Crazy things people do at public gyms…

After having working out at public gyms for the past two years now, I’ve been observing on how people do things there. It is amazing to me how rude people can be at the gyms.

Here is a short list that I’ve seen people do that are pretty crazy:

  • Equipment Hogging – This is the big one. I’ve seen people take up so much time on a piece of equipment that I needed to use. Maybe a half hour or more. Why do people take so long? Maybe more than one workout on the same equipment, talking on the cell phone so long in between sets, or talking to other people, etc. This is very rude. Some people think the gym is all for themselves.
  • People doing workouts in bad form – You see all kinds of people doing workouts in terrible form, but you don’t want to say anything ’cause it might piss them off and he/she might become defensive. Some people do workout in great form and some don’t, but I see too many people workout terribly.
  • Doing workouts in front of dumbbell sets – You see this all the time. Guys walk up to the dumbbell set and do workouts with dumbbells in front of the set. When I need to grab dumbbells myself and I see someone working out in front of the dumbbell rack, I’d either say, “excuse me please” or I work my way around them. When you need dumbbells at the gym, grab the weight you need and do your workouts away from it, so other people can get theirs. Again, the gym is not just for you.
  • People drinking not so healthy beverages – Coffee, soda, Gatorades, Snapple’s, etc. All that instead of water. You won’t get much success losing weight drinking that garbage. Sorry!
  • Socializing – This is a huge problem at all gyms. People go to the gym and talking with other people for more than a half hour or maybe even hours. Hello! You’re wasting your time at the gym chatting with other people. Hey, don’t get me wrong, I enjoy meeting new people at gyms as I do meet new people at gyms once in a while, but when I’m working out, leave me alone. Your muscles are calling for your weights to be worked on, but nothing’s being done if you’re wasting time chatting with other people. Just wait until you get your workouts done, then you can chat with other people at the gym. It’s good to talk with people after your workouts, not before or during. You need your concentration. Sorry.
  • Making loud noises with weights or dropping them to the floor – This is very common at gyms. Guys getting weights for barbells or dumbbells, making really loud clanging noises. This I find very annoying. When I grab the weights I need, I handle them very carefully and quietly, so they won’t make noise. The noise distracts other people working out. People dropping weights to the floor by accident happens often too. If the weight is too heavy for ya, get a spotter. Dropping heavy weight can damage the gym floor work, of course, people can’t think about that. Even worse you could get injured. Drop weights on your foot, you’ll be wearing a foot cast for a couple of months. Don’t want that do ya?
  • Benchers never using a spotter – You see this all the time. Guys benching without a spotter. Just because you have a lot of experience in bodybuilding and know what you’re doing, still doesn’t mean an accident will happen.
  • People staring – When I work out, at the public gyms, I get a lot of stares. Seriously. Not sure if they are admiring my physique or admire how I do things or they’re just jealous eyes, but the staring is kind of bothersome and distracting. I don’t stare at other people working out ’cause I concentrate on my own thing.

I can think of plenty of more, but public gyms can be crazy. People like to use the gym as their own personal playground but not me. I go there to get in shape and to get ripped. That’s all I go there for.

Report: Sam Raimi and Harry Osborn will reunite for “Oz: The Great and Powerful”…

While actor, James Franco, is busy preparing for this Sunday night’s Oscars with Anne Hathaway, Franco has signed on to “Oz: The Great & Powerful”, the prequel to “Wizard of Oz” directed by Sam Raimi. This will be the fourth time Raimi will work with Franco, as Franco played Harry Osborn, in the “Spiderman” trilogy.

James Franco’s latest film is “127 Hours” which is about the real life mountain man, Aron Ralston, who was trapped in a cliff.

Deadline, reports.

Great choice! I think Franco is a talented man. I would like him to get Best Actor award for “127 Hours” at the Oscars this Sunday, but it’s probably gonna go to Colin Firth.

