Bringing Adam Levine into this J-Lo and Shakira debate is silly and stupid, now here’s a rant about it…

This post might be kind of controversial and might upset a few but I don’t give a flyin’ two shits. It’s my blog so I post whatever I want.

Yes, I did watch the Superbowl Halftime performance with J-Lo and Shakira… was the performance inappropriate like everyone is saying? Yes, it absolutely was and here’s why… the NFL Superbowl games is something for the whole family to watch so that means people of all ages will be watching the game and that includes children. I find it a huge mistake of the NFL booking all these female pop-stars ’cause you can betcha there will be a plenty of booty shaking and twerking all over… stripper pole dancing, inappropriate dance moves with the other dancers such as “grinding” and all that stuff. Well, you get the deal… we’ve seen all that with female pop stars over the years… w/ Janet, Katy Perry, etc.

This isn’t something we should be watching on family TV at all. Sure, nothing wrong with women dressing sexy and doing all kinds of dirty dancing on stage but leave that for the strip clubs. We don’t need to see that on a family friendly sporting event. Not only that children will be watching, there will also be plenty of older people ages 50 or older who don’t need to be seeing all that.

Yeah, Shakira and J-Lo showed a bit too much skin and their asses were hanging out a bit but at least they had their breasts covered, I’ll give them that.

Since the day after the Superbowl, all I’m seeing now is leftist-women defending the Superbowl performance… saying all kinds of bullshit like Shakira and J-Lo are courageous for dressing sexy over 40 and calling them “courageous”. Leftist women in social media are trying all they can to defend that performance and I laughed when they brought Adam Levine into it. That’s the best defense they can come up with? Their complaint was that Adam Levine took off his shirt and performed shirtless yet there is no outrage.

Hmmmmm… why was there no outrage when Adam Levine performed shirtless when Maroon 5 played the Superbowl? Well, it’s completely normal and completely legal for men to go shirtless in public. A man’s chest is not a private part… a woman’s chest is. So there is nothing wrong with Adam performing with no shirt. It was pretty normal. I thought it was silly that Adam Levine was brought into this when it’s completely unfair and wrong… I look at it as feminist women just showing their hatred for men and nothing more.

These are the same women that tell men to stop objectifying women… yep, the same women that tell men to stop treating them like objects.. because of feminism we can’t say how hot a woman is anymore and we can no longer flirt with them or else we’ll get yelled at by them or worse get slapped with a sexual harassment charge… thanks to all this “me too” stuff going on… trying to destroy everything about the “man”.

Yet these leftist women are defending these pop stars looking like strippers.

Yup, these leftist woman are such “champions” for women and don’t want them to be treated like objects but the pop music industry objectifies women all the time. It’s all over the industry. It’s not just in music. Objectifying women is all over the movies, the porn industry and everywhere else you look at.

These are the same women that begs for equal pay and thinks abortion is health care.

I have no problem with leftist women enjoying that performance… that’s their prerogative but when they brought Adam Levine into this that’s what bothered me and now I feel like I have to rant about it.

Yeah they are such champions for women… yell at men to stop objectifying them, yet they have no problem with the NFL objectifying Shakira and J-Lo. Hmmmm… something wrong with that picture here.

Yes, I did watch the Superbowl last night and it was great… most exciting Superbowl game in a long long time…

I stopped watching the Superbowl for a few years since all that kneeling to the National Anthem was going on in the NFL. Now that the NFL seems to have put a stop to all that kneeling completely it looks like, I thought I would give them a chance.

I ended up watching the game last night. Watched the whole thing from start to finish… watched all the commercials too and yes watched the Superbowl Halftime show with Shakira & J-Lo.

As far as the game itself goes the 49’ers vs. The Chiefs, it really was a pretty thrilling game like everyone was saying. It definitely was one of the most exciting Superbowl games in a long long time. I never was much of a fan of the NFL in the past but watching that game last night made me respect the NFL again just a little more and I might watch more NFL next year. Both teams the 49’ers vs. The Chiefs, made sure the game wasn’t going to be boring at all. Both teams played really hard yesterday evening and both teams were on fire. Both teams really showed that they really were in it to “win it” and did whatever it took to win it.

