Film Review: Dead Pool

Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Gina Carano

Directed by: Tim Miller

So today, I’ve just seen the new “Deadpool” movie. Here is my review:

Plot/Synopsis: This is the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

I have to hand it to the film makers of this movie. This was a pretty ballsy movie to make due to it’s content. Most Marvel movies over the years were pretty family friendly. They’ve made movies that were aimed toward children since Marvel is now owned by Disney and all. Disney allowing Marvel to make an R rated superhero movie? Yes… I know there have been plenty of other R rated superhero movies and this wasn’t the first R rated Marvel movie either. Another Marvel movie that has an R rating was “The Punisher” with Thomas Jane in 2004 but that movie was before Disney bought Marvel, though. I believe “Deadpool” is the first R rated superhero movie by Marvel under Disney ownership. I’m pretty sure Marvel battled Disney over this privately ’cause Disney was probably against this movie due to it’s adult content since Disney is family friendly so it is quite a surprise that Marvel would make a movie like this.

I thought “Deadpool” was amazing. It’s definitely the best Marvel film and it’s a true comic book movie. This movie is strictly for adults. It’s definitely not a movie for children at all. You want a superhero movie full of sex, nudity, violence and blood? You’re gonna get all that in “Deadpool”. There’s a variety of genres in “Deadpool”. It’s not just an action movie, it’s also a romance movie and a comedy.

I thought the film was well made and well written. Well acted by the cast too. Of course, the action scenes were a blast to watch as well. This movie is also a revenge movie.

To hell with “50 Shades of Grey”. “50 Shades” is a romance movie for women. “Deadpool” is a romance movie for guys. “Deadpool” is definitely not a chick flick that’s for sure. It’s a guy flick. When you go see “Deadpool”, you’ll see mostly men in the audience. This is Ryan Reynolds best superhero role too. I didn’t like his role in the “Green Lantern” and finally Ryan found a superhero that fits him. “Deadpool” is where Ryan Reynolds belong. Go see, “Deadpool” asap.

Score for “Deadpool”. 5 out of 5 as in “excellent”.

Star Wars producers prosecuted over Harrison Ford injury… what? This is not what Harrison himself would want!

Isn’t it supposed to be all up to Harrison himself on whether or not he wants to prosecute for his injury on the Star Wars set? The Health and Safety Executive brought criminal charges against Foodles Production which is a company owned by Disney. I’m pretty sure the HSE has no authority to do this so what they’re doing is definitely illegal, in my opinion.

It’s really all up to Harrison whether or not he wants to press charges but I’m sure he’s never gonna do that ’cause Harrison knows it was just an accident. That was all. I’m sure him and JJ were cool with it.

Harrison wouldn’t want this so I’m sure he’ll find a way to get the HSE to back off. What would the charges be. More fines? I think the HSE is looking for a big payday. That’s all they’re doing, I think.

Is Sly purposely allowing his hair to go grey? Preparing for “Creed 2”???

In the past, Sylvester always kept his hair black. He probably used hair dye to keep his hair black so he can continue to look younger for his action movies like “The Expendables”.

Noticing that Sly’s hair is getting greyer and greyer. I think his hair getting grey on purpose ’cause he’s preparing for “Creed 2”. In order to look a lot older in “Creed 2”, his hair probably needs to be really grey in order for it to work.

“Creed 2” probably won’t come out in a few years so they can give Sly some time to age and look old. They want him to be the next Mickey is their goal, I think.

No matter how old Sly gets, he still looks real good, though. Only Sly can look great at an old age.

Lionsgate moving forward with “Saw 8″… will Tobin Bell return as Jigsaw???

Man, I’m so glad this is happening ’cause I fucking LOVE the “SAW” movies. I love ’em all. All 7 films. It’s a pretty long series but each film is pretty smart storytelling. They all tell an actual story which is what I love about ’em. I also love the story of John Kramer. Pretty insightful stuff.

