Top Ten Greatest Movie Dads of All Time!!!

It’s fathers Day Weekend. And I just wanted to name my favorite movie Dads of all times. Characters that are fathers in hollywood movies over the years.

Here’s my top ten in no particular order:

  • Sean Connery as Henry Jones Sr. in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” – this one definitely tops my list. Definitely my favorite movie Dad that you can actually watch and enjoy.
  • Chevy Chase as Clark Griswold in the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” series – I loved all the National Lampoon’s movies with Chevy in them. Chevy Chase is great playing a family father that is a crazy whacko!!!
  • Michael Douglas as Robert Wakefield in “Traffic” – Douglas plays an intense character and some of his best acting in his career. He plays a father who has a daughter who is a cocaine addict while this war on drugs is being fought.
  • Crispin Glover as George McFly in “Back to the Future I and II” – One of the best movie Dads ever, in my opinion. Can’t forget that weird George McFly laugh and being a peeping tom. Crispin is great in both “Back to the Future’s 1 and 2”.
  •  Richard Dreyfuss as Roy Neary in “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” – Can’t forget that classic scene when this guy is at the dinner table trying to form a huge pile of mashed potatoes into a mountain shape. Great flick and one of Spielberg’s best films!
  • Marlon Brando as Don Vito Corleone in “The Godfather” – Can’t leave this classic off the list.
  • Marlon Brando as Jor-El in “Superman: The Movie” – There is something so special and very intense about Marlon Brando playing Jor-El in the first Superman movie. Something that sends chills down your spine about this character in the film. Such powerful acting, in my opinion.
  • Sylvester Stallone as Rocky in the “Rocky” series – If you’re going to do a top father’s day movie list with the greatest dads, then you have no business doing one if you leave Rocky Balboa out.
  • Liam Neeson as Bryan Mills in “Taken” – How would you like to have a father like this? If you get kidnapped by gangs and other criminals, your Dad comes to the rescue.
  • Tom Hanks as Michael Sullivan, Paul Newman as John Rooney in “The Road To Perdition” – In this fantastic and amazing movie, Tom Hanks plays a father in which his son doesn’t know that he is a career criminal aka, a mobster. Committing crimes is what his father did for a living.

Brock picks up “Ghostbusters – The Video Game” yesterday…

Yesterday at the mall, I picked up “Ghostbusters – The Video Game”. This makes it my 20th game for the ps3, yes, I have 20 games for it now. I’ve only beaten like half of ’em. I won’t start, “Ghostbusters” yet, like I said before, I must finish, “Resident Evil 5” first, which I think I am on either Chapter 4 or 5.

I also picked up the new Spinal Tap album, “Back From the Dead” which I also haven’t listened to but hopefully soon.

I spent all morning working out at the gym, I’m just here at the computer relaxing until I have to work at 5 tonight. Yep, working out and feeling physical is really good. Most people I’m noticing hates working out and drives them nuts, but I’m very confident and committed with it. Then I went to Whipple City Weekend Festival in town of Greenwich to cool down with a cold lemonade.

I’ll blog for a little while, then I’ll play some Ps3 before work tonight.

UFC 100 ppv looks like a great one, Brock Lesnar in the main event again!

I’m looking forward to seeing “UFC 100” ppv, ’cause it has Brock Lesnar in the main event again. I guess you can say that Brock Lesnar is my favorite UFC fighter that I’m a big fan of. I’ve been a supporter of this dude ever since he was in WWE. It’s Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir for the UFC Heavyweight Title. I hope these guys put on a hell of a fight and hope they won’t make it boring. You know Brock Lesnar, he doesn’t mess around and he’ll fight.

I’ll be able to watch UFC ppv’s in High Definition ’cause I just got a HD Cable box from Time Warner. HDTV in cable is really amazing picture. I’m impressed with it.

Harry Knowles writes his experience visiting “Expendables” set on AICN…

This is a very interesting read.

Think Dolph Lundgren is a very talkative and confident guy? Not really. Dolph Lundgren, the toughguy legend we all know is actually a very quiet and shy person…Harry explained it all himself…

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/41461

When Harry met Jet Li, all Harry got was a handshake and a smile from Jet, that was it, Jet didn’t talk at all.