Every Superbowl game is not always gonna be great, some are gonna be great, some are gonna be okay and some are gonna be bad. Well last night’s game is gonna go down in the history books for sure. I knew it was going to be a very close game and you never knew who was going to win that one. In the beginning, I thought for sure that the 49’ers were going to win but the Chiefs caught up toward the end and destroyed them bad. That was a shocker really. The game was really good and just made me appreciate football a little more. Glad I watched it ’cause if it turned out to be a boring as hell game, I probably would have walked away from the TV to do something else instead but since the game ended up turning out so exciting, I watched it from start to finish.

Who was I rooting for? I didn’t care really. I thought both teams did a great job. I was happy for both of them so I’m not on one side at all.

As far as the commercials go, there were some pretty cool movie trailers like Fast 9, Top Gun: Maverick and Black Widow… which I look forward to seeing all three of them.

As far as my thoughts on the Superbowl Halftime performance with J-Lo and Shakira, the only thing that I liked about it was that I liked that Shakira honored Led Zeppelin by having the violins play the Kashmir riff. I caught that and thought it was cool. Other than that, though, it was the worst Superbowl halftime performance I’ve ever seen. Guess I’m not into that type of music much.

I do agree with what everyone is saying about that performance being too inappropriate for the NFL… ya know, all the booty shaking, the pole dancing, the twerking and them looking like strippers. I’ll have another post about this soon. It’s gonna be rant and gotta get it out of me.

Other than that, it was a great Superbowl game for the most part.

Today marks 61 years since the Day The Music Died…

Day-the-music-died.jpg

61 years ago today, the music world went through a tragedy when 3 young legendary musicians were killed in a plane crash after they played a concert at the Surf Ballroom for the Winter Dance Party tour in Clear Lake, Iowa. The plane crash killed The Big Bopper (28), Buddy Holly (22) and Ritchie Valens (17).

The Winter Dance Party tour started with several acts on the bill that included Buddy Holly as the headliner, the Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens and Dion & The Belmonts. After the acts performed their concert in Clear Lake, Iowa… they were getting prepared to leave for the next show as part of the Winter Dance Party tour.

Buddy ended up getting a small plane so he can have his new band at the time travel on the plane with him to the next show… Buddy didn’t want to end up dealing with a tour bus. Even though Buddy knew weather conditions weren’t that great, he got a plane anyways. Buddy’s previous band The Crickets broke up and he formed a new band that included country star, Waylon Jennings (who passed in 2002). Waylon came pretty close to travelling on that plane with Buddy but ended up switching his seat with Ritchie Valens and another member of Buddy’s band, Tommy Allsup ended up switching his seat with the Big Bopper who had the flu at the time. Later on that night after seating arrangements were made on the plane, the plane crashed killing all on board including the pilot.

This tragic incident may have happened years ago but the music world will never forget. We still remember even to this day as it continues to be a talked about incident through social media whenever Feb. 3rd comes around. Even though the Big Bopper, Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens are gone, their music will be still alive today.

Some of you may ask, will there ever be a live album or a live DVD/BluRay release of the Winter Dance Party 1959 Concert of the Clear Lake, Iowa show? No. I don’t think you’ll ever see a recording released of that show ’cause why? If the show was recorded, I’m sure the industry would have released the show a long time ago. The show was never recorded. They never had that kind of technology back then. It would be cool as hell if that show got an album release but it’ll never happen unfortunately. There are plenty of photos of the Winter Dance Party 1959 concert online so that’s the closest you’ll ever get.

I can totally picture the concert in my head, though. I’m pretty sure all the bands killed it that night and I’m sure it was a blast. I’m sure that night there were a lot of dancing, screaming and hollering from the audience. Since Buddy Holly was the headliner of the tour, I’m sure he played the longest set playing all the hits. I’m sure all the women in the audience were going absolutely nuts when Ritchie hit the stage, though. It had to be a good night for all the bands.

All three of these musicians were too young, especially Ritchie who was only 17 at the time. When Ritchie was alive back then, he may have been 17 but he certainly didn’t look like it… he looked a lot older. While I admire the music of the Big Bopper… I’m more of a fan of Buddy and Ritchie. I’m a huge fan of both Buddy and Ritchie.

