Cool Video: David Bowie releases another new song, “The Stars Are Out Tonight”…

Bowie just released this new song and I absolutely love it! It’s got that old school Bowie feeling, sounds kinda 80s’ like. I like the video too. As you can see Bowie did a little bit of acting in this video before the song even starts, and Bowie still has his acting chops as well!

I can’t wait for the new Bowie album. Can’t believe it. Two big albums I’m looking forward to in 2013. The new David Bowie record, and I’m also looking forward to the new Black Sabbath one as well.

Enjoy.

Last night’s RAW: Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar

Last night’s RAW opened up with a Vince McMahon vs. Paul Heyman fight. Vince stood out in the ring with crutches and Paul Heyman came out with his fight gear on. Paul Heyman, talked on the mic for a while as he made his way to the ring, and when he got in, immediately, he started beating McMahon with one of his crutches. Of course, Brock Lesnar comes out to the ring to save the day for Paul Heyman. As Lesnar entered the ring and started to go after McMahon, Triple H’s music hits with Lemmy Kilmister’s voice blaring over the speakers, “Tiiiimmme to play the gggaammmeee…”. Of course, the crowd goes nuts as soon as Triple H’s music hits. Triple H comes walking out slowly to the music with his usual water bottle, and he is sporting a new buzz cut hair do. Suddenly Triple H starts running after Lesnar to the ring, and it was an all out brawl between the two. Triple H left Lesnar in a bloody mess. Yes, Lesnar was covered with blood.

Sometimes people want to believe the blood in wrestling is fake, but it’s not. Blood in wrestling is real. How do the performers get away with it? How do they fake it? Well, they usually hide a small blade, and they’re usually good at cutting themselves on purpose so people won’t notice.

After that segment got over with, the internet blew up with the entire wrestling community of fans giving that segment positive feedback. I agree. I thought that was the best thing RAW did in years. That’s wrestling right there, folks. That’s the kind of wrestling everyone wants to see. If WWE brings that stuff back, get rid of the PG era, WWE would get good again. RAW has been nothing but shit for the past several years or more, and finally, they did something that was actually wrestling. It was an incredible segment. I LOVED it too.

I used to never want to see Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania again, but after seeing what they did on RAW last night, now I’m officially sold to Triple H vs. Lesnar II. This is the stuff wrestling fans want to see, not the kiddie stuff. We want to see hardcore violence and blood. We don’t get much of that anymore. Since that segment got a lot of great feedback from the fans, hopefully, the WWE will listen to us and we may soon see the PG era gone. Hopefully. Cross our fingers.

That segment felt like a Wrestlemania moment to me.

As for the rest of last night’s RAW in Dallas, TX. goes, it was a mediocre show like usual, but the opening segment Triple H vs. Lesnar, was phenomenal.

This is part of the reason why WWE needs Brock Lesnar, ’cause it seems that Lesnar is the only superstar who has what it takes to make WWE interesting again. Hopefully Triple H vs. Lesnar at ‘Mania this year, will be just as bloody and gruesome, would be awesome. It can’t be PG when Brock Lesnar is around, think about it!

Are all local musicians friendly people as you think? Truthfully, not all of them…

I’ve been a part of the local music scene for many years. For at least 10 years or a little over, I believe. I have been observing how musicians act in the scene. The reason a lot of people mistakenly believe that we have a friendly music scene, is that when people play in a band and they become popular, that’s when they automatically see them as friendly people. They think that when you play in a band, people immediately think that musicians have a professional attitude, that’s why the fans want to believe that musicians are always lovable and friendly to everyone they see. I’m not sure an easier way to explain it, but I think you get the point of what I’m trying to talk about here.

When you get to know the music scene well enough like I do, you’ll start to realize that not all of the music scene is that friendly. You see, all musicians are different. They all have different personalities. Sure, some musicians can be wonderful people, down to earth, and very friendly. I met some very friendly musicians myself and I still know some who have positive attitudes. Sure enough, you’re going to come across some musicians who can be downright rude, and some can be assholes as well. You will come across some negative jerks around here, for sure. Some musicians don’t even care about people at all, a lot of them keep to themselves and they’re in it just to play music or just for the money alone.

