There Will Be Blood…

Last night, I finally watched the movie, “There Will Be Blood” for the first time ever. It came out in 2007, I know I’m way late on the movie, but I never got around to seeing it until now and I always wanted to see it. I would have to say I was very impressed with the film. Very good story and moving. Daniel Day-Lewis’s best character ever, in my opinion. No wonder he won the Oscar for this role ’cause his acting is really powerful in this film.

Daniel Day-Lewis plays a character named Daniel Plainview where he plays a mineral and oil prospector. He owns his own company along with his young son, H.W.. He adopted a baby along his oil and mineral adventures. A young man named Paul Sunday, goes to Daniel to make a deal to go to Little Boston, California to dig up oil discovered under this family’s land. Daniel’s only mission is to make a lot of money off of oil drilling. So he goes to Little Boston with his son, to try and buy this land off this family after drilling the oil from their land. As Daniel works on oil drilling there, he meets up with a disturbing and crazy preacher named, Eli Sunday, who Daniel doesn’t get along with too well. The people in Little Boston is a poor town, while all Daniel cares about is getting rich. Beware, there is a pretty heavy twist at the end of the film, that may shock you pretty hard.

The film was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, I know he’s not everyone’s favorite director but I think this is the best film he’s ever done. I have no complaints about the film at all. Just a perfectly well made film all around.  Check it out if you haven’t yet.

Owen Hart

Owen Hart, the brother of legendary wrestler, Bret “the Hitman” Hart, would have been 45, years old if he was still alive today. If Owen was still alive, I can still see him doing what he loves best…wrestling. Whether Owen would be wrestling in either TNA or WWE, he’d still be doing wrestling no matter what if he was still around. Owen has always been a favorite of mine before he died. RIP Owen. He maybe gone but never forgotten.

Report: Dwayne Johnson to play a villain in “Fast and Furious 5”??? Just my guess…

Can you smell what the Rock is cooking? It may sound silly as hell, but it is turning out to be true that Dwayne Johnson is in talks with Universal Studios to star in “Fast and Furious 5” along with Paul Walker and Vin Diesel. My guess is that they want Dwayne as a villain in the next one? Dwayne to duke it out with Vin Diesel?

I’m a fan of the Fast and Furious movies. I really liked the fourth one. Looking forward to the next one indeed, and lets hope Dwayne says yes to this role!!!

Report: Mission Impossible 4 to hit theaters Dec. 16th 2011…

Even though I’m not much of a Mission Impossible fan, the 4th one is actually very exciting. I for one am looking forward to seeing the trailer for MI:4. We’ll probably see a teaser later this summer. I think a teaser for “MI:4” would be a perfect attachment to the “Expendables” movie when that film comes out in August. Hopefully, “MI:4” will be violent and action packed. I’m sure it will be. You may not see Tom Cruise as an action star, but believe it or not, he is an action star. He’s been in plenty of action movies from the past. 🙂

Report: Ready for another “Planet of the Apes” movie? Prequel on it’s way to the big screen…

I am such a huge fan of the “Planet of the Apes” movies. I even love the new one that was directed by Tim Burton. 20th Century Fox has greenlighted a release date for the prequel of “Planet of the Apes” for June 24th, 2011. Keep in mind folks, that I believe this is the prequel to the 1968 version (pictured above) that starred Charlton Heston. It’s not a prequel to the Tim Burton version.

I don’t know if I will be excited to see this one myself, because as the article said, the prequel plans to use CGI apes instead of using costumes. Tim Burton’s version used costumes, not CGI. Hope they don’t make it a popcorn action movie with full of visual 3D effects. They should stay true to the classic POTA’s movies.

Thought: I’m happy for Bret Michaels but still kind of concerned…cancel that tour and take it easy, bro!

It’s great news that Bret Michaels, is expected to make a full recovery, but people should still be a little concerned for him. I think, Bret should cancel the tour and take it easy for a while. What if something else happens to him out on the road? I know he has quite a long tour ahead of him. The shows must go on like they all say, but what if something else can happen to him next time around?

Bret is scheduled to make an appearance in the Capital District area in Clifton Park, at a venue called, “Northern Lights” on May 21st.

He had a rough time in the hospital. I have this bad feeling something might happen to him again. Glad he is alright for now though.

Report: JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg team up to make “Super 8” movie, and it’s not a sequel to “Cloverfield”!!!

Here is JJ Abrams next directorial project after last year’s “Star Trek”. JJ will direct a film titled, “Super 8” with Steven Spielberg producing. JJ also wrote the script himself.

I don’t know anything about the new film myself. I’ll look into it more.

Report: Joaquin Phoenix mockumentary coming soon to the big screen???

Well Casey Affleck has completed filming of Joaquin Phoenix’s rap career for a mockumentary film for theatres. The film was already shown privately at the WME headquarters, Harvey Weinstein was there and he saw it too. WME is selling the film to a studio to whoever wants to release it and it will only take a few days to make a deal.

Last year, actor Joaquin Phoenix made a shocking announcement that he was going to retire from Hollywood movies for good, to focus on a rap music career. Everyone was trying to figure out if he was serious or just joking. He was making it look like to be serious but people is still trying to figure him out to this day. He’s been creating a lot of controversy like on the David Letterman appearance, the nightclub performances, etc. He was making it seem like an Andy Kauffman, Weird Al or Sasha Baron Cohen type of comic thing.

More on it here:

So is Joaquin Phoenix really done with movies or what? My thoughts: Nah, I don’t think he’s really retired. I don’t believe it for a second. It’s a work, a storyline type of thing as part of the mockumentary to make it seem realistic. I think Joaquin will get back to playing leading roles in films again after he’s done releasing and promoting this. There’s no way he’s giving up movies. If you think about it, him releasing this movie is kind of a hint, he isn’t really retired. He’s too young for retirement. Joaquin just wants to break into the comedy genre and this is his way of getting into it. He’s mostly seen as a drama and thriller type of actor.

Why twitter is popular with celebrities…

Twitter has been a new social networking site. It’s been put online since 2006, so it’s only been on the internet for 4 years. Ever since the site first came on, the twitter site was immediately taken over by the rich & famous. Everyone from actors, music stars, famous bands, TV channels, sports athletes, etc. So you wonder why it is popular with celebrities??? Well like I once said about twitter before, a lot of celebs find it a great opportunity to interact with their fans online personally. Why are celebs in twitter personally responding back to fans? Because the site is quicker and easier to use for them. Obviously, celebrities don’t have time to reply to fan mail, so they use twitter to talk to fans instead.

Some celebs however, don’t even use the site to talk to fans because they think they are too famous for that. They use the site to announce news on twitter mostly because it’s a quicker way to exclusively announce news instead of wasting a lot of time announcing on myspace or their official website. A lot of them are there to promote their careers, talk to people or announce news. Celebs in twitter is no fake ’cause the “verified” accounts is proof that it is their account, plus other ways to tell it’s their real page is they post twitpics proving it’s them.

Twitter can also be useful for non-famous people like myself. I just go there to read other celeb pages and just post there for my fun and my own amusement. Yep, twitter is no joke people. Celebs there do READ EVERYTHING that’s sent to them. I’ve had a few celeb replies and I have a few celebs following me (Tom Cruise and Arnie Schwarzenegger). Celebs will respond to you if it’s flattering to them or if they find your post worth replying to. It’s very rare you’ll get a reply but they do reply when they can.

Twitter is a nice site. It’s more fun than facebook and myspace, in my opinion.
