Feeling really great on deadlifts…watch me pull a 280 lbs. for a double…

I’ve been killing it on the deadlifts for the past couple of weeks. Today, I just did a 280 lb. for a double which was pretty easy. Maybe I should have gone for a 3rd rep on that number but definitely another time.

I think next week will be 1 rep max week on the big three so I can find out what my bests lifts are. Hopefully soon I’ll be doing 300 lbs. for reps which is what my goal is right now.

This is the first video I made on my new Ipod touch Gen. 6th. Enjoy.

Truth bomb: Are local musicians in your scene a bunch of narcissists? Yes, they most definitely are!!!

Here’s another shocking truth bomb that many of you I know will call “bullshit” but it’s true. Knowing from my own experience of dealing with local musicians over the years, most of them don’t really care about you. Most of them only care about themselves really. You want to know why a lot of musicians around the scene are friendly with other musicians and sharing gigs with others and all that stuff? It’s because musicians will only like you if you do stuff for them. Like, if you give them positive feedback on their playing, buy their music or go see a show of theirs that’s when they’ll be all over you, but at the end of the day… they don’t give a flying fuck about you. You may support them but many of them will not support you in return knowing from my own experience.

A lot of people make the mistake that a lot of musicians out there in your scene are good people and a bunch of sweethearts. Um, no. Like I said in a post before, not all of them are gonna be good people. Some of them will be but from what I’ve experienced throughout the years of my life in the music scene, most musicians around here are nothing but flat-out douchebags. Like I said in a post before, you can’t really trust a lot of them. You will meet musicians with many different personalities. Yes, you will meet some musicians out there who can be good people and sweethearts but you will always meet some that have many different personalities. You will meet musicians who can be real jerks… a lot of them can have short temper problems. You will meet egomaniacs, attention whores and you will meet musicians who are really weird.

There will be a lot of musicians out there who only accepts positive feedback about their playing and their music. If you give them any criticism of any kind or disagreements of any kind, they can be all defensive. Maybe that’s a part of why a lot of them hate me ’cause they don’t like that I can disagree with them.

A lot of musicians in your local scene like to promote themselves as if they are rock stars when they are not and that has always been a problem for years. It still is a problem and it’s even worse now with all this social media stuff going on with bands. Yeah, I understand they use social media as a way to promote your band but acting like a rock star when doing it is wrong, in my opinion.

Some of you may ask, how do local bands act like rock stars when promoting themselves on social media? Hmmmm… let me give you some examples: announcing tour dates (even when the shows are all local they still call them tours), announcing release dates for their records, releasing singles, having a merchandise section on the band’s websites (sell t-shirts, posters, etc.), bands & artists being mostly about themselves instead of engaging with the fans, etc. I can go on all day. You don’t need to promote yourself that way and I never did.

So many live in rock star fantasy land. It’s pretty crazy, ya know?

I never took myself seriously as a musician. If I wrote a demo or a song, I’ll just release it. When I promote myself on social media, I like to be more engaging with people and actually talking with everyone and replying to everyone. I just want to make music and play. That’s all I want to do. I’m an unsigned musician and I act like it. Even though I am an unsigned musician, I don’t pretend that I’m a signed artists like so many local musicians do around here. That’s the rock star wannabe, I’m talking about. What’s even worse with “local bands” acting like rock stars is that a lot of them have managers and booking agents when you don’t need either one of those.

The reason why so many unsigned bands pretend to be “signed” bands is ’cause they think they’re entitled to success and recognition. That’s why you see many of them going off about their successes and accolades in front of their fanbase. Many of them just don’t let the music speak on it’s own and they think success/recognition will fall in their lap. Either that or many of them already think they’ve been established in the scene when they are not really.

I don’t see myself as a professional musician or a rock star and never did. I just want to play, play, play and that’s all. Just play, rock out and have fun. I just want to do like what everyone else is doing is playing music.

No doubt that a lot of musicians are big narcissists and I’ve been saying it for years. I’ve had too many musicians who got so hell-bent on destroying me and had many refusing to talk to me ’cause of my “right-wing” views in politics. This is not good for the scene and it’s getting worse. I’m sure many of them still hate me but I don’t give a shit, ya know? Life is real good. I’m still playing the guitar, singing and focused on powerlifting. Life is great.

