Brock praises NBC’s “The Event”!!!

For the past two weeks, I’ve been recording “The Event” on my DVR since WWE RAW is on Monday nights. I’ve seen the first two episodes of the new primtime drama show, “The Event” and so far, I’ve been very impressed with the show. It is way better than JJ Abrams, “Undercovers”. It’s about a young man named, Sean Walker, whose girlfriend gets kidnapped and goes missing. Sean is doing whatever it takes to find her. She was taken from a Carribean cruise when he was getting ready to propose to her. As he tries his best to find her, he gets trapped into an assassination plot and he’s about to expose the biggest cover up in U.S. history.

This show “The Event” is just as good as “Friday Night Lights”. I didn’t think any of the new upcoming NBC primtime drama shows were gonna be any good, but I actually liked, “The Event” quite a lot. The writing is very intelligent and insightful. It mixes drama, romance, science fiction, suspense, and mystery, all in one. I think Jason Ritter who plays Sean is a good actor. So far, not a bad show at all. Hopefully it stays good throughout the first season in order for me to keep watching. I’ll continue to watch this show weekly, ’cause I’m already curious on how this “Event” is going to end.

I can’t stand primetime NBC, but sometimes a good show will come around, and “The Event” is a good one. No complaints so far.

BREAKING NEWS: Jeff Zucker was fired from NBC, he didn’t quit…

There, how does it feel like to be fired now, asshole? Reports going around that Jeff Zucker was fired by Comcast, since Comcast took over NBC studios now.

Read the article here at, deadline.

Keep in mind, that this was the sleazy douchebag who kicked, Conan O’ Brien off of NBC. Jeff was the one who started all this drama with Conan. Good fucking riddance! It’s about time! Conan is probably celebrating, raising a glass of champagne in the air.

This is great news!

“Undercovers” premiere, brief review…

So I just saw, NBC’s new primetime show, “Undercovers” created by JJ Abrams. Just wanted to give it a quick review. The show was pretty cool. I actually liked it. I hope the show does well and hope it will stay on for another season or two, if the first season does well. The show stars, Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. It’s about a married couple who are CIA agents, they both get a job on trying to find a missing man that was kidnapped. The show had action, it was pretty violent to be shown that early in the hour, plus the show was too sexy to be shown in 8 p.m. In my opinion, I think the show should be aired later at night, due to violence and sex. There’s no nudity of course, but it does show a half naked woman in lingerie throughout most of the first episode. The show had a James Bond and Jason Bourne feel, except this show is starring black people. I thought the show was entertaining and I’ll probably watch it every Wednesday night.

Thought: See what “Friday Night Lights” is doing to it’s cast?

“Friday Night Lights” is such a popular TV show that it’s giving the show’s cast members bigger opportunities for bigger film roles. Want some examples?

Taylor Kitsch landed a role as Bandit for “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and now he’s filming the leading role in “Battleship”. Connie Britton got herself a big role as Dr. Holbrook in the “Nightmare On Elm St.” remake. Kyle Chandler recently just got a leading role for JJ Abrams sci-fi flick, “Super 8”.

I’m sure big movie roles will happen to other FNL cast members too. I’m sure big movie role opportunities will come for Minka Kelly, Aimee Teegarden, Zach Gilford, Scott Porter, and Adrianne Palicki as well. The whole FNL cast are talented actors, they’ll all get big movie careers up ahead. They already shot, FNL Season 5, that’s why some of them are already working on films.

Report: Tim Allen to return to primetime television in fall of 2011???

Former “Home Improvement” star, Tim Allen, maybe making a huge comeback to primetime TV in the fall of 2011. In the early 90’s the actor was made famous for the hit sitcom, “Home Improvement”, back in the days when DVR’s weren’t around. After “Home Improvement” was cancelled, Tim Allen went on to become a huge movie star. His first film when leaving “Home Improvement” was the “Santa Clause”, then comes “Toy Story”. He became well known playing Santa and Buzz Lightyear in the movie business. He also starred in a slew of other comedies such as “For Richer or Poorer”, “Galaxy Quest”, “Big Trouble”, “Joe Somebody”, “Christmas with the Kranks”,  and of course, “Wild Hogs”.

Tim is currently working with Greg Daniels, who is one of the writers/producers of “The Office” and “Parks & Recreation”.

More on it here.

