Report: Stephen King’s “The Stand” big screen version on the way…

Warner Bros. and CBS, have teamed up to bring Stephen King’s, “The Stand” to the big screen. “The Stand” was first brought to us in 1994 with a mini series that starred Gary Sinise, as Stu Redman, the leading character. The studios will sit down with directors and writers, to find the right take for the big screen version. Mosaic and Roy Lee are producing. Stephen King, the man himself, will be involved in some way, nobody knows yet.

“The Stand” is an apocalyptic story that tells of a plague virus which killed most Americans, leaving only some survivors. The survivors try their best to survive while they fight off the evil antagonist, Randall Flagg. Randall Flagg, was responsible for sending out that plague.

The Hollywood reporter, reports.

Honestly, I always thought, “The Stand” needed a big screen movie instead of small screen. Glad they finally considered it! The TV mini series sucked because they left so much out of the book. I think “The Stand” theater version should be a three part trilogy, and each film being three hours long, so they can fit everything in.

I don’t want Frank Darabont directing this. “The Green Mile” was a great movie, but “The Mist” sucked so bad. Darabont would ruin this one too. I’d say give this one to a talented director, like Christopher Nolan, Darren Aronofsky or Ridley Scott. “The Stand” big screen version should also be R rated, not leaving out the swearing, the violence, and gore.

Who should play Stu Redman? Should Gary get it again? Nah. I’d say give it to Christian Bale or Ethan Hawke.

Report: “The Kennedy’s” finally finds a new home at ReelzChannel…

After being rejected from the History Channel first, “The Kennedy’s” miniseries movie tried to get bought by other studios but no one would. A network finally bought the film. ReelzChannel will air “The Kennedy’s” on April 3rd.

The Hollywood Reporter, reports.

Glad the film found a new home! TV networks. They’re all so greedy and evil. I don’t understand why TV networks wouldn’t air this when it’s just a movie. I’ll have to see it myself to see why it’s so controversial, but I’m going to have to DVR it, because “Wrestlemania 27” is on that night.

BREAKING NEWS: Henry Cavill officially casted as Clark Kent/Superman!!!!

Christopher Nolan have announced today that Superman have officially been casted. An unknown actor by the name of Henry Cavill have been officially chosen to play the role of Clark Kent and Superman for the upcoming “Superman” reboot by Warner Bros., Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan. As you can see Henry resembles Christopher Reeve, a little bit, they both look alike.

Deadline, reports.

Wow. Warner Bros., and Chris Nolan are hard at work on both “Superman”, and “Batman”. I’m impressed! That is called multi-tasking. First the Batman villains have been casted and now Superman have been casted. Now that we all know who Superman is, we will know who the “Superman” villains will be very soon! I can’t wait to see who the villains for “Superman” will be. Just like everyone else, I hope they won’t use Lex Luthor or General Zod again either. We want a fresh and new Superman villain. A villain that haven’t been used in films before, like Darkseid or Doomsday would be cool.

Brock wants to see the movie “The King’s Speech” next…

Next time I go to the mall to see a movie, the next flick I plan to see, is “The King’s Speech”. Everyone’s saying it’s really good and it’s creating a huge media buzz, so I think I’m going to check it out before the Oscars. As a matter of fact, I have seen most every flick nominated for “Best Picture” for the Oscars, except for two of them. I haven’t seen, “The King’s Speech” yet and “127 Hours”. I do want to see both films though. I’m gonna have to wait on DVD for “127 Hours” because that film is coming out on DVD sometime in March. “The King’s Speech” does look like an interesting movie and looking forward to seeing it.

BREAKING NEWS: Javier Bardem officially offered the role of Roland “The Gunslinger” Deschain for Stephen King’s “Dark Tower” flick by Ron Howard…

Out of the three actors that’s been in the runner’s up for the role of Roland “The Gunslinger” Deschain for the “Dark Tower” film: Christian Bale, Viggo Mortensen, and Javier Bardem. Ron Howard and Universal Studios, wants Javier Bardem the most out of the three. Howard and Universal has already asked Bardem for the role but negotiations haven’t begun yet. I’m pretty sure Javier would say “yes”, to the role and sign the dotted line when he gets around to it.

The plot to the “Dark Tower” movie will be similar to the book. It tells a story of Deschain the last surviving member of the knightly order of gunslingers, and humanity’s last hope to save a civilization that will fall unless he finds the Dark Tower.

Read the full story here, at Deadline.

I know a lot of people disagree with this pick. In forums and blogs, people claim that Bardem don’t fit, but I think he fits perfectly if you think about it. Bardem is a fantastic actor. He’ll nail any role that throws at him and I think he’ll nail this role, as well. People don’t see Bardem as a tough guy with a short temper? That’s how Roland was in the books.

After they sign, Bardem, next they’ll have to cast roles for Jake Chambers, Eddie Dean and Susannah Dean. Susannah is a black woman in the books so they’ll need a black actress for her.

Who do I think should play Susannah? My picks would either be: Halle Berry or Zoe Saldana.

Not sure who to play Jake and Eddie though.

Report: John Travolta finally getting ready back to work, could possibly star as John Gotti for a biopic film…

Look like John Travolta is finally getting back to work in Hollywood. Obviously, he took a long hiatus from acting due to his tragedy with his son Jet and having a newborn baby with Kelly Preston just recently.  Travolta is in talks with Fiore Films, that he may possibly star as John Gotti for a biopic film. Nick Cassavettes is also in talks to direct the film.

Read more on the story, here.

Honestly, Travolta would be perfect for Gotti. They look creepily similar if you think about it. Plus, I can see Travolta nailing this role down and hopefully could land him back into the award scene with this role.

