Thought: Maybe Stephen King was just joking about Stephenie Meyer? Maybe we’re not picking up his sarcasm…

After thinking about it a while and after reading Stephen King’s rants about Stephenie again, maybe he’s just joking and fooling around. Maybe he really does respect Stephenie and the work she does, I think we’re not (including me) picking up his sarcasm. He’s always had this weird sense of humor when doing interviews with the media.

If Stephenie wasn’t a good writer, then her books wouldn’t get published at all. I think Stephen knows it. That’s how I think he could possibly be kidding around and making fun of her a bit.

There are hints of sarcasm we’re not picking up in his rants, here, I’ll quote them: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29001524/

“It’s exciting and it’s thrilling and it’s not particularly threatening because it’s not overtly sexual…” – Stephen King on Twilight…and here, ““Both Rowling and Meyer, they’re speaking directly to young people… The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good.”

As you can see he’s mixing both positive and negative thoughts about Twilight.

Maybe in a few day’s he’ll come out and say, “I’m only kidding when I say Stephenie is a bad writer, I actually love her.”

WWE to put their divas posing nude for Playboy to an end???

In case you wrestling fans haven’t noticed, WWE hasn’t had a Diva pose for Playboy in such a long time. The picture above is the latest Diva posing for Playboy way back in the April issue of 2008.

Why? Rumours swirling around the wrestling websites WWE could stop having Divas pose nude for Playboy for good.

Reasons being, that WWE wants their RAW, ECW, and Smackdown shows to be more children oriented like it used to be in the 80’s and early 90’s of wrestling. WWE wants to stop writing storylines and matches aimed toward the adults. They want children to start watching WWE again.

Which is a great thing they are doing because I’m sure that everyone watched wrestling as a young child whether you still watch it or not. Notice that John Cena has turned Hulk Hogan like and Randy Orton is starting to become more like Stone Cold/The Rock.

Thing is, WWE wants the next Wrestlemania for the young children to enjoy, so WWE is quickly trying it’s best for the shows to go PG. For that, this might be the reason that WWE might quit doing Playboy for the Divas.

WWE deserves to be popular and mainstream again like it was in the 80’s and 90’s, so they are trying their best to be WWE old school again. Children are not allowed to buy Playboy of course, but think how their parents would react if they were still having Divas posing nude. WWE wants to avoid an outrage by parents, and they don’t want to turn parents off by forcing children to switch the channels and not taking them to live WWE shows.

While I’m a fan of Playboy magazine, I like reading it, I think it’s a good idea that WWE should stop having Divas posing. Children deserve to be WWE fans again, go back to old school WWE the way it was before!

Oh yeah, speaking of WWE, I will be going to Smackdown on March 1st at the Glens Falls Civic Center, I’ll be ordering tickets this weekend or next week. I haven’t been to a WWE show in a long time and now that WWE is performing closer, I’ll be able to go. Glens Falls, the hometown of Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Hacksaw is still performing in WWE today so you know he will make an appearance, maybe even give him a main event match like WWE always do to a wrestler when a show is in their hometown. Can’t wait to go to the show. I’ll bring my digital camera and take pictures of the superstars in action, I’m gonna try to get good seats for that. Yes, cameras are allowed at WWE shows, people take pics all the time at wrestling shows. Looking forward to it.

Report: Kevin Lima will bring “Candyland” to the big screen…

First Ridley Scott has been confirmed to direct the “Monopoly” movie as part of the huge deal with Hasbro making movies with studios, next here comes “Candyland” getting the greenlight by Universal Pictures. Universal has signed Kevin Lima to direct and Etan Cohen to write “Candyland” the board game about to make a live action film.

Kevin Lima is most well known for helming Disney’s “Enchanted” that starred Amy Adams. There is no plot/synopsis for “Candyland” yet, but Universal plans to make it a comedy and family oriented.

I’m betting your money that Lima will get Amy Adams to star the female lead in “Candyland”. Knowing how Lima did a wonderful job with “Enchanted”, I’m sure he won’t dissapoint in “Candyland” as well. He’ll put smiles on people’s faces in “Candyland” just like he did with “Enchanted”. I can see why Universal would want him. Lima is a perfect choice! Bring it on!

Report: So Faith Hill and Jen Hudson gets slammed for lip synching at Superbowl, everyone thinks Springsteen didn’t???

Another reason to call the Springsteen performance at the Superbowl an embarrassment. This article confirms that Springsteen sang live for real, but the E Street band were fake playing their instruments.

Wouldn’t surprise me if all Springsteen concerts were played like this.

Report: Bruce Springsteen ends Taylor Swift’s no. 1 Billboard streak…

Bruce Springsteen proves once again that he can never be beat by any artist or band everytime the boss puts a new album out. The Boss puts Taylor Swift’s album to shame by ending her 8 week streak in the Billboard Top 200.

Billboard reports:

No surprise to me, the Boss is always the Billboard king. Lets see how long “Working On a Dream” album will last as no. 1. “Working on a Dream” is a great album though, I think it’s better than “Magic” and “The Rising”.

Report: Al Pacino is Shakespeare’s “King Lear”…

Al Pacino, the former “Scarface” and “Godfather” star, is set to star as “King Lear”, the title film which is an adaptation of one of William Shakespeare’s plays. Pacino playing Shakespeare characters is nothing new to him, as Pacino has played many Shakespeare roles from film to the theatre stage. The film will be directed by Michael Radford, he also wrote the script.

Variety Reports:

This might be a good opportunity for Al Pacino to get an Oscar nod in the future if this film is made right.

Pacino is one of my favorite all time actors.

Report: Robert Plant admits Led Zeppelin reuniting would screw up the band’s legacy…

After many months of Robert Plant constantly denying to re-join Led Zeppelin, saying that he’s committed with his project with Alison Krauss, Robert Plant speaks out on the real reason why Led Zeppelin wouldn’t reunite for a tour and new album. Simply because he feels it would be difficult for him and the rest of Led Zeppelin to bring the past into the now. He also feels that the Led Zep reunion would screw their legacy.

More on it here:

Hmmm, I’ve been saying something like this in my blog for the past months as well. Good for Robert, he’s smart about this. They played a good final show at the O2 in 2007 Dec. 10th, let that be Led Zeppelin’s final show and that’s the way it should be. Hopefully this will get people to stop talking about Led Zeppelin reuniting. I’m glad it’s not going to happen. I don’t want their legacy ruined either.