When I used to gig and shared the stage with different bands & solo acoustic artists, I’ve noticed musicians who had various personalities. Like I said some were friendly, rude, mean, and some didn’t even care. I even shared the stage with musicians who I didn’t even talk to that much ’cause he/she was just there to play their gig and that was it. I remember some did stay at the gig to hang out with me, so they were the friendly ones.

I have been observing musicians personalities online and off. They all have different personalities online as well. That’s how they are. They are not gonna be the same. You’re going to realize that local musicians, are just regular human beings. You know how when you want to meet your favorite famous person, and once you get the opportunity to meet him, he turns out to be an asshole? Well, it’s the same way with the local music scene. You may find what this musician does is admirable and you may respect him/her, but soon you’ll learn that this someone is not the good person you think he/she is.

I’ve met plenty of musicians over the years, who I thought were once cool, but later on you’re going to be very disappointed. This includes the established bands & musicians too. Just because they’re well known, doesn’t really mean they’re friendly people. You’re gonna come across musicians who have huge egos and short tempers.

If you’re a struggling musician like me trying to get respected and get more recognition musically and if you’re not in their league, they won’t make you feel welcome in the music scene ’cause you’ll accused of being an amateur/hobbyist, and all that stuff. If you want to have a healthy and positive music career, you need to be strong and tough. Don’t let the egos destroy your dreams ’cause that’s all they want to do. They want to see you fail. Don’t listen to the critics. Don’t trust anybody. Just simply, don’t give a fuck.

If music is what you like to do, then keep doing it. This is where I come from. Staying above the haters & doubters, and ignoring all negativity at all costs, is how you keep going forward in your dreams and focusing on your goals. People have been trying to destroy my music dreams for years. I just ignore ’em and say to hell with ’em. I continue to do this ’cause it’s what I do. I don’t care if people think my music is not successful or any of their negative opinions. If people want to believe my blogging is more successful than my music, that’s fine too. The point I’m trying to make is that I’m a musician and you can’t change that. That’s who I am.

The point of this post is that people shouldn’t judge music being a friendly world, when not all of it is really. Too many opinionated people everywhere, and personally, I think they all need to get slapped up and keep their opinions to themselves.

I’m coming back to this music thing, I think, soon, and I’ll do a much better job, ignoring those critics, haters, and doubters, trust me.

Nine Inch Nails reforms with new members (again) for tour later this year…

So Trent Reznor announced today that the Nine Inch Nails are coming back, but with a totally different lineup of members. Only two past members will return. I was never that big of a NIN fan, but I heard a lot of their songs before on the radio and stuff. I never bought their albums. I remember back in 2009, Trent wanted the NIN to disappear for a while, then during the 4 year hiatus, he took some time to start scoring some films. The first film he scored for was David Fincher’s “The Social Network” which earned him an Oscar for BEST SCORE, and then he composed the music for Fincher’s “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”. Now, it seems that Trent has missed the rock n’ roll and wants to get back into it. Even though I never bought albums by the NIN, I do respect the band. Trent is a pretty talented guy.

Will there be a new NIN album in the works soon? So far, no news on that yet, just a tour announcement for now, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they do have an album planned in the future. Trent said he wants to start NIN’s from scratch, so they probably will do a new album.

This is good news, though!

I honestly think the Oscars should take place before the Golden Globes, so the winners can be less predictable…

I hope I’m not the only one who feels this way but is everyone else getting tired of the winner choices of films being the same between the Golden Globes and the Oscars? This is why I believe it’s best that the Oscars should take place sometime before the Golden Globes. I’m not sure why the Oscars is always taken place sometime after the Golden Globes. I think the Oscars would be more fun if the winners were less predictable, you know what I mean? Oh well, it is what it is.

I did watch the Oscars last night, even the Red Carpet special before it. I hate the Red Carpet. It’s all pretty goofy and pretty pretentious, in my opinion. I just watch the Red Carpet for laughs ’cause it is kind of humorous to watch the stars jerk off with their fashion and the photographers. When it comes to Red Carpet stuff, I don’t really get into the who dresses best or who dresses worst thing. Although, I would admit, that Charlize Theron was looking the best though, I couldn’t resist saying that. Charlize was looking pretty smoking with the short hair. She has always been gorgeous and always has been one of my favorite female celebs.

