Why twitter sucks, I think I’m done with that site for good…

Twitter is fucking boring, and I’m about to explain why. I think I’m going to get into my account soon and deactivate it for good this time. It’s just a shit social networking site where too many people living in delusional fantasy worlds. I think that’s the main reason. Plus, nobody pays attention to you in that site even if you think people are. You won’t be a popular twitter user unless you’re a famous celebrity with a verified account. I think it’s the celebrities is why I am giving up twitter. The celebrities are really bad at using the site. Worse than anybody. I used to go on there to read celeb tweets for laughs. Everyone will think celebrities are so cool and like god or something, but when you read celebrity tweets, you’ll see that they are nothing but a bunch of losers.

As for people who are not celebrities like me, you’re never going to become one because you have a twitter account, so get over yourselves. Twitter is not a good promoting tool for your projects. Twitter is garbage, pure and simple.

Cool Video: The Who on the Smothers Brothers TV show, Keith Moon’s famous explosion!

This is such a cool performance, I just had to share it here. I’m sure Pete Townshend will talk about this incident for his upcoming rock memoir, so I can’t wait to read what Pete will have to say about this performance. Pete blames part of his hearing loss because of this performance, and I can see why. Pete was standing so close to the bass drum when it exploded. The bass drum explosion almost hit Roger too.

I also loved how John stayed out of everything. He’s like, “These guys are nuts, I’m not gonna let them smash my bass”.

This is one of the Who’s best TV performances though and a pretty historic one too. The Who, have always been one of my favorite classic rock bands. Always fuckin’ loved them!

Brock defends wrestler, Chris Jericho……again….

WWE Star, Chris Jericho, is in the news again. Of course, every time this guy returns to the business and if he does something controversial, he becomes a big target in media news. Remember, a while back, I think a few years ago, that Jericho was in the news, for getting into a fight with a female fan after a house show? (He punched her in the face…) Well, here is something new this year. Jericho and CM Punk were performing a match at a House show in Brazil.

CM Punk was waving the Brazil flag for the fans, but Jericho took the flag away, and kicked it out of the ring. See the video here, at TMZ.

Brazilian police came close to arresting Jericho for it ’cause it’s against the law to desecrate flags in their country, but Jericho apologized for it and they let him go, but WWE suspended him for 30 days instead.

You guys, Jericho is a bad guy wrestler, a heel. That’s what heel wrestlers do, they’re supposed to do offensive things to get, “heat”. They’ll do whatever it takes to get the crowd booing ’cause that’s what a heel’s job is supposed to do. It’s all part of a wrestling show. I’m sure Jericho doesn’t hate Brazil, this is just part of his act.

On top of all this, heel wrestlers do this stuff all the time in the business over the years, but the way the industry is today, since wrestling is so mainstream, everyone wants to think of “wrestling” as real. Chris Jericho is a great performer. One of the best heel wrestlers around. If he can get himself in the news, get himself in the media being a bad guy “wrestler”, he’s doing all the right things. Whether it gets himself in trouble in real life or not. I mean, how many heel wrestlers out there do something offensive and they don’t make media news? Not too many. You have to do something drastic, in order to get everyone’s attention in a wider scale and Chris Jericho can do that.

That’s what make him a talented performer. Now, it wouldn’t surprise me if this gets turned into a wrestling angle next week on RAW. It’s hard to take things seriously in wrestling. Hard to tell whether these things are real or not. I still support Jericho. He really didn’t mean what he did. He was just being a performer, and that’s his job.

Today, officially marks the 30th Anniversary of the first Star Wars film, “A New Hope”…

Love George Lucas or hate him, you can’t deny that he is a creative genius and was pretty successful of his storytelling. While I am more of a Star Trek fan, I can appreciate Star Wars. I do like the original movies and the prequels too. George Lucas got so much hate and disrespect over the years. The man was never afraid to do what he wanted to do. He was never afraid to tell the stories he wanted to tell, whether other people liked it or not. All the success George got with Star Wars over the years, he didn’t get it for nothing. He created it all himself. The first Star Wars movie was heavily inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s film, “The Hidden Fortress”. I believe he wrote the script from there. It wasn’t easy for George to get studios interested in, “Star Wars”, as he kept getting rejected. George really wanted the stories to be told, and he did all he could to get the films made. George really worked hard. Congratulations to George on 30 years. He must be proud even to this day.

I might even watch, “A New Hope” later tonight.

In defense of wrestlers getting into the movies…

These days, more and more wrestlers have been getting away from professional wrestling to act in movies more. With wrestlers such as, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Kurt Angle are becoming pretty big movie stars lately. I’m sure many movie fans are accusing them of not having acting talent and I’m sure they think these wrestlers don’t deserve to be in the movies, but in this post, I’ll take a little time to defend them.

