BREAKING NEWS: Tom Cruise officially signs on to MI: 4!!!!!

Tom Cruise has officially signed on to the next installment of the Mission Impossible series. If the trailer is good enough to make me want to go out and see it, maybe. I like Tom Cruise as an actor, I wasn’t a big fan of the MI series.

Report: 24 is coming to the big screen, Jack Bauer ready to kick your ass!!

This is big news for fans of the hit TV show, “24” starring Kiefer Sutherland. “24” is finally coming to the big screen! Is this the studios way of competing with Jason Bourne and James Bond? Seems like it. If legendary TV shows like “Star Trek”, “Sex and the City”, and “X-Files” can successfully come to the big screen, why not, “24”?

I wasn’t that big of a fan of the show but I do like it and did watch it sometimes. I’ll see the film when it hits theaters, sure. With “24” being an action packed TV show, I’m pretty sure they have plans to make the movie version ten times more violent. So be ready for a big action packed movie, folks!

It’s awesome that Kiefer is finally coming back to the big screen in a huge way ’cause he hasn’t had a huge franchise since the two Young Guns movies.

Report: Warner Bros. hires Christopher Nolan to mentor new Superman movie!!!

Warner Bros. studios has finally decided to move forward with the new “Superman” movie. As reported in the past, WB’s studios is at war with the Jerome Siegel heirs trying to own full copyright of the Superman character. The Siegel’s was awarded half of the copyrighted material of the Superman works, which means that WB’s will not be allowed to use them for their next film. So this means that WB’s will have to be careful with the material they put in the next film. Which I assume that is why they hired Christopher Nolan to mentor them. They did not hire Chris as a director, just a mentor. WB’s was ordered to get the new Superman movie done and released before 2013, if they don’t, they will get full copyright of the Superman character. Keep in mind, this will NOT be another sequel to Bryan Singer’s, “Superman: Returns”.

With Christopher Nolan helping out, the next Superman movie will probably be a lot darker. I hope so. It should be action packed as well. Stay away from romance with Lois Lane and concentrate on a real Superman movie, the way he was supposed to be. Superman should not be Brandon Routh again. And please, keep the classic John Williams Superman theme. I don’t think the Siegels own the copyright to the Williams theme song. I would think the score belongs to John Williams and WB’s, so I’m sure they’ll still get to use the theme song to open up the movie with.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what they’ll do with the new Superman movie as it will indeed be much different than the earlier films.

Report: Patrick Stewart is not doing “Mad Max: Fury Road” and he’s also NOT doing “X-Men: First Class”…

Is Patrick Stewart done with Hollywood for good??? I hope not. If you’re hoping for him to make a return to Hollywood, look like it’s not going to be anytime soon. Patrick Stewart shot down rumours that he’ll be starring in “Mad Max: Fury Road”. He also confirms he’s done with Professor Xavier for “X-Men” ’cause he don’t expect to be involved.

Check out the two articles below:

http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2010/02/01/rumors-of-patrick-stewart-joining-mad-max-fury-road-are-untrue/

and here:

Now let the retirement from Hollywood rumours begin for Patrick! I really hope he isn’t done with Hollywood for good and I hope he’ll do a new movie soon.

See? Even Ain’t It Cool get their facts wrong. They do it all the time. They’re another website known for sparking rumours that aren’t true such as this. AICN is bad movie journalism anyways.

Report: Joe Johnston speaks on “Captain America” live action movie…

“Wolfman” director, Joe Johnston speaks about his upcoming “Captain America” movie with Marvel films. Johnston says he wants to cast a completely unknown actor to play Captain America, the hero. However, Johnston wants more well known actors to play the other characters. Johnston confirms that Red Skull could be the main villain of the film. Red Skull, is the Nazi villain that has the red face. Johnston says this movie will be totally different than the other Marvel superhero films.

Wonder what Johnston means when he says this film will be different than other Marvel films? Will it not be a CGI fest full of popcorn action effects like all the others? Since Captain America will be played by an actor we’ve never heard of before, he’ll probably get a well known star for Red Skull.

Who should be Red Skull? My pick would be either Christian Bale or Jackie Earl Haley.

Report: Disney greenlights sequel to “Enchanted”…

More good news that a sequel to Disney’s “Enchanted” have been greenlighted. I’m sure Amy Adams would come back, but the sequel will be directed by Anne Fletcher, a female director this time. The first movie was directed by Kevin Lima. I’m actually looking forward to the sequel. Yes, I love the “Enchanted” movie and still do. Great film.

I’m happy Vinny and Paul are still on for the 5th “Fast and Furious” movie, ’cause I actually thought the 4th “Fast & Furious” was very entertaining. I hope they make the next movie even better.

And please…more Michelle Rodriguez for the next one! Not just a small cameo!

Report: “Macgyver” vs. “Macgruber” legal war on it’s way???

It was only a matter of time. I have kind of predicted that a potential legal war would be coming by the “Macgyver” TV creator against SNL who created “Macgruber”. “Macgruber” is a comedy skit created by SNL parodying “Macgyver”.

There’s a guy named Pinche Taco who claims Lee Zlotoff the creator of the “Macgyver” TV series plans on suing the studios of the “Macgruber” movie in hopes of shutting it down and asking for damages. The reason is Zlotoff is working on bringing “Macgyver” the 80’s iconic TV show to the big screen, with Richard Dean Anderson possibly reprising his role as the iconic TV character.

You think SNL would get permission and the authorized rights to make a parody of “Macgyver” right? If what Pinche Taco says is true, I honestly hope they shut the “Macgruber” movie down. This “Macgruber” character is giving Richard Dean Anderson a bad name, and it would ruin the “Macgyver” movie.

Oscar nominations thoughts…very happy with this year’s selections!!!

Well the nominations are finally here folks:

http://oscar.go.com/nominations/nominees

I remember last year’s Oscar nominations was very dissapointing, simply because “The Dark Knight” got ignored for Best Picture

I’m very happy with this year’s selections though. Only thing I’m dissapointed in is that “Star Trek” didn’t get nominated for Best Picture, but I’m happy it got Best Sound and Best Makeup.

I’m glad to see my favorite movie of 2009, “District 9” nominated, I would think that is a shocker ’cause I didn’t think the Academy would go for that film. This year’s Best Picture selection is really great this year.

I’ve seen most of the movies nominated this year except for “The Blind Side”, “A Serious Man”, “An Education”, “Up” and “Precious”, I haven’t seen those yet but the rest I have seen. It is weird how Meryl Streep only got one nomination this year.

Everybody knows that James Cameron will get everything once again this year, but I really don’t want that to happen. My first choice for “Best Picture” winner would be the “Hurt Locker”. My second choice would be “Inglourious Basterds”, and then “District 9”, any of those three would make me happy. The Best Picture winner will probably be “Avatar” and I still don’t think that film deserves it.

Looking forward to seeing this year’s Oscars.
