Chewbacca is returning for “Star Wars 7″… played by original actor Peter Mayhew…

Here is your first official casting announcement for JJ Abrams, “Star Wars Episode 7”. It has been announced that Chewbacca will be returning played by it’s original actor, Peter Mayhew. Even though the Disney chairman, Alan Horn, have said they have many actors signed on for the film… they are still being secretive on the cast. One have been confirmed by the Hollywood Reporter:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/star-wars-episode-vii-adds-694151

This is getting even closer to the fact that everybody from the original trilogy is returning. That includes Han, Leia, Luke, and Lando.

When will Disney/Lucasfilm finally announce the full cast? May the 4th possibly? They’re still being secretive on the plot and title too. It’s no surprise that Chewbacca would be in. Just shows that Harrison is definitely in ’cause there can’t be a Chewie without Han.

I’m looking forward to seeing who the new and young cast will be too. Will Lupita Nyong’o and Jesse Plemons be in?

I’d like to see the return of Boba Fett but he can’t after what happened to him in “Return of the Jedi” but I’m pretty sure they’ll create another character similar to him, though.

I hope JJ don’t let us down with this one like he did with “Star Trek Into Darkness”.

Richard Donner the man himself finally confirms, “Goonies” sequel is happening…

I hate TMZ like most people and rarely report anything from them here but I think this one is worth it. For many years, there have been talk of a “Goonies” sequel reuniting the original cast (pictured above). Will we see the return of Mikey, Mouth, Brand, Data, Chunk, Andy and Stef back on the big screen for one more time? Richard Donner says he’s gonna try to bring back everybody from the first movie.

http://www.tmz.com/2014/04/05/richard-donner-goonies-sequel-finally-happening/

The first “Goonies” is one of my favorite films of all time. I’ve seen that film too many times and it’s one of those movies you can watch over and over again. I loved that movie ever since I was a child. I’m sure we’ll get a lot of complainers and doubters about this… they will be like, “Hollywood is running out of ideas” but to be honest with you, I think a sequel is a good idea.

It’ll be interesting to see what the kids lives would be like years after the events of the first film. I think it be cool if they go on another adventure together and make another pirate discovery like they did in the first film.

Mama Fratelli and Sloth won’t be able to come back because the actors who played those characters died in real life. I can see the Fratelli brothers coming back though. It’ll be kind of cool to see Joe Pantoliano and Robert Davi back as Francis and Jake.

While most of the original cast have moved on to different things… a few of the cast are big movie stars now… there might be a big possibility of them returning. The original cast maybe older but as you can see in the photo above, they still look GREAT together. Josh Brolin would obviously be the biggest star of them all by now, though.

Another thing to keep in mind, the actor who plays Chunk is not overweight anymore so we probably won’t see the return of the truffle shuffle. 😦

I’m all for the sequel. Bring it on! \m/

“Expendables 3” trailer with footage from film is finally here…is this really the last film???

The trailer for “EX3” with Stallone, Statham, Schwarzenegger and a bunch of other iconic action stars is finally here. This film adds a mix of a new team with older stars and younger stars. Older stars such as Snipes, Ford, Gibson, and Grammer. The younger stars are Rhonda Rousey and others. Even though they are promoting this as the final Expendables movie… I don’t think this is the last one for good. It definitely looks like it’s setting up for a re-boot of some sort. I’m sure Hollywood will continue these movies even though Sly wants to move on. Look like Sly only wanted this franchise to be a trilogy and not a long-series of sequels.

Sly can’t star in every Expendables sequel, ya know? The man is getting old.

I remember Sly said in the past that he is on the verge of retirement from acting and he says he still has some acting left in him before he hangs it up. That’s why he’s been coming out with movies like crazy. When he retires from acting, he said he won’t be done with Hollywood for good. He said he wants to focus on screenwriting for other movies (he wrote the “Homefront” movie that stars Jason Statham but Sly didn’t star in) and he said he wants to do more directing. He also said he wants to get one more Rambo film off the ground too so hopefully that happens.

Enjoy the trailer. I’m looking forward to this one.