I’ve been listening to Ritchie’s music ever since I was a child and I still listen to Ritchie’s music. He’s just that one artist that you’ll never get tired of listening to ’cause Ritchie’s music was beautiful stuff. It’s a shame that his life and music career was cut short ’cause he would have been something. I think Valens would have been just as big as the Beatles and Elvis. When Ritchie was alive, he was still an up and coming star so he wasn’t too well-known then. The music of Buddy and Ritchie still lives on today, the same for the Big Bopper.

Over the years, a lot of bands & artists covered Buddy Holly’s songs like the Grateful Dead, the Rolling Stones, etc. The Buddy song “Not Fade Away” has been covered so many times by famous bands and musicians. Even today, Buddy is still extremely popular in America and we still love his music.

Every Feb. 3rd, I’ll always do a tribute for “The Day the Music Died” ’cause I’ve always been interested in this story. The story was widely depicted in the movie “La Bamba” which is streamable on Netflix now as that is one of my favorite films.

In my opinion, the Music didn’t really die on Feb. 3rd ’cause Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valsn kept rock n’ roll going. Rock n’ roll wouldn’t have been here if it wasn’t for them. They invented rock n’ roll, in my opinion.

Eric Bischoff deserves to be in Hall of Fame with the nWo… here’s why…

Bischoff-NWO-1.jpg

While it’s exciting that the NWO is going in the WWE Hall of Fame this year for this year’s Wrestlemania, it is a bummer that Eric Bischoff is not going to be included in the induction when he should. Why should Bischoff be included? Well for starters, Eric created the iconic stable/wrestling faction himself. The nWo aka the New World Order was all his idea and it was all his idea to have Hogan, Hall and Nash as the group’s first three guys. Hall and Nash were the first announced in the group but they got started as the Outsiders at first then Hulk Hogan was revealed as the third guy later which was a historic moment in WCW. That was when Hogan turned heel for the first time which was important in wrestling history.

Other reasons Bischoff deserves to be in the induction with the NWO at the Hall of Fame is that Bischoff was the leader of the group on WCW TV back in the day. Bischoff had a lot of historic moments with the group back in the 90’s and early 2000’s years when WCW used to be around. It was Bischoff that helped the nWo become the iconic wrestling faction that it is today. The NWO are the greatest wrestling faction/group of all time.

I’m trying to watch every episode of WCW Monday Nitro on the WWE Network still and all this NWO stuff is pretty historic TV.

Why isn’t Bischoff in the induction when he should? Does he and McMahon hate each other in real life??? I don’t know… since Vince fired Bischoff from running the RAW brand behind the scenes. Not sure the reasons and Bischoff himself doesn’t know the real reasons behind it. I listen to Bischoff’s podcast 83 weeks but it seems that he isn’t upset at not being included.

Everybody wants Bischoff to be in the WWE Hall of Fame in some way whether it will be in the NWO or be in the Hall of Fame solo but Bischoff himself even said he doesn’t care about being in the Hall of Fame. I remember him saying that he doesn’t really want to be in the Hall of Fame anyways ’cause he doesn’t really think he’s all that big and believes not many people care for him.

Well, Eric, I appreciate you trying to stay humble and honest as possible but you have plenty of fans that love you and respect the hell out of you. Eric is a legend and he doesn’t even realize it to this day. I know I’ve always respected him. When Eric was on WCW TV for Monday Nitro, he played one of the most hated heels in wrestling history. Fans used to hate that man back in the day.

I think Bischoff should be in the WWE Hall of Fame but Vince won’t do it for whatever reason. Maybe the reason Vince won’t have Bischoff in Hall of Fame with NWO is ’cause Bischoff was in the NWO in WCW and not in the NWO when they were in WWE. That could be the reason… but WCW is WWE now that WWE owns WCW. WWE is just starting to induct more WCW stars.

83 Weeks is my favorite wrestling podcast and I listen to it all the time. Even if Eric is not going in the WWE Hall of Fame with the nWo, hopefully he’ll still make a Wrestlemania appearance with them at least. That’s better than nothing.

