Last night’s Survivor Series 2017 was mostly good except for that awful main event…

I watched WWE “Survivor Series 2017” ppv on the WWE Network last night. The ppv was pretty good. Most of it was real good except for that awful main event: Team RAW vs. Team Smackdown Men’s Elimination Match. The reason why that main event match was so bad is that the newer guys like the former NXT stars in the match didn’t get to do much. It was Triple H hogging the spotlight in that match which is what I didn’t like about it. Triple H made the younger talent in that match look weak: Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode were all former NXT guys who deserved to shine on “Survivor Series” but instead WWE made them look like pussies last night. For a long while now, the WWE has been making those guys I named top stars in WWE and they all got buried by Triple H last night. Sick. Yeah, Triple H is an icon in wrestling but admittedly, he’s one of the biggest egomaniacs in wrestling. There was something about Triple H’s ego last night that I didn’t like. The only positive I can give about the match is that the match tried to push Braun Strowman and the match helped get him over.

I remember in the early 2000’s years in WWE, Triple was known to burying talent and holding them down… well look like he’s back into that which is sad. Those NXT guys that I listed above, Triple H was the one who helped them get to where they are now and Triple H wants to destroy them? Triple H is a semi-retired wrestler and only wrestles part-time now and it seems that he only inserts himself into big ppv matches. Another clue that he has a big ego problem. I like Triple H but if he keeps this up, he’s gonna lose my support again. That match was the worst “Survivor Series” main event.

On with the other matches on the card… the best matches of last night were The Shield vs. The New Day which opened the ppv and that match was pretty exciting. I love both The Shield and The New Day… glad they are finally feuding with each  other.

The Team RAW and Team SD Women’s Elimination match was also really good. WWE did it right that they gave Asuka the spotlight. She was freakin’ awesome last night. I’m such a huge fan of her. Love her so much. I continue to watch older NXT and WWE because of her pretty much. She’s such a cool wrestler. So far so good, WWE is using her right.

Brock Lesnar vs. Aj Styles was also surprisingly pretty good and I was skeptical of that match. Both men did a great job and didn’t think they would pull off a fun match like that.

Other than that, last night’s Survivor Series was pretty good… could have been better.

How I’m doing in yoga so far…

Yeah, I’m still pretty committed to yoga. Been at yoga nonstop every week for several months now. Each time I do yoga, I feel a little more flexibility each time I do it. I’ve also improved a lot on the balancing. When I first started yoga and just a newbie, I was shit at it but I’m getting a lot better. Yoga is like everything else when you practice you improve.

I’ve just started learning arm balancing which is a pose called the Crow pose. I’ve struggled at the Crow pose at first but seem to be getting a little better at that. Ya know, arm balancing, just using your arms to balance on the floor and not using your legs at all. It’s hard to do but I’m getting better at that ’cause I practice a lot of these poses at home.

I’m so glad that I got into yoga finally ’cause I’ve been interested in it for a while. Yoga really does make you feel good and makes you feel like a whole new person. It’s amazing. Now I figured out why yoga is getting popular.

I not only got into yoga to get more flexibility and strength, I got into it ’cause it’s a good stress reliever. That’s what yoga is here for pretty much. Yoga is mainly meditation is what it is. I’ve also been wanting to get into meditation.

Meditation is really good ’cause it helps get your mind off of everything. Yoga and meditation makes you feel better, happier and more confident. Helps you become more upbeat and positive.

Once I feel I’m getting real good at yoga, I’ll video tape myself doing some poses for you all. I love yoga. It’s a new passion of mine that I just discovered.

How to spot evil and toxic people… interesting article worth reading for those who are tired of drama in your life…

I see people every day complaining about evil and toxic people in their lives. You see people in facebook complaining about how they don’t like getting drama and negativity in their lives. Well, I hear you all ’cause I’m pretty much in the same boat. I too have dealt with evil and toxic people who always seems to be in a desperate attempt to ruin my life.