To hell with “50 Shades of Grey”, you should check out, the “Nymphomaniac” movie…

I know a lot of people like the “50 Shades of Grey” but you should check out Lars Von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac” movie instead. If you want sex in entertainment film that’s done in true form, you should check out the “Nymphomaniac” movie. I just watched “Nymphomaniac – Part 1” on the Ipad last night via-Itunes rental and it was a pretty amazing mind-blowing film. I still need to see “Part 2” which I will watch tonight, possibly. If you think TV shows like “Dexter”, “Breaking Bad” or “House of Cards” were addicting, wait until you see this one, “Nymphomaniac”.

“Part 1” tells the story of a woman who was beaten and left out in the streets so a man saves her life. This woman named Joe tells a story of her past of how she became what she is, a nympho. Meaning, a woman who has an obsession with sex.

The story and the writing is really great. It keeps you hooked right at the start of the film. Even though I don’t like Shia Labeouf too much, he was good in this role and not as annoying as his other films. I was most impressed with Christian Slater’s performance, though. Christian’s performance should be an Oscar worthy role although, I don’t think the Oscars would accept a movie like this. The movie tells different stories in different chapters.

I still have to see Part 2 and after I see it, I’ll give this a more detailed review. It’s an NC-17 film so there’s obviously gonna be tons of sex and nudity in it.

It’s recommended checking out. I’ll have to admit that I am kind of a sexual guy and enjoy getting into porn and stuff sometimes but there’s nothing wrong with that, is there? It’s called being a man. I gotta have my adult entertainment too! We all do!

Thoughts on Michael Bay’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”…

I don’t like Michael Bay movies just like most people. I hate what he did to the Transformers movies but surprisingly enough, Michael’s take on the “TMNT” looks kind of interesting to me. This trailer is getting mixed reviews. You either love it or hate it. Some are willing to give a chance and I am too. I think it looks pretty promising. I know CGI Turtles is kind of silly but if you think about it, the CGI Turtles is the right thing to do. I think it would be pretty tough for a human in costume to do all those dangerous stunts, ya know? Back in the 90’s when the original turtles were made for the big screen, the CGI technology wasn’t big back then.

With that being said, I think the new Turtles movie looks pretty cool and I’m willing to give it a chance. I’ll probably go check it out.

Keep in mind, this is just a “teaser” so the next trailer will show a lot more footage from the movie. People shouldn’t be so quick in criticizing.

I say Disney/Lucasfilm should leave Indiana Jones alone…

A scary rumor was brought up this morning that Disney/Lucasfilm is thinking about re-booting the Indiana Jones franchise with Bradley Cooper taking over Indy if the Harrison Ford starring, “Indiana Jones 5” isn’t going on. Thankfully the rumor turned out not to be true! Don’t get me wrong. Bradley Cooper is a talented actor and one of the best out there but Indy isn’t for him. Bradley is too good looking and pretty to be playing Indy anyways.

I don’t mind Disney/Lucasfilm continuing on with Star Wars but Indy can’t be done without it’s original team. I feel that Indy needs to be done none other by the original three: George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford. George Lucas no longer wants to be a part of this. It is still not yet known whether or not Spielberg wants to direct “Indy 5”. It is also not yet known whether or not Harrison is coming back although he has expressed interest in coming back in past interviews.

I love Indiana Jones. “Raiders Of the Lost Ark” will always be the best film. That film is a classic. No matter how many times Disney reboots Indy, nothing will EVER top “Raiders”. “Raiders” is one of my favorite movies ever. “Temple of Doom” was great. “The Last Crusade” was great too. “The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” was pretty good except I didn’t like Shia Labeouf being in that film and didn’t care for the Nuke the Fridge scene like most people. Other than that, “Crystal Skull” was an okay film.

Indy should continue on with a 5th movie but not under Disney. Like I repeatedly said, it needs to be done by the original three. If it’s not done by the original three, then don’t do Indy at all.

Disney being in charge of Indy is scary stuff. I can’t see the upcoming Indy movies being loaded with CGI and the films being aimed for kids.

Will Steven Spielberg still be on for directing the next Indy film? I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see. I am predicting though that Spielberg won’t direct the next one ’cause he probably can’t make it without George. Same with Harrison. He might not do it without George either.