Happy 90th birthday to Gene Hackman… one of my favorite actors…

GeneHackman.jpg

It’s understandable why Gene Hackman doesn’t want to do big screen movies anymore. His last movie he did was “Welcome to Mooseport” way back in 2004 then he retired from acting for good after that. Gene has been in too many hit films over the years of his career that he got so rich out of it. He don’t need to work in Hollywood anymore as he has nothing left to prove. Retirement well-deserved, I say!

Anyway, Gene is one actor that is a favorite of mine and one actor that I have the utmost respect for. In his career over the years, Gene has played in films through every genre pretty much. He has done everything from action movies to drama to comedies to thrillers… except the only genre that he stayed away from was “horror”. Well, he had a role in the film “Young Frankenstein” so I guess that counts as a horror film.

He’s been in so many good movies. While he’s mostly famous as Lex Luthor in the Superman series w/ Christopher Reeve and he’s famous for “Unforgiven” w/ Eastwood, he’s in other good roles. Movies such as “Bonnie & Clyde”, “The Conversation”, “Crimson Tide”, “The French Connection I + II”, “Hoosiers”, “Behind Enemy Lines”, “Enemy of the State”, “Wyatt Earp”, “The Quick and the Dead”, etc. He has also been in two movies with Clint Eastwood: “Unforgiven” and “Absolute Power”.

He had a great career and like I said, he has nothing left to prove. I’m sure he still got it with the acting talent, he just don’t want to do it anymore.

I grew up throughout my entire life watching Gene Hackman movies and I’m sure the rest of you did too.

Happy birthday Gene and hope he’s doing well where ever he is.

What’s up with Sylvester Stallone’s new look? Is it for a movie role? Probably…

https://www.instagram.com/p/B74Tjdzp7x-/

Sly Stallone is looking so different nowadays. Here is the actor debuting a new look like we’ve never seen Sly before and I’m sure it’s surprising and shocking to some people even me a little bit.

Here is Sly with a white beard,  graying mustache and silver or white hair. Some of you may ask, why is Sly looking like this? Well, it’s for a movie role obviously. Right now, he’s filming the movie, “Samaritan” and he was told by the director to look a lot older, probably ’cause it was part of the script. I believe Sly is playing the superhero Samaritan in the movie, it’s about an aging superhero and that’s what it’s looking like to me. Are we gonna see Sly in a superhero costume in this movie? Probably.

Some of you may also ask, is the beard and hair fake? Just movie magic? NOPE!!!! The beard and the hair is his natural look. This is what he’s supposed to look  like as a 70 year old man. He made himself look young by staying clean shaven and dyed his hair black. Now he ditched the hair dye and grew out his white beard for a movie role.

I think Sly looks great this way and he should keep it but he probably won’t. After he’s done with the movie, he’ll probably go back to the clean shaven and black hair look. I wish he would keep the white haired/bearded look ’cause he would look like a badass in this look for “Expendables 4”. Imagine that? He looks like a badass now with this look and still looks like a tough guy!

No matter what you think of Sly, love him or hate him, you gotta give him props for this. Showing off his natural and real look which a lot of aging men refuse to do. This is what he’s supposed to really look like and he has balls for this. You want to look at “courageous” men, you’re looking at one here.

Billie Eilish is actually very good. I’m digging her stuff really…

So this new pop artist named Billie Eilish has been getting a lot of hype through the music industry. Funny thing is, I never really heard of her much and never really heard a single song by her until now. After all this hype and people ramming her music down our throats, I finally decided to hit up youtube and listen to her songs myself and surprisingly, I’m digging ’em. I think she’s very good and will probably end up getting her album, “When we All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go” which is her first album. This is her first record in her career and already she won all the top awards in the Grammy’s: “Record of the Year”, “Album of the Year”, “Song of the Year” and “Best New Artist”.

I think the Grammy’s did the right thing for once ’cause Billie’s music is actually enjoyable. This rap artist by the name of Lizzo is also getting a lot of industry buzz. I tried to listen to her music as well but don’t really like Lizzo at all. Her stuff don’t grab me but Billie’s music catches my attention. Billie is very good and I’m gonna get her album for sure next time I buy music from Itunes.

