Report: Andre 3000 is Jimi Hendrix…

There has been rumors in the past that Andre 3000, rapper/actor, was supposed to be playing Jimi Hendrix, for the biopic film, titled, “All Is By My Side”, well now, the rumor has been officially confirmed. I don’t know much about Andre 3000, since I’ve never listened to rap music all that much, but I remember seeing him in the film, “Be Cool”. Looking at Andre’s photos, he looks almost identical to Hendrix, almost like twin brothers. So I must say that Andre is a perfect fit!

More on the story, here.

Like I said, I don’t know much about the music of Andre 3000, but I do know that he really plays the guitar. He’s going to have to learn more about Hendrix’s guitar style. He’s going to learn how to play left handed. Hendrix played a right handed guitar but he reversed the strings so he could play left handed. Andre may have to do the same, which may be tough for him. I’m sure Andre will be trained by guitar instructors in Hendrix’s style.

I hate most music biopics, there’s only very few of them that I loved, like: “La Bamba” with Lou Diamond Philips, “The Buddy Holly Story” with Gary Busey, “Ray” with Jamie Foxx, and “Walk the Line” with Joaquin Phoenix.

Hopefully, this Hendrix biopic will be a real good one.

Report: Arnold signs himself onto an action movie about drug cartels called, “Ten”…

Wow. Arnold is on a roll! Since being back in Hollywood from his governor run, he has been signing himself to new movie roles like crazy. Even though Arnie, is aging, that’s still not stopping him from starring in action movies. His next film is, “The Expendables 2”, in which he gets a longer role in. He will also star in, “The Tomb” along with Sylvester Stallone, and he will star in, “The Last Stand”. Here is his latest signing, he will star in a movie called, “Ten”, and here’s the synopsis from the article: “Ten” revolves around the members of an elite DEA task force who depart from their usual operations and steal millions from a drug cartel safe house. Just when the team thinks they got away with it, someone begins to take out them out one by one.

The Hollywood Reporter, reports.

And of course, that certain someone, the synopsis is referring to is none other than, Arnold’s character. Sounds like it’s going to be a pretty violent action movie. I’m sure people are laughing at Arnold, and accusing him that he’s too old for action movies, but he’s been doing action movies for years. He’s still into bodybuilding and he still works out on a regular basis, so I’m sure he is physical enough to do his own stunts, still.

I can’t wait to see Arnold back on the big screen, because it’s been such a long time. “Expendables 2” is a perfect comeback for, the Governator! Come back with a bang!

Cool Video: “The Expendables 2” trailer is finally here with an introduction by Sylvester Stallone!

I’m hoping, the sequel to the “Expendables” will be much better than the first one, like everyone else. I did like the first, “Expendables” movie, but I’ll admit that the first film did have some problems. Hopefully, the sequel will be an improvement. What I enjoy most about the “Expendables”, is the character of Dolph, he’s probably my favorite character out of the group. Dolph does the best acting out of the cast, in my opinion, I just want the movies to do more with him. Hopefully, the sequel will have more Dolph screen time.

The trailer is full of 80’s action stars I grew up watching over the years. Arnold made an announcement in the trailer saying, “I’m back”, which is what he means that he’s back in the movies. This is Arnold’s first big screen movie since after his governor run.

While I’m a huge fan of Sly, I don’t like his look in this movie though, the mustache kind of bothers me. I’m hoping this film will be good. I’m pretty excited about the film, but I’m more excited to see, “The Avengers”, and “The Dark Knight: Rises”.

Report: Dave Grohl to make his film directing debut for the big screen. He will make a documentary about, Sound City Studios…

Dave Grohl, most famous as the frontman for the Foo Fighters, and former drummer of Nirvana, may have years of musical experience, but he has been on and off in the movie industry as well. He’s got some acting experience through his own music videos, and he made cameos in a few movies/TV shows as well. I think he even directed a few videos for the Foo Fighters himself. Well, Dave is finally making his own film. He’s doing a documentary about Sound City Studios, a legendary studio that Dave owns himself. Many rock legends over the years have recorded in it.

See the website for his film, here.

I’m sure it won’t be a world wide release, it’s probably going to be released independently, but the film sounds cool.

Cool Video: “The Dark Knight: Rises” full trailer is here!!!

Oh wow! I’m totally stoked to see, “The Dark Knight: Rises”. This could be the best superhero flick of the year, for sure. The trailer looks impressive.

It is sad that this is the final, “Dark Knight” film with Christopher Nolan directing, but I understand that he needs to move on. He can’t do Batman films forever, he needs to do other projects. I’m sure the three Batman films he did, helped make him a better director than before, and will help him make better films in the future.

Thanks, Mr. Nolan! In Nolan, I trust!

Is Bruce Willis the most overrated actor ever? I would think so…

Alright, I think I’m about tired of seeing Bruce Willis, in almost every movie trailer I see. It seems that the guy is every where lately. I’m not really a big fan of his acting, and I don’t think he makes a good action hero.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED HIM in the first “Die Hard”, but that’s probably about the best movie he was in. I also liked him in, “The Sixth Sense”, “Unbreakable”, “Pulp Fiction”, “Twelve Monkeys”, and “The Fifth Element”.

Other than that, the rest of his films hasn’t been that interesting to me. Seems like Hollywood is trying to shove Bruce in our faces lately. His next couple of movies are, “The Expendables 2”, “G.I. Joe 2”, and “Looper”. The guy comes out with at least 2 or 3 movies a year.

He is a work horse, indeed, but I’m getting tired of seeing him. He is not the badass anymore that he once was. He showed the badass part of him in the first “Die Hard” movie. His badass personality doesn’t work with his other characters. His other characters can’t top, John McClane.

