What does it mean to
be an actual
musician?
This topic has always
been difficult
to define.
In my opinion, I
think an actual
musician is a musician
who knows what he
or she is doing.
Do you have a good
ear?
Are you good enough
with music
theory?
That is my definition
of a real musician.

If you can memorize
the sound of all 12
notes of music in your
head.
Know what key the
song is in without
anyone telling you.
You are able to improvise
on your instrument
with no problem
and no fear…
you are a real
musician.
If you know
more than one scale
and know what
the other musicians
in the band are
playing…
you are
a real musician.

I’m not a real
musician yet
but I feel I’m just
about there.
Still have work
to do but
I’ll always improve.

Becoming a real
musician is my
goal/dream and
I’ll never give up.

“Why Facebook Really Sucks”…

Facebook sucks for
a lot of
reasons.
There were a lot of
people who left facebook
for good and there are
some who avoid
facebook like the plague.

I can understand them
’cause facebook
is horrible.
Why?
For
a
lot
of
reasons!!!
Let me
list them…

People can get
too dramatic
and negative.
People post way
too much info
about their
personal life.
People also post
a lot of baby photos,
photos of their pets
and women post photos
of themselves giving
the duck face.
Too much spam in
the newsfeed,
getting too much
game requests.

Shall I go on???
Stupid memes, and inspirational
quotes that don’t
make any sense.
People going on and on about
sports they watch
on TV.
Misinformed discussions and
debates about politics
and our US government.

Facebook also ruins
lives.
If people don’t like what you
say or if they don’t agree with
you… you become the enemy
of many people you
don’t know. You’ll get
blocked or even deleted.
Sometimes you don’t
get along with your
own friends and family
members.

I came close to
leaving facebook
myself many
times.
I don’t leave ’cause
I can’t or people
will talk me into
coming back.
Here is a big
fuck you to Mr. Zuckerberg.

5 bands & artists in the industry that I like but everyone else hates…

I’m bored today on this Saturday. Trying to come up with something interesting to post today so I came up with this. 5 bands & artists in the music industry that I like but everyone else hates. The problem with people is that everyone seems to have the same tastes in music — siding with popular opinion. I was never like that. If I like an artist, I’ll like an artist — it doesn’t matter if everyone else hates that artist or not. Good music is good music to me… I never cared whether the artist is loved or hated… here is a quick list in no particular order…

  • Metallica – I don’t know why Metallica is still hated today. I never understood all the Metallica hate. Yeah it was because of Napster, their direction change of music, and the sound quality of their albums is why a lot of people hate ’em but they are still a talented band. I’ve stuck with Metallica even through all the St. Anger/Load/Reload/Lulu stuff. Keep the hate going. You’re just making the band a lot bigger than before. Metallica 4 life! \m/
  • Phish – I don’t get all the hate for Phish either. This one confuses the hell out of me. I think I’m starting to figure it out, though. A lot of people can agree they’re talented musicians but they think Trey Anastasio is too arrogant and they jerk off a lot on stage (not in a sexual perverted way but you know what I mean). Love Phish or hate ’em, they’re geniuses. I still think they’re an amazing band. I’ll never turn my back on them like a lot of fans seem to do.
  • Katy Perry – A lot of people like to talk trash at Katy Perry, her music and they like to bash her as a person. I’ve always been a fan of Katy. I’m a fan of all of her music and I like her as a woman as well. She’s not bad as a lot of people make her out to be. I’m not ashamed of liking Katy Perry and I’m looking forward to her new album that she put out called, “Prism”, and yes, I think her new song, “Roar”, is awesome!
  • Lou Reed – Lou Reed has been hated for years that goes way before the “LuLu” stuff. I’ll never forget all the criticism for his “Metal Machine Music” album. Come on. Don’t hate on Lou. The man’s a fucking genius and a legend. You’re trashing the guy who started the Velvet Underground. Have some respect to the legend!
  • Nirvana – They get bashed a lot too. Kurt’s songwriting skills and his singing has always been pretty questionable by a lot of people but I’ve always found this band to be amazing. I love them ever since I was a teenager in high school. Of course, the first album I heard by them was “Nevermind” and I remember as a kid, I couldn’t stop listening to that album. I still love that album today. I love the rest of Nirvana’s music too. I’m looking forward to getting Nirvana’s “In Utero” 20th Anniversary edition. Nirvana were an amazing band. They wrote incredible songs. Loved all of their stuff!

I can come up with a lot more but those five are the big ones.

Why Dolph Lundgren haven’t directed an Expendables movie yet but will he ever in the future? Dolph himself explains…

Two “Expendables” movies have already past and a third one is currently filming. Dolph Lundgren has had a long career of directing films himself but he has mostly directed low budget B-movies. So far, Dolph hasn’t directed an Expendables movie. So many fans have been wondering why Dolph haven’t directed an Expendables movie yet since Dolph has directed violent action movies himself and Dolph, the man himself, finally explains why in this Q&A video directly to a fan. Why Dolph haven’t directed an Expendables movie himself yet? I’m sure Sly and the film crew would welcome him to direct an EXP movie but Dolph says he isn’t ready yet. That’s the reason. He has directed low budget and high budget films before — he’s just not ready to direct a big blockbuster like “The Expendables”. Still though, he says, “we’ll see”, so that’s a definite maybe. So keep our fingers crossed for now on whether or not Dolph will be ready to direct EXP 4 or 5.