Lionsgate is moving forward with “SAW 8” which is currently titled, “SAW: Legacy”. Ever since the first SAW film came out in 2004 directed by James Wan, the series became such a smash hit. Each time a sequel came out every Oct., the film is a smash hit. Each film did very well in the box office so I’m not surprised they’re planning another one.

The 7th film kind of did leave open for another movie so it’s obviously not over yet. The Game isn’t over. Hear Jigsaw’s voice, “I want to play a game”.

‘Saw’: Lionsgate Begins Developing Next Sequel, ‘Legacy’

Will Tobin Bell return as John Kramer/Jigsaw? Given the title that it is “Saw: Legacy”… hint the title, “Legacy”… it’s hinting you that the next film will be about chronicling the earlier films so there’s probably gonna be a lot of flashbacks. So yeah, I think there’s a very BIG change Tobin Bell will return.

Only thing is, though that John Kramer died of cancer in one of the earlier films so how would they bring him back? Would they do more flashbacks? Um no… I think that’s a lame idea. I think it would be more interesting if they can find a way to bring Kramer back from the dead. Keep in mind this is “horror” so anything is possible.

I love the SAW movies and I’m absolutely down with the new one. It’s good timing to do another one ’cause Tobin Bell is getting old… he’s in his 70’s now but I’m sure he’s still in good health to do one more movie.

Sly posted a bunch of pics of “Rocky vs. Creed” in the first Rocky movie on his instagram page… cool stuff…

Check out Sly Stallone’s instagram. He’s posting a bunch of photos from the first “Rocky” movie of the Rocky vs. Creed fight. Is this Sly’s way of trying get a buzz going for “Creed II”??? Probably.

The first and original “Rocky” movie in 1976 never gets old. I can watch that movie so many times and never get tired of it!

The Coen Bros. slams the “Oscars So White” controversy… they say the Oscars not so important and I agree…

This makes me respect the Coen Bros. even more. They’ve been my favorite film makers for years and they continue to be my favorite. This article at the Daily Beast criticizes the Coen Bros. on why their latest movie, “Hail! Caesar” has lack of diversity. Their reply? It’s because it isn’t right for the story. The Coen Bros. gives what the story needs. Yet this article continues to criticize them on lack of diversity and the Coen Bros. try to defend themselves. Is the writer of this article trying to make the Coen Bros. look like a couple of racists? That’s what it’s looking like to me.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/02/04/the-coen-brothers-the-oscars-are-not-that-important.html

The Coen Bros. are definitely not racists as you watch their previous films, they had black actors. They only go what’s right for the film, ya know? That’s what it’s all about.

So if there are films that has no black actors or other ethnicities then it probably wasn’t right for the story.

Maybe the reason for lack of diversity in the Oscars is ’cause there wasn’t many films that had black actors? Ever think of that? Blaming the Oscars for it is pretty ridiculous.

I don’t even know if I wanna watch the Oscars this year ’cause I don’t want to hear Chris Rock going on and on and on and on about it throughout the whole night. *yawn*

Tom Cruise and Jerry Bruckheimer reunite to discuss “Top Gun 2″…

Yesterday, Jerry Bruckheimer posted a selfie with Tom Cruise on his twitter page. Jerry Bruckheimer was one of the producers of the first “Top Gun” movie which was directed by the Tony Scott. The first “Top Gun” movie was such a classic film and it’s definitely one of Tom’s best films in his career for sure. It looks like “Top Gun 2” is really gonna happen.

Who’s gonna be the director? If Tony Scott was still alive (RIP, btw), I’m sure he would have done it so so they’re gonna have find a different director. Hope they get somebody good. Will Tom be the lead as “Maverick” or is he just gonna have a small role? We’ll learn more soon. I hope Tom won’t just have a small role, he needs to be the lead. I also hope Val Kilmer and Kelly McGillis reprises their roles too. Sure, Kelly McGillis is aging now but a reunion between Maverick and Charlie would be amazing.

