Thought: About Arnold’s split with Maria Shriver…

So the news shocked the world today that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver has officially split up. Honestly, it didn’t really come as a surprise. I totally blame it on Arnold’s politics in his governor run that made this happen, of course. He was so busy being governor that he was away from his family most of the time. And now that he’s no longer governor, he’ll be an even more busier man since he came back to Hollywood in leading roles.

Either that or Maria is just an annoying woman and must of pissed off Arnold a lot.

Ah well, I never liked Maria Shriver anyway. Arnold deserves a better woman. Now that he maybe single soon, he deserves a hotter woman. So I hope he does get a hotter woman next time he gets hooked up with somebody.

When he does hook up with someone new, I know you’re going to think that a lot of women his age will be after him? Don’t be surprised. I’m sure there are plenty of young women that will want to jump in bed with him. It worked for Sean Penn and Scarlett Johannsen.

A new official music website is coming soon…

Just created this website, a site to promote my music only…

Check it out here

That’s all there is on there for now, but I will put a lot more stuff on there. I want to use my music promotion separate from this entertainment blog. For that other website, I will buy a domain name for that too.

I plan to do a photoshoot with a professional photographer soon. I know a few professional photographers around my hometown of Greenwich, and I would probably work with one of them.

If anybody have any old live photos of me playing gigs from the past, I would love to put those on there too. I would also like to put my show history back on there too but don’t have it saved anywhere. If anybody has any of that stuff, e-mail me: rockystallone6@gmail.com.

Report: Colin Hanks set to play main villain for “Dexter – Season 6″…

The son of Tom Hanks, whose name is Colin, has been signed for a major villain role for “Dexter’s Season 6”. The show already had John Lithgow and Jimmy Smits playing the main villains, Colin’s character will be totally different than them. Showtime is keeping Colin’s character a secret for now.

More on the story, here.

This show is going to help Colin become more well known, indeed.

I still haven’t seen the rest of “Dexter – Season 4” and I only started watching the first 3 or 4 episodes so far. I still need to watch the rest of Season 4 and then I’ll need to catch up with Season 5. I have plenty of time to catch up with the show before Season 6 gets here. Season 6 will air on Showtime sometime in Sept., I believe. The show is usually on Sept. every year.

DVD Review: “The Big 4”

So I finally bought the “Big 4” live music DVD. The history making concert in Sofia, Bulgaria with 4 iconic metal bands all in one show. They are: Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth and Metallica. Here is a brief review of the DVD.

I thought all 4 performances were just amazing of course. All 4 bands played amazingly tight. Honestly, I never really listened to Anthrax that much before, and after hearing them on this DVD makes me want to buy more of their music, only the stuff with Joey Belladonna as the vocalist ’cause he is an awesome singer.

I love Slayer and knew most of their songs they played on this DVD. The same with Megadeth and Metallica. Some people don’t see it in me, but I’m a metalhead. I love the genre. I’ve been listening to metal for years, ever since the 80’s hair metal days.

The sound and the picture on the DVD is just mind blowing. The music on the DVD is loud. So if you have a home theater surround sound system, the drums might blow your subwoofer if you turn it up so loud, lol.

Another thing that’s cool, is that the DVD has a 49 minute documentary, giving you a behind the scenes look of that whole concert. The documentary shows all the bands traveling to that venue and arriving there. It shows the setup of the concert, meeting fans backstage and all that stuff. It also shows private conversations with the bands in the dressing rooms.

The thing that amazed me the most is the friendship between Dave Mustaine and Lars Ulrich. Remember, those two guys used to be enemies for years. It was Lars who fired Dave from Metallica 30 years ago. Now they are on the DVD acting like they are brothers or best friends or something. I’ll admit it almost brought a tear to my eye.

I’m just so happy that the feud between Metallica and Megadeth is finally over. Dave Mustaine looks very happy about it too. This was good of Dave to do, bury the hatchet. You can’t hold negative grudges forever. You gotta patch it up sometime. It’s called forgiving and forget. That’s what Metallica did. They finally forgave Dave for his troubles. Now Metallica and Megadeth are finally touring after so many years.

This was supposed to happen a long time ago. Metallica and Megadeth sharing the stage. Now it’s finally happening. Now the Big 4 show is set for a few US shows with them being booked for Yankee Statium in NYC. Oh man, I would love to go to the Yankee Stadium show, ’cause that would be fucking badass!