I don’t understand all the hate for Metallica’s “Load/Reload” albums… both of them are killer albums, in my opinion…

Even though Metallica’s “Load” and “Re-load” albums both came out like over 20 years ago, Metallica fans are still shitting on these albums even to this day. These are the “thrash metal” only type of Metallica fans that I’m talking about. The type of fans who want to hear only thrash metal from them and that’s it.

Well, I just re-listened to “Load” and “Re-load” albums this week while at the gym and I’m still blown away by those albums. People are calling those albums “alternative” music but I completely disagree. If you actually take the time to listen to the two albums from start to finish, you would still hear that these albums still have “metal” on them and a lot of songs on these albums are still pretty “thrashy” too. So technically they haven’t really moved away from thrash metal at all. Yeah, “Load/Reload” are both pretty different than the 80’s and 90’s metal but that’s what happens with bands when they get older, ya know? The older they get, the more mature their songwriting gets.

This is what a lot of bands do. Some of them just get tired of playing the same style of music for years and years and I love it when bands take big risks like this. I don’t care what the so-called fans think. I think “Load” and “Re-load” both have some pretty incredible songwriting on them. A lot of songs on the albums can still be pretty fucking tight and heavy too. James singing and rhythm guitar work are both pretty impressive.

I’ve heard every Metallica album they’ve ever done and I’ve loved everything they’ve done including “St. Anger” and “Lulu”.

When it comes to “Load” and “Re-load”, I think it’s crazy that people don’t like songs such as “King Nothing”, “Fuel”, “The Memory Remains”, “Until It Sleeps”, “Hero of the Day”, etc. Yes, they are hit songs but still they are beautifully written songs and I love them all.

Metallica is still amazing and always will be. They’re still one of my favorite bands. I have most all of their albums except I’m missing “And Justice For All” and “St. Anger”. Used to have them both on CD but lost them somewhere. I’ll buy them on Itunes soon so I can complete their entire album discography.

It’s weird, ya know? Metallica fans want the band to put out a new album and when they do, everybody starts shitting on it. It happens with pretty much every album they put out. They’ve done that with “Death Magnetic” and “Hardwired”. It’s happening again. Metallica are about to hit the studio again to make their follow up to “Hardwired” and I’m sure fans will be shitting on their next album too.

Oh well…. fuck the so-called fans. Metallica is still great and I’m looking forward to their next album. People need to learn that bands changes and evolves over the years. That’s the way it goes.

Sylvester Stallone to be guest at Keystone Comic Con in Philadelphia in Aug… oh wow, I definitely wanna go!

Sly Stallone has been announced as the first guest to appear at the Keystone Comic Con event in Philadelphia in August. Sly will be there for two days to sign autographs and take pics with fans.

I’m not sure how much Sly is planning on charging fans for autographs & pics ’cause there is no info yet on the keystone website but I’m sure we’ll find out soon. Hopefully Sly won’t be charging a lot.

https://www.keystonecomiccon.com/Guests/

https://www.philly.com/celebrity/sylvester-stallone-keystone-comic-con-philadelphia-20190507.html

This wasn’t the first time Sly appeared at a Comic Con event, though. The first time he appeared at a Comic Con event was way back in 2013 at the NY Comic Con to promote the movie “Escape Plan” with Arnold. Sly did an autograph/photo op session with fans but he charged like $395 or over for autographs/pics.

I’m hoping Sly will bring the price way down for this one.

Will I go to Philly just for this? I’m thinking about it depending on the price of Sly’s autograph line.

When celebrities do Comic Con events, they make you pay for autographs and pics. The celebrities themselves decide the prices for both. Sometimes they are cheap and sometimes they are not. Some celebrities will even do it for free.

Going to Philadelphia for a couple of days would be a nice little vacation for me, though. Save up some money and get down there. I’ve never visited Philly and always wanted to, though. If I went to Keystone Comic Con, I’ll probably do some sight seeing in Philly too by visiting all the Rocky filming locations especially the Art Museum aka the Rocky steps and I want to see the Rocky statue too.

