51 years ago today, Marilyn Monroe mysteriously died…

Today, marks the 51st anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s death. Her death remains unsolved even to this day. Yes, people are still trying to investigate of what happened to her but nothing. That’s probably why there was a lot of speculation that she was murdered and somebody covered it up. Of course, the blame of Marilyn Monroe’s death went to the Kennedy family. I too would say that JFK and Bobby Kennedy were responsible. Wouldn’t surprise me if it turns out to be true. It’s amazing how a famous person’s death can get left unanswered for many years. I think Marilyn’s death deserves answers too. Whether it was a suicide or murder… her death needs to get solved. She was an important lady in Hollywood whose life was taken so soon.

I like learning about Marilyn. Her life, her history, and her films. It’s just interesting stuff to me. People still love her too.

Hmmmm, looks like Bruce Campbell as Ash has a cameo in the new “Evil Dead” movie after all!!!

I just finished re-watching the new “Evil Dead” movie on BluRay. The re-boot film, and I just found out that Bruce Campbell actually reprise’s his role in the film even though there was a lot of speculation that he wasn’t in the film at all. Stick through the credits at the end of the movie when it’s rolling and when the credits are done… you’ll see him. He’ll just quickly look at the camera and say his famous catchphrase, “Groovy”. Could this mean that Ash could be the leading character in the sequel? He can still play that role really well even if he said one line. I didn’t stay for the credits when I first saw this movie in theater.

Hopefully, Ash will be in the next one. They shouldn’t ignore Ash completely. I’m a huge Bruce Campbell and Evil Dead fan. I love the previous three Evil Dead films too. Bruce Campbell is the man. I respected that guy for years. He’s the most famous B-movie actor out there. Kudos to him for staying away from the big budget films. He’s a cool guy.

I still love the new “Evil Dead” film too. Looking forward to the next one and really hope they bring Ash back at some point.

James Cameron and Avatar films…

Well, it was expected that James Cameron had planned an “Avatar” trilogy but it’s now turning out that he’s doing three more “Avatar” films. So that’ll be a total of 4 “Avatar” films. I liked the first Avatar film. It was pretty good but I only watched a couple of times, I think. The story was alright but all the CGI and visual effects kind of gave me a headache. Cameron announced that he just hired the writer from the “Sarah Connor Chronicles” TV show to write the script for the sequels.

More on the story, here.

Why is he making three more Avatar films? Maybe he has more of a story to tell, I don’t know.

He is an interesting guy and a great film maker. He’s definitely one of the best but some people wonder is James a nice guy on set when working on film? From what I read from interviews of his cast mates over the years… I’ve heard he’s not such a nice guy at all. I read that he’s pretty demanding when working on film. In other words, he can be a bit of an asshole. If you make a mistake, he’ll probably scream and holler at you. If you mess up one of your lines or didn’t get a scene right, he’ll force you to do it over again until it’s perfect. Losing your temper and being demanding is worth it, though. It’s all about the “art”. If he wasn’t a demanding director then all of his movies in the past wouldn’t have been big. “Titanic” which earned him Best Picture and swept all the awards. All of his other movies such as the first two Terminators, True Lies, The Abyss, etc. They were all big money makers. Cameron maybe a bit of an asshole on set but he have to be that way in order to make his movies good. He’s a pretty serious guy. He’s doesn’t fuck around for sure! He takes his work very seriously!

I’ve noticed that Cameron likes to take a long time in between films. I guess whenever he’s ready to make a new film, when he has a new idea… he’ll get ready when he wants to.

It’ll be nice if he went back to the Terminator. It’ll be awesome if he directed the Terminator re-boot but I don’t see that happening anytime soon since it looks like he’ll spend a few decades of his life making Avatar films. Three more Avatar films is a lot of work. Will be a lot of money too. James is a rich guy. He’s made so much money from his earlier films so he can make any film he wants and when he wants. He is a master at technology and visual effects, that’s for sure. That’s one reason why I respect him so much.