Is this a hint that Tim Allen is on his way to NBC? Will he actually have a role in “The Office” or “Parks & Recreation”? Maybe Tim will take over as boss in “the Office”,  when Michael Scott leaves? I’m all for Tim returning to the small screen. He’s a talented guy and funny as hell!

BREAKING NEWS: Universal Studios will bring Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” to the big screen, NBC will bring it to the small screen on TV as well…

Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” series has finally found it’s home studios to make the books into live action films, since JJ Abrams studio company, Bad Robot dropped out and returned the rights to, Stephen King. What big name studio have bought the rights to the “Dark Tower” series? Why, that’s none other than Universal Studios. The same studios where Ron Howard has been making movies through for years. Universal plans to make the “Dark Tower” series into a trilogy for the big screen, while NBC will make them into TV series as well.

Ron Howard, will be behind both the movies and the TV series of the “Dark Tower” as he is committed to direct the first “Dark Tower” movie for the big screen based on the first novel, “The Gunslinger”. How will they do both the movie and the TV series? The plan is, they will make the first Dark Tower movie for the big screen first, then they will make the second feature into a TV series. I guess that’s how they are going to do it, do the TV series in between the big screen sequels? Nice idea!

And of course, Howard and the crew plans on finding a big name star to play, Roland Deschain of Gilead.

Read the full article, here at Deadline.

Dayam, a full trilogy and then a TV series? That sounds like a lot of work! Now that the “Dark Tower” series is finally on it’s way, I’m sure everybody online will be naming their choices on who to play, Roland Deschain. I’ve been saying that Hugh Jackman should get the role and I still stand by it. Gerard Butler wouldn’t be a bad choice either.

Although, I have a bad feeling that Ron would probably get Russell Crowe, again. I’m sure we will find out who will play Roland soon.

I hope Ron makes these really good ’cause I absolutely love the “Dark Tower” books. I’ve read every single one of them. I’m pretty sure Ron will be working with, Stephen King, himself closely on this so Ron can stay true to the novels. It’s about time “Dark Tower” is being made. Hope they don’t mess it up. This is great news!

BREAKING NEWS: CNN admits Piers Morgan taking over for Larry King is true!!!

After months of many rumours hit the web that “America’s Got Talent” judge, Piers Morgan could possibly take over Larry King Live, CNN admits that the news is true. Piers will be taking over in January. Piers himself released a statement saying it’s a dream come true for him and something he always wanted to do was to take over Larry King.

Pierse doesn’t plan to leave “AGT” as he plans to do both shows, “AGT” and “CNN Live” at the same time, since both shows are in the Los Angeles area.

Oh my! I can see Piers interviewing a lot of competitors from “America’s Got Talent” on his show. Don’t be surprised if the 10 year old opera singer, Jackie Evancho, could be his first interview guest in January.

Report: Yet another SNL star leaving to focus on full time movie career? This time it’s Will Forte’s turn!

Yet, another SNL star is leaving. When former SNL stars leave over the years, they move on to become huge movie stars that they are today. It worked for Steve Martin, Martin Short, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, etc. That’s what happens when SNL stars start to become too famous for the show. They are popular enough to go on to movies. This time it’s Will Forte’s turn to leave for a big career.

I’m pretty sure the “Macgruber” film will get more sequels so he will want to work on that too. He’ll either do more movies or go on a different TV show. I think he wants to focus on a full time movie career and that’s what it’s looking like.

Keep in mind that SNL is pretty much here to help launch comedians huge film careers.

I’m pretty surprised Seth Myers, Fred Armisen and Andy Sandberg are still working for SNL, because those three guys I mentioned are getting popularity pretty quickly. Those guys will leave at some point, I’m sure.

Report: “Friday Night Lights” characters Jason Street and Tyra Collette to return to season 5!!!!

Well it seems that NBC already filmed, season 5 for “Friday Night Lights”. We have some good news and some bad news about next season. Lets get the good news out of the way first. The good news is that FNL characters Jason Street (Scott Porter) and Tyra Collette (Adrianne Palicki) will be returning throughout most of season 5. The bad news is “Friday Night Lights – Season 5” will be the last season for good and also more bad news, it looks like Minka Kelly who plays Lyla didn’t agree to return to Season 5 either. Maybe she’ll return in an episode or two but not throughout the entire season.