I totally agree that Dolph should direct an “Expendables” movie. I have seen some of Dolph’s directed action movies like “Command Performance”. He’s very good with violent action scenes… that’s why he would be good to direct an Expendables movie. Maybe not now but Dolph said maybe sometime in the future.

Dolph seems like a real nice man in real life.

My prediction for the “Breaking Bad” series finale this Sunday ***Major Spoilers***

This Sunday is the final episode of “Breaking Bad” for the show’s final season on AMC. I would have to say that this show is one of the best show’s on TV ever. I do watch a few other TV shows like “Game of Thrones” and “Dexter” but those two shows have a lot of problems with the writing; at least, “Breaking Bad” stays perfect with the writing every episode and every season. “Breaking Bad” has the best writing of any show I’ve ever seen. Since the end is nearing us this Sunday, everyone on the internet are already making their predictions. Making a lot of speculation on what’s going to happen with Walt and Jesse.

So far, the most popular prediction is that Walter is going to kill Jesse with what?

Remember, the ricin capsule that Walter White hid in his bedroom in Season 2 or maybe 3, I forget which? Walter is saving the ricin capsule for something or someone. What is Walter planning to do with the ricin? Is he planning to kill Jesse Pinkman with it? Skyler? His whole family? Does Walter plan on getting revenge on the men who killed Hank and tried to steal his money? No. I don’t think Walter is planning to kill any of those people. Who do I think Walter is planning to kill? Scroll down a bit if you dare. It’s the most unpopular prediction that hasn’t been decided by a lot of people…. it’s something you’re not gonna wanna read….

Who do I think Walt is planning on using the ricin capsule for?

Himself….

Yes, I said it.

It maybe tough to see Walt commit suicide but it’s a perfect closing for the series. All the clues are there from last week’s episode, “Granite State”.

Walt doesn’t get along with his family anymore. He continues to feud with Jesse Pinkman. Everything around him is falling apart so Walt lives at an abandoned home surrounded by a gate. Over the years in the show, he thought making meth to help raise money for his cancer treatment that good things would come out of it but he thought wrong. “Breaking Bad” is about all the bad things and karma that comes out when it comes to drugs.

Not a lot of people want to see Walt get killed off but it’s the only possible way to end the show. Walt probably didn’t want his family to see him die of cancer or live his life in prison so he figure killing himself would be the best idea since he has nothing else in his life.

Maybe I could be wrong. Who knows? Breaking Bad is always unpredictable so you may never know what happens but I’m sticking with my idea.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how Breaking Bad is gonna end this Sunday night. Hopefully, it will end good.

“Yes, I Love To Dance”

Yes, I love to dance
and I enjoy it.
You’ll have to see
it to believe it.
However, I want
to get better at
dancing.
I want to learn how
to dance like a
king for the ladies.

I just started
learning some
dance moves
from youtube
howto’s so that’s
a start.
I want to attract
the ladies
out on the
dance floor.

The secret to
attracting the women
on the
dance floor is
look like you’re
having a great time,
smile, and the women
will want to dance with
you on their own.

If they see that
you’re having a good
time, they’ll be
all over you.
I want to learn
how to dance
better myself
so women
can be all over
me even more.

I don’t know any
dance instructors
around here so
I’ll teach myself.
I’m finding that
dancing is one of
my favorite things to
do and it’s a new
hobby I want to
pick up. It’s also
a great workout.

The reason some folks
are surprised of my
dancing is ’cause
most people see me
as a shy and bored
loser. Don’t judge!!!
I can actually be very confident
and be an enjoyable
person.

I used to never
be into the nightclub
scene but I think I want
to go so I can
get my dance on a lot
more.
Really, I want to
learn how to dance
like a pro.

A lot of people can’t
see it but I do like
dance music, hip hop,
disco, techno, house, etc.

A lot of men are shy
about dancing.
I’m
not.
Dancing is not only
fun, it just helps
get your mind off
of things.

Senator Ted Cruz is making US history on the Senate floor!!!

This is pretty incredible stuff. Senator Ted Cruz started his speech on “Obamacare Defunding” on the Senate Floor yesterday and he made it pretty clear that he’s going to keep talking until he is no longer able to stand. He really meant it too. His speech went on through out the night and still going. No breaks at all. No sitting down. No bathroom breaks. No food or drink breaks. Just talking all night long. I see Ted still going on all day today and night. He could go on for a few days or more nonstop. As I explained before around the Rand Paul filibuster, it is allowed on the Senate floor. A Senator can talk for as long as he/she pleases. Rand Paul did his filibuster for 13 hours straight… Ted just broke his record. I didn’t listen to all of Ted’s speech since it would be way too long but I listened to a little bit yesterday and what he’s doing is pretty amazing stuff. I’m feeling that Ted is not going to stop until a decision is made that Obamacare has been defunded. Ted could go on until he falls to the floor. He could continue his speech for a full month or a full year if he wanted to.

