Report: Jonathan Demme to direct Stephen King’s “11/22/63″…

Stephen King’s next book “11/22/63” is not out in stores yet, but the book is already being made into a movie for the big screen, and the film will be directed by Jonathan Demme. The man who brought us, “Silence Of the Lambs”.

The story for “11/22/63” is about a 35 year old English teacher named, Jake Epping, who tries to go back in time to save JFK’s life from the assassination. The book is set to hit bookstores everywhere, November 8th of this year.

Deadline, reports.

To read excerpts of “11/22/63” visit Stephen King’s website.

What do you think? Will Jake save John F. Kennedy’s life? I think so yes. I think King will make JFK survive the assassination so someone else will play Kennedy for the film.

King’s newest books have been really crazy and whacky as of late. This book sounds even whackier.

I’ll probably buy this book when it comes out, sure. I buy every new book Stephen comes out with. The book must be that good if it’s already being made into a film. I wonder what made King go political all of a sudden? He has been staying away from horror as of late which is the genre he is most known for. He’s been writing a lot of sci-fi lately.

I wish he would write a horror novel again.

Report: Dave Mustaine wants to reunite with Metallica for a supergroup collaboration but James Hetfield is not down with it…

Now that the Metallica and Megadeth feud is over, hatchets buried, people are expecting the two bands to work a lot more musically in the future. When they get done with the Big 4 shows for good, what does Dave wants to do next? He is hoping to form a Metallica/Megadeth supergroup collaboration that will include members: Dave Mustaine, Dave Ellefson, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. Even though most of the band members agreed with the project, the only guy who didn’t want in was James Hetflied. James is not all for the project, he doesn’t want to do it. Even though James doesn’t want to do the project, Dave said he’s going to keep begging him until he says, “Yes”.

More on it, here.

Well, I’m sure the Metallica haters will accuse Dave of being desperate. I’m sure they will accuse this of not being a supergroup but being the original members of Metallica. I’m sure they will accuse the guys in Metallica of firing Dave again and the feud will start back up. Blah blah blah blah… I disagree with all of it.

You see. The feud is all over and done with. They’re all good and cool. Dave and James get along fine like brothers. I don’t think they will fight ever again.

I can see why James wouldn’t want to do it though, because Metallica is about to release a new album with Lou Reed and they don’t want this Megadeth/Metallica group to overshadow Metallica’s new album. This project won’t happen right away, but maybe down the road whenever James have a change of heart with it?

I think this is a cool idea. I don’t think Metallica will start shit with Dave ever again. 30 years ago, the guys in Metallica were drunks and they were very much trouble makers themselves. The guys in Metallica are not like that anymore. They’ve grown up and acting more mature now. Best of all, both Megadeth and Metallica got clean with alcohol and drugs. All that drama years ago, alcohol and drugs were part of the blame.

Dave deserves another chance with Metallica, guys. Give him a break. It’s about rebuilding friendships and re-filling the history with Metallica that Dave never had. Megadeth and Metallica will probably join forces someday, but under a different band name, probably. I hope the project happens, someday and I’m all for it!

BREAKING NEWS: Gavin Degraw attacked in streets of NYC…

Singer/songwriter Gavin Degraw was rushed to a hospital after he was brutally beaten in the streets of NYC late on a Sunday night. Gavin lives in NYC and he’s currently on tour with Maroon 5 with his next show scheduled to be at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. this coming Tuesday. Nobody knows how badly he was beaten or why they attacked him.

TMZ, reports.

No matter what you all think of the guy or his music, he’s still a human being. He’s an innocent man who didn’t deserve this. My bet that he was mugged. Maybe the attackers were trying to take his money or whatever valuables he has on him.

Never walk the streets of major cities alone, folks. Especially late at night where there’s a good chance, you’re gonna get mugged.

It’s sad what’s happening with celebrities lately. A lot of celebrities are getting beatings, they even get stalkers by obsessed fans, etc. I’ve been saying for a long time now in this blog, that fame is a dangerous world. It’s true if you think about it.

