Thought: I agree that the Mormon religion is a cult…

Presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney is in a bit of controversy over his religious beliefs. Pastor Robert Jeffrees, accused Romney of being in a cult because he is a Mormon. He also said that Mormons aren’t Christians. Mormons are people who are from the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. Romney served as a missionary in his younger years.

More on the story, here.

I’m gonna have to agree that the Mormon religion is a cult. I know, because in the past, I used to go to them. Yep, I used to go to the Later Day Saints a long time ago. I’ll confess it. I decided to leave the religion ’cause I figured this wasn’t going to be my thing. I went to it ’cause I thought it would be a good way to better my life, but I figure I would be a better person my own ways without joining a religion.

How the Mormon religion do things is really disturbing. They have these rules you must follow: 1) You can’t have sex before marriage (most religions have this rule) 2) Can’t drink coffee or tea 3) Can’t drink alcohol 4) Can’t listen to heavy metal music or watch R rated movies 5) No swearing/profanity 6) you must dress appropriately, etc. I can go on with the list.

I also don’t like how they force you to go to these special Church meetings when you don’t really want to and Church people think they can show up at your house unannounced. Plus, I don’t really like Missionaries either, aka the Elders. Missionaries are people who wear black and white suit, most of them young men. They travel around the world, knocking on people’s doors trying to talk into people joining the Church. That’s what they do. I’m sure Missionaries stopped at your house before too.

Does all this make me an atheist? Yes, maybe. It’s a free country, people can do what they want to do. It just bothered me how religion controls your life. I’m just a happy person living the life I want to. I don’t need to be in a religion, no offense to those who are religious out there.

Unsigned musicians & the internet…

There’s a lot of musicians online, that enjoy getting into debates, ranting & raving about things. Of course,  musicians talking about politics is the most popular. Then all this negative drama will start online. It’s been this way with unsigned musicians on the internet for years. You see musicians talking shit about other musicians & bands. They also like to discuss things that goes on in the news. Facebook is good evidence of all this of what I’m talking about.

I think it’s because, that they play an instrument or if they sing, they think it makes them smart in some way. It makes them feel important, and just because they’re a musician, they think they’re respected by everyone around them. It’s an ego kind of thing for sure.

Every musician wants to think they’re so great and special. It’s crazy, I know.

I understand freedom of speech, but if you all want to be a successful musician and reach for your dreams, then you must stop the bull shittin’  and focus on the music. Many of them don’t sadly. Why do you think they’re still doing what they’re doing?

Of course, people will tell me to look in the mirror and probably will call me a hypocrite, I don’t do music professionally. It’s just for fun and a hobby like I always say. I just want to see other musicians do their thing.

If you put your music career in a negative direction, you’re not going to get much out of it. Which is called, karma. I know from experience and learning from my mistakes. If you work on the music and focus on that only, you’ll get good things coming up ahead. That’s good karma.

That’s what I’ve been doing. Working on my music, trying to become a better guitarist/singer. Hopefully, try to write new songs which is what I’ve been doing. I remember watching Ultimate Warrior’s “It Does Matter” videos, he says if you want to be successful in your life, he said, “Do the Work”. I agree with him totally. By not talking about it and doing the actual work, will get you somewhere in life.

If all these musicians want to get recognized for their talent, then they must do the work, yet, I see them in facebook bullshittin’. Sad but true.

Report: So is a Black Sabbath reunion with Ozzy happening or not? I’m so confused!!!

Just a while back, Tony Iommi, shoots down rumors of a possible Black Sabbath reunion with Ozzy…and now Ozzy the man himself, spoke with Billboard, and says it’s a very strong possibility.

More on the story, here.

I think it’s a possibility that it could happen as well. I think Tony and Ozzy are just teasing us. Just trying to get us guessing on whether or not it’ll happen, then out of nowhere, they’ll make it official. I hope they do make it official. A new Black Sabbath album with Ozzy and a tour would be awesome. I’m all for a Black Sabbath/Ozzy come back. I LOVE Black Sabbath. I loved both the Ozzy and Ronnie James Dio era’s.

When the Black Sabbath tour happens, they could be the biggest selling tour in the history of music. They’ll sell out every concert quickly, I’m sure.

Cool Video: See the Mini Band perform Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”…

There is this band called the Mini Band which has the line up of 8 – 10 year old kids, performing a gig at a Beer Festival. Yes, you heard that right, a Beer Festival. The Mini Band performs Metallica’s, “Enter Sandman”. The Mini Band seems to be becoming internet sensations ’cause their videos are being posted everywhere in facebook. Honestly, I’m more impressed with the girl shredding on the solo. She makes Kirk Hammet look bad, lol.

I’ll give this band a lot of kudos because they’re playing real instruments. They’re not stuck at home playing Rock Band/Guitar Hero The lead singer’s vocals needs a little more work, but the other kids play their instruments well.