I had a feeling that there is going to be a filibuster once the Obamacare case went to the Senate so this is no surprise. Ted is an awesome guy and he is my new hero in government. Get ’em Ted!

More on songwriting…

I think what I’m trying to say with my posts on “songwriting” is that I’m just trying to get local musicians to take guitar playing a little more seriously. I’m noticing that a lot of musicians around here don’t really take guitar playing seriously. Not enough passion and enjoyment in it. They just simply use the guitar as a vehicle for songwriting, that’s pretty much it, really. With my own music, I like to take my guitar playing seriously as you can probably tell. It is part of why my guitar playing is better than my vocals and why I always play pretty tight with my songs. With my guitar playing, I try to do more than just playing power chords and basic open position chords. I don’t just use the guitar as a vehicle for songwriting either, I like to play the “guitar”. I want my songs to be guitar playing songs. Songs with just good guitar playing. A lot of songwriters around here don’t really focus on the guitar… they focus on the “songwriting” part. Don’t get me wrong, the “songwriting” part is pretty important but you must take the guitar playing part more seriously too.

There are so many songwriters out there that don’t really know what they’re doing, they just throw random chords and riffs out there — try to put them together into a song. Just keep playing until they find stuff they like. Don’t just throw random stuff together. Learn how to play the guitar and play it good — you would be surprised of how much better your songs could be. If you want to call yourself a “musician”, then you gotta fucking become one, ya know? Learn how to play the damn instrument. Take passion and pride in it. Put your fucking heart and soul into it. Play the guitar like you mean it. Don’t just take a guitar pick and just start strumming. Take everything you play seriously. The rhythm parts, the riffs, and guitar solos. Everything.

If you feel that you aren’t as good of a guitar player you say you are, don’t be afraid to admit it and learn to improve. Don’t get too far ahead of yourself. Take your slow time. I’m not the best guitar player but I’m always trying to improve as you can tell. You can also tell that I try to make the guitar playing as good as possible in my original music.

I’m not trying to tell people how to create art… I’m only trying to tell them to make it better. A lot of musicians around here are not that confident with their guitar playing and they really must be. If you take guitar playing more seriously, it will make a difference in your songwriting. I know from my own experience. Taking time off from songwriting to learn better guitar was worth it for me. I still have a lot of learning to do but I’m getting there.

My next goal is to get really good with lead guitar and I’m still trying to improve that too. I want to become good at guitar solos so I can solo over my original songs. I never believed in choosing which one you want to be good at either rhythm or lead. A lot of guitarists make the mistake that you must be good at one of them when the reality is you should really be good at both… rhythm and lead.

I like music with great guitar playing. That’s what I enjoy listening to the most. I know good guitar playing when I hear it. I give the most respect to bands & artists who do take the guitar seriously. A lot of musicians don’t really see it and they’re pretty lazy with guitar playing but the guitar is a pretty important tool.

I’m still not a professionally skilled guitarist yet and no virtuoso but that is my dream. I’m trying to get there the best I can. I’m doing my best to become an actual, “musician”.

4th day of Westgate Mall being under attack in Nairobi…

This is getting pretty scary. What’s happening over at Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya… wow. It’s turning out that the attackers are a terrorist group named Al-Shabaab and most of the attackers are turning out to be Americans. My question is, why would Americans attack a Kenyan shopping mall? Somehow I get this feeling that it’s a clear message to President Obama and the White House. If the US Government doesn’t shape up, more and more of these attacks will happen in the US and around the world. The Navy Shipyard in D.C. was just attacked and now the Nairobi mall in Kenya. If Obama isn’t careful, his nationality and birthplace could be exposed out of what’s going on in Westgate Mall.

I read somewhere on the internet that Obama himself responded to the Nairobi mall attacks but it wasn’t much of a response. All he said was that the attacks was an outrage and he offered law enforcement support to the Kenyan president. I still believe Obama won’t send any help of any kind in Kenya even though he promised to. Notice Obama said, “law enforcement help”, and not “Military help”. He played world police with Syria on the gas attacks of innocent people but never made any mention of sending military help to Kenya.

After the Navy Shipyard attacks, Obama once again made an announcement that he was going to make gun control laws more tougher. When will he ever learn that making tougher gun laws won’t help stop the attacks? No matter how tough the gun laws get, violent people will always find their way around getting guns. Here’s something that would help stop violence in the U.S. and around the world. If Obama will stop aiding terrorists weapons and money… maybe these things will happen less and less?

I’m not blaming these attacks on Obama but they were partly his fault. If he would stop being such a dictator and tyrant, then maybe these things won’t happen at all.

but nice and supportive
to certain people
but they just wannabe
condescending assholes!!!
Acting like they’re
bigger
better
smarter than me.

I hate people
who pretend to be nice
and supportive of you
but when you talk to them,
they selfishly seem to enjoy
putting you down.

When people are condescending
assholes…
Get them
out
of
your life
completely.
You deserve to be treated better
than that.
