Do The Gym The way You want to anD The Way you nEed to, Ignore Everybody!

Ya know something, this has been getting on my mind lately and it needs to get off my chest. You’ve been working out in the gym for a long time. Your goals are to be muscular, strong or whatever but keep in mind that not everybody will be supportive of your goals and dreams. You will also get many criticizers and haters.

The thing that I love the most and it never ceases to amaze me is that people who don’t go to the gym at all, act like know it alls, giving you all kinds of lifting advice and teaching you how to do things. Yeah, you do know what you’re doing in the gym and you know how to take care of yourself but keep in mind that there will be people who will be coming around that won’t think that way about you. You got lifting experience, a lot of it but you’ll get know it alls telling you that you can’t lift heavy, telling you that you’re doing too much when you’re not, etc. You get the idea, you’re gonna get all kinds of misinformed people giving you “gym advice” which is a problem.

You want to improve your life by going to the gym and eating right. You want to change your eating habits for the better and get healthy but people will criticize that too. It’s crazy, ya know?

The reason people are like that is ’cause they are mad at you ’cause you are doing things that they can’t do so they do this out of jealousy really.

Really, though, you shouldn’t take any lifting advice and gym advice from anybody… well maybe you can take form advice from experienced lifters and pro trainers maybe okay but even they can be misinformed on a bunch of things so be careful there.

It’s funny that everyone wants to act like lifting experts and they always want to act like I’m a novice lifter. I’ve been doing bodybuilding for at least 15 years now and been doing powerlifting for a couple of years so you think I know what I’m doing by now… but nope, people want to continue to act like I don’t know anything.

I’ve always done things my own way and the way I want to do ’em. You should too. I know what I’m doing. I’ve researched lifting for years and if I need form advice, I’ll look it up in youtube or on bodybuilding.com or something, that’s what I usually do. I’m still learning bodybuilding and powerlifting.

Yeah, I do take good form seriously and I know enough that you shouldn’t be lifting weights that you can’t handle but man, people continue to act like I don’t know anything.

That’s the thing with the bodybuilding and gym world, people are gonna be weird and crazy for sure so that’s why you gotta ignore everybody and do your own thing only. Gym is freedom, that’s the beauty of it.

Spencer Elden aka Nirvana Baby suing Nirvana for “Nevermind” album cover after repeatedly re-creating it himself over the years…

Well this one is really strange… Spencer Elden famous as the naked baby on the legendary Nirvana “Nevermind” album cover is now suing the band and calling it child porn. I call it strange ’cause this the same guy who repeatedly re-created it over the years himself under the pool and this guy also had plenty of interviews with the music press talking about the album cover like he had no problem with it. He’s now asking $150,000 from every defendant.

What’s with the sudden flip-flop?

https://www.deseret.com/2021/8/25/22640120/nirvana-sued-by-nevermind-baby-alleges-album-cover

He had plenty of time to sue the band if he didn’t like it, why he did he wait for years to do it? I guess he’s desperate for money and attention. Is he in financial trouble? Sounds like it.

Kurt Cobain is not around to defend himself but I’m sure Dave and Krist might have something to say about this soon. Blame the parents for allowing it to happen. According to some info about Nirvana, Spencer’s father was a friend of the photographer who took the legendary photo so blame him for it. How come the Dad isn’t name in the lawsuit? Oh, that’s right you can’t blame your own family.

This lawsuit will go nowhere. The judge is gonna throw it out. Just watch.

RIP: Charlie Watts 1941- 2021

I was never much of a fan of the Rolling Stones over the years. Never bought their studio albums at all. I just own a 2 disc “Greatest Hits” album by them, that’s all. I would hate to be a “be a fan after they die” type but I think I’m gonna start buying some Rolling Stones studio albums. Never really bought their studio albums ’cause their music wasn’t really my cup of tea in the past but they’re really growing on me.

Charlie Watts is definitely a master drummer and definitely the goat rock drummer of all time. He’s been a member of the Stones since the sixties since their very first self-titled album titled, “The Rolling Stones” in 1964. The Rolling Stones has a total of 25 studio albums and Charlie recorded on every single one of them, I believe. Charlie’s been loyal and committed to the band and been with them until he died.

