Thought: Why Snooki is booked for “Wrestlemania” this year…

WWE is in a huge backlash just recently because they booked “Jersey Shore’s” Snooki, Nicole Polizzi, for a match at this year’s “Wrestlemania”. She’ll be in a triple threat tag team match with John Morrison and Trish Stratus vs. Lay-Cool tag team and Dolph Ziggler.

“Jersey Shore” is not everyone’s favorite show and neither am I, but in Snooki’s defense, I can understand why WWE would want her.

If you are a fan of Jersey Shore, you would know that Snooki is good at being a drama queen, she can be real bitchy and tough. WWE loves stuff like that. Plus, Snooki is a fighter. You may not believe it, but it’s true. If you watched the show Jersey Shore, Snooki has gotten into fights with other women, many times. She had many brutal catfights with Angelina and other women of Jersey Shore. She even punched, “The Situation” in the face once on the show.

The reason Snooki was booked for the match, is that, WWE wanted a woman that could be able to take out Lay-Cool. Lay-Cool which has Layla and Michelle McCool who have been dominate over the women at the Smackdown roster. WWE figures that Snooki would be a good woman to take out Lay-Cool easily, knowing how brutal Snooki fights on “Jersey Shore”. They needed a woman who is capable enough of taking out another woman in catfights and Snooki can.

It is no secret that celebrities have always been huge in “Wrestlemania” over the years. Lets look at the list of some celebrities that’s been a part of “Wrestlemania”: Donald Trump, Mickey Rourke, Pete Rose, Lawrence Taylor, Bart Gunn, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mike Tyson, Mr. T., William Shatner, Pam Anderson, Carmen Electra, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, etc. All those celebrities I listed performed at “Wrestlemania” over the years.

This year is Snooki’s year. Snooki have been on a promotional tour for her book and to help promote, “Jersey Shore”. She’s been all over the place, on late night TV interviews, radio, etc. This is also a good opportunity to promote, “Jersey Shore”.

I have no problem with Snooki being a part of “Wrestlemania”, ’cause she deserves it, honestly. The “Jersey Shore” show is kind of like WWE and she looks like a WWE Diva, so why not? I think that match with her might be pretty entertaining.

So please try to respect WWE’s reason for having Snooki. I think it’s actually a good idea to have her on.

Thought: So the “sci-fi” genre officially made a huge comeback to the movies…

Science Fiction was very popular in the 70’s and throughout the 80’s, but the popularity of the science fiction genre died out in the 90’s. It seems that the popularity of sci fi has risen again this year.

The “Star Trek” reboot, “District 9”, “Avatar”, and next here comes, “Battle Los Angeles”. We have “Cowboys & Aliens” coming soon as well. So there’s your evidence that sci fi have came back in a huge way.

I’m a huge science fiction fan and this genre deserves to get known again. I haven’t seen “Battle Los Angeles” yet but will see it later this week. Now that sci fi is getting huge, maybe this will get people to start watching the classic sci fi movies like: “Metropolis”, “Blade Runner”, “Enemy Mine”, “The Black Hole”, “Dune”, “Explorers”, “The Last Starfighter”, etc. I’m pretty sure some people of today don’t even know about those movies.

Report: Alec Baldwin finally explains why he did no more Jack Ryan movies after, “The Hunt For the Red October”…

“30 Rock” star, Alec Baldwin took to his blog over at the, Huffington Post, to rant about why he did no more Jack Ryan movies after Tom Clancy’s submarine thriller, “The Hunt For the Red October”. He was going to do more but things got really heated. Reports claimed that scheduling conflicts is what caused this, but Alec explains the real reason he left the series. Basically, it all has something to do with the film director’s John McTierman negotiating with another famous actor who’s about to star in the sequel.

While Alec didn’t name who this “famous actor” is, I assume it’s Harrison Ford who took over the role for “Patriot Games”.

That article was quite the interesting read. I would have liked to see Alec continue the Jack Ryan character. “Hunt for the Red October” is a great film.

Not a Cool Video: This is what Albany, N.Y. is like, folks…

They don’t call it, Smallbany, for nothing!

This is the yearly Kegs and Eggs party that students from SUNY Albany college have every year. They just party out in the streets, doing some wild stuff, but this year the Keg and Eggs have gotten much worse. It got way out of hand, that they were wrecking things in the streets and even destroying cars, and other vehicles.

Things like this is why Albany is not a good city to live and it’s why I stay away from there. I couldn’t picture myself living on this street while this was going on.

Cool Video: Scooby posts a new video that I actually agree with…

Here is Scooby again, speaking on the risks of “Over training” and talks “resting”. I agree with him. This is actually a good video he did. Brings up valid points this time around.

In the past, remember, how I was having trouble with my chest pecs? I had trouble trying to get gains and I figured out the problem. I was doing pushups everyday and also training the chest at the gym once a week, which was way over training the chest muscles.

I solved the problem a long while back, by vowing to train the chest hard once a week strictly and this goal seems to be working better. My chest have been getting better and shaping up some.

That’s all your body needs, train each body part for one day a week.

I train in the gym for just an hour. I just go in the weight room just to do several quick things, do a little cardio after, which will take me an hour to do.