I think they should just leave it as these 4 films. Indy having a large number of sequels would be pretty lame. Continue on with Star Wars all you want to but Indy can’t be touched. Of course they won’t. They’re gonna keep making Indy sequels and make loads of money off it.

Will I go see the next Indy movie? I don’t know. If Harrison agrees to reprise his role as Indy once again, maybe but if he’s not gonna be in the next one… then no. Depends on how good the plot is gonna be and stuff.

What I hope for in “Star Wars 7″…

Like most Star Wars fans, I too am hoping they make “Star Wars 7” a really good film. I’m still a little skeptical of JJ directing/writing it due to the disaster of “Star Trek Into Darkness” but since Lawrence Kasdan helped JJ with the writing… maybe that will help. I’m hoping the film will be pretty dark and intense. Sort of like, “Empire Strike Back”. In my opinion, I think “Empire Strike Back” was the best Star Wars film. “Star Wars 7” will probably end up being an introduction of a new trilogy. Introducing a new plot and new characters. I’m sure the Empire will still be around after 30 years of the events of Vader/Palpatine in “Return of the Jedi”.

In JJ’s Star Wars, I’m sure everything might be a little different than what George Lucas have done to them. I’m sure JJ will have some of George Lucas’s style in the new film but I’m also sure JJ will have some of his own style in it as well. There will probably be new spaceships for the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. I’m sure we’ll have different laser effects for the laser guns on spaceships and hand weapons. I’m also sure the Jedi lightsabers will be different than Lucas’s version. I’m sure there will still be stormtroopers but JJ will for sure give the stormtroopers a new armor and new design.

Keep in mind that the new trilogy will be taken place 30 years after the original trilogy so there’s probably gonna be all new technology in the film. With today’s technology in film making, everything’s gonna be different.

I think I know why they had to set “Star Wars Episode 7” 30 years after “Return of the Jedi”. I mean, think about it, right? It helps explains the aging of Han, Leia and Luke since Harrison, Carrie, and Mark are older now. So there’s definitely a 100% chance that they are in.

I’m sure “Star Wars 7” will keep the opening Star Wars crawl with the three paragraphs crawling into space with the main theme playing. I’m sure John Williams will kill it with the score for the rest of the movie.

I hope this film will be action-packed. It probably will be. I also hope this film will have the same feeling as the original trilogy totally ignoring the prequels.

We had to suffer through three bad prequels thanks to George Lucas so Star Wars needs to be GREAT again. I pray they do a good job with this one.

I have no idea what the plot is going to be yet but since this is focused on younger characters and Adam Driver’s villain character will be similar to Darth Vader, I think I might be figuring it out a little bit. I think what the plot may be is that after the events of Vader/Palpatine in the last film, there is still Empire around and they vow to get revenge at Luke Skywalker. Adam Driver’s villain character (who ever that may be) is desperate to find Luke (that’s why Hammill have to be back) and wants to destroy Luke after what he did to Vader/Palpatine. The Empire is still after Luke (who would be a Jedi by now) in the film so he has other young Jedi hopefuls to help him and protect him.

Only thing though, we had this helping to train young kids hoping to be Jedi’s plot too many times. They had that plot idea in the original trilogy and in the prequels so no need to rehash that idea again. I think it’s preferably that the kids are already Jedi’s. That would make it more interesting. Young Jedi’s help fight off the Empire with Luke’s help.

Will there be a new death star in the film? Possibly but the Rebel Alliance will want to destroy the death star again so no need to rehash that plot idea as well.

In the new film, I’m sure we’ll get plenty of space battles and lightsaber combat. They’ll make the film exciting and fun, I hope.

Every time I go see a Star Wars film, the audience will stand up and cheer a lot. We need to feel that with this film so hopefully they give us a reason to stand up and cheer again.

Will Ben Kenobi the ghost come back in this one? I’m not sure… it’s going to be hard to get Sir Alec Guiness’s voice-overs but I’m sure they’ll figure something out. They’ll give Ben Kenobi a cameo of some sort. Yoda will probably return but as a ghost this time.