It seems that Tim Riggins won’t be released from prison at all for Season 5 as it looks like they filmed scenes with Tim Riggins in jail. Will Tim Riggins stay in jail throughout Season 5? Not to worry Tim Riggins fans. I’m sure the Tim Riggins character will get released from prison sometime toward the end of the season.

Brock reviews “Friday Night Lights – Season 4” ***SPOILERS***

Well here it is, “Friday Night Lights” Season 4 is over already. It has came and gone. I must say that this season was a HUGE improvement from the first three seasons. The first three seasons were pretty good but the show needed a lot more improvements in the writing. I thought “Season 4” of FNL was the most powerful and emotional season of them all. No complaints at all for Season 4, as I thought it was the best season so far.

The Season begins with Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) no longer being coach of the Dillon Panthers. So Coach Eric forms his own football team called, the Lions instead. Eric Taylor loves football too much that he can’t give it up and wants to show his passion for football by continuing with coaching. In the beginning of the series focuses on Coach Eric struggling to keep the Lions together. There is a handful of new players for the new team, except the only returning player from the earlier seasons being part of the team is Landry Clarke, who was a former Panther from the earlier seasons. There is a new character named, Vince, who is black who Coach Eric tries to help him from getting in trouble with the law so he could stay with the team because Eric is impressed with Vince’s running skills. Vince is a troubled kid who is a criminal and he forms a friendship with Coach Eric. Later on, in the season, Eric almost came this close to losing the Lions team because he couldn’t get along with his team mates.

Then, Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) came along and helped Eric get his team back. Tim Riggins becomes friends with a girl named Becky and she and her mother offered him a place to stay in the trailer next to their home. Becky confesses that she is pregnant to Tim, and that a character named Luke is the father of the baby. She wants to have an abortion because she is afraid of what her mother will do if she finds out about it. Tim takes Becky to Tami Taylor for her help. Becky then decided she wants to keep the baby after learning from Tami’s advice. Tami learns that Luke’s mother is trying to get Tami fired from principal as Dillon high over this abortion thing. All of a sudden, the entire town of Dillon hates the Taylors for this abortion thing she tried to help Becky with. Now Tami is in danger of getting fired of being principal of Dillon High. Becky wants a romantic relationship with Tim Riggins, but Tim says no because he still have feelings for Lyla Garrity (Minka Kelly). Then a love triangle drama breaks out over this. Lyla is not in this season because the character is away for college, but Lyla did visit Dillon for a few episodes.

Billy Riggin’s wife, Mindy, is pregnant and is also about to have a baby soon. Billy is Tim’s brother. Billy and Tim needed money to help take care of Mindy’s baby. They couldn’t really think of anyway to make more money, so they put on a stripper party at the Riggin’s home to benefit money from that. After that, Tim and Billy still needed money. Tim tries to get a job somewhere out in town with the help of Becky, but no job would hire Tim at all. So Tim learns that Billy is at his car garage. Billy is working on stripping cars that were stolen and to sell the car parts for money, which is something known as illegal trafficking. Tim decides to help his brother out so Tim can make more money off of that which is a crime.

After Billy’s wife, Mindy, finally had her baby. Tim begins to feel like a happier person again because he is now an Uncle. At the same time, Tim feels terrible because he was caught and arrested with the trafficking crime earlier. The season ends with Tim turning himself into police and he’ll blame himself for the crime. Tim wanted to keep his brother, Billy, out of prison so he can be there for his newborn son. Tim was willing to go to prison instead to save his brother’s family. Which this is a perfect way to end the season.

This season had some good story lines, but the story line I loved the most, was the Tim Riggins storyline. In the earlier seasons, pretty much everyone in Dillon hated Tim Riggins, he was a character who was always drunk and a bit of a womanizer. This season, made the Tim Riggins character very special. Everybody saw Tim as a drunken loser but Tim wanted to prove that he can be a good guy and can help other people. This season Tim pretty much helped everybody. He helped Coach Eric, Luke, Tami Taylor, Becky, Billy, etc. For all this, Tim went to prison ’cause he was willing to do it.

It was a pretty impressive season. The show isn’t completely over, as there will still be Season 5 for next year. Season 5 will end the show completely. I’m sure Taylor Kitsch will be back for Season 5 and it will be interesting to see how he is going to be released from prison for next season. This season has been Kyle and Connie’s best acting.

I look forward for more FNL next year!