This article came up in my FB newsfeed earlier today and it’s interesting. Yep, when dealing with toxic people this article explains the 12 signs on how to spot them.

http://soultype.org/12-signs-that-you-are-dealing-with-an-evil-person/

Yes, there are people who refuses to accept the truth. Ya know, people who are always denying reality. I know the feeling ’cause I’ve dealt with people like that too. You try your best to tell the truth and people just can’t accept it. Then they start arguing all of a sudden.

Yes, there are plenty of pathological liars out there and I’ve dealt with plenty of those too. People will do anything to make themselves look good even if it means lying.

There are also plenty of those who shows no remorse after they have treated you badly. You get no “apology” from them and they don’t make amends with you, no nothing. Crazy, I know! After people treat you horribly, they just go about their lives enjoying themselves acting like their feud with you never happened.

I also like No. 11 on that list “living double lives” ’cause there are many out there that do that. There are so many fake people out there, it’s crazy. Some people pretend they have good things going on in their lives when in reality, they don’t have fuckin’ shit.

It also seems that the only reason you get a lot of haters and drama queens in your life is when you have good things going on. I also agree with that article that they seem to back off on ya when things aren’t going good for ya.

It’s really nuts how people out there wants to see you fail at life instead of being proud of you being happy and doing what you want to do in life to become successful. Instead, they act all jealous and bitter. What’s going on with people and society nowadays? So much drama and negativity!

Ya know… when you want to live a successful lifestyle expect a lot of haters. You want to have a good job/career, a good family and all that stuff… you’ll get a lot of jealous haters and control freaks coming after you.

I agree with what the article said at the end of it… you gotta learn to be aware of who you surround yourself with. Don’t be afraid to get toxic people out of your life ’cause I’ve been doing just that lately and it feels real good, trust me. Like the article said, you gotta learn to love yourself in order to get away from evil/toxic people. You can enjoy life much easier when you eliminate evil/toxic people. Yeah, a lot of people out there suck and people are getting wacked nowadays. Just be yourself and fuck the rest.

RIP: Malcolm Young 1953 – 2017

Malcolm-Young.jpg

Like most, I was pretty bummed to hear the news of the passing of Malcolm Young. He was the longtime rhythm guitarist and founder of the hard rock band, AC/DC. Angus and Malcolm formed the band AC/DC together in 1973.

If you play the guitar whether electric or acoustic then chances are, you’ve probably played AC/DC songs on it. Well, that was all the work of Malcolm Young. Yes, it was MOSTLY Malcolm that wrote AC/DC’s catalogue of music. Malcolm wrote AC/DC songs with his brother Angus, but it was Malcolm who did most of the work. Pretty much, Malcolm was the primary songwriter of the band. All those songs: “It’s A Long Way to the Top If You Want to Rock N’ Roll”, “Highway to Hell”, “You Shook Me All Night Long”, “Hells Bells”, “Back In Black” etc. It was Malcolm that wrote all those tunes. Sure, Angus helped a little bit, but I remember him saying in an interview that all Angus mostly done was play solos and extra licks for the songs. Everybody wants to mistakenly believe it was Angus who did all the work, but it was all Malcolm. It was Malcolm who brought Ac/Dc a lot of success for the band. Like most bands, Ac/Dc started off as a local band in Australia before becoming a big institution like they are now.

I love Ac/Dc. Always did and always will. Ac/Dc was one of the bands that made me want to become a musician. They helped inspire me to pick an up an electric guitar. I love both Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras. I dig all of their music. I admired Ac/Dc so much ’cause they never changed their style of music over the years. They’ve had the same style since the 70’s.

What I love about Ac/Dc is that all of their songs are very simple. Malcolm’s riffs were mostly simple chords. Yeah, all Ac/Dc mostly played guitar wise was mostly power chords and basic open chords but still they wrote killer songs! Ac/Dc proved that you don’t need to be a perfectionist when writing rock n’ roll.

Ac/Dc had fans of people of all ages from little children to full grown adults. I wonder what’s going to happen now that Malcolm is gone? Will they continue or will they break-up? I’m sure we’ll hear from Brian Johnson to see what he says. Angus and Malcolm never did interviews with the press that much. It was always Brian doing interviews for the band so I’m sure we’ll hear from him again soon.