Seth Macfarlane did a pretty good job hosting. I liked his opening segment, except I thought his “I Saw Boobs” song was pretty lame and stupid. Other than that, I liked the William Shatner appearance where he played Cpt. Kirk again. It was cool seeing the Shat as Kirk for one more time and he still has it. He can still play the character well!

I haven’t seen the movie “Argo” yet, but I want to. Another negative I have about the Oscars is that “Argo” won for Best Picture, and Ben Affleck got the snub for Best Director. I thought that was pretty lame too. Ben seems to be always getting ignored for the Best Director category even though he seems to be winning other stuff. Ben Affleck is a talented guy, I’ve always liked him. I just wish he would get more respect with his directing.

The same with Tarantino, he got the Best Director snub too. Even though, “Django Unchained”, used the “N” word a lot, that is still not stopping Quentin for winning a Best Screenplay award which is well deserved.

I haven’t seen any of the other movies like “Life of Pi”, “Beasts of the Southern Wild” either, but I’ll check them out soon through Netflix DVD rental.

I liked the Catherine Zeta Jones, “All That Jazz” performance. The performance by the Les Miserables cast was really good too. Of course, Adele killed it with the “Skyfall” theme. I thought the Oscars did a good job with the 50 Years Tribute to James Bond. That was well put together.

It was a pretty good Oscars show. Definitely better than this year’s crappy Golden Globes.

Cool Video: Rousey vs. Carmouche thoughts…

I didn’t watch UFC 157, last night because the ppv was a bit pricey. $55, so I couldn’t afford it. I only wanted to watch that ppv just for the women’s fight alone so I decided to wait for it to land on youtube. The video below is a bootleg video but you can still see it and hear it fine. So watch it quick before, UFC pulls it for copyright.

As I’ve been saying for a while now, I knew the women were going to put on an incredible fight, and they did exactly that. I had a blast watching this. Ronda is one tough chick. She may have used the arm bar technique a lot, but it was smart and she had a reason to do so in order to survive and get the win. Even though, Carmouche is more muscular and stronger, Ronda somehow managed to get the win, anyway, so this fight was impressive.

Yet, there are still a lot of jealous men in facebook hating on this fight, but they need to grow up and give the women a chance. I give props for Dana for doing something risky, and it’s a good thing he’s doing. It’s an opportunity for female fans of UFC and to help grow a larger fanbase with women. Women in UFC will be good for the business and the sport. Men may hate women in UFC now, but give it time. It’ll take a while to get used to and maybe men will respect the ladies fighting in the future.

Since, this fight was a major success, you can very well believe there will be many more women fights in the future. I’m sure there are a lot of angry women out there who want to take that title from Ronda now. So get used to it.

Cool Video: Jake the Snake and Scott Hall reunion…

I think it is amazing to see Scott Hall smiling, being happy and acting so positive. Even though Scott has gained a lot of weight over the years (which drugs & alcohol can do to you), he’s still looking good. Scott used to never be like this either. In the past, Scott was always short tempered and had plenty of issues.

If Scott keeps it up, I’d like to see him return to WWE for a short run, would be kinda cool. He probably won’t be able to wrestle anymore but he can still come back as a performer, if he wanted.

Cool Photo: So is Patrick Stewart returning to X-Men after all???

Earlier last year, it was reported that Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart is returning to Bryan Singer’s, “X-Men: Days of Future Past” film. It was confirmed that Ian is set to return as Magneto, but Patrick denied it and said it wasn’t true, at first. It appears that Patrick maybe reprising his role as Professor X. Look like Patrick is in negotiations with Singer, check out this photo that Singer tweeted, here.

Still looking good there Cpt. Picard! Speaking of Cpt. Picard, I went back to watching Star Trek: TNG on Netflix (after completing, “House of Cards”), and I’m just starting Season 3.