I think these kids are going to become future rock stars, especially that girl that shreds, she’s off to a good start. If she keeps playing guitar, imagine how good she’ll be when she turns 20?

I wonder if James and Lars saw this yet?

Enjoy.

Cool Photos: See Henry Cavill and Amy Adams on the set of “Man Of Steel” in Alaska…

The cast and crew left Chicago while filming, Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” a few weeks ago, they are now filming in Alaska.

The pics above is a fully bearded Henry Cavill and the redhead Amy Adams filming, the next Superman flick.

See more pics, here.

The more I see behind the scenes pics of, “Man of Steel”, the more I begin to think it’s “Superman: Begins”, much like, “Batman: Begins”. Look like Clark Kent will start off with a full beard in the opening scenes of the movie.

I’m more looking forward to seeing pics of Michael Shannon as, General Zod. They haven’t shown us yet.

Report: Connie Britton speaks out on the new, “Friday Night Lights”, movie…

Connie Britton, who plays Tami Taylor, on “Friday Night Lights” TV show, spoke to US Weekly saying that Peter Berg is all fired up about turning the show into a new movie. She also says Jason Katims is writing the script.

Read what she have to say, here.

I’m very excited for this. The “Friday Night Lights” movie could have potential for an Oscar nod for some of the show’s actors especially, Kyle and Connie.

I’m sure they’ll do a good job with the film. I just hope Minka Kelly comes back as Lyla throughout the movie, and not just a cameo for her.

Report: Lady Gaga to become the new front woman for Queen???

Brian May says that Lady Gaga could be the new singer for Queen. He hints that she is in talks to join the band to replace, Freddie Mercury.

This may sound weird, and I know a lot of people are not going to like it, but honestly, I think it’s a great idea. She WOULD be a great replacement for Freddie. She’s the real deal, seriously.

Lady Gaga’s image and vocal style has been compared to Freddie for years. As you all know, Gaga and May opened the MTV VMA’s this year. See the pic above? I think they looked great together! Good chemistry between the two of them. The way she dressed at the VMA’s, I think I got it figured out. I think she was trying to look like Freddie, that’s why she was looking like a man that night. It was the look she had planned for her performance with Brian.

Many people say that Freddie can’t be replaced, but of course he can. If Alice in Chains can go on successfully without Layne and if AC/DC can go on successfully without Bon Scott, I think Gaga could be successful fronting Queen too. Why not? Besides, Queen was never considered a hard rock/metal act anyway. Queen has always been a pop/rock band, which fits Lady Gaga perfectly.

Before Gaga’s fame, she sang for local cover bands, so I’m sure she could sing all the Queen songs just fine. Plus, I’m pretty sure Freddie would dig it if Gaga sang for Queen.

I think it’s a cool idea and hope it happens. I love Lady Gaga. Always had. I’m not into today’s pop music that much, but I am a fan of Gaga.

Why Steve Jobs was an important figure in the music industry…

Even though Steve Jobs, wasn’t a musician. He never played an instrument, and he never sang anything, but he is still considered a music artist in some way. Why? Because it was him that brought us the Ipod and Itunes. Before then we were listening to music on portable CD players and cassette walkman’s. Nobody buys music on CD anymore because everyone is buying music digitally now, all because of Itunes.

Steve was a huge music lover himself. He was a huge fan of the Beatles. I think he also dated folk music legend, Joan Baez, briefly. The photo above is the boys in U2 unveiling the, “U2 Ipod Edition” that was released years back. Steve Jobs changed the way we all looked at the music business.

Famous musicians including Guns N’ Roses, Coldplay, Nikki Sixx, Mick Jagger, and more. Help grieve the death of Steve.

Read what musicians have to say about him, here.

I’m sure you can read a lot more by musicians in twitter as well. Like him or not, Steve created an impact in the music business. Changed it forever.

I love the Ipod.

R.I.P.: Steve Jobs 1955 – 2011

I guess it’s time for another obit. Entrepreneur and inventor, Steve Jobs, who was the co-founder, chairman and chief executive for Apple Inc. has died after a long battle with cancer. He is famous for creating the Apple II series computer way back in the 70’s. The Apple II became so popular , which helped create, the Macintosh. Jobs latest creation, the Iphone’s and Ipad’s became a huge hit worldwide. Jobs changed the world by inventing new ways for people to communicate.

I was never into those gadgets. I never really understood them. I thought about getting an Iphone but changed my mind. I think a regular cell phone is good enough for me. If I had an Iphone, I just don’t want people bothering me 24/7, everywhere I go. I don’t see how people could do it but that’s just me.

Steve Jobs always had my respect even though I was never into Apple that much. The only thing I have by Apple is the, Ipod Nano. Like Steve or not, he did change the way we looked at the world over the years. RIP Steve.
