Report: Robert Zemeckis to remake the Beatles animated movie, “Yellow Submarine” with Disney…

Disney and Robert Zemeckis are in negotiations to remake the famous Beatles movie, “Yellow Submarine”. Disney has bene quietly trying to get the rights to Zemeckis so he can have the full 16 original Beatles songs that were in the original film. The plan with the remake is that they want to make it 3D (plus I’m sure it will be CGI animated too). Disney hopes to release this around the time the Summer Olympics happen in 2012 which is on July 27th in London.

Report: Robin Wright Penn files divorce on Sean Penn…

I don’t do divorce stories that much here in the blog, but I gotta do this one since this divorce affected Sean Penn’s movie career. Sean Penn had several movie projects up ahead, but he pulled out of every single one of them (with the “Three Stooges” movie being one of them) due to personal reasons. Well, if you guess what those personal reasons are, I’m sure you already know what it is. Robin Wright Penn wants to make the divorce official finally. Reports surfaced the web that they were still separated and People magazine wants everyone to know that Robin already filed divorce papers.

More on it here:

Hopefully, this divorce shit will get over with, so Sean can go back to work on film. Being married to a famous person must be a tough life.

Report: Superman feud between the Siegels and WB/DC Comics gets even uglier…

The Siegel family is still fighting for full rights of the Superman character. They already won the rights, they will get the full rights of the character in 2013…but…Warner Bros/DC Comics only own the rights to certain storylines and characters of the Superman story.

For example, The Siegels now own the rights of the planet Krypton, they own Superman’s parents, Jor-L and Lora, Superman as the infant Kal-L, and they even own the rights to Superman’s spaceship leaving Krypton to crash into Earth.

The judge found that WB/DC Comics own the rights to Superman’s ability to fly, kryptonite, the Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen, and Perry White characters, his vision powers and expanded origins.

It  is still set in stone that if Warner Bros./DC Comics wants to get another Superman movie made, they must get it done by 2011. If WB’s and DC decides to make another Superman movie, they won’t be able to use storylines and characters that the Siegels own so this means Superman may be forced to get a new costume design for the next movie, not the usual red, blue and yellow costume with the S signal on the chest.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118007269.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

Even though Warner Bros. and DC are not allowed to use certain things that the Siegel’s own for the next Superman movie, don’t worry, this is Hollywood. They will do anything to change Superman around by creative writing.

I’m glad that WB/DC still own Lex Luthor, that means Lex Luthor coming back would be a possibility.

The Siegel’s fighting for full ownership of the Superman character is not in honour of the late Jerry Siegel, it’s all about the money and this article is making it clear it’s all about, cash.

I think the Siegel family are real pricks. Jerry Siegel would want his work being made into films and be celebrated by fans. The family is taking his honour away, in my opinion. Let Siegel’s work be celebrated by WB/DC.

I hope another Superman movie does happen and I hope the next one will be better.

Report: Bryan Singer signs on to direct “Battlestar Galactica”…

Universal Studios has found their director for the new, “Battlestar Galactica” for the big screen. The director is no one other than, Bryan Singer. He’s the director of the first two “X-Men” films, “Superman: Returns”, “The Usual Suspects”, and “Valkyrie”.

Variety Reports:

http://weblogs.variety.com/bfdealmemo/2009/08/singer-back-to-scifi.html

How much do you want to bet, he’ll get Kevin Spacey to have a role in this? Possibly Brandon Routh and Hugh Jackman. He may even get Tom Cruise a role in this as well. Bryan is always working with actors he’s already worked with in the past.

Thought: “True Blood” is the worst garbage I’ve ever seen, why is the show so popular? I think I know why!

The popularity of this new show on HBO, a vampire series “True Blood” that stars Anna Paquin, is possibly one of the worst shows on television. I’m sorry but it’s that bad. I hate it. I tried to watch several episodes, but the writers of these vampires series has made the vampire supernatural look embarrassing and silly.

In “True Blood”, they try to make it look cool by having vampires be part of our everyday lives.Vampires that have families, they live in their own homes and lives part of the town, they even work jobs as well. Lame.

Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” is more realistic and different. In “Twilight”, Stephenie’s versions of vampires don’t die in the sunlight, they don’t die with a stake in the heart, and not afraid of garlic. The only way to kill a vampire in “Twilight” is to rip it to pieces and burn it to ashes.

In “True Blood”, however…they do die with a stake in the heart and die in sunlight, only survive at night. They are afraid of the cross, hate garlic, but there are new additions…silver hurts them, and fire also kills them.

The acting in “True Blood” is really bad and the stories are just silly, it’s almost like a soap opera circus, a complete rip off to “Dark Shadows”.

Stephenie’s “Twilight” is better because she makes the vampire stories seem realistic as if it’s actually happening. “True Blood” doesn’t do that.

I love vampire stories, it’s my favorite in the horror genre, but I prefer Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” or “Nosferatu” for my vampire fix. “True Blood” is complete garbage and I don’t understand why people watch it. I think it’s because they know nothing about vampires yet and now vampire stories are getting mainstream again, new people that are just getting into it are seeing what this vampire stuff is all about.

These are coming from people who don’t read classic vampire stories from the 1950’s or don’t watch the classic vampire movies like all the Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee stuff. Those are true vampire stories in my opinion.

“True Blood” wants to change it all and I don’t like it. Stephenie’s stories with “Twilight” is exceptionally great, but I prefer the old classic vampire stuff. That’s the way to be.

Vampires are supposed to be scary and frightening. “True Blood” isn’t doing that. I think people watch it because of the sexual content plus they find Anna Paquin hot. I don’t even find her to be that great looking to be honest. She’s not a sexy vampire.

I would prefer Kate Beckinsale in “Underworld” or Ann Parillaud in “Innocent Blood”, they are sexy female vampires, in my opinion.

I wish “True Blood” would get cancelled, but sadily, I see the show going on for a long time since it’s mainstream popularity.

Report: Hank Williams Sr. biopic is coming to the big screen…

Nashville based film studios, 821 Entertainment Group and Strike Entertainment has greenlighted a biopic movie to do a film about the legendary country singer, Hank Williams Sr. Marc Abraham who works for Strike Entertainment will write the script. A director and the leading actor for the Hank Williams role has not yet been found.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118007124.html?categoryid=16&cs=1

Since Hank was just a young kid back in his time, the actor must be young too. Heath Ledger would have been my top choice to play Hank ’cause he would have been perfect in my opinion, but since Heath is obviously gone too…I don’t really know who else to play Hank.

Emille Hirsch wouldn’t be a bad choice to play Hank Sr. though.

Report: Paul Reubens is reprising Pee Wee Herman back to the live stage…

Yes, that’s right. Paul Reubens the star and creator of this character, Pee Wee Herman, is officially coming back! Only thing though, Pee Wee, the crazy man child with the suit and red bowtie is heading back to the stage as, “The Pee Wee Herman Show”, not on the big screen.

Paul Reubens first brought us the Pee Wee Herman character way back in 1981 at the Groundlings theatre. Then the character brought us two major motion pictures, “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure” directed by Tim Burton and “Big Top Pee Wee”.

Last year, Paul Reubens hinted at bringing Pee Wee back ’cause he’s stated he is writing a few scripts for the next Pee Wee movies. Look like he is bringing the character to the stage first to hype his return.

The new Pee Wee Herman show is scheduled for 17 performances at the Music Box and Fonda Theater in Hollywood beggining Nov. 8th.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

Lets hope Paul don’t get caught jerkin’ off in front of Miss Yvonne when she isn’t paying attention.