Charlie definitely loved playing the drums for sure ’cause each time you saw him behind the kit, he’s got this smile on his face every time like you see above.

Every musician can learn from Charlie is that you don’t give up what you do and you keep playing music until you die. Charlie did that and he died what he loved doing for sure.

What is my favorite Rolling Stones song with Charlie drumming on? Well everybody’s gonna say all the biggest hits but I’m gonna name a song that no one probably would have heard which is a song called “Thru and Thru” which can you hear through that show “The Sopranos”. It’s a song that Keith Richards sings the lead vocals on but man, Charlie’s drumming is so killer in that tune. I think it’s the Stone’s most underrated song and you would get that song off the album, “Voodoo Lounge” which I think would be the first Stones album I’m planning on getting. It is a beautiful song, though and Keith’s singing and guitar playing is pretty amazing on it as well.

We lost another great one. Now we gotta know whether or not the Stones will continue as a band… continue making records and touring but I doubt it… it’s pretty likely the band is done ’cause Charlie is the Stones.

Happy Birthday Vince MCmahon, Thanks For giving us Wrestling…

You can love this man or hate him all you want but Vince McMahon aka the CEO/Chairman/owner of the WWE is such a genius and a legend. Us wrestling fans wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for Vince.

Yeah, pro wrestling has been around long before the old WWF but Vince definitely helped make wrestling more mainstream and popular. Without Vince, we wouldn’t have gotten WCW, ECW, TNA Impact, ROH, NWA.. and most of all we wouldn’t have gotten AEW as well.

Vince gave us wrestling, love him or hate him all you want to.

Look, I don’t agree with everything Vince does… I’m not a fan of his booking and writing myself but the man is a genius, I respect him so much. On top of that, Vince McMahon was a helluva performer himself during the Attitude Era/Ruthless Aggression era when he played this evil boss character, Mr. McMahon. I think that’s another reason why a lot of us respect him ’cause he was a great performer in the ring in his own right and he even had a few great wrestling matches himself too believe it or not. Vince made himself a wrestler and performer ’cause he was drawn into it after the Montreal Screwjob.

I’ve been a fan of WWE ever since I was a kid. How did I get turned on to wrestling? Well, I had cousins that were obsessive fans and used to watch it with them. I still watch wrestling even to this day. Sometimes I do take long breaks from WWE when they get bad but I continue to watch.

I don’t think Vince himself realizes how much he’s respected by a lot of us. All those internet wrestling smarts will never admit that they would never be around today if it wasn’t for Vince. All those “smart” fans, ya know?

Everyone wants to see Vince step down and retire but it’s not gonna happen. Vince is gonna run WWE until he dies, trust me.

Nobody wants to admit that Vince is a hard working guy. From all the stories I’ve heard from behind the scenes people of WWE, Vince doesn’t sleep much… I think he has insomnia pretty much and he’s a workhorse. All he does is work for WWE. There are times when he doesn’t work and takes a little break but when he’s not working he hits the gym and I read that Vince usually hits the gym over night. Vince is a heavy lifter in the gym with video proof. A guy who is 76 now and hitting the gym hard and heavy. If you continue to hate on Vince after seeing that, you are insane!

Happy birthday Vince. Thanks for all you do!

Powerlifting training is challenging, I gotta learn how to program better and I’m researching it now…

Powerlifting and strength training can be challenging and tricky… that’s why I love it so much. When you’re doing strength training that requires heavy lifting like 1 – 5 reps. Have you ever lifted a number that you thought you could successfully smash at one time but the next week you try that same number for some reason you can’t do it? It’s not that you’re losing strength and gains, no. What’s happening here is you’re CNS is getting worn out. You need to take a recovery week every now and then… known as something what they all call “de-load” week.

What I’m reading through powerlifting sites is that powerlifters usually train heavy for 3 weeks and then they either take a de-load week or a week off to recover. I’m trying to figure things out.