I think it’s a possibility we’ll get one more studio album by Ac/Dc ’cause they’re probably gonna wanna make an album dedicated to Malcolm.

Are the Sly Stallone sexual misconduct allegations true? Should I drop all support of him? Not sure yet…

Uh oh. Looks like Sly is next on the long list of celebrities being accused of sexual misconduct. Keep in mind, this isn’t the first time Sly got accused of sexual misconduct… it happened with his half-sister too.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5081605/Sylvester-Stallone-accused-forcing-teen-threesome.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailceleb#ixzz4ycTJyYcv

I’m hoping none of this is true, though. I’m gonna wait a bit to see what’s gonna happen. Of course, Sly was quick to deny this. Will Sly get more accusers coming forward? I hope not.

If all this continues to happen for Sly then I’m gonna have to drop all support. Ya know, get rid of all of his movies I have in my collection and even get rid of his autographed photo I have of his. Not sure I’m gonna do this or not.

Keep in mind that not all sexual misconduct allegations are gonna be true. Some of them are and some of them are not so you can’t believe all of them. Sometimes accusers just like to get more attention for themselves by making their target look bad, ya know? They just do it for money and that’s it.

All sexual misconduct allegations should be taken seriously, though that includes people on the GOP side… it’s why I condemn Roy Moore ’cause I’m not on one side.

I do smell bullshit on the Sly allegations, though. Sounds like someone trying to get money off of him. We’ll wait and see.

Is it a bit arrogant for a band and solo artist to say that their own music is good? I would say so…

There’s nothing wrong with liking your own music. There’s nothing wrong with being proud of the music you make. Is it a good idea to publicly express that you think your music is really good? I see this all the time with bands and artists in the local music community. Musicians thinking they’re playing is so good and saying that the music they make is good. It’s cool to think that your music is good, but it’s a pretty good idea to keep that thought to yourself.

When it comes to my own music, I’ve always tried my best to stay humble about it. It’s always the best idea to let your listeners decide whether your music is good or not, you don’t decide that for yourself. Ya know, just let the music speak on it’s own is what I’m trying to get at here. It’s really simple to understand.

Too many bands nowadays always going off about how good their music is. Well, if you’re one of the ones who are like that then chances are, your music probably isn’t all that good. It used to be looked at as a bad thing to think your own music is good, but somehow thinking your own music is good and liking it has become more accepted.

To be honest, I don’t think my own music is all that great. I just do what I do. Just play music and rock out. I just write songs that come out of me and many of them just happen. If other people like my songs then that’s great! If other people don’t like my songs then that’s fine too. I also think compliments about my music is a little uncomfortable, honestly and there are too many bands that love getting compliments toward their music. I just want to play and write songs.

There are too many bands out there that write music for themselves and many of them listen to their own music. Not me. I don’t listen to my own music for my own enjoyment. The only time I’ll listen to my own songs is when I forget lyrics or if I forget guitar parts, and I’ll go back to try to figure them out. That’s about it. I just write and record my songs and never go back to them. I never felt comfortable hearing my own singing voice.

I’m tired of hearing bands saying stuff like, “Our album is really good and our fans are gonna dig it”. I’ve heard bands say much worse things than that. Bands are so egotistical and arrogant about their music nowadays, it’s crazy.

No need to take yourself so serious. All I do is just write music, put them out there and see what happens.

Speaking of writing original music, I gotta get back into songwriting again soon and I will. I’ve been messing with some guitar riffs here and there. I’m itching to get new material out.

The media needs to leave Taylor Swift alone about her political views… she’s doing a smart thing keeping politics to herself!

One of the things that I like a lot about Taylor Swift is that she keeps politics out of everything. In her career, she never wrote songs about politics unlike most artists. She doesn’t talk about politics in interviews at all, and she doesn’t talk about politics at her live shows as well. She’s been “apolitical” for many years. There are too many music artists that bring left-wing politics into music… artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against the Machine, Neil Young, Roger Waters, Madonna, Katy Perry, and many more to name. I give Taylor a lot of props for keeping quiet about politics. Just shut her mouth and play music which is what other artists should be doing.