Happy 66th birthday, Arnold!!!

The first photo above is me at Arnold’s star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The bottom photo is me at a Hollywood wax museum. I posted these in honor of Arnold’s birthday today.

I’m tired of people knocking Arnold. Arnold deserves the respect. No matter what you think of him… love him or hate him… he didn’t get where he is today for nothing. He really did all the work to make all of his dreams come true. Bodybuilding champ, iconic movie star, and former governor of California. There is a pretty good reason why he wanted to become a famous person. First of all, he didn’t have much back when he was living in Austria and he wanted to move to the USA so he can live a better life. Secondly, he wanted to make his bodybuilding dreams come true and become the best ever which he did exactly that. Yes, he’s going to get all kinds of steroid accusations and he admitted to using them plenty of times but despite his past steroid use, Arnold was a natural.

Yeah, he made a lot of mistakes in life with his womanizing and all that stuff but that’s life. Arnold admitted to his mistakes that he cheated on Maria and he just wants to move on with his life. If you want a better understanding of Arnold Schwarzenegger, read his book, “Total Recall”. It’s a good book, and it’ll inspire you.

Most importantly, I respected Arnold for his movie career. He made so many great movies over the years like the first two Terminators, the Conan movies, Total Recall, Commando, Last Action Hero, True Lies, End of Days, Raw Deal, The Expendables, etc.

Love him or hate him, the fact is Arnold is king at everything he does. He may have not have been a good politician but you should still give him the respect for getting himself there. Arnold is multi-talented and a genius. He certainly inspired me over the years! He’s my second hero right behind Sly.

I’m tired of all the Arnold hate. In reality, he’s a good guy. I have never met him but I know he’s a good dude ’cause he likes what he does, he has passion for the things he does, and he adores his fans. No matter all the controversy that surrounds Arnold over the years, the fans still stuck with him and people still love the guy. I’ve always loved Arnold. Still do to this day. I looked after him ever since I was a child. I watched his movies and followed his bodybuilding stuff for years.

Happy Birthday, Arnold!

Report: Say what? Sylvester Stallone is set to play Rocky one more time??? Seems like it’s for real!!!!

Sly maybe done with the Rocky series but he never said anything about retiring the character for good! There’s a spinoff movie coming from the Rocky franchise. A film called, “Creed”, which will focus on the life of Apollo Creed’s grandson. MGM studios is setting Ryan Coogler to direct and Michael B. Jordan to play the grandson of Apollo. Sylvester Stallone is set to reprise his role as Rocky Balboa for the 7th time.

The story will be about Appolo’s grandson wanting to become a boxing champion much like his grandfather, Appolo, but he doesn’t have to and his family doesn’t want him to. So he goes for Rocky Balboa who is a retired boxer and becomes a mentor for Apollo’s grandson (Rocky will be his possible trainer too, I bet?).

MGM studios must of gotten Sly’s written permission to make this movie since Sly fully owns the rights to the Rocky franchise. So Sly himself must be all for this film! I’m all for Sly playing Rocky one more time. He deserves another shot since, “Rocky Balboa”, the last Rocky film was kind of a disappointment and a let-down. “Rocky Balboa” was a good movie, don’t get me wrong but could have been a better film.

Sly has been talking about bringing Rambo back to the big screen for one last time!

I’m definitely looking forward to the “Creed” film and looking forward to seeing what they’re gonna do with it! I wonder if they’ll bring back Burt Young to play Paullie again as well?