People think that wrestlers don’t have acting experience, sorry to say, but these wrestlers have PLENTY Of acting experience. How? Well, professional wrestling is acting. Think of professional wrestling as theater. Both wrestling and acting in movies are pretty much the same thing. When you have years and years of professional wrestling experience, you don’t need to go to college for acting or any of that stuff. Wrestling taught them how to be an actor. They don’t need to be on the Broadway theater stage or do commercials on TV to get their start. They can get right into the movies, right away.

Wrestling helps them become a big name, so they get recognized in the movies easier. The bigger these guys become in the wrestling industry, they accomplished everything they needed to accomplish in wrestling, that there’s nothing left for them to do anymore. That’s why they move away from wrestling, and move on to movies. So they deserve to be in the movies for sure.

I think Dwayne, Steve Austin and Kurt are all doing a good job in movies so far. I’ve seen some of their work recently. I expect even more wrestlers to retire from the business to focus on movies more. I think Triple H could be next. There are rumors he might be retiring from WWE soon, not sure. Triple H has been doing a bunch of straight to video movies for WWE Films. Triple H didn’t do any major big screen movies yet, but I’m sure he’ll get into big screen movies soon when he gets done with wrestling officially.

All this talk on tanning…

Wow, so the topic of tanning got pretty big on the internet, because of this tanning Mom thing. That story where she brought her 5 year old kid tanning with her.

Here’s my brief thoughts. When I first started bodybuilding & fitness, I thought about tanning, but then I decided I’m never going to do it. Why? Because tanning is very dangerous and silly. There too many gym people that do tanning these days. They go to tanning salons and use tanning beds, or they lay under the sun in the summer time. The reason why people do it ’cause they live in this fantasy world that they want to have perfect bodies. They don’t want to admit that they dream of having a supermodel body so they can look sexy in the summer while out in the beach. People just enjoy that attention for themselves.

I don’t need to look like that. Plus, you never know the bad things that could come out of tanning. It could damage your skin. Also, you skin could look uglier if you don’t do it, right and carefully. It could also increase the chance of skin cancer. Tanning is just not safe, period.

On top of that, you can get an okay tan just by simply walking outside in the sun, just enjoying everyday life, as long as you use suntan lotion so you don’t get burned. Tanning is ugly. I’m proud of the way I am now. Natural is the way to be.

I don’t understand the hate for Star Trek…

Last night on Netflix, I just finished watching “Season 1” of the original Star Trek series. I have watched the original series too many times as a kid, I just haven’t seen it in a long while, so it’s nice to start re-watching it. I’m a Trekkie. Proud of it and not ashamed to be a die-hard of this franchise. Over the years, people would bash Star Trek. A lot of people said that Star Trek is boring. I don’t think Star Trek is boring. I think the stories are pretty masterful and intelligent. I think people have a hard time getting into Trek ’cause they look at it like it’s more of a “drama” or “soap opera” mixed with “science fiction”. I also think people don’t like Star Trek ’cause the science is more detailed and they don’t understand it.

Don’t get me wrong, there are things I don’t like about Trek. For example, I wasn’t a fan of “Deep Space Nine”, “Enterprise” with Scott Bakula, and there were a few Star Trek movies I didn’t like. I loved most of the Star Trek movies except for, “Star Trek V: The Final Frontier”, “Star Trek: Insurrection”, and “Star Trek: Nemesis”.

I’m a fan of the original Trek series, I loved The Next Generation, and Voyager was good too. I plan to re-watch all those shows on Netflix. It’s great that Paramount gave Netflix the permission to stream all the series ’cause I was going to start collecting the series on DVD. Don’t have to now. The picture and sound is just as good on Netflix.

Star Trek is cool. Love that franchise more than Star Wars.

Report: We’ll have to wait for “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” for next year, Paramount wants to add 3D for the film…

Well, look like we’ll have to wait even longer for the “G.I. Joe” sequel, “Retaliation”. Paramount is pushing the film back, 9 months of it’s original release date, June 29th. Instead, it’s coming out, March 29th, 2013. This is creating controversy on the internet today. It’s pissing people off. It’s pissing me off ’cause I’ve been looking forward to this movie. I absolutely LOVED, the first movie.

I’m a huge GI Joe fan, loved the action figures and cartoons when I was a kid. The movies are staying true to the characters and stories. This is how greedy Hollywood is. Thanks to James Cameron, Hollywood is now jerking off over 3D. I don’t like today’s 3D too much. The only good 3D movie of today, was “The Avengers”. So far, I haven’t liked any other 3D movie. These days Hollywood is giving you a choice to either see the film in regular 2D or 3D.

