Report: Warner Bros. moving forward with “Blade Runner” prequel and sequel…

Well, let the Harrison Ford returning to “Blade Runner” rumors begin! I’m sure it already started! Warner Bros. financial company, Alcon Entertainment, is in final negotiations to secure the rights to make a “prequel” and “sequel”, to the 1982 science fiction action adventure film, “Blade Runner”, that starred Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, the film was directed by Ridley Scott.

Read the full story here, at Deadline.

Interesting. For the prequel, they would need a young actor for the Rick Deckard role, but Harrison may reprise the role for the sequel though. If they plan on using Rick Deckard still. I always felt that the “Blade Runner” movie had more of a story to be told, so I’m actually glad they’re doing more! Looking forward to see how they’re going to pull this off.

I’m sure we’ll hear from Harrison soon about this as well.

Report: Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to finally star in a live action film together, after the success of Toy Story!!!

After the huge success of the Toy Story franchise, Disney is moving ahead with a new film titled, “Jungle Cruise”, which will be based on the theme park ride at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The script was written for Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to star. Roger S.H. Schulman will write the script, and the film will be produced by David Hoberman, and Todd Lieberman. The studio haven’t hired a director yet. This film will be live action, not animated. The plot haven’t been revealed yet, but I’m sure we will hear more of the project in the future.

Deadline, reports.

Well I agree with Tom Hanks and Tim Allen finally staring in a film together, a live action film, that is. It deserves to happen. This project sounds great.

Tom haven’t done a family friendly live action film in a long time. The last live action family film he did was, “Cast Away” I believe? Back in the year 2000. Tom really doesn’t do live action films for kids that much anymore. He’s mostly done dramas and serious films.  He’s done plenty of voice overs for animated films, but not much for live action. He did all the family films in the 80’s with films such as, “Splash”, “BIG”, ” and maybe a few others.

“Jungle Cruise” is a great opportunity for Tom. Tom needs to get back into the comedy spotlight again like where he was before in the 80’s.

Cool Video: Anne Hathaway confirms Catwoman WILL be in the “Dark Knight: Rises” movie…

Ever since the new Batman villains was announced for the “Dark Knight: Rises”, they were just announced as Selina Kyle and Bane. The news didn’t quite say if Catwoman will actually be in the film or not. Well Anne Hathaway herself, confirms the Catwoman character will be in the “Dark Knight: Rises”. She didn’t say how long Catwoman will be in the film, maybe Catwoman will have just a small role or she might even be throughout the whole film, don’t know yet, but it’s good news to hear that Catwoman will be in the film after all. Can’t wait to see what the new Catwoman costume is going to look like.

Thought: About last night’s Oscars…

Yes, I did watch the Oscars last night, of course. Like expected, it wasn’t all that surprising and too predictable. I do like the winner choices, the awards went to the right places and right people this time around.

I’ve seen all ten “Best Picture” nominations, the only movie I didn’t like was, “The Kids Are Alright” but the rest of them are really good.

I’m honestly glad, “The King’s Speech” won BEST PICTURE, because it is a really good movie. It may seem boring to some people, it’s not just a dramatic movie, they made it a fun film with humor too. I wish there were better hosts this year, James Franco and Anne Hathaway were both kind of boring. The only celebrity worth seeing that did the best speech, was the amazing Kirk Douglas. Kirk Douglas, was funny, I was laughing my ass off when he was on stage, that guy has a sense of humor, indeed. Kirk Douglas, is a legend and it was amazing that he got a standing ovation.

Other stuff that was funny on the Oscars were Melissa Leo, saying the F-Bomb during her acceptance speech and Justin Timberlake saying that he’s Bansky. Banksy is the anonymous street artist in the movie, “Exit Through the Gift Shop”. Timberlake is not Bansky, he was just joking obviously.

I thought Natalie Portman gave the best acceptance speech and glad that she won for “Black Swan”. “Black Swan” was a really good movie also and I’ll admit that Natalie was good in that role.

I was hoping that Christopher Nolan was going to win for “Best Original Screenplay” for “Inception” though but he got robbed of that too. When will Chris Nolan ever get an Oscar award for Beset Director/Screenwriter? It’ll happen for Chris, just hang in there. I want Chris himself to become an Oscar winner, he’ll get his chance someday.

It was an alright, awards show, not so bad.

See the winners here, if you missed it.

Report: Sam Raimi and Harry Osborn will reunite for “Oz: The Great and Powerful”…

While actor, James Franco, is busy preparing for this Sunday night’s Oscars with Anne Hathaway, Franco has signed on to “Oz: The Great & Powerful”, the prequel to “Wizard of Oz” directed by Sam Raimi. This will be the fourth time Raimi will work with Franco, as Franco played Harry Osborn, in the “Spiderman” trilogy.

James Franco’s latest film is “127 Hours” which is about the real life mountain man, Aron Ralston, who was trapped in a cliff.

Deadline, reports.

Great choice! I think Franco is a talented man. I would like him to get Best Actor award for “127 Hours” at the Oscars this Sunday, but it’s probably gonna go to Colin Firth.

Report: Tony Gilroy begins casting for new Jason Bourne movie, several actors are up for the leading role…

The new Jason Bourne, spin off film is about to start production this fall, and the film’s director, Tony Gilroy, is on the hunt for the film’s new leading star. Gilroy met up with many different actors who are in the hopes of getting the opportunity. Keep in mind though, the next actor will not be replacing Matt Damon. The next film will have nothing to do with Jason Bourne, it’s going to be a completely new different story.