Mr. Bruckheimer, if you want the “Top Gun” sequel to work and get everyone to love it… please bring back the “Anthem” theme as heard in the video below and bring back Berlin’s “Take My Breathe Away”. Make it more like a homage to the first movie would be badass.

Maybe Will Smith wasn’t nominated for an Oscar ’cause maybe he’s a shit actor and overrated as hell???

Awwwww so Hollywood and movie fans are upset that Will Smith wasn’t nominated for anything… boo hoo. I never liked Will Smith anyways. He never was a good actor and I think he’s overrated as hell too. I never liked most of his movies. There were only a few good Will Smith movies. The only movies that I liked with Will Smith in them were “Independence Day” and I’m also a fan of the Men In Black franchise but that’s about all. It’s just that most of his movies were pretty mediocre and overrated. I never liked Will Smith as an actor. Never cared for him.

Don’t get me wrong… I love black actors in Hollywood ’cause a few of my favorite black actors are: Denzel Washington, Forest Whitaker, Laurence Fishburne, Don Cheadle, James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman. I’m just not a big fan of Will Smith. Will never was that good. I’m glad that the Academy snubbed Will ’cause that was a smart move for the most part. Will’s latest movie “Concussion” looks nothing special.

Those getting angry of Will not getting anything needs to get over themselves. I can’t stand Jada Pinkett. The Smith family is so ego-driven. I don’t think that whole Smith family deserves all this attention. That whole family: Will, Jada Pinkett, Willow and Jaden are obviously desperate for fame & fortune. Is that the only reason Jada Pinkett married Will so that whole family could get fame & fortune much like the Kardashians and the Osbournes? I’m so tired of the Smith family… uggggghhhh… who cares if they don’t get Oscars ’cause they don’t deserve ’em in my opinion. There are plenty of other talented black actors who are more deserving.

Turns out Sly might give up “The Expendables” franchise after all? Is he about to give up action movies completely?

It’s really turning out that Sylvester Stallone maybe finished with action movies for good. First, he announced that he is done playing Rambo. Now he might give up the Expendables franchise. Sly starred as Barney Ross in the first three Expendables movies and in Expendables 4, there’s a lot of talk that Hulk Hogan may takeover as the leading hero in the franchise. The Rock may also be casted as the film’s main villain.

Also the main reason why Sly is giving up action movies lately is ’cause he’s going to keep his focus on “Creed 2”. Plus, Sly is on the verge of hitting 70 soon so his body probably can’t take doing his own stunts anymore.

What do you think? Do you think the “Expendables” franchise could do well in the box office without Sly in the lead? I don’t know. People watch these films mostly for him anyways but with the Rock possibly gonna be casted as the main villain that could help the box office for sure. Dwayne Johnson playing a villain in a movie? Wow. That’s interesting. Dwayne’s played mostly heroes in his movies so him playing the bad guy would be cool. I know Dwayne can play an awesome bad guy ’cause he’s played a heel wrestler in WWE many times.

Netflix releases “Pee Wee’s Big Holiday” teaser…

Seems like the new Pee Wee movie, “Big Holiday” might be a sequel or some kind of continuation from “Big Adventure” after all. As you can see Pee Wee still lives in the same house he did in “Big Adventure” and he still has Speck the dog.

Paul Reubens has been wanting to make a new Pee Wee movie for years and he’s finally got it off the ground so congrats to him. I’m looking forward to this film. Yes, I’m a Pee Wee fan. He’s an entertaining character for people of all ages. You may think the Pee Wee character was made for children but the Pee Wee character has a fanbase of mostly full grown adults. It’s true. You’d be surprise to see how many people who are in their 30’s – 50’s and they’re big fans of Pee Wee Herman. I’ve always been a fan my whole life. I’ll be watching this for sure since I’m a proud Netflix subscriber.