That’s the only reason they are doing this, competition. Money. They want to compete with other 3D movies. I pretty much blame it on, “The Avengers”. Paramount, thinks they can top Marvel.

Deadline, reports.

Musicians making friends with other musicians and doing it the right way…

I know musicians making friends with other musicians has always been a pretty popular thing that goes on in the unsigned music world. I understand why musicians feel the need to make friends with other musicians in their music scene. They do it so they can get more contacts. Hoping to get gigs with them or even form a band with them. Some musicians do it just for networking in the music scene and try to get known around them so they can be a part of the scene. Some do it to try to get their own music out there. Some do it for the enjoyment of hanging out ’cause they have good music discussions having the same taste in music. Lot of reasons why musicians want to be friends or just “buddies” to other musicians.

In the past, when I was out there gigging, I hung out with some musicians in the scene. I wouldn’t exactly call them “best friends”, just hung out with them in the scene. Didn’t really hang out with them at their homes or anything but what is that word, I’m trying to look for? I think the correct word that I’m looking for is, “acquaintance”, means you know them personally but not exactly your friend.

If making friends or acquaintances is what you want to do in the music scene, you must go for the people who are willing to support you in return. Be friendly with the musicians who have the same taste of music as you do. That is pretty much key to winning support from other musicians, sharing the same musical tastes and styles. Enjoying the same bands and genres. Having lots of common in music.

The last thing you want to do though is try to be friendly with all musicians out there, ’cause not all of them are going to be friendly, believe me. You will make enemies out there too. You can’t please everybody. I’ve had plenty of musicians from the past who I thought was going to be a buddy of mine or just a contact, but I learned that a lot of them can’t be trusted. Just move on from the enemies immediately, brush them off and go for the ones that will be willing to be supportive of you.

Seriously, there will be kind musicians out there that will support you, have your back, and he/she will want the best of you. You will get wonderful musicians that will support you every step of the way. You just need to believe in yourself and support the musicians who support you in return. There’s your own music scene. Sometimes, it’s worth it going through all those musicians who were enemies who tried to bring you down, ’cause you can get supporters that way. There will be musicians who won’t give you drama. Just go for the right musicians, and your music life will be great.

This is one of the reasons why I’m trying to learn music theory more, so I can understand their music theory discussions, lol…

Writing the best music possible is key to success in music… period…

You can promote your music all you want to. You can have over a million fans in facebook or twitter or where ever. You can put your show advertisements everywhere as much as possible. No matter how much or how hard you promote your music, people are still not going to listen to it and will not support your music if it’s not good. Believe me. If they don’t like it, they won’t support it, even if you would like them to. Sad, but that’s the way music is. People are pretty honest with music.

If you’re not getting enough support with your music that you would like to, don’t worry about it. Just keep doing your thing, and sometime in the future, you will write something really good that everyone will like. Once in a while, I do get really good feedback on a few of my originals, but it would be appreciated if people gave me positive feedback on all of my music but music doesn’t work that way, I guess. You have to let the people be your critic. There are too many musicians out there that get offended by negative feedback. Thing is, if you’re getting too much negative feedback, keep working on the music. Listen to what they have to say and try to improve the song, then the feedback could possibly turn into a more positive direction.

I actually enjoy the negative feedback, it don’t bother me. The negative critics actually help me wanting to become a better songwriter and musician. If you take your time to improve your talent, more people will give you more respect and the negative critics will go away that way. The negative critics are not gonna go away if you lash out at them and defend yourself. They’ll stop hating on you, if you become a better musician and songwriter. That’s how you get people to like you more.

Which is what I’ve been doing with my own talent. I’m trying to improve my musicianship to a higher level. Trying to learn music theory, scales & modes, improvisation, timing & rhythm, etc. I’m trying to learn all the things a musician is supposed to know. I’m also trying to improve the singing too. I’ve been practicing music everyday for a couple of hours and it’s really making a huge difference in my playing, and I am getting better.

I’ll get back into songwriting again soon, I just wanted a little break from it to focus on learning music. Even if you did improve your singing and instrument playing, people are still going to give you honest feedback. It’s all about the song. The melody. If the song is good enough, people will support it and respect it. How do you write a really good song? I’ve said it before, the song needs emotion, you need to feel it. Ever feel amazed or blown away by your favorite music? Well your music needs to feel the same way. It needs to be played with heart.

Good music is the only way that you’re going to get somewhere in your career. You can’t beg people to like you. Just let the good feedback come on it’s own and things will be fine. Never think of yourself as a great musician, you need to let others tell you that. Sometimes it takes years to be a good musician and good songwriter, just give it time and everyone will like you soon enough.