What marie claire did here was pretty appalling. Why does the media wants all celebrities to speak out on politics? Not all of them have to. It is their decision whether or not they want to talk about politics in their music careers. All those left-wing artists that are loudmouths about liberal politics, they have chosen to do that. They have chosen to destroy their careers and alienate their fanbase. That’s not what Taylor wants to do.

http://www.marieclaire.com/celebrity/music/a13527003/taylor-swift-reputation-should-have-addressed/?src=socialflowFB

Is Taylor a die-hard liberal? Possibly. You just never know what her political views are. Media thinks she’s a liberal and thinks she voted Hillary, but they want her to speak out about it. Taylor could even be a conservative and she may have had voted for Trump as well, ya never know. Think about why she’s keeping quiet about her political views ’cause she maybe a very conservative woman, ya know? She’s afraid it will destroy her career if she went political.

I respect Taylor even more for never going political which is why I feel the need to support her music. Yes, I’m a Taylor Swift fan. She’s a good artist. Her music is actually good. I dig her country/pop stuff and I dig her pop stuff too. I like the 1989 album a lot and looking forward to buying Reputation. Taylor Swift is one of the very few good artists left nowadays in today’s major label industry.

I wish the media would back off on her and leave her the fuck alone. There are very few artists that refuses to get political nowadays like Taylor Swift, Billy Joel and Reba McEntire to name a few.

That’s what we want music artists to do. Just shut up, sing, play your guitar and do what you’re supposed to do… entertain people.

The same goes for Albany local bands and musicians… they can be a bunch of left-wing SJW loudmouths too and I’m sick of it.

Is Roy Moore innocent or guilty? I don’t know but I’m gonna wait…

Some of you are probably wondering my thoughts on this whole Roy Moore thing. The story that the Washington Post that broke out in the news last week:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/woman-says-roy-moore-initiated-sexual-encounter-when-she-was-14-he-was-32/2017/11/09/1f495878-c293-11e7-afe9-4f60b5a6c4a0_story.html?utm_term=.aa4cbe3e443c

Conservatives on Facebook and twitter have been defending Roy Moore and siding with him like crazy. It’s interesting how conservatives responds to stories about “sexual predators” in the news. When it comes to liberal Hollywood being caught as sexual predators, conservatives are quick to condemn them; however, conservatives refuses to condemn GOP people on their own team. It’s not the first time conservatives sided with right-wing people who gets accused of being a sexual predator. For some reason, they just won’t admit that there are sexual predators and sick perverts on both sides of the spectrum.

For right now, I can’t support Roy Moore until I see how this story is going to pan out. What if the WaPo and Leigh Corfman turns out correct? What if Moore ends up turning out guilty? Will these conservatives condemn him then? You just never know.

There are sexual predators, pedos and sickos all over. It doesn’t just exist in liberal land. That’s what these conservatives want to believe and they won’t admit it. Conservatives really are that one sided. I’ve always been accused of being on one-side but I’ve never was. Conservatives do drive me crazy a lot sometimes and I’m not afraid to call out their bullshit too.

Musicians can’t take criticism of any kind ’cause they always expect “approval” to be handed at them…

Why is it that some musicians almost always throw a tantrum at you when you criticize them about something? You always try to give musicians helpful advice or give a different opinion of them about something, but they always see it as you getting onto them. They always take things pretty personally even if what you say is good and there’s nothing wrong with it. Still though, many musicians tend to lose their tempers when you criticize them about something. Even if when the criticism is not that bad and something very small, they still get all pissed off.

I talk all this from experience too. I’ve had many musicians over the years lose their tempers and get all angry when I criticize them about something. Many of them don’t like to get criticized at all. It’s funny how musicians act toward feedback whether it’s positive or negative. When they get positive feedback by people, they always jerk themselves off most of the time and when they get negative feedback, they don’t like it.