Now that Metallica and Megadeth finally buried the hatchet, lets hope for a supergroup collaboration. Maybe both Metallica and Megadeth can do an album together under a different band name, ’cause that would be a pretty cool side project for them. I’m pretty sure Dave Mustaine, Lars, James, and Kirk would plan a studio project together in the future. Maybe even Dave would let some of the boys in Metallica play on a song for the new Megadeth album, who knows. All of this is possible now they are friends again.

This is a must buy for all metalheads out there. So do yourself a favor and get it. I don’t buy music DVD’s too much but only the ones I’m interested in.

Another thing about my comeback to music…

From this point on, I’m no longer going to be a negative person in the music scene. No more talking trash about other bands, musicians, promoters or venues in this site. If I want to become more successful and become more established at music, I can’t be that type of person anymore. I learned from my mistakes from the past and I won’t make them again, I’ll make a vow to that. Doing all this ranting & raving won’t help me get new fans or even new gigs, so I promise I will be a 100% professional this time around. I don’t want to turn off new fans and new promoters. I’ll do much better, trust me. I’m still NOT going to like certain things and certain people in the music scene, but all negative things I’ll keep for myself.

We’re going to have bad shows and good shows, all musicians do. All musicians have their share of drama and negativity as well, but I’m learning to be a man and deal with it like a professional.

That’s how most successful bands make their dream come true, ’cause they learned to not let drama and negativity get to them.

I will keep this site as positive as possible as well.

Edit to add: I will still write honest or negative thoughts on national music, movies, politics or the entertainment industry, but anything local I will stay positive.

Life & Music…

Some people mistakenly think that I am a fun & outgoing guy. That I like to go out and do things, have fun like so many people seem to do these days. Not really. My life off the computer is actually very boring. Why? Because pretty much the only thing I do is music. Whether I’m playing an instrument or listening to music, I’m good. That’s my life, right there, people.

I’ve been a music lover for years. Ever since I was a kid. It’s been my lifelong passion forever. When I was a kid, way before I started playing guitar, all I ever did was listen to albums. Most people would just buy an album and only listen to hit songs from the radio. Not me. That’s not how I listened to music. I’ve always listened to a full album, all the way through, from beginning to the end. I listened to music that way as a kid too and still listen to music that way. I don’t select certain songs that I like the best of an albums and listen to only stuff I liked. I listen to a whole album like a piece of art. As soon as I put an album on, it stays playing until it’s over.

I would listen to every detail of the album. Try to listen to everything going on. All the instruments and vocals, sound production, etc. Everything.

Of course, I do have other hobbies & interests, like movies, video games, and fitness. I just do those things to get away from music for a little  while ’cause you have to get away from it at some point.

This is how big music means to me. It’s all I pretty much want to do in life. Music has helped me in so many ways. That’s how powerful music can be to a human being. I love playing my own music and love listening to other talent.

I could get a better life outside of music and I’m trying, but then again, music is all I want to do. If negative things happen in my life or things don’t happen the way I was hoping for, that’s alright. Music is what keeps me a happy person. I play guitar every single day for a few hours and I’m always buying albums from other artists all the time. I take music very seriously.

Looking forward to Wednesdays gig at Savannah’s with Ralph Renna’s Capital Underground show. I’ll be videotaping my performance that night, so you won’t miss anything.

Bin Laden enjoys watching himself on TV…

I guess Bin Laden is loving all the publicity he gets in the news. He killed people because he enjoyed it, and you clearly see it here. Here he is watching himself of a news report on TV. Not showing a sign of emotion, look like he is enjoying himself. Wrapped up in a blanket. It must be cold in that house if he has no heat.

Why couldn’t he have a fireplace or have gas heat? Well if he had gas heat, he would have to pay the bills and he could be easily be traced that way. Plus, if he had fire to get warmed up, he would get found in the mountains with all the smoke in the air.

He must have cable TV if that is a cable box next to the TV set or is that satellite?

This is pretty unfair  and hypocritical if Washington D.C. is allowed to release this but they won’t release the pics of his dead body.