Wondering what’s going to happen with Sly Stallone’s “Gotti” project that he had planned? Sly might have to scrap his Gotti project, if this one is a hit. Glad Travolta is finally scouting for new projects! Like Travolta or not, I like him, always been a fan of his acting and his movies. Glad he’s making a comeback!

Report: First, “The Karate Kid” remake…now Will Smith is moving forward with the “Annie” remake starring his daughter, Willow Smith…

Announced today, Overbrook Entertainment has teamed up with Sony Pictures to work with Will Smith and Jay-Z on bringing an “Annie” remake to the big screen. They have already signed, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett’s daughter, Willow Smith to play the leading role. In the 1982 original, Aileen Quinn, played the Annie role, it looks like Willow will be playing that role. Oliver Warbucks was played by the great, Albert Finney.

Read the full story at, Deadline.

So what we’re getting is an “Annie” version for blacks? There will be rap and R&B songs being sung throughout the film? That’s what it’s looking like.

What black actor will land the Oliver Warbucks role? It wouldn’t surprise me if Will Smith himself signs on that to that role. Wonder how they’re gonna do the B&O Bridge scene at the end of the movie? They will obviously change the “Annie” name of the leading character, to give it a black feeling.

I’m not trying to sound like a racist or anything but I don’t like this idea. “The Karate Kid” remake they did was actually a very good movie, but this one is going to suck. I used to be obsessed with the “Annie” movie when I was a kid. Used to watch it all the time. Do the black people really want an “Annie” remake? This might be popular with black children, but the adults I can’t see them getting into this.

Oscars nominations…my predictions and thoughts…

Well, Oscar nominations have been finally revealed today. Here they are, here. As usual there are quite a few snubs. Michael Douglas didn’t get anything for Best Supporting Actor and Christopher Nolan didn’t get Best Director.

“Inception” was a very good movie, but to be honest with you, Christopher Nolan’s directing style to “Inception” is really nothing special. Any director can make a crazy special effects movie like that. So his Best Director is not worthy of an Oscar, in my opinion.

While I have a feeling that “The King’s Speech” will sweep everything, I’d like to see “The Social Network” or “True Grit” win Best Picture. I’d like to see “The Fighter”, “Winter’s Bone”, or “Black Swan” to win Best Picture as well, but I don’t think they will. This year’s Oscars will be unpredictable for the “Best Picture” category, but the other categories might be a little bit predictable though.

Here are my prediction winners:

BEST PICTURE – As said above, I’d like to see “The Social Network”, “True Grit”, “The Fighter” or “Black Swan” get it, but we all know “The King’s Speech” will get this one.

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE – Colin Firth for “The King’s Speech”

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE – Christian Bale for “The Fighter”

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE – Natalie Portman for “Black Swan” (Although I would love to see Jennifer Lawrence and Michelle Williams get it, I still haven’t seen “Blue Valentine yet but I really want to)

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE – Hailiee Steinfeld for “True Grit (Though I have a feeling it will go to Melissa Leo for “The Fighter”)

BEST ANIMATED FILM – Toy Story 3

ART DIRECTION – Either “Alice in Wonderland” or “Inception” will get this one.

CINEMATOGRAPHY – “Inception” will get this one, hands down.

COSTUME DESIGN – “Alice In Wonderland”

ACHIEVEMENT IN DIRECTING – Either the Coen Bros. or David Fincher will get this one.

BEST DOCUMENTARY – “Exit Through the Gift Shop” (I haven’t seen this movie yet but want to)

FILM EDITING – Either “The King’s Speech” or “The Social Network” will get this one.

BEST FOREIGN FILM – “Biutiful”

MAKEUP – “The Wolfman”

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE – Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for “The Social Network”

BEST ORIGINAL SONG -“We Belong Together” by Randy Newman “Toy Story 3”

SOUND EDITING – “Inception”

VISUAL EFFECTS – “Inception”

BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY – “The Social Network” by Aaron Sorkin

BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY – “Inception” will get this one. Even if Chris won’t get Best Director, he should be happy with this award.

There are my predictions. Feel free to agree or disagree.

Thought: Who will be the main villains for Zack Snyder’s “Superman”???

Now that we know the main villains for Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight: Rises”, we will soon know the villains for “Superman: The Man of Steel” by Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan/Warner Bros. I remember a while back they won’t be using General Zod, ’cause they shot down the rumors of General Zod this past year.

Look at this list of Superman enemies

Predict which villains you think they will use. Here are my picks…

  • Brainiac
  • Doomsday
  • Lex Luthor (again)
  • Darkseid
  • Eradicator

I personally would like to see them use, Darkseid, the most. Imagine what Zack Snyder could do with the Darkseid character.

They haven’t even casted anybody for Superman yet, so we will know who will be playing Superman first before we know who the villains are. They’ll give us more Superman news soon, I hope.

Report: Clint Eastwood set to direct his first ever musical film for the big screen, starring Beyonce…

This maybe hard to believe, but it’s true. Clint Eastwood is set to direct his first musical film for the big screen, he will do “A Star Is Born” remake. Beyonce Knowles is set to star the leading role. Many people don’t know this, but Clint Eastwood is a music lover and musician himself. Yes, that’s true. Eastwood composed music for his own films. Eastwood wrote the scores for “Mystic River”, and “Changeling”. He also wrote the song for the end credits of his own film, “Gran Torino”. That’s probably why Warner Bros. hired Clint to do the film because of his knowledge with music. Clint will probably write the music for “A Star Is Born” too.

Clint’s never done a musical before, so this is something new definitely. With the success of musical films such as “Chicago”, “Mamma Mia” and “Burlesque” winning awards, maybe Clint is trying to get into the award thing.

This may seem weird that Clint is doing this, I think he signed on to this project because this is something he always wanted to do. Make a musical.
