriously. Actors want to make sure the role they’re playing that is right for them, plus they want to make their paychecks worthy. They don’t care if you’re Sylvester Stallone, Steven Spielberg or Clint Eastwood. Actors will turn the roles down if they don’t like the story and not giving enough information on the film.
Jean Claude has nothing negative against Sylvester Stallone. He made it clear at the end of the video, that Jean Claude respects him as an actor, writer and director. Also around this time Jean Claude was asked by Sly to star in the movie, I’m sure Sly hasn’t yet written a character for Van Damme for the script. Maybe Sly was going to write up a character for him after he agreed to do the film, but Sly didn’t give him enough information, so Van Damme said no.
Jean Claude may not have a successful career in his Hollywood life, he may have had a few huge blockbusters such as “Bloodsport”, “Universal Soldier” and maybe a few others…but Van Damme’s latest film, “JCVD” was a success in the indie film industry. “JCVD” did well overseas in box office and the film even did decent in the U.S. as well. I like Van Damme always had. Maybe Van Damme doesn’t have a lot of Blockbuster hits ’cause he doesn’t want to be a blockbuster star? I see him just doing it for the love of acting, not caring if the movie is a hit or a failure. Van Damme may have poked fun at Sly’s speaking voice in that video but hey, who cares. A lot of people make fun of Sly’s speaking voice ’cause it’s funny sounding. That’s one of the main reason’s why I like Sly ’cause his speaking voice is unique. Never heard anyone talk like that before.
My point is that Van Damme did nothing wrong. He has his right for an opinion and he has the right to do what he pleases. He maybe kind of an ass in that video, I agree, but so what. Van Damme is just being a profesional and an actor. Sly’s idea of this movie was to have a bunch of bad ass action stars all in the same film. I’m sure Sly tried asking many other action stars to be a part of this film like Kurt Russell, Jackie Chan, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, and many others, but I’m sure their reasons for turning the film down was much worse than Van Damme’s.
So this whole Van Damme thing isn’t such a big deal at all and I don’t see why action movie fans are so fed up. Even some die hard fans of Jean Claude are upset at him over the video. If Van Damme is happy doing straight to video movies and indie films, that’s where he wants to be. I thought “JCVD” was a great film and yes, it is a box office success. Look it up in boxofficemojo for yourself. I also respect Van Damme a whole lot ’cause he’s one of the most talented athlete’s than any action star in history. Van Damme has years of martial arts experience, a great bodybuilder who’s still in great shape and all that.
Van Damme is just being honest and keeping things real when it comes to films. I just think action fans took Van Damme’s comments out of context and it was blown out of proportion.
Well, here it is, the first teaser of the “A-team” movie. My thoughts? It’s look great, count me in the theater for this one definitely as I am a massive fan of the TV show. My only complaint is Rampage Jackson being Mr. T when I agree with everyone else, B.A. Baracus can only be played by Mr. T and no one else. Quinton Jackson just doesn’t work and he’s not the right fit. Other than that, I’m happy with the rest of the cast. Liam Neeson is perfect for Hannibal. Bradley Cooper is perfect for Faceman and Sharlto Copley is perfect for Murdoch which all three are an exact match. Nobody can copy Mr. T though. The film overall looks good. Looks like a fun action ride. Definitely excited for this one!
Actor and film director, Bill Paxton, revealed that he wants to do, “Twister the Sequel” but make it in 3D. He explains that he was inspired for the sequel by the famous Tri-State Tornado of 1925. He wants the next film to be a lot more darker and scarier than the first one, but still have some humor in it. In order for the sequel to happen, he must get the okay from Steven Spielberg. Since Spielberg was the one in charge of putting the first one together. Spielberg didn’t direct the first one, he was one of the producers.
Paxton didn’t say if he wanted to direct the sequel but he definitely sounds like he’s down with starring the leading role again. I think he wants to direct the sequel himself from the sounds of it in this interview. He should be the one directing it as well.
A “Twister” sequel sounds like a great idea. Make it more action packed with cool special effects and badass sounds effects!
Hope a sequel happens ’cause the first “Twister” is an entertaining film.