More thoughts on the “Batman/Superman” team up movie…

While it’s great news that “Batman & Superman” are finally teaming up together for a live-action film… I really think they should get rid of the black rubber suit on Batman. I think the Dark Knight thing is kind of old and it would be great if they give Batman a new style. New suit, new look, new everything. If they did that with Superman, I would think they would do the same with Batman. Since Christopher Nolan would still be the mentor/producer of the “Batman/Superman” film, I would think Chris would let Zack have Batman however he wants the character to be. Over the years, Batman had different styles of suits and in different colors. I think it would be pretty cool if they go back to old-school with Batman… go back to the blue and black. They gave Superman the old-school look for “Man of Steel”, why not do the same with the Batman? Zack’s version of the batsuit will indeed be a little different than Nolan’s take on it. Zack got rid of the red trunks on Superman, think how Zack would change the batsuit? I’m sure Zack would get a lot of people questioning the batsuit just like he got a lot of people wondering about the new Superman suit.

The “Batman & Superman” movie will probably be action packed and intense like “Man of Steel” was. Of course, it’ll probably have impressive visual effects and all that stuff. Who will the leading villain be? Lex? The Joker? Both?

As for the actor to play the new Batman, I’m not really sure yet but like I said before, Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be the most likely choice ’cause of the “Dark Knight: Rises” ending.

It’s great news this is happening finally. I’m sure Hollywood already tried to get a Batman/Superman movie going years ago but failed. It’s gonna be a hard movie to pull off and Zack would be the only guy who can do it right. Batman/Superman had tons of comics together and animated movies. They don’t have a live action movie yet and the wait will be over soon. It will be a box office smash, for sure.

My question is, will Michael Caine still play Aflred? Gary Oldman for Commissioner Gordon? I don’t know if those guys will come back without Christian Bale but we’ll wait and see.

It’s gonna be interesting to see what they’re gonna title it too.

Zack Snyder confirms “Batman & Superman” movie at SDCC…

1025496_596455823732957_865397774_o

Every summer at San Diego Comic Con, there are all sorts of goodies that come out of it and this is one of them. Everyone knew there is gonna be a sequel to, “Man of Steel”, we just didn’t know what Zack Snyder’s plans were. Turns out that he is planning to team Batman and Superman together in one movie. It’s about time too! We always wanted Batman and Superman to have their own movie but the only problem with that is that Christian Bale no longer wants to play Batman. Bale is done with the Caped Crusader so he probably will not be in this or the “Justice League” film. That’s okay ’cause Bale wasn’t that great of a Batman anyways so let him go, ya know? So it’s looking like Batman will have to get replaced by another actor (again).

We won’t see a “Justice League” film for a long while ’cause it’s looking like Zack wants to have all the characters in “Justice League” to get their own film to build up to it. The Flash is getting his own movie too.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they get Joseph Gordon-Levitt to play Batman, though. If you’ve seen the ending to the “Dark Knight: Rises”, you would know exactly what I mean (not trying to spoil things).

Looking forward to seeing what they’re gonna do with the first “Batman/Superman” film. “Batman/Superman” is coming sooner than you think as I think it’s slated for a 2015 release date. Why is it coming this soon? Simply because Zack is a fast worker. He made “Man of Steel” pretty quick. He can get a single film done in less than a year.

In the photo above is the official logo revealed for the “Batman/Superman” movie at SDCC.

Happy Birthday Tom Hanks! His top 10 best films listed here!

Tom Hanks is another actor who I wish a happy birthday every year. Why? Because he’s my favorite and I respected his talent for years. I grew up watching his movies. Been watching his stuff ever since I was kid. While he is very talented, and amazing actor… his career has been going downhill a little, in my opinion. Throughout his entire career he has been choosing the best films but currently he has been choosing some pretty bad films. I never liked “The Da Vinci Code”, “Angels & Demons”, “Larry Crowne”, “The Ladykillers”, “Charlie Wilson’s War”, and I have no desire to see, “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close”. I haven’t seen “Cloud Atlas” yet but I’m planning on renting it from Netflix soon. Tom Hanks started off doing comedy films in his earlier years (he actually got his acting start in the “Bosom Buddies” sitcom) and then when the 90’s came — he started doing serious dramas like, “Philadelphia”, “Forrest Gump”, “Saving Private Ryan”, etc.  He’s also a two time Oscar winner.