Why? It’s simply because the only answer is that a lot of musicians out there expect “approval” to be handed at them. They always expect approval to fall in their lap. They expect everybody to like them, but they get pissed when someone else has a different thought about them. In other words, musicians obsess with validation more than anyone is what I’m trying to get at here. If you think approval is handed to you then stop right there… that’s not how it works you all. You have to earn the approval, you can’t just beg people for it.

I would like to get people to like me and stop criticizing me, but I can’t do anything about it and just let people think what they want about me as a musician. I know I can’t get everyone’s approval and can’t get everyone to like me. I know it doesn’t work that way. Quite frankly, I don’t care if I don’t get people’s approval or get people’s respect ’cause all I want to do is just make music and play.

If all these musicians do is get mad at people’s criticism and honesty then it’s a clear sign that they do have a huge ego problem. All they want to do is hear positive feedback just so they can show off that they are loved by people.

I try to stay humble as best as possible but musicians just don’t do that anymore. I like to let the music speak on it’s own and that’s how it should be done. When you want to be a part of the musicians community, one thing to keep in mind that people are really weird around here. The thing is most musicians around here only care about themselves and that’s the freakin’ truth, ya know? They don’t really care about you even though it may seem like it. A lot of ’em live in a rock star fantasy world. They would only care about you if you give them nothing but positive feedback to them. They will hate you if they see that you’re different. I guess that’s how it goes around here. To me, I don’t give a shit either way. I’ve always embraced the fact that I’m either loved or hated. Doesn’t matter to me.

If a musician can’t accept any kind of negativity or hate then there’s a problem. What are you doing being a musician if you can’t take criticism? It really bothers me when I see musicians who gets all defensive at all negative criticism and trust me, there are plenty of musicians like that out there. I don’t mind getting haters ’cause it’s actually good publicity sometimes and even if I get a negative review toward my songs, I would still be flattered.

Like I said musicians obsess with validation more than anyone and that’s what this topic is about pretty much. Enjoy!

Kev

Many local bands & musicians obsess with wanting fame. They all want to get signed and make it in the industry although they will never admit it…

One of the biggest problems in the local music scene of the Capital Region is that there are too many bands & artists around here that obsess with fame. Many of them want it pretty badly… most around here are pretty desperate to make it in the major label industry. I just don’t know why. Yeah, it is possible that bands & artists can actually make it, but it rarely happens. Yeah, some bands and musicians around here had some pretty close brushes with fame like opening for some national acts and appearing on national TV like Fallon/Kimmel but that’s about all.

My question is, why would bands & musicians around here wanna get signed in the major label in this day & age? Not for me. I wouldn’t want to get controlled by the record labels. When you get signed, that’s what’s gonna happen. Record execs are gonna control you and your music. You won’t be able to make music how you want to make it anymore and record execs will tell you what songs you can and can’t release on an album. That’s the way it is these days. That’s why many famous bands & artists dropped off of major labels to release records under their own labels so they can have their own control.

Sure, some local bands and solo artists may have had close brushes with fame like opening for national acts and performing on national TV, but that still doesn’t mean you have made it. You’re still a local musician, but they still live under the delusion that they’ve “made it”. I can tell that most musicians around here obsess with fame and they all want it pretty badly. You can tell by the way they promote themselves on social media. Promoting themselves as if they’re famous when they’re not. Promoting themselves as if they’re so important.

When bands get the opportunity to open for a national act, they get all excited like it’s the best thing that ever happened. They all celebrate as if they just “made it” and I’m like, “really”? This happens all the time with local musicians. I see it a lot in social networking. If I ever get the opportunity to open for a national act, I won’t celebrate it as if I’ve made it. I’ll just see it as another gig for me.

I don’t want to be a rock star. That’s not what I do this for. I play music ’cause it’s what I love to do. I play music ’cause I want to write songs and share them. I hope people enjoy my music like everyone else and if they don’t like my music, that’s fine too. Fame is nothing to me. I don’t care about it.

Truth is, you’re not gonna get fame being stuck in the Capital Region. Only very few artists around here actually have made it but it rarely happens. Too many bands around here living in rock star fantasy land nowadays. It’s crazy.