So you think meeting famous movie stars in person is a cool thing, don’t get the wrong idea. A lot of times meeting your favorite heros can turn out dissapointing. Some celebs can be rude, have bad attitudes, can be shy/quiet, etc. Some celebs can be very nice, polite, talkative and friendly with their fans. Celebrities are different when meeting people who are not famous.

Anyhow, back to the Expendables, seems like Sly is very committed to pleasing everyone by making an in your face kick ass action flick that we all can love! This is the hardest work that I’ve ever seen Sly doing. It’s amazing! Coming from a man who’s like 62 or 63.

Report: “Indy 5” confirmed to be moving forward…

Lots of teases and rumours going around for a long time that “Indy 5” is in the works. Talks of an Indy 5 has been going ever since, “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” hit theater. Producer Frank Marshall, confirmed the news that “Indy 5” is in the works.

It’s no surprise to me ’cause Harrison, George and Steve has been talking about it for a long time.

AICN reports:

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/41459

As long as they don’t use the Indy passing the torch to Shia idea, I’m all for an Indy 5. Lets hope they make the next Indy more like “Raiders” or “The Last Crusade”, and stay away from the silly popcorn action and make a serious Indy movie for once.

I LOVED “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, great film, but I would like the next Indy movie that all Indy fans would love. “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” is a movie you either love or hate, we need the next Indy film that we ALL could love. SO DON’T FUCK IT UP NEXT TIME GEORGE AND STEVE!!!

Report: Jimmy Page, a huge Jack White supporter…Led Zep guitarist comes out to see the Dead Weather…

Jack White must be out of his friggin’ mind when he realizes that a huge legend like Jimmy Page supports him. Jimmy has always said great things about Jack White through his band with the White Stripes and other projects.

Jack White’s latest band, The Dead Weather, which he plays drums for…Jimmy Page came out to see the band’s debut show at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles. Jimmy Page just doesn’t support himself and Led Zeppelin’s music, it’s been well known for years that Jimmy Page supports other musicians.

Here’s thinking that Jimmy and Jack may collaborate on an album together sometime in the future?

BREAKING NEWS: Tom Cruise and Paramount Pictures officially buries the hatchet, brings J.J. Abrams onboard to produce, “Mission Impossible IV”!!!!!!

Back in 2006, Summer Redstone, terminated his longtime relationship with hollywood movie star, Tom Cruise and now they are in good terms. Tom Cruise was banned from making movies with Paramount Pictures but NOT anymore. The studio signed Tom Cruise to star in, “Mission Impossible IV”, and Tom Cruise himself brought, J.J. Abrams onboard to produce.

There is no word whether or not J.J. will be directing again, he is just producing this one for now. Summer Redstone explains he healed the friendship with Tom and seems they are getting along again.

Paramount Pictures has also greenlighted, a sequel to JJ’s “Star Trek” and a third “Transformers” film.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118005087.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

I was never really a fan of the Mission Impossible series, but this is great news to hear that Paramount put their differences aside for Tom.

Tom needs to stop being a jackass in the media, focus on his movies and not being such a big media whore.

Tom is a good actor, I liked him in “Tropic Thunder” and “Valkyrie”. Of course, I like Tom’s older films too. He is somewhat of a douche, but I hope he just improves his personality so he can get my respect back. It’s good to see Tom getting his career back on track.

Report: Now the Police is no more, Sting is back to solo…

Since the Police called it quits and finally retired from the music business not too long ago, Sting is back to doing what he was doing before. Being a solo artist.

He will release a new solo album this Fall titled, “If On a Winter’s Night…”. It’s not really a Christmas album, it’s an album that will be Winter themed songs. The songs are mostly traditionals, carols, lullabies from the British Isles. Sting also wrote two original songs himself for the album.

Sting reveals that his favorite time of the year is Winter and he loves the outdoors around that time. Sounds like he loves Winter so much that he is not afraid of the freezing cold. That’s cool though. Some people are different. Some people really do hate the hot weather in the summer, and prefer the cold more.

Billboard reports:

Interesting!