Report: Tony Gilroy begins casting for new Jason Bourne movie, several actors are up for the leading role…

The new Jason Bourne, spin off film is about to start production this fall, and the film’s director, Tony Gilroy, is on the hunt for the film’s new leading star. Gilroy met up with many different actors who are in the hopes of getting the opportunity. Keep in mind though, the next actor will not be replacing Matt Damon. The next film will have nothing to do with Jason Bourne, it’s going to be a completely new different story.

Matt Damon said no to starring in the next Bourne flick ’cause he wouldn’t do it without Paul Greengrass, directing. So they had to re-write the story. Actors possibly in the running for the role: Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Taylor Kitsch, Michael Fassbender, and many more.

Deadline, reports.

My pick would be Taylor Kitsch. Taylor deserves this huge opportunity. He needs this recognition. I really hope Gyllenhaal and Maguire don’t get it.

Report: “Two and a Half Men” canceled, but not for good…

Charlie Sheen’s hit sitcom, “Two and a Half Men” have been immediately canceled, due to Sheen’s heated feud with the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre (whose real name is, Haim Levine). Sheen went on TMZ for an interview and out of the blue, he started talking trash about Lorre in a heated rant.

Read the full story, here. The show haven’t been canceled for good, only for the rest of this season.

It’s a real shame how Charlie is now. He obviously needs help and hope he gets it soon. He is a talented actor, can’t deny that. He’s been in many great movies too like “Platoon”, “Wall Street”, “Men at Work”, and many others. I hope he gets the help before it’s too late.

Thought: The sexy washboard that everyone wants, how to get it???

In facebook and other blogs, I just love it how people waste all this time doing all these ab exercises like sit ups, crunches, planks, etc. thinking that’ll give them the sexy washboard that a lot of people are dying for lately. I’m not afraid to say that is one of my goals in fitness too, to get a full visible six pack or maybe even an 8 pack. I try my best to tell people that the only way to get a visible six pack is lower the body fat that’s covering it, by doing two things: 1) Good nutrition 2) Plenty of cardio. That’s it. If you can eat healthy most of the time and do lots of cardio like 1) Running 2) Biking 3) Jogging or 4) Cardio machines at the gym, then you’re on your way to losing body fat. That’s the only way to get abs, period.

There are people in facebook that think they can eat what they want and drink all the alcohol they want, yet, they are doing all these ab exercises, and totally ignoring the healthy nutrition and cardio. People are weird like that. No wonder people fail at getting the six pack abs.

If you want the six pack, you have to change your eating style for good. You have to avoid sugars, high calories, fatty foods, fried stuff, etc. It is still okay to get off the diet and cheat, but make sure it’s on the weekends only like I do. I eat a strict nutrition during the week and on weekends I eat what I want. People also mistakenly call this a “diet”, when it should be called a “Clean nutrition”.

I’m pretty sure, I’m right. I think I have the full visible washboard, I’m pretty sure I’m just about there. I’m going to post new progress pics soon to prove it. Maybe sometime next month.

I’ll admit it, that another reason for the muscular body is I’m hoping to attract more chicks. Women like muscles on guys, so getting the washboard might help more women to check me out when I’m shirtless in the Summer time. It’s normal, because that’s why everyone wants the washboard to look sexy.

Just eat right and do a lot of cardio, then you’ll get there.

BREAKING NEWS: Mistico, a Mexican wrestler officially joins WWE, under the name of Sin Cara…

The WWE officially announced today that the company have signed a new Mexican wrestler to the WWE roster. His name is Sin Cara (formerly known as Mistico). Another short and masked wrestler with the similar looks as, Rey Mysterio. It is not known on what show they will put Sin Cara on yet, whether it will be RAW or SMACKDOWN, but I predict he will be put on SMACKDOWN. Why? Because Rey Mysterio is on SMACKDOWN.

They’ll want Sin Cara to have a feud with Rey Mysterio and then maybe become future tag team partners? Will it be Sin Cara vs. Rey Mysterio for Wrestlemania 27?

Report: Warner Bros. officially greenlights, “The Bodyguard” remake, who will take over Dolly Parton’s cover, of “I Will Always Love You”???