My complete focus is on lead guitar… I want to become a guitar great, not just a songwriting guitarist…

As some of you should know by now, my main focus on the guitar is lead guitar. It’s what I’ve been concentrating on more than rhythm and songwriting. I someday want to become a great lead guitarist. I want to be the type of guitarist that is able to improvise just about anything. Play everything I hear, and will be able to come in with a band without having anyone telling me what key the song is in. What’s the word, I’m looking for? I think virtuoso is it. I’ll admit it, I kind of want to get there, and want to be that kind of player. Instead of people looking at me as a singer/songwriter, I want people seeing me as this great guitarist. It’s not an ego thing, trust me, it’s just a goal and a dream that I’ve always had. I mean, hell man, it’s the whole reason I picked up the guitar, ’cause I wanted to become a guitar great like my heroes Jimmy Page, Hendrix, Satriani, and Neil Young. The list goes on. I know this dream doesn’t happen over night and I’ve been trying to figure out how to get there for the past 18 years. Yes, I’ve been playing guitar for that long. I’m just not rushing myself.

In lead guitar, I’m trying to take everything seriously. Do everything carefully and slowly. Take my time. I’m trying to practice my techniques, trying to get better vibratos, hammer ons/pull offs, etc. I’m also trying to learn as many scales as possible and I’ve just memorized a few of them already, all 5 patterns all along the neck. Focusing on ear training, improvisation and theory. All of it. The stuff that all musicians need to learn to get great.

I’ll get there somehow, it just takes patience. You guys can hear that I’m slowly improving and you can tell that I’m trying to get there every time I release a song. It’s hard work, but I’m never gonna give this up. I really am committed on trying to become a more professional and advanced player. It’s not about trying to get other people to respect me as a musician, it’s just that I want to move forward. Move to the next level. Always trying to learn new things and get better as you go along.

I love playing the guitar. While I love to do so many hobbies like watching movies, video games, reading books, the gym, etc. The guitar is #1 before everything else. It’s pretty much all I do, ya know?

If I ever make my first studio album with a full band, you can betcha it’s gonna be a full blown in your face guitar driven rock album, and that’s another reason I’m trying to get better. I want to be the type of guitarist that will melt people’s faces and trying to get there the best I possibly can.

Is facebook pretty much worthless now? I would say definitely, yes…

A few years back, I signed on to facebook, so I can personally interact with friends, people I went to school with, family members, local musicians around the scene, etc. Just to keep in touch with people I know and see what they’re up to and all that stuff. That is what facebook was originally used for. I hate the way facebook is now. Facebook was originally supposed to be an online community where people can get together, but it’s not like that anymore. Today all we get is nothing but baby photos, pics of people’s pets, facebook is loaded with stupid memes and inspirational quotes, that’s it’s almost pointless to use facebook now.

Don’t get the wrong idea, that I like to add random people and try to get as many friends as possible in facebook. I’m not that desperate for popularity as that is not what I use facebook for. I try not to add random people, but sometimes it can’t be helped, since my web presence is slightly popular still.

In my facebook personal page, I try not to post too much memes and inspirational quotes. I only post something that I like once in a blue moon if it catches my attention and if I agree with. I don’t obsess with the memes too much. My goal on my facebook page is to entertain people the best I can just like I do on here for this site. On my facebook, I like to talk about a variety of topics. I do my best to keep my personal life out of things, although, once in a while, I’ll write in to tell everyone what I’m up to, where I’m going, and once in a while I’ll post a rant about my life off the computer, sure.

I know how to use facebook pretty carefully. I’m starting to dislike facebook now. It is also not the best marketing tool for bands & musicians either, and I’ll have another post about that soon.

This is why I like twitter way better. A lot of people like to shit talk twitter, on how it’s boring and they don’t understand it, but they think like that about twitter ’cause they don’t get much followers and not many people are paying attention to them, even though they have a lot of followers on facebook. Twitter is better for a lot of reasons. I’ll have another post to explain why too. It’s facebook that is bad, that is just my opinion.

People are horrible at using facebook. There are way too many illiterate people around and they’re just irresponsible using social networking sites. Falling for fake “re-share” this giveaway contests, too many accounts has been fished or hacked, people posting way too much drama stuff, etc.

Is it always a good idea to rant about how much life sucks or how much you’re having a bad day? There maybe freedom of speech and you can speak how you please, but in reality, ranting about your personal life which I see people do everyday, is NOT a good idea at all. You can ruin friendships and your family life, get fired from your jobs, all kinds of bad karma will come out of it. I try to stay out of people’s personal business and soap opera stuff when they put that stuff up publicly.

I just want my facebook page positive and entertaining.