Matt Damon said no to starring in the next Bourne flick ’cause he wouldn’t do it without Paul Greengrass, directing. So they had to re-write the story. Actors possibly in the running for the role: Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Taylor Kitsch, Michael Fassbender, and many more.

Deadline, reports.

My pick would be Taylor Kitsch. Taylor deserves this huge opportunity. He needs this recognition. I really hope Gyllenhaal and Maguire don’t get it.

Report: Warner Bros. officially greenlights, “The Bodyguard” remake, who will take over Dolly Parton’s cover, of “I Will Always Love You”???

It’s official! Another pointless remake! The original “Bodyguard” movie was very huge in 1992. Honestly, I never cared for this movie. It was overrated. One of the most overrated in all of Hollywood movies. “The Bodyguard” and “Titanic” are both way overrated.

The remake will be written by Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer. The original movie is about a famous singer who hires a secret service agent, to protect herself from a stalker, of course, she and the secret service agent end up falling in love, which turns into a romantic movie.

The movie also got huge with Whitney Houston’s iconic cover of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You”. No director and no cast have been hired yet, just screenwriters.

See the full report here at, Deadline.

So who will take over the roles of Whitney  Houston and Kevin Costner? Jennifer Hudson or Rihanna for Whitney’s character? How about Robert Pattinson or Zac Efron for Costner’s role. Blech.

I’m getting kind of annoyed with the remakes myself.

Report: Bill Murray claims he haven’t read the “Ghostbusters 3” script…

Not too long ago, Ivan Reitman announced that he sent the script for “Ghostbusters 3”, to Bill Murray to get his approval of the film. Bill recently had an interview with Howard Stern on Sirius. Of course, Howard had to ask  him about the script.

Bill confirmed he does have the script, but he claims he haven’t read it. He says the script have been sitting on his desk at his home office but he doesn’t know how long he haven’t read it. He says he’ll read it at some point because he doesn’t want to hurt people’s feelings who’ve been wanting him to read it.

Read Bill’s full interview with Howard, here.

Come on Billy! Pick up the damn script and read it! I’m pretty sure he has all day to read the script, for some reason he doesn’t want to. As you can see, Bill is STILL being picky with the, “Ghostbusters 3” movie. He’s very difficult about it for whatever reason. I guess Bill wants to make sure that the story is going to work in order for him to give it the greenlight.

It doesn’t take that long to read a movie script. They can take a couple of days to read. I’ve read movie scripts before.

It’ll be a shame if Bill says, “No”, to G3. So hopefully he’ll get around to reading it, lets cross our fingers if he’ll like it enough. I respect Bill’s honesty and keeping things real though. Gotta give that.

Thought: How Liam Neeson is a box office hit recently…

If you wan to know how Liam Neeson is a box office hit all of a sudden with his two action films, “Taken” and “Unknown”, The Hollywood Reporter, does a great job explaining it.

That’s a good article and I agree with it all.

It is true that Liam is a newcomer to the action genre, he never did action movies in the past. It was mostly drama and serious films.

I honestly think Liam would make a great addition to the “Expendables” cast, so hopefully Sly will consider him for the sequel. Liam would either be a good guy or a villain in the next “Expendables” movie, he would do good at both.

I hope Liam sticks with the action genre for a long time. He probably will because he seems to enjoy doing it. I hope he does an R rated action film in the future, because “Taken” and “Unknown” were both PG-13 rated.

“I Spit On Your Grave” remake is one of the most serious horror films I’ve seen in a while…

Last night,  I finally got around to watching the horror film 2010 remake of “I Spit On Your Grave”. I haven’t seen the original 1978 version yet, but I plan on seeing the original soon. The film created a lot of controversy over the years, both the original and the remake, got a lot of negative feedback from fans & critics. When I finally saw this film last night, I was at the edge of my seat the entire time. It was a very serious horror film.

The story tells a young woman named, Jennifer Hills, who is very hot and beautiful. She’s a writer and she goes on vacation to a cabin to find a place alone where she could write her book. 5 men help her along the way, and later on in the story, she finds out that the men are psychotic rapists. All 5 men have a turn at raping and torturing her. When she finally escaped from the men, she kills them all for revenge.

In most horror films, the villains are usually the killers, but not this one. This film is totally different in so many ways. It concentrates on the main character, the hero, Jennifer Hills, being the killer.

In the films defense of the critics, I think the film’s goal was that they wanted to bring awareness to rape. Men raping women still goes on to this day. Yes, the film’s content is very gruesome and very gory, but it was meant to be that way. If the film didn’t have the murders and the gore, then they would fail at bringing awareness to rape. The girl in the film, Jennifer Hills, was doing it for self defense because no one would help her and she couldn’t do anything about it. She had no choice but to kill them all. That’s why she did what she did.

It was also a very sad film. After she got raped by the 5 men and she was killing the 5 of them, one at a time, you actually got very deep into her feelings and almost felt sorry for her. In real life, when women get raped by men, the women usually don’t do anything to escape because the man have so much power over her. The film wants to let women know that self defense is okay. If you’re a woman and being brutally attacked or raped by a man, do whatever it takes to protect yourself, even if it means killing him.

Killing for self defense is sometimes okay, when you can do nothing about it to protect yourself. You might get some prison time but not life, and you even maybe a free person and not get prison time at all because you defended yourself. Most found the film offensive and silly, but it’s a very realistic film that something like this can happen to anybody, anytime and anywhere. Even men can get raped by men and women too, but it rarely happens.

I thought it was a pretty powerful horror film. The film is very graphic and gory like I said. I didn’t get sick to my stomach watching this film because I’ve seen so many horror films over the years, I’m used to it. The horror genre is my favorite. Check it out. Give it a rent or buy it. It’s worth seeing.