It’ll be interesting to see how they pull this off. As you know, JJ Abrams is obsessed with secrecy. He is secretive with all of his projects and he’ll do the same with Star Wars. Reveal a little bit at a time. Once again, I pray they do a good job. I wanna like Star Wars again ’cause I haven’t been liking it for a long while.

Ivan Reitman is not directing “Ghostbusters 3” due to the passing of Harold Ramis…

Ivan Reitman, the man who directed the first two “Ghostbusters” has announced that he will not be directing the 3rd Ghostbusters due to the passing of his friend, Harold Ramis. Ivan feels that he cannot make the film without Harold because those two were an important part of the first two films. However, Ivan isn’t done with the film for good ’cause he is staying on as producer to help them. He’s going to help Sony replace a director. This is nothing personal for Ivan, he’s just doing this in honor of his friend, Harold. They still have a script for the film and Ivan hints that this movie will be more like the first one.

More on the story here:

http://www.deadline.com/2014/03/ghostbusters-movie-going-forward-without-ivan-reitman-sony/

Now that Ivan is not directing this and Harold is no longer with us, I have a feeling Bill won’t be doing it at all now. I still wouldn’t rule out Bill just yet though, he still has time to make a decision. I can’t blame Bill for being skeptical. He’s skeptical just like the rest of us. Bill just wants G3 to be just as good as the first one so he’s taking his time to make a decision which is good on him. Ya never know though, maybe Bill will have a change of heart and say “yes”. We’ll have to wait and see.

Is Harrison Ford too old for Star Wars??? I’d say no…

Whenever Harrison Ford gets confirmed to reprise his role as Han Solo for “Star Wars 7”, I have a feeling a lot of people are gonna criticize his age for this. They always criticize Harrison’s age. People did it when he agreed to return to Indiana Jones, “The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” movie. I don’t think age is a problem when it comes to Star Wars. I think Harrison can handle action scenes just fine ’cause remember Harrison was in “The Expendables 3” film and I’m pretty sure he’ll do some action scenes in that film. Harrison is still doing his own stunts in other action films. On top of that, there have been other Star Wars actors who were aging at the time doing their own stunts: Sir Alec Guinness, Christopher Lee, etc. They were doing some pretty physical stuff too!

I know the new Star Wars films are going to focus on young characters as the main stars but Han Solo is probably gonna end up helping the young Jedi’s out in some way. Will we see the return of the Millennium Falcon? I’m hoping for that too.

Harrison maybe getting older but I’m pretty sure he’ll still kill it as the Han Solo role. I’m sure we’ll still get the same wisecracking humorous smuggler like he was in the original trilogy — the only difference is that he’ll be a little older. Other questions: Will Han be married to Leia by this time? Will they have kids together? From the looks of things… it’s looking like the new film may focus on a family.

Even though Harrison, Carrie and Mark haven’t played these characters in many years… I’m sure all three will kill it. They’ll do a great job, I’m sure. When will we ever get a confirmation on whether or not they’ll be in? I think they just did confirm it by saying “familiar faces”, they just didn’t name names yet. They will soon, though.

Kev

“Star Wars Episode VII” will begin filming in May….

Disney and Lucasfilm announced they will start filming “Star Wars Episode 7” in May later this year. They don’t reveal the title and the plot yet but they finally confirm the news that “Episode 7” will be taken place after “Return of the Jedi”. Which is no surprise ’cause everybody already knew that. Even though they don’t announce any casting they do say; however, they will focus on younger casting and “some familiar faces”. When they say “familiar faces”, that means we’re definitely going to see some characters from the earlier Star Wars films so that’s a definite hint that Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker maybe returning. Maybe other familiar Star Wars characters too:  Lando, C3p0, R2, Chewbacca, Yoda, Ben Kenobi, etc. Whatever they do, though, I hope they don’t bring back Jar Jar, ha ha!

Even though the new casting have not been announced there have been some names leaked to the web already like Lupita Nyong’o, Adam Driver, Jesse Plemons, etc. They’ll probably get confirmed soon.

I really hope they make this a great film and praying this won’t be as bad as the prequels. It seems that JJ is a huge Star Wars fan like the rest of us so he would know what the fans would want. There’s gonna be tons of lens flare and CGI yes so hopefully they don’t mess this film up.