Ya know…. lifting heavy week after week very frequently isn’t good. The reason it isn’t good is ’cause it could lead to frying out your CNS, could lead to overtraining and worse could lead to multiple injuries. If you ever wonder why you’re getting injured so much then this is probably why… lifting heavy week after week. Yeah, you gotta leave your ego at the door and take your lighter weeks. Do like 2 or 3 weeks of heavy lifting and then take a de-load. I’m reading about this stuff now.

I was able to smash a 310 lb. deadlift a few weeks ago but can’t do that number again for a while. I know I’m capable of smashing over 300 lb. deadlifts now which was my goal.

Now I gotta start improving my squat and bench numbers, goal is to get over 150 lbs. for both of those lifts… maybe even try to get over 200 lbs for both of those if I can.

I love powerlifting training. I haven’t competed in a local powerlifting meet in a long time and I wanna do it again. I wasn’t able to ’cause of covid but hopefully Albany Strength does another one soon. They haven’t announced a new one yet.

Watched WWE Summerslam last night, it was pretty good… Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar finally returns.

Well I guess now that live crowds are back and WWE is back to doing arena/stadiums shows, they’re back to do 3 or 4 hour ppvs. I actually enjoyed Summerslam last night. Not the best but pretty good.

Match of the night was Edge vs. Seth Rollins… I’m getting impressed with Edge more and more. Used to not be much of an Edge fan in the old days but nowadays he’s winning my respect.

The other good matches were RKBro vs. Aj Styles/Omos, Drew McinTyre vs. Jinder Mahall, Alexa Bliss vs. Eva Marie and Damien Priest vs. Sheamus were pretty solid matches.

Disappointed with Bianca getting squashed by Becky like that. You think Bianca and Becky would put on a helluva match together a longer one but ended up being a squash. Anyhow, I can see Bianca challenging Becky for a re-match and WWE will give us a better match with them too for the next ppv, I’m sure.

Goldberg vs. Bobby was actually okay… I was extremely surprised that Goldberg lasted longer in the ring than we all thought. Most Goldberg matches are very quick but he actually did a little more this time.

Had a feeling the Usos and Roman were gonna retain their titles. Brock will end up taking the belt from Roman real soon and that’s when Roman’s “Head of the Table” group will split. It’s looking like Brock will feud with Paul Heyman which will be real interesting. This storyline will be like why did Paul Heyman stab Brock in the back while he was gone? It’s gonna go down something like that.

It was a pretty good show and WWE slowly improving.

Onlyfans banning pornographic content but still allowing nudes… um, what???

The site onlyfans has been catching a lot of buzz for a long while. What is it? It’s a content subscription service made by London, UK… where you have to pay to see people’s stuff.

The site became extremely popular and blew up for so-called, “sex-workers” ’cause the site allowed nudity and hardcore pornographic content. Yes, X-rated sex videos and pics used to be allowed but not anymore. The over explicit content on onlyfans are now banned on the site but nudity is still allowed.

https://www.engadget.com/onlyfans-sexually-explicit-content-ban-184819350.html

In my opinion, “onlyfans” is an evil website and should have never been created. So people think that posting X-Rated and pornographic stuff onlyfans and paying for it to see it as “sex work”??? No not at all.

In my opinion and sticking with it, I think “onlyfans” is prostitution, really. Why would you want to do that? Force people to pay to see you naked and have sex with someone?

Even if you still use the site to not post sexual content and use it for “clean” stuff, it’s still evil.

Those that join the site to do “sex work” or not, are just desperate for money and that’s it. They don’t care about you. It’s just amazing that people would pay a lot of money to see only fans garbage.

Selling your bodies like that is just wrong anyways. There are other ways to make a few extra bucks you don’t need to do “onlyfans”. Have some respect for yourself.

44 years ago today, music world lost Elvis Presley…

44 years ago today, we lost one of the greats. I can see why Elvis meant to so many. I don’t have a lot of Elvis music in my collection but I have a few Elvis albums. Just a Greatest Hits and a few live albums, that’s all I think. Yes, I am a fan like most. I definitely would love to get more Elvis on vinyl for sure.