I see too many people spending hours in the gym which that is over training, in my opinion. All you need is an hour in the gym. If you don’t over train, you’ll reach your goals and you’ll get some great gains. Scoob is being decent for a change.

Cool Video: Zuffa/UFC officially buys Strikeforce…

Dana White announces the huge shocking news that his company, Zuffa, has officially purchased, “Strikeforce“. The fighting company that is shown only on the, Showtime, channel.

As soon as I heard that Dana has bought, Strikeforce, I thought to myself, “Is he going to get rid of the women’s division of Strikeforce?” Toward the end of this interview in this video, Dana was even asked if he’ll keep the women’s division for, Strikeforce. He said he will keep women’s fighting in “Strikeforce”, but he vows to keep women fighting out of UFC. Everyone knows he’s not a fan of women fighting, so he’s a good man for not getting rid of women’s fighting for Strikeforce. I never watched, Strikeforce, before since I don’t have Showtime. I’ve had seen some Strikeforce fights in youtube though.

Seems like Zuffa and Dana White wants to expand their empire. What are they after next? I have a feeling that Zuffa will buy, Bellator, soon. Wouldn’t surprise me and shouldn’t surprise you either.

Memento Blu Ray giveaway contest coming this week…

I once talked about in a blog post that I will host my very first contest giveaway for this blog. Something I’ve never done before, and I hope to do more giveaways like this, when other companies ask me to help promote something here.

I will be giving away only 1 copy, of the “Memento” Blu Ray, and a poster came along with it too. It’s the “Memento – 10th Anniversary Edition”.

The contest will be a trivia game. Yes, the trivia question will have something to do with the movie and I’ll try to make the question easy. It’s a bad idea to make the question too difficult ’cause people won’t participate in the contest like that.

The contest will be exclusive in a videoblog for youtube later this week. I will post the video soon.

Thanks to Cinedigm for this opportunity.

I watched my own copy of the “Memento” Blu Ray a couple of nights ago. It plays great and sounds great. It’s a great film. It’s my favorite Christopher Nolan movie.

Bands taking their careers to the next level…

So you wonder. Why don’t I play more gigs? Why don’t I make a real album? Why don’t I sign to an indie label, go on US tours with my music? The answer is simple, guys. I just don’t care!!!! I never cared for popularity, fame or money, and bands/music artists seems to be obsessing with that stuff lately. Yes, I can understand musicians want to get their music heard by as many people as possible but honestly, musicians need to not worry about that stuff too much.

I never really cared about opportunity in music. Never cared about bringing my music to the next level. I never had that kind of ego if you have noticed.

Sure, I like getting my music heard and I like getting new fans. I would like to get a band going and get a CD made, all that stuff myself someday. The reason I didn’t do any of this yet is because I don’t want to get so ahead of myself. In other words, not rushing things.

The thing is, music is just for all in good fun for me. It’s my passion and in my blood. If I don’t get all the success and popularity, that’s fine. I’ll just continue to do what I do. Write songs, play my guitar, and rock out. Bands in facebook are desperate for popularity and wanting to get known.

That stuff maybe nice, but you need to worry about your own music and not worry about publicity. Writing songs is pretty much all I care about, it’s a drug to me.

The reason I’m writing this post is because I’ve been wrongfully criticized and judged by other bands, that I just sit at home and do nothing while other bands go out there getting success. Proves my point that you bands out there have the biggest egos I’ve ever seen.

I feel that I’m a successful musician if I continue to write the songs that I’m proud of writing. If I don’t get to play a big festival or don’t get to open for a famous band, that’s okay with me. Screw that shit. It makes me happy enough just writing the songs, putting them out there and having people listening to it.

I don’t have the rock star attitude. I do music for myself, plain and simple.

Funny thing at the Greenwich Y…

When I work out at the Greenwich Y and you see a bunch of guys doing bench presses without a spotter, a staff member who works at the Y will go around asking if they need a spotter. Guess what? Many of the guys refuse to get a spotter. This leaves me scratching my head a lot. This is very popular at the Y. Guys benching without a spotter.

Why do guys think they can bench without a spotter? I see them lifting heavy weights by themselves with no one behind them to watch. Sometimes I even see them have trouble putting the bar back up when they are done.

I tell ya right now everyone. When you put that bar back up when done benching, if you lose control of the bar, you’re going to drop the bar on your fuckin’ neck. Guys think they know what they are doing and they think they are doing it carefully.

Accidents can happen anytime doing benching by yourself. I just can’t wait for the day a 911 call happens at the Greenwich Y and an ambulance will be taking some dude away because he didn’t have a spotter. The bench maybe a great exercise for the chest, but very DANGEROUS doing it by yourself.

Many people have gotten injured, even paralyzed from the neck down or even death from benching accidents. I love how guys don’t think these things will happen. I’m not sure why guys at the Y refuse a spotter.

I’ll probably give up benching for a while again ’cause I found better chest workouts. There are better chest workouts out there, you don’t really need to bench if you don’t want to. It’s not really an important exercise to do.

Dumbbell flies are amazing, they work your chest better than the bench, in my opinion. So does the cable cross overs.