So MTV celebrates 30 years of being on TV but I’m having a hard time celebrating it…

I remember when I was a kid, all I would do when I get back home from school is watch videos on MTV the rest of the evening. MTV used to be nothing but music in the 80’s and early 90’s, but MTV is not music anymore. It’s nothing but garbage reality shows now so it’s hard to celebrate their 30 years, that I just don’t care. I used to LOVE MTV back in the old days but now I hate the station.

The only good thing about MTV today is that they’re bringing, Beavis & Butthead back, that’s the only reason I’ll start watching MTV again.

I miss old school MTV. I miss watching the 80’s hair metal and 90’s grunge eras. MTV still does play videos but mostly shit videos. I’ll celebrate the “history” of MTV, but I won’t celebrate how they are now.

If it weren’t for MTV, I would have never heard of Twisted Sister and Dire Straits because it was MTV that made those two bands for what they were.

BREAKING NEWS: Kings of Leon US tour cancelled due to Caleb Followill’s health problems…

If you local readers are looking forward to seeing Kings of Leon at SPAC this year in Saratoga Springs, you’re out of luck, because the band has officially cancelled their US tour, due to Caleb Followill (guitarist/singer) having health issues.

The band announced it at their official site, here.

I’m going to have to agree with everyone else, that it definitely has something to do with his drug & alcohol problem. I hope he gets his act together, or he’s going to end up like Amy Winehouse.

Report: Scott Weiland wants to rejoin Velvet Revolver!!!

Scott Weiland have been fired from Velvet Revolver a few years back due to having a bad attitude, being a drunk and having an ego problem, but things seem to be doing okay with him and the band now. Scott claims he have patched things up with the rest of the guys in Velvet Revolver. The band is getting along with him fine again. They still keep in touch like brothers. Scott revealed that he wants to rejoin the band for a few shows if possible. The other guys in the band are actually taking it in consideration ’cause they are having a tough time trying to find a new singer (they haven’t found anyone yet). Matt Sorum admits that it’s really hard to replace Scott.

Look like they can’t find a different vocalist that would fit the style of their music. Only Scott’s voice can fit the music, so Scott is pretty much the star of the band, he can’t be replaced.

I’m sure everybody will accuse Scott of starting trouble again when he rejoins the band, but I don’t think that will happen. He rejoined Stone Temple Pilots and their latest run seemed to go fine with no problems. I think it’ll be okay if Scott rejoined Velvet Revolver. I like Velvet Revolver even though I haven’t bought their albums. I did hear all of their hits on the radio though.

Happy Birthday Jerry Garcia!!!

August is a special month for Deadheads. Why? Because August 1st is the day Jerry Garcia was born in the year 1942 and Jerry died several days later in 1995 of the same month! If Jerry was still alive, he would have been 69 right now. If Jerry was still alive, I’m pretty sure he would still be doing what he loved doing best. Playing with the Grateful Dead. If he was still around, I’m sure the Grateful Dead would still be together today, making albums and touring like they always did. Sometimes I wondered what it would be like if the Grateful Dead with Jerry fronting was still here today. I’m sure they wouldn’t lose their popularity.

I’m a pretty big Grateful Dead fan like all the others. Some people don’t see it, but yes, I’m a Deadhead. I’ve never seen the Grateful Dead in concert when Jerry was alive but I’ve wished I did. RIP Jerry. He maybe gone, but his legacy still lives on to this day!

Report: Comic legend, Jerry Lewis, publicly bashes “American Idol”…

Jerry Lewis, the legendary comic, is on a promotional tour to promote his upcoming documentary film, and he openly bashed the singing competition series, “American Idol” to critics. He says all the singers who compete for the show are McDonald’s wipeouts. He accused them of working for McDonald’s and now they work for reality TV. He also says the industry destroyed itself.

Read Jerry’s full thoughts, here.

Yes, finally someone’s making sense and telling the truth. The same goes for all the other singing competitions like “The Voice”, “X-Factor” or “America’s Got Talent”.

I know quite a few local singers in the Albany area that try to audition for these shows, but why? You don’t need to get on these shows for fame. I’ll admit that I used to watch “Idol” when it first started, but I stopped watching since the 3rd season got over with. I don’t watch it anymore. All these singing competition shows are garbage. You don’t need them to get further in your music career.

Just ask Sean Rowe and Phantogram who both got signed to bigger labels without “American Idol”.