Here is a list of my favorite Tom Hanks films in no particular order:

  • Forrest Gump – Probably the best film he’s ever done. I can watch this one over and over and never get tired of it. Classic and a masterpiece!
  • The Green Mile – Who knew that he would star in a Stephen King adaptation? Another masterpiece of a film and the film where Michael Clarke Duncan first got recognized as an actor (RIP to him, btw).
  • Road To Perdition – It’s a mobster movie and Tom has never been into violent & gritty movies that much so it was kind of a surprise that he would do a film like this. This is one of my favorite films, though. I remember seeing this one in theater when it first came out too.
  • Toy Story 3 – Probably his best voice over work and it’s the best Toy Story film of the trilogy.
  • The Terminal – His collaboration with Steven Spielberg! An entertaining as hell movie and also one of his best roles.
  • Apollo 13 – An excellent space movie with an excellent cast! Another film you can watch repeatedly and never get tired of. Gotta love Kevin Bacon and Bill Paxton in this film too!
  • Sleepless In Seattle – I’m not into romantic comedies that much but this is a very good one. Way better than the overrated, “You’ve Got Mail”.
  • Joe Versus The Volcano – Probably one of his best comedies in his earlier career. It’s a freakin’ great film! Love it!
  • BIG – Another comedy classic. You’re not a true Tom Hanks fan if you haven’t even seen this one! Everyone should have seen this film!
  • Splash – A Ron Howard classic about a man who falls in love with a mermaid. Also starring the late great John Candy (RIP) and a young Eugene Levy.

Well, there are my favorite films!

Lets hope Tom will get back to picking great movie roles again ’cause I believe the man has totally lost it. What happened to him?

Kev

Edit to add: Dammit, how can I leave out, “Cast Away”??? That is my favorite film too. Oh well.

Happy 67th birthday Sly!!!

382847_10150358867998131_1074598677_n

I’m a day late on this but yesterday was Sylvester Stallone’s birthday. Here I am posing for a photo with Sly’s star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. YES, I really went to Hollywood, C.A. a few years ago. Went to the Hollywood Blvd., went to see the Griffith Park Observatory, saw the Hollywood sign, and all kinds of fun stuff.

I didn’t get to meet Sly in person but seeing his star on the Walk of Fame is probably the closest I’ll ever get to him.

He really is a hero and inspiration to me.

While the man had his struggles and problems in his life… you can’t deny that he is a legend no matter what you think of him. He brought us the Rocky and Rambo movies — now the Expendables. He’s done other great movies such as “Cliffhanger”, “Cop Land”, “Cobra”, “Get Carter”, “Over the Top”, “Paradise Alley”, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, though, he has done some pretty bad films. I’m not a fan of all of them… I would probably hate half of them too such as garbage like “Driven”, “Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot”, “Rhinestone”, “Daylight”, “The Specialist”, “Judge Dredd”, etc.

I’ll have to admit that the man is horrible at choosing films and the man himself even admits it. I think he’s being more careful choosing his upcoming films as you can tell. He’s been making his choices pretty wisely this time around so he doesn’t get himself into another career slump. It’s great to see Sly being a successful actor again.

I not only respect Sly for his movies… I respect him for his fitness, he’s a businessman (he owns parts of Planet Hollywood chains), an artist/painter, etc. He’s a pretty talented guy in everything he does.

I never got to meet Sly in person yet but I do have an autographed framed photo of Rocky IV that he signed and sent to me in the mail.

Also, I think Sly is heading toward retirement in film. As you can see, he’s slowing down on the acting. Writing scripts for other films and not doing as much films as he used to. His next movie is “Escape Plan” with Arnold.

Happy Birthday Sly, and thanks for the inspiration and entertainment you gave us over the years!