Bad news for the tweens. The Disney channel revealed some shocking news that they will be cancelling the popular hit TV show, “Hannah Montana” which made Miley Cyrus a huge star. Although the show, delivers high ratings, Disney has not yet stated the reason they are cancelling it. My guess is economy issues? They can’t afford it? Why would they end such a successful show when Miley is a huge role model for children and tweens? Don’t knnow. Typical Disney. People are starting to realize that Disney are greedy bastards.
Ever wonder what it would be like if Elvis Presley was still alive today? I think myself that all the time. What would Elvis be doing today if he is still alive? I’m no psychic, of course but, I can see him still being the same Elvis Presley. Still doing the things he always did. I’m sure he would still be making records, touring, and making movies like he always had when he was alive back then.
If he was still around making music, what genre would he be doing? I still see him doing the same mix of rock n’ roll, country and gospel…but with today’s music technology, his music today would have sounded a little bit different.
If Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King and Neil Young are still rockin’ and rollin’ today, then Elvis would be too.
I’m sure Elvis would be doing collaborations with many music artists from the past, especially with Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty who were all massive admirers.
I’m sure Elvis will still be dominating the Billboard and winning a bunch of Grammy’s, and all that. It’s an interesting thing to think about what it would be like if Elvis was still alive. The world would certainly be different if he was. Especially the music world.
When talking about egos in music…fans would think the usual stuff…the dude from Nickelback, the guys in Oasis, and Metallica. You have to look at reality. Even if you’re a huge fan of the music artist you enjoy, you have to admit that they have an ego problem.
Here are my choices on the biggest egos in the music industry:
U2 – A lot of people like ’em, but you have to admit, they have quite a problem. Doing all these stadium shows, talking about Africa too much, shutting out fans for a free show in Berlin by creating a wall around them, etc. Sorry Bono, you dudes top the list.
Trent Reznor of the Nine Inch Nails – Popular band, but you can’t seem to see the fact that Trent is a huge douche. Did you realize that he just ditched all you fans by quitting live shows? He’s only 45 years old and he’s quitting live shows? Don’t worry. Trent will bring the Nine Inch Nails back to the live stage when they get an opportunity they can’t pass up.
John Mayer – Is he a musician or a celebrity? Which is it, John?
Jennifer Hudson – Is she getting all these opportunities because some of her family members were murdered? I used to feel sorry for her and used to like her, but I don’t care anymore.
Joe Satriani – When he sued Coldplay accusing the band of stealing “Viva La Vida” from one of his songs, I think that gives the Satch, an ego award.
Robert Plant – Love the guy, but he has a huge ego problem, I’ll admit that. I’ll never forget his responses everytime he shot down a Led Zeppelin tour.
Rihanna – She’s been acting different.
Courtney Love – Need I say more? Is she even a musician?
Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith – Ever since Steven Tyler’s fall, these two have been acting like huge egos in the media lately. I call Joe Perry being the BIGGER ego than Steven. Geez dude, who cares if Steven is having problems with drugs or alcohol. What bands out there doesn’t have that problem? They all do. If Steven wants back in the band, let him.
Dave Mustaine of Megadeth – Everyone talks about Metallica having a huge ego problem, but I disagree. I don’t see the boys in Metallica having an ego at all but one guy that has a huge ego is Dave Mustaine. I’ve read plenty of his interviews through Guitar World magazine and they are hilarious. He’s kind of a delusional guy living in his own world but Dave is a talented songwriter and guitar player though, I’ll give him that.
Look like Conan O’ Brien being host of the “Tonight Show” may not last long after all. NBC is thinking about booting him. The reason is, low ratings, what else? Jay Leno will be getting back his 11:30 slot after the Olympics is over with.
My question is, why is NBC always sucking Jay Leno’s dick? I think Conan is way funnier than Leno. NBC will never fire Leno ’cause Leno is too powerful and richer than Conan is.
If NBC fires Conan, then that would suck. Conan and Max Weinberg’s band all agreed to fly to L.A., California to do the show, finding out that they could get fired, what a waste of trip?
I”m on Team Conan. NBC selfish greedy bastards, who has the hots for Leno.