I mostly listen to rock & metal and mostly listen to stuff from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and early 90’s but sometimes I do listen to today’s music. I listen to all kinds of music even pop music.. it’s just that rock & metal is my main genre. When I want to listen to something different, I’ll put on a pop album or a rap album ’cause I do dig that stuff sometimes.

Trying to take my guitar playing to the next level… just want to keep growing as a musician and get better…

Ya know, I get really bored of playing simple and basic stuff on the guitar. Now I want to take my guitar playing skills even further and take it to the next level. I’m always trying to improve my guitar playing no matter what, though.

I want to improve both my rhythm and lead guitar chops. For rhythm, I’m just getting so bored playing chords in the open position all the time. My goal for rhythm guitar is that I want to be able to play chords all up and down the neck of the entire fretboard. I want to be like Pete Townshend and Bob Weir where those guys are just playing chords all over the neck. To do that, it takes fretboard and theory knowledge. You gotta have the notes of the entire fretboard memorized and have the root notes memorized all over the fretboard. To play chords up and down the neck, it helps if you know the root notes and octaves all over, that’s what I’m learning. Also, the CAGED System really helps too.

I just want to play more complex rock n’ roll. If I want to play harder and more heavier rock n’ roll then I need to learn more. I’m thinking of playing more “progressive rock” music. I want to play more than just barre chords and power chords. Listening to my favorite bands like Dream Theater and Opeth are both inspiring me to branch out more in my guitar playing.

Making rock riffs and shredding shouldn’t be that complicated. Most of the rock and metal guys out there, they all mostly use the 7 modes and the major/minor pentatonic scales to make riffs for their songs and soloing. I’m still trying to figure the modes out too and I want to get good at modal soloing and I’m trying that too.

For my lead guitar playing, I’m trying all I can to improve that still. I want to have a good ear and still practicing my ear training which is improving a little bit.

I’m not looking to become a “Virtuoso” guitarist or anything like that, I just want to write good music. I want to write good songs that I want to hear. I like to use the guitar as a songwriting tool and that’s pretty much it really. When writing rock songs or prog rock, I want to write everything from heavy/tight to mellow ballads.

For many years, people have accused me of not being an actual “musician” but I can prove people wrong. I can show people that I know my shit. I’m pretty good at music theory knowledge and I can play rhythm guitar along with a metronome pretty well. My improvisation skills needs a little more work and I’m working on that too, though.

I just want to make good music that I like for myself but if other people happen to like it, that’s fine too. I’ll get back into songwriting again at some point. Just still trying to improve my chops. I’ll get back into songwriting when I’m ready.

Leg injury is getting way better now that I stopped the lower body lifting for a long long while…

I guess I might not need a doctor after all ’cause my upper left leg injury (or the hip flexor is what they call it) is feeling way better lately since I’ve giving my legs a much longer break. I’ve taken two months off of lower body lifting and no deadlifting at all whatsoever. I’m not 100% yet but pretty close to it. I may be able to get back to lower body lifting again real soon. I should give it a few more weeks, maybe I don’t know.

My left leg is feeling good, though. Maybe I can go back to doing legs again, just lift light ’cause light lifting is not gonna hurt it. I could probably go back to doing legs and deadlifting again but lift real light. I’ll give it a shot.

I may have  lost some muscle on the legs due to no lifting but I’ll get it all back once I’m 100%. I might have lost some deadlift strength “again” and probably can’t lift the 300 lb. deadlift anymore but I’ll get that back as well. We’ll see how it goes.

I do miss the heavy deadlifting and I want to get back into that pretty badly ’cause I love the deadlift. It’s my favorite lift out of everything I do. I’ll never give up the deadlift. When I get back from injury, I’m gonna be training harder than ever and hope to get my 300 lb. deadlift back. My goal this year in 2020 is hopefully hit pr’s on deadlift that are over 300 lbs. I hope to do 300 lbs. for reps pretty soon. I’m gonna work my way up to a 400 lb. pr on deadlift this year but first I gotta get healed up from this injury.