Philly is a 4 hour drive from here so it would be a nice little road trip. Hopefully Sly won’t be charging so much for autographs/pics. If he is then forget it. I would love to meet the man in person someday, though. Talk to him for a little bit, get his autograph and picture with him. Would be a dream come true. On my bucket list to meet Sly in person.

“Avengers: Endgame” one of the best superhero films ever made??? Yes, it sure definitely is!

Yesterday afternoon, I went and saw “Avengers: Endgame” in theater for the second time. I’m still blown away by the film and loved it even more the second time. It’s definitely a masterpiece of a film and definitely one of the best superhero films ever made.

There has been many superhero films over the years. Some of them were crap, some of them were pretty good but it’s very rare that Hollywood makes a superhero film that’s really good. Why? It’s hard to make a really good superhero film but sometimes Hollywood does make a really good one.

My Top 10 Favorite superhero films in no particular order:

Superman: The Movie
Superman II
The Dark Knight (w/ Heath Ledger as Joker)
Robocop (the first one with Peter Weller)
Watchmen
Batman (yes, the Burton/Keaton/Nicholson movie)
The Crow (1994 film with Brandon Lee)
Logan (this is the best Wolverine film and still need to get the BluRay at some point)
The Punisher (1994 film w/Thomas Jane, in my opinion this is the best Punisher film)
Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse (Animated film but still really good, I was never into Spiderman until I saw this. Still need to get the BluRay soon)

Now you can add “Avengers: Endgame” to that list. I thought the Russo brothers did a great job with “Infinity War/Endgame” ’cause they were both really good movies.

Watching all these superhero movies in the theater over the years of my life, sparked my interest in comics and graphic novels. I just started collecting comics and graphic novels ’cause of it all. I have a small comic and graphic novel collection but it’s a good start.

Keep in mind that it was Superman that started this whole superhero craze. Superman started the comics and he started the live action films. There were no other superhero movies before “Superman: The Movie” came out. They don’t call Superman the king of all superheroes for no reason ’cause he really is. He started it all. Marvel wouldn’t have been around if it wasn’t for him.

Just bought a new Ipod Touch like I said I would… it’s the Generation 6 32 GB…

So yesterday, I picked up a new Ipod Touch. For a long while, I’ve been saying that I’ve been wanting buy a new one and finally got one. So far, it’s working really good and so far, I really like it a lot. I brought it to the gym with me yesterday evening to listen to it while working out and it sounds good.

This Ipod Touch is definitely way better than the old one. It’s a lot faster. The camera on it is definitely 10 x’s better. Best of all, the Ipod touch came with Garageband and Imovie. I’m glad I get to use Garageband on my new Ipod so if I have a song idea when I’m out and about, I can record the melody on it with my voice. That’s what I’ll probably use it for. Plus to record guitar riffs on it too, maybe.

As far as the camera on it goes, I’m very impressed with the camera. It’s definitely more clearer. I’m not just gonna be listening to music with the new Ipod touch. I’m also gonna use it as a camera too so I can take pics/video for social media and to make videoblogs with. I’ll take pics & video with my new Ipod Touch from now on.

It’s a very impressive gadget and I’m happy with it. I’m going to have to learn how to use the Ipod Touch Gen. 6 ’cause it’s pretty complicated right now but I’ll figure it all out, though. Getting the hang of things.

A lot of people want to criticize Apple products but I don’t know why. I love Apple so I don’t get all the hate. I used to hate Apple myself and wanted nothing to do with Apple products in the past but since I got my first Ipad, I’ve had a change of heart.

Speaking of the Ipad, I’m planning on buying a new one too but not right away though. I’m going to get a new Ipad sometime next year, I think.

Thinking about making an electric guitar rock demo… probably will…

For a long while now, I’ve been wanting to write original electric guitar rock songs. I’ve been playing the electric guitar more and more which I feel really good about. Ya know, I’ve been playing acoustic for so long that I just grew tired of it and I figure it’s finally time to get into electric guitar playing full time. I’ll never give up acoustic guitar, of course. I just want to focus on electric more.

I’ve wrote original songs on the acoustic for years but now I want to see if I’m able to write original songs on the electric guitar. If I were to start recording songs on the electric guitar, it would just be my and my electric. There will be no drums and bass behind them for now. It’s just going to be a demo.