It’s official! Another pointless remake! The original “Bodyguard” movie was very huge in 1992. Honestly, I never cared for this movie. It was overrated. One of the most overrated in all of Hollywood movies. “The Bodyguard” and “Titanic” are both way overrated.

The remake will be written by Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer. The original movie is about a famous singer who hires a secret service agent, to protect herself from a stalker, of course, she and the secret service agent end up falling in love, which turns into a romantic movie.

The movie also got huge with Whitney Houston’s iconic cover of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You”. No director and no cast have been hired yet, just screenwriters.

See the full report here at, Deadline.

So who will take over the roles of Whitney  Houston and Kevin Costner? Jennifer Hudson or Rihanna for Whitney’s character? How about Robert Pattinson or Zac Efron for Costner’s role. Blech.

I’m getting kind of annoyed with the remakes myself.

Report: President Clooney for 2012????

In Clooney’s defense, I think he would make a better President than Donald Trump. Remember, folks, a Hollywood actor DID become President of the United States before. Ronald Reagan anyone????

In Clooney’s new interview with Newsweek magazine, he admitted he would never become President because of history with drugs, alcohol, and women.

Read more on the story, here.

Now, now, Mr. Clooney. If you knew George W. Bush’s history, he had a dark past with alcohol & drugs too, but that didn’t stop George W. for being President for 8 long years we had to put up with him.

I think Clooney would make a great president if he tried. He probably prefers concentrating on his acting career more, though.

The music theory & modes studying continues even further

Studying music theory & scales/modes, all that stuff, is so easy, even a little kid can learn it all. I wished I learned music theory when I first started playing guitar and I would have been a much better guitarist now. Theory is interesting stuff, and if you want to be called, an actual “musician”, you have to learn this stuff. You are not a real musician if you don’t know theory.

Most people make the mistake that famous guitarists like Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads, Carlos Santana and Eric Clapton, all use complex stuff in their lead guitar playing but not really. Those guitarists I just mentioned, use the simple and basic scales like most guitarist uses: the typical minor pentatonic scale and various blues scales, using modes to go along with them. Randy Rhoads uses a lot of Phrygian stuff in his solo playing. Why? Because Phrygian is a good mode for classical and metal, both. Randy is a classical guitarist, that’s how he always played his electric. Jimmy Page uses Pentatonic scales in almost everything. See? Nothing too complicated.

After I learn all this theory stuff, I would be able to come up with my own style of lead guitar soloing. I would be able to figure out what scales & modes is best for me to use. I really am trying to focus on my playing. I would like to be respected as a guitarist, so if I wanted to be respected as a real musician, I figure I’d get my shit together and learn better guitar. Go from amateur to pro. That’s my dream that I’m trying to achieve.

I’m enjoying myself and it’s feeling good. If I want my own band one day, this is another reason why I need to get better.

Report: Bill Murray claims he haven’t read the “Ghostbusters 3” script…

Not too long ago, Ivan Reitman announced that he sent the script for “Ghostbusters 3”, to Bill Murray to get his approval of the film. Bill recently had an interview with Howard Stern on Sirius. Of course, Howard had to ask  him about the script.

Bill confirmed he does have the script, but he claims he haven’t read it. He says the script have been sitting on his desk at his home office but he doesn’t know how long he haven’t read it. He says he’ll read it at some point because he doesn’t want to hurt people’s feelings who’ve been wanting him to read it.

Read Bill’s full interview with Howard, here.

Come on Billy! Pick up the damn script and read it! I’m pretty sure he has all day to read the script, for some reason he doesn’t want to. As you can see, Bill is STILL being picky with the, “Ghostbusters 3” movie. He’s very difficult about it for whatever reason. I guess Bill wants to make sure that the story is going to work in order for him to give it the greenlight.

It doesn’t take that long to read a movie script. They can take a couple of days to read. I’ve read movie scripts before.

It’ll be a shame if Bill says, “No”, to G3. So hopefully he’ll get around to reading it, lets cross our fingers if he’ll like it enough. I respect Bill’s honesty and keeping things real though. Gotta give that.