Injury setbacks suck. Injuries can take forever to heal depending on how bad it is. I guess this injury was pretty good since it’s taking me more than two months to heal but it’s gotten way better now, though.

I don’t blame deadlifting and squatting for this injury. I got it from the leg press which is what I don’t like and I’ll probably end up ditching the leg press from my program completely, not sure yet. I probably won’t do leg press anymore. To workout my quads, I’ll probably just do the leg ext. machine and do barbell squats. I could also probably workout the legs doing stuff with dumbbells like Goblet Squats or Lunges… I’ll probably end up doing that instead of the leg press.

I don’t want to get injured like this again and I’ll be more careful next time.

I’ve been going to the gym 3 days a week for a while now. Skipping leg days for two months. I’m gonna go back to 4 days a week soon. I might go back to 4 days this week. Do leg day this week but go in lightly.

Royal Rumble 2020 last night was really great… probably the best Rumble ppv in a long time!

Yeah, I did watch the Royal Rumble last night just like I watch the Rumble every year. Out of all 4 of the WWE’s major ppv series: Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Summerslam… the Royal Rumble would have to be my favorite. Why? It’s because it’s so fun seeing a bunch of wrestlers in one ring going at it. I love Rumble matches, they’re such a blast to watch; however, not every Rumble year is good. There will be some good and some bad Rumble matches.

Well last night’s Rumble ppv was good. Other than the two Rumble matches, the men’s and the women’s Rumble… I enjoyed all the other matches as well… King Corbin vs. Roman Reigns – Falls Count Anywhere match was surprisingly good and not boring at all. The Fiend vs. Daniel Bryan strap match stoled the show and entertaining as hell. Becky Lynch vs. Asuka champ match was awesome as well.

Of course, I loved both the women’s and men’s Rumble matches. Both of those matches were fun and entertaining as hell. Very exciting all the way through. Charlotte Flair ended up winning the Women’s Rumble and Drew Mcintyre ended up winning the Men’s Rumble. It’s a good move ’cause they never won the Rumble before and it’s always nice to see someone who hasn’t won the Rumble before win it.

In the women’s Rumble match, we got mostly a mixture of RAW, SD women and a bunch of NXT women. We had a few surprise entrances such as Tamina Snuka, Mighty Molly and The Glamazon Beth Phoenix. Bianca Belair a superstar from NXT lasted a little over 30 minutes in the women’s Rumble which was impressive. Bianca killed it and gave a great performance.

As far as the men’s rumble goes, Brock Lesnar was the first one in the ring and it looks like he was going to win it by eliminating every guy which was what he was doing at first. Lesnar lasted a little over 26 minutes and had 13 eliminations until Lesnar got eliminated by Drew McIntyre. The last 5 guys in the Men’s Rumble ended up being McIntyre, Randy Orton, Edge, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins which was very thrilling. It was thrilling those 5 guys were left ’cause you never know who would win it. Any one of those 5 guys could have won but the winner of the Men’s Rumble ended up being Drew McIntyre which was a shocker really. Finally an unpredictable Men’s Rumble. Honestly, Drew McIntyre was the right choice as he had never won a Rumble before.

So the main event for Wrestlemania just might be Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar for the championship. We’ll see how long Lesnar holds the belt ’cause it’s pretty likely he’s going to keep it until Wrestlemania. Unless, Lesnar loses the belt before Wrestlemania and McIntyre could be facing someone else. We’ll see how this goes.

We didn’t get returns of John Cena and CM Punk yet, though… ’cause the rumor mills are swirling that those guys will be returning soon… but Edge is back, though. Edge is not just back for a one off. He’s out of retirement, I think and back full time again ’cause I heard Edge just signed a multi-year deal with WWE so I I think Edge will be around a while. If Daniel Bryan can come out of retirement due to a serious injury then Edge can too.

Last night’s Rumble was great and WWE is trying to improve and get better. It’s now the beginning of the Road to Wrestlemania so we’re gonna start seeing the Wrestlemania card shape up.

I’ll be watching RAW tonight to see what’s gonna happen after the Rumble ppv. Great work WWE and keep it up!
