Report: Goodbye to MTV TRL…

After 10 long years on the air, MTV’s “Total Request Live” will come to an end completely. The show started in the year 1998, it was when Carson Daly got his start in TV and now he went from that to a late night TV talk show host.

The show is planning a 2 hour special when it ends in November.

Booo hoo hoo hooo, I’m heartbroken. NOT! Actually, good riddance.

Just more evidence that MTV is dying.

What we need next is to take MTV TV station itself out of business forever. Then the music industry can live in peace without MTV.

Report: Chevy Chase wants Tina Fey to be harder on Sarah Palin next time…

Former SNL star Chevy Chase has recently seen the new SNL premiere episode and he said he was pretty impressed with Tina Fey playing Sarah Palin the Vice President hopeful. Chevy was saying he was impressed on how Tina looked and spoke exactly like Sarah Palin. He also said Hillary Clinton played by Amy Poehler wasn’t needed. He wants Tina to be much harder on Sarah Palin next time she plays her on SNL because it seems that Chevy Chase isn’t much of a fan of the real Sarah Palin herself.

While Tina Fey is a retired SNL star, I’m sure she will make another special guest appearance to play Sarah Palin again, maybe a week before election begins in November it’ll happen.

Report: SNL’s Amy Poehler quitting the show…

Saturday Night Live actress Amy Poehler will be leaving the show for good after 7 years being part of the cast. She is pregnant and expecting her first child soon. She’s not only leaving the show for a maternity leave, when her doctors allow her to return to work, she won’t be returning to SNL, she wants to pursue other opportunities in acting like acting for other TV shows and films for the big screen. She says it was really hard to make this decision and you have to know when to put it down.

I think I know why SNL stars leave the show to do more acting on TV and Hollywood films. Most of these actors who go on SNL, they go on SNL to help get their name out there as an actor. When their popularity rise on SNL, that’s when these actors realize they are too big and famous for the show, they want to move on to bigger opportunities.

SNL helped a lot of actors get to the big time. If there was no Saturday Night Live, then we would get no Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Kevin Nealon, Chris Kattan, Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Chris Farley, Tina Fey, etc. The list goes on.

Amy Poehler is getting too popular for the show, that it’s time for her to hang it up because she’s on her way to the big time. Congrats to Amy.

Report: OJ Simpson – Vegas Robbery Trial – Day 5 – Bruce Fromong suffers heart attack in court room!!!

The jury is seated, and the OJ Simpson Vegas Casino Robbery trial is finally going on. Bruce Fromong, who is a sports memorabilia dealer was the first witness to take the stand in the court room today. He was in the witness stand being interviewed by lawyers for several hours until he complained about feeling chest pains and announced he was having another heart attack. It’s been known that Mr. Fromong has heart attacks in the past. He is 54. After Fromong complained about heart attacks, Judge Glass sent the jury out of the room.

Paramedics showed up at the trial, examined him in the hallway but his attorney said he did not want to leave on a gurney. After Fromong left the trial, the court continued with more witnesses taking the stand. Even if Fromong is done with court today, he may show up to testify tomorrow on Tuesday.

The next witness that took the stand was someone from the Palace Station, a hotel casino in Vegas where Simpson and several group of men were in a huge confrontation in a room with Fromong last year. (example, Simpson audio, “You think you can steal my shit and sell it”)

In the beggining of the trial today, Yale Galanter said OJ Simpson was just there at the Casino Hotel to get his stuff back that he owned that was stolen from his home. Yale said OJ never intended to committ a crime, he was just trying to get back his personal items that OJ owned.

Have I got the feeling that Bruce Fromong faked his heart attack today as his way of covering for OJ? Him not wanting to be on a gurney says something about that.

This is almost like a TV soap opera like “Days of Our Lives” or something but this Vegas trial is worse.

It’s official. George Takei and Brad Altman are now hitched. Husband and uh, husband.

Star Trek’s Michelle Nichols who played the original Uhura was the maid of honor and Walter Koenig who played the original Chekov was the best man.

According to reports, James Doohan who played Scotty and Leonard Nimoy attended the wedding to see their former co-star get hitched. William Shatner was of course… not there.

RIP: Richard Wright 1943 – 2008

One of the founder’s of Pink Floyd and keyboardist of the band, Richard Wright, died today after battling cancer at his home in Britain. His family did not want to give any more details of his death. Before Pink Floyd, he was in a band with Roger Waters and Nick Mason, a band called Sigma 6. When Syd Barrett joined, they later became Pink Floyd officially. While Richard Wright wasn’t much of a songwriter in Pink Floyd, Wright did write two of the band’s biggest songs in history, and they are “The Great Gig In the Sky” and “Us and Them” both from “Dark Side of the Moon”.

Richard Wright quit Pink Floyd in the 1980’s to form his own band but later rejoined the band for their 1987 album, “A Momentary Lapse of Reason”. He then later played with Pink Floyd again for the live “Pulse” DVD/CD set and also Live 8 reunion.

Report: J.K. Rowling vs. Steven Vander Ark/RDR Books feud to continue…

J.K. Rowling may have won the rights over the Harry Potter Lexicon lawsuit against Steven Vander Ark and RDR Books, but it seems as though Steven and RDR aren’t backing down.

They’re planning an appeal on the judge’s decision sometime this week. They are hoping that if the “Harry Potter Lexicon” gets edited, it’ll get published that way without violating copyrights.

Report: Diesel, Cohen to return to XXX 3…

Vin Diesel must of had a change of heart in sequels lately. In the past he used to turn sequels down like crazy. Now that he’s done “Fast and the Furious 4”, Diesel is now confirmed to star in “XXX 3” to reprise his role as Xander Cage with Rob Cohen helming again.

In “XXX 2: State of the Union” Ice Cube starred the leading role with a different director. Does this mean that Ice Cube will be starring alongside Vin Diesel if Cube’s character is written in the third one? There is no word if Samuel L. Jackson will star in “XXX 3” or not as he already starred in the first two. Yes, I’m sure Samuel L. Jackson will star in the third one too, they just haven’t asked him yet.

My Top 5 Metallica albums…

Yeah, I know, another Metallica post, but I need to get this off my chest, to show you what my favorite Metallica albums are. The studio ones with original songs. My top Metallica albums in order:

1. Master of Puppets

(This will always be their best album ever made. This has always been my favorite metal and rock album, this album is hands down a masterpiece. Everything about this album is with perfection and amazing…)

2. Death Magnetic

(My second favorite album by Metallica, I still can’t believe the music on this great disc, it is definitely one of their best albums in years, an album full of tight songs and lots of “emotion” in the songwriting, very powerful music)

3. And Justice For All

(It is probably the darkest album they’ve ever done, it is a loud album but the songwriting is great, this is one of my most listened to Metallica albums)

4. The Black Album

(This album is real good, however, I find this to be a little overrated, some of these songs you can get sick and tired of hearing so many times but this album is a classic don’t get me wrong….)

5. Reload

(Out of the band’s three new albums, “Load”, “Reload” and “St. Anger”. I would find “Reload” being the great one. This album is staying away from “metal” but going for the alternative rock sound sure, but there are amazing songs on this disc. I like this album very much, it is another Metallica record I listen to quite often)