While I like hearing his rock n’ roll stuff, I was more into the ballads ’cause that’s where his talent really shined.

RIP King…

This Johnny Cash quote explains his addiction with studio recording…

That quote is very inspiring. You want to know why Johnny Cash has a very large album discography over the years, this is why. The man in black was very addicted and obsessed with the studio. A lot of musicians and bands only record in the studio when they need to but with Johnny Cash, that was all he ever did.

According to his album discography, he has a total of 67 studio albums. His debut record was titled, “Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar” (yes that was the title) and that album had the hits “Walk the Line” and “Folsom Prison Blues”, the two songs that made him famous. Johnny recording albums one after another up until his final album that he recorded when he was alive: “American IV: The Man Comes Around” (in 2002) and then he passed away in 2003.

He has a very large album discography but I’ll think he has tons of unreleased stuff too and they are trying to release some of it. I would think Johnny’s vault would be pretty huge.

Originally Johnny never really wanted to become a country singer. He wanted to sing gospel but he had to sing country ’cause it was the only way for him to get into the industry.

I love Johnny Cash though and I’m a massive fan. I have all of Johnny’s American albums but don’t have a lot of his older albums ’cause he has so many. I just have a greatest hits album and a few live albums too.

Johnny Cash definitely was obsessed with the studio. It was the only thing he was good at and he died what he loved doing.

What are Some Bands & artists that I like that Everybody Hates??? Yes, I do Have some…

I love music but sometimes haters of some bands can get quite annoying… I don’t really care about them, though. I listen to whatever music I want, it didn’t matter if it’s mostly hated by everybody. Just for a fun topic, I thought I would name a few bands that I love that everybody seem to criticize harshly all the time. Ya know, bands that people hate on obsessively.

Metallica – Everybody actually liked Metallica with their 80’s speed metal and their 90’s hit album “The Black Album” but they all of a sudden became one of the most hated bands with their Napster controversy and getting accused of selling out changing the band’s sound and style with Load/Reload/St. Anger. Look, I still love Metallica and always had. I own every album they did in their discography even Load/Reload & St. Anger and yes, I love those three albums. Obviously, the band is not afraid to take risks with their music and I respect them for that.

Phish – Phish has been hated on for years and I don’t know why. I think the band is great and I think Trey Anastasio is a very talented musician. I don’t have all their albums yet but getting there. Have about 8 of them so far. I’m a big Phish fan and saw them in concert twice. He is also a fine solo musician as well.

Nirvana – Yup, Nirvana is definitely one band that got a lot of hate over the years. I’ve always loved Nirvana. Loved them ever since MTV was obsessed with them in the 90’s so I went out and bought the CD “Nevermind” which I still have sitting on my CD shelf. I love “In Utero” and love “Bleach”. People hate Nirvana ’cause of Kurt’s singing and they just how simple Nirvana songs are. Well all you need is 3 or 4 chords to write great rock songs anyways.

Oasis – The band Oasis also got a lot of hate over the years and can’t understand why. I always dug the songwriting of Noel and Liam. They’re amazing songwriters. They were big heroes of mine during high school and still love them today.

U2 – Need I say more? U2 and Bono got a lot of hate over the years. It got worse when they ditched their rock n’ roll sound for pop music with their controversial albums “Zooropa” and “POP”. They got people even more pissed off when they forced everyone who owned Apple products a free album “Songs of Innocence”, remember that??? I still love U2 and have most of their albums. I thought “Songs of Innocence” was a great album, though.

Creed – People couldn’t stand Creed ’cause of how mainstream they were but they still wrote kickass rock songs. Always dug that band and still hoping for a reunion now that Scott Stapp got himself better.

Eric Clapton – Clapton has always got a mixed reaction with his career over the years. You either love him or hate him. People prefer the stuff he did with Cream and they prefer his earlier solo work. With me, though, I’ve always been a loyal Clapton fan. Loved everything he has done really. He’s a guitar playing and songwriting genius.

That’s about all I can think of for now but you get the idea.