I want to see if I can write much heavier rock songs. Write a bunch of riffs, put them together, write lyrics for them and all that stuff. Yeah, the songs will be more of a heavier rock side. I’ll probably use the Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal to write the songs with. I’m thinking the songs will be a mix of metal, grunge/alternative rock kind of stuff.

I’ve grown pretty bored of the acoustic finally and feel it’s finally time to rock. I’ve been learning more cover songs on the electric guitar too. I love the electric guitar and want to keep at it.

Maybe if I feel the upcoming electric rock songs will be good enough, I’ll find a bass player and a drummer so they can be full band songs. Would be cool.

Just ripped most of my CD collection into my Itunes library, now I have a pretty massive Itunes library…

Earlier this week, I spent a lot of time ripping most of my CD collection onto my Itunes library so now my Itunes library is pretty massive. Yeah, my CD collection is pretty huge as you can see. Why is my CD collection big? Well, I’ve collected CD’s throughout my life pretty much. Before the age of Itunes and digital music, I was going to record stores all the time when CD’s used to be a “thing”. Now that there are no record stores anymore, I buy a lot of albums from Itunes now.

I still do buy albums on physical CD when I can, though. I buy albums on CD from F.Y.E. and Barnes & Noble sometimes when I see an album that I think I might like. I used to buy CD’s from Best Buy sometimes as well but now Best Buy don’t sell CD’s anymore which sucks.

Looking at my Itunes library, I’m surprised at how many albums that I have by my favorite artists. I have 17 albums by David Bowie, I have 15 albums by Neil Young, 8 albums by U2, have 5 albums by Tom Petty, 7 albums by Radiohead, 7 albums by Opeth, have most albums by Metallica (except for “St. Anger” and “And Justice For All”), 7 albums by Megadeth, 12 albums by Kiss, 8 albums by Dream Theater,  7 albums by the Beatles and I can go on and on.

Kind of crazy! Yeah, I’m a huge fan of all those bands and artists I’ve talked about above and I’m trying to collect their entire discography. As far as Neil Young goes, I don’t agree with his politics but he’s still an amazing musician and incredible singer/songwriter. I’ve been a huge Neil Young fan for years and still am. There are still more Neil Young albums I want to get.

I have almost every Metallica album but I’m missing “St. Anger” and “And Justice For All”. I used to own those two albums on CD but don’t have them anymore and lost them somewhere. Looks like I’ll have to re-buy them and get them on Itunes so I can complete Metallica’s discography.

Only Led Zeppelin album I don’t own is “In Through The Outdoor” but I’ll get that from Itunes sometime.

I love Radiohead as you can see. Always did for a long time, I only need two albums of theirs and then I’ll get their entire discography too. Just “Hail to the Thief” and their latest record “A Moon Shaped Pool”. I’m trying to collect all Megadeth albums, all Kiss albums, all Opeth albums and all of U2 albums. The Beatles as well.

Yeah, I still love U2. Everybody hates them but I don’t care. U2 is still a great band and I love them still. Don’t care what anyone thinks.

I won’t collect every album of every band & artist out there, just the ones that I love. I just love buying music and supporting artists, ya know? That’s always been a huge part of me and it’s who I am: a music lover. There are some people out there who like to criticize and judge me for my music addiction but I don’t give a shit. I love listening to music. Have always been a music lover ever since I was a child.

A lot of people want to hate on Itunes but I don’t know why. Itunes is pretty cool in my opinion. You just gotta know how to use it in order to like it more.

The reason I ripped most of my CD collection onto my Itunes is ’cause I’m getting a new Ipod Touch pretty soon. Probably next week. Gonna go to Best Buy next week and pick up the Ipod Touch Gen. 6 (32 GB) and can’t wait.

So glad I discovered powerlifting, I’ll probably do this until I can’t do it anymore!

Some of you may ask, how long do I plan on doing powerlifting training and competing in powerlifting? Well, I think I’ll keep doing it until I can’t do it anymore. Some people may think I’m a bit too old to get into powerlifting but just so you are aware, powerlifting is for everyone and for people of all ages. I’ve done three powerlifting meets and seen powerlifting meets live online. There are people who do powerlifting from ages 40 and up. Yes, you’ll even see 70 year old men competing in powerlifitng. I’m not too old to get into powerlifting at all ’cause I’m only 42 and technically, that age is pretty young still.