Book Review: “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins

Well I finally got around to reading the book, “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. I bought the book because there is a movie being made to this. I thought the plot to the movie sounded interesting to me so I wanted to read the book before the movie came out. I learned that this book is a teen readers/young adults novel. Yes, another tween story, but this is no “Harry Potter” or “Twilight”, “The Hunger Games” is a totally different story.

The book is set after an unidentified future after the destruction of North America. The United States is replaced by Panem after the destruction. It is divided into the Capital and 12 Districts. Every year two young people are selected by lottery to participate in, “The Hunger Games”. “The Hunger Games” has 24 young people competing each other to win. The only way to win is to eliminate each competitor by killing them. The last person standing alive is the winner which is called a “victor”, in the book. 16 year old Katniss Everdeen teams up with a boy named, Peeta, who helps each other survive the games.

As you can tell by the plot, it sounds violent, right? The book is very violent. I was surprised on how violent it was. It really shouldn’t be considered a teen reader’s novel. As soon as I started the book, I just couldn’t put it down. It only took me a couple of days to read. It’s also a love story but there’s not much romance in it. I believe the romance was thrown in there so it can be considered a “teen” novel. Other than that, the book is way too violent for kids to read. There’s even a bit of blood and gore described in the book too.

When I read this book, I thought I was reading, “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding ’cause that’s what the book will remind you of. “The Hunger Games” will also remind you about that TV show, “Lost” and “Survivor”. So I have this feeling that “The Hunger Games” movie will be shot reality show style

Back to the book, I really liked, Suzanne’s writing and looking forward to reading the rest of the Hunger Games series. I think the next book is called, “Mocking Jay” and I’ll buy that book sometime in the future. There are other books I need to catch up on. Yes, I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately. Why? Because I like books. I’ve been a reader of books ever since I was a kid. It’s just a hobby of mine that I like to do.

Report: Will Smith and Quentin Tarantino to team up for the first time for “Django Unchained”???

The iconic film director, Quentin Tarantino, finally announced his next film that he just wrote and will direct for the big screen. His next film is titled, “Django Unchained” which will be a western film. Tarantino wants Will Smith to star in the leading role. Tarantino describes that this movie will be a popcorn and revenge flick. This will be the follow up film from 2009’s, “Inglourious Basterds”.

Christoph Waltz who won an Oscar from “Inglourious Basterds”, is set to re-team with Tarantino by having a role for, “Django Unchained”. Samuel L. Jackson is also in negotiations to have a role in the film too.

More  on the story, here.

While I’m a huge fan of Tarantino movies, I love them all, I just don’t like Will Smith too much. I find Will Smith overrated as hell and his acting doesn’t grab me at all. I’ll see it in theater if I like the trailer enough. If not, then it will be a wait for DVD thing. I expect this movie “Django Unchained” to be 2 1/2 – 3 hours long. Everyone knows most Tarantino movies are very long films. What’s amazing about Tarantino’s work, is that even if the films are long, they won’t seem that long when you actually watch it because of the film’s pacing. His movies usually go by pretty fast. I expect the same will happen with this flick.

The sad thing is, that Sally Menke, Tarantino’s longtime editor won’t be a part of this film because of her death obviously. So the editing style maybe a little different with a different editor.

Cool Video: Showtime finally reveals teaser for “Dexter – Season 6” this fall…

Showtime dropped this video teaser on the Dexter facebook page today. They tease Season 6 as “Hell Breaks Loose”. Does this mean we’re going to get an angry Dexter who goes on a murderous rampage in the worse ever possible? Sounds like it.

I just started watching Season 4 on DVD. When I finish Season 4, I’m going to have to order the Showtime channel for my DVR box ’cause I don’t have Showtime yet. I will catch up with Season 5 on the Showtime – On Demand thing. Season 5 should be coming out on DVD/Blu Ray this Summer now that Season 6 have finally been announced.

I’m such a huge fan of the show. Other than HBO’s “Game of Thrones”, NBC’s “Friday Night Lights”, Showtime’s “Dexter” is pretty high on the list as one of my favorite TV shows. I just don’t want “Dexter” to end. I hope the show will last for a long time and hope “Season 6” won’t be the final season. I think the show will be around for a long while. As you can see “Dexter” is the most talked about show on the internet. That’s how I got into the show ’cause everyone was talking about it online and I became interested. Glad I finally got into Dexter. Smart storytelling, Melissa Rosenberg is a great writer.