Film Review: The Raven

https://i0.wp.com/www.filmtrophy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/the-raven.jpg

Starring: John Cusack, Alice Eve, Luke Evans
Directed by: James McTeigue

So today, on a cold windy day, I’ve decided to hit the mall to check out, “The Raven”. Being the big Edgar Allan Poe nut, I had to see this film for myself. Here is my review:

The film is set in Baltimore, Maryland, in the 19th century. There is a serial killer on the loose, taking victims and killing them as inspired from, Edgar Allen Poe’s fictional stories. Of course, Edgar, is being framed for these murders, so he tries to hunt down the killer himself, so he can save the love of his life, Emily.

A lot of critics gave this film bad reviews, but did they see the same movie, I did? I thought it was a pretty good one, actually. Not the best movie ever made, but I thought it was entertaining and a good enough homage to, Edgar Allan Poe.

This is NOT a biopic movie. This movie is totally fictional, mostly. The only true part of the film was Edgar’s death at the end of the movie (not a spoiler ’cause everyone knows how Edgar mysteriously died).

I look at this movie, “The Raven”, as a tribute to the late and great writer. That’s all it is. Giving a tribute of his most famous work everything from, “The Pit & the Pendulum”, to “The Tell Tale Heart” to “The Premature Burial”, and of course, throughout the film, there are tons of Edgar Allan Poe references from his poems & stories.

I thought John Cusack, made a pretty good Poe. I was pretty impressed with him. Honestly, I’m not that big of a John Cusack fan either. The only other movie I liked with him in it, was, “Being John Malkovich”. I’m just not a big fan of Cusack, but he made you feel like Poe is still alive.

I was also impressed with the cinematography and the costume design. The film was pretty dark. The film had quite a lot of gore too and actually got kind of creepy at times, too. Throughout the film, they tried to not reveal who the serial killer was, they kept it secret, but it was too predictable on who the serial killer was. I had a pretty good guess since the film first started.

Even if the writing was weak at some parts and the acting wasn’t that great, I thought it was an alright movie. This is one of those movies I will watch only once and never watch it again. I don’t think I’ll be buying it on DVD/Bluray.

Hopefully, when Sly decides to do his version of the Edgar Allan Poe story, he’ll make it a biopic film and tells the story about Edgar’s real life, and not bring any fiction into any of it. I’m sure Sly’s version will be different than this version.

Score for “The Raven” = ** (2 stars as in “okay”)

Thought: Will Sly finally get to work on the Edgar Allan Poe biopic, if “The Raven” is a hit???

So “The Raven” with John Cusack finally hits theaters tomorrow. Yes, I do plan on seeing it.

For years, Sylvester Stallone has been talking about wanting to do his own Edgar Allan Poe, biopic film. There were talks that he had Robert Downey Jr., to star as Poe in Sly’s film. Even though this film has been in the talks for a long while now, it never happened. Sly kept changing his mind about the project. One time, he wants to do it, and the next thing you know, he puts the project on hold. I think he’s got the script written, not sure.

Maybe if “The Raven”, becomes a huge money maker in the box office this weekend, maybe that will make Sly want to start making the movie then. That’s what I’m hoping.

All of Sly’s fans, been wanting him to do that Edgar Allan Poe movie. I want him to do it myself. I’m not sure why, Sly hasn’t started working on the film yet. Maybe he’s worried that it might hurt his action career and might give him another career slump? I don’t know.

I just want him to get that Edgar Allan Poe movie made. Have him do something serious for once, instead of action movies. Sly said he won’t star in the “Poe” biopic, he’s going to just write it and direct it. I just want Sly to do a special project that could possibly land him in the Oscars again.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to, “The Raven”, tomorrow. I’m a pretty big Edgar Allan Poe fan. Loved his short stories and poems.

Report: Mel Gibson joins, “Machete”, sequel!!!

Mel Gibson maybe in a heated feud against screenwriter, Joe Eszterhas over this Jew stuff, but that’s still not stopping Mel from working on film! Mel has just officially joined the cast of, “Machete Kills”, the sequel to the film, “Machete”, starring Danny Trejo, and directed by, Robert Rodriguez. Mel will be playing a supporting role but his character looks to be under wraps for now.

More on the story, here.

I saw the first, “Machete” movie, and I thought it was awesome! Looking forward to the sequel. Why does Mel keep working on film, even if he keeps getting in trouble in the news?

Well, he’s an actor and film director. That’s what he does. That’s what he is. He keeps working ’cause he likes it. Film and Hollywood is obviously a passion of his.

What’s keeping him working is that all this controversy he’s getting is helping him get a stronger career. Controversy, is good sometimes, ya know? As long as he is big in the news, Hollywood would want to keep working with him ’cause the controversy helps draw more people to the films.

No matter what you think of Mel’s personal problems, he will always be a very talented actor and director. I loved his movies over the years. The last movie he did was, “The Beaver”, last year.

This guy is not going to retire from Hollywood until he’s dead, I’m sure.

Report: Lindsay Lohan confirmed to play Elizabeth Taylor for Lifetime movie…

Lindsay Lohan, is set to play the late legendary actress, Elizabeth Taylor, for a biopic film on the Lifetime channel, titled, “Liz and Dick”. The film will focus on Taylor’s relationship with, Richard Burton.

The Hollywood Reporter, reports.

This movie is probably gonna suck, and it’s not just because Lindsay is in it. It’ll suck because Lifetime makes shit original movies. I tried to watch the Drew Peterson movie with Rob Lowe on “Lifetime”, but gave up on it after a half hour of watching it.

I think Elizabeth Taylor deserves a better biopic than this. “Cleopatra”, is one of my favorite movies of all time by the way, and I would like to get that film on Blu Ray sometime.