Ever since I started this powerlifting journey last summer in 2018, I’ve been feeling stronger and stronger week after week. Feels pretty amazing really. A lot of people want to knock powerlifting and make fun of the sport but I don’t know why. Powerlifting is amazing to get into. I got into it hoping to get stronger quicker and get bigger quicker and it’s working pretty much. I’m feeling great in powerlifting training so it’s all worth it.

Admittedly, I got into powerlifting to win and kick ass. I’ll confess it. I know I said I never got into powerlifting to win trophies and medals but I’ll take that back. I want to win. Kick ass, break records and hopefully win the “overall lifter” award in a powerlifting meet. I never got to play in any sports over the years of my life due to my scoliosis but since I can do powerlifting, I want to feel like a winner and feel like a champion, ya know? This is an opportunity for me to get into a professional sport.

Yeah, someday in the future, I’m going to start doing the bigger meets and hopefully do the national ones. That’s why I’m going to sign up for the USAPL sometime this year. I’m going to do my first USAPL powerlifting meet and hopefully I’ll do one this year. I’m hoping to do the Northeast IronBeast which is a USAPL meet in Latham this year.

I’m not gonna go too crazy with powerlifting meets. I’m only gonna do like 2 or 3 a year ’cause you don’t wanna do too many, ya know? I don’t wanna do too many.

I love powerlifting. There’s a lot of great benefits with it. I hope to be in the sport for a very long time and will probably do this ’til the day I die. I’m actually not too late to get into powerlifting at all. I’m at a great age to get started.

I had a real good squat session at the gym this morning. I’ve been doing 145 lbs. squat for triples lately so I’m predicting my estimated 1 rep max on squat could be about 165 lbs. or 170. I’m planning to test my 1 rep max pretty soon.

Obama and Hillary wants to take down Trump ’cause they’re afraid Trump is gonna expose their crimes…

Want to know why the left and Democrats are so obsessed with wanting to take down Trump? It’s not only because they think he’s a horrible president but the only reason why I think they want to get him out of office ’cause Trump is going to expose all their crimes. That’s what I’m noticing of what’s going on. You see what’s going on with Trump’s nasty feud against Democrats and liberal political figures, the more Trump decides to have plans in exposing Democrat crimes, the harder they want to bring Trump down.

Do you see what’s going on here? Trump is going after Hillary about the deleted e-mails and hidden server. Trump is going after Obama for the spying. After that, the Democrats wants to investigate Trump even more. Democrats wanted the Muller Report out, they got want they wanted but of course they are still not satisfied. Now they want to keep the investigations going by investigating Robert Mueller and William Barr. Freakin’ bullshit but no surprise really. I think it’s because Dems are getting scared about what’s about ready to come out of Hillary and Barack.

Why did Hillary hide the e-mails? I’ve always said the e-mails probably have a lot of stuff with her and Barack’s involvement in the Benghazi attacks and that’s probably how it’s gonna turn out. My prediction. The e-mails will have everything we don’t know about Benghazi. They’re getting scared that everything is about to come out pretty soon. Hillary and Barack will finally be held to account and justice is coming.

Trump will very soon be sending people to prison and hopefully Hillary and Barack will be locked up with them. It’s been a long time coming and so long overdue. That’s why they all want Trump impeached. They want to see Trump as a criminal but Trump has never done anything illegal. Some of you may say, “You’re just kissing Trump’s ass”. No, I’m not. If I saw that Trump committed a crime, I probably would get off the Trump train but since he hasn’t broken the law yet, I’ll stay on. Democrats and lefties want to find a crime in Trump but so far they haven’t found anything. They won’t give up until they find something which is pathetic.

Hillary and Barack are the real criminals and they should have been locked up a long time ago. I predict they will be locked up pretty soon. It’s gonna happen, trust me. It may be slow moving on locking them up but they will bring down the hammer on them soon enough. Wait for it. It is looking like that Hillary and Barack maybe locked up soon and that’s why the left is scared. They know it’s happening.

Get ready. Justice is coming and people are going to prison! FINALLY!

I’ve never forgotten about Benghazi, btw.
